I have only seen publicity from the supplier not PLUG
I believe we manufacture our own for the US market but HRS was chosen for Europe. I assume a lot of the standards are different so two products are needed.
wish they would put out their production number for November. anything over 10 would give the stock a great boost
they have enough money, the whole going concern thing was a. CYA move after the way they answered the questions on the earnings call.
Had Georgia opened in Q2 then the losses from force Majeur in Q3 wouldnt have happened as they would have had their supply to use.
looking back though the first wrong decision was canceling the Brookfield hydro site becuase it wouldnt be expandable - should have built it and learned everything there. it was months ahead of any other site due to the permitting needed.
I got the impression that the sites they are viewing for “phase 2” may all be using new “additional” renewable projects - some may be complete but not yet connected to the grid
not sure they can write off NY Stamp especially with the 2 huge storage tanks already there. remember these were budgeted before the iRA and tax incentives were in place anyway.
Jack we dont have the data to say how many are outside the USA, but we are making them at full rate and I keep seeing 1MW and 5 MW systems installed on LinkedIn, along with our partners around the globe with the large projects. where in the USA are they being installed?
Manchin already has decided to split from current administration over their handling of his legislation - it was meant to be a nice clean $3/kg or less if you used blue/grey etc.
the whole additionality was not on his mind when they wrote the IRA.
Schumer should threaten to make a stand as well. He is as linked to the IRA as Joe M , not saying he shouuld stand down but it would make the IRS staff reconsider for sure. the oil and gas industry have had way to much say here.
From memory a ot of the large green H2 projects in the USA PLUG is associated with are using new (<3 yrs old) dedicated renewables I think.
probably 70% of elecrolyser sales are outside the USA so wont be affected
Still no wonder Joe Manchin is going to run for President. Schumer should make waves that he would stand down as majority leader if this is so.
They are indeed bad news. Only Texas I think would qualify, Georgia and NY Stamp use renewables “mixed in” wth the grid supply under PPA’s so unless Niagara has installed a new turbine in the last 3 years the NNY Stamp will be unsubsidized. Still making youu rown is cheaper than buying from Air products just not $3/kg cheaper.
Most automotive manufacturers will be publishing how many cars they produced n November.
I hope Nikola decides to do the sae. What is the current production rate for the FCEV truck? at the earnings call the impression was one a week but rising to one a day if they could get the supply chain issues sorted out.
I would love them to be at 3 or more a week by now.
they could be delivering major deals, that $1bn inventory was for someone. no rush to close any more deals that are ll nothing burgers anyway
electrolyzers should be ‘flying off the shelf”. not for internal projects but for others especial in Europe and Australia.
H2 cost will be lower than Q3. but never expected to ee the savings from in house H2 until Q1. Georgia could be anytime but even then the savings wll take time to filter trough (and H2 as to be transported from there to customers)
I hope this means they can source the new/additional supply they need for that $1Bn of inventory they need to install.
How many EV charging systems can we install?
How many small datacenter systems?
How many distribution centers and fork lifts?
they will still be paying way to much for the H2 and selling to way too cheap.
the market seems to really like this financing, or is there other news coming?
this line may also explain market liking things
I think the IBM/FCEL research is in the energy server market (SureSource3000 and new Solid oxide cells) not PEM type fuel cells for mobility. especially as FCEL has no PEM or mobile cells
seems to be sector wide all others up at same time
I don't see any more bad news in that article which is like many the last 2 weeks.
he has Asbergers which explains a lot of his speech and mannerisms
DOE loan wont be until Q2 next year, hub money never was in the short term and companies have to put in just as much
I bet they are regretting cancelling the brookfield (Muddy run?) plant because it couldn't be expanded. that would have been operational possibly a year certainly 6 months ago.
Sanjay got greedy.
When Georgia is on line it had better run near capacity for 12 months or more
The planned production capacity is now behind the demand curve when it was well ahead of it.
What did he say - been trying to find his X post but cant.
all attention now on Cybertruck delivery day then FSD (not beta).
the new architecture is far better than the original put items where we can approach. getting H2 tanks under the flor and fuel cell into the engine compartment is great.
I liked this bullett:
it has production capacity just need to get the supply chain sorted out to provide quality parts in the right quantity on time
I am sure that once the 8 elements have been dried there is a lot of other stuff to go to get the liquifier down to near zero but it did sound like it would be within reach.
did yo. listen to the earnings call? lots of detail on what happened and what s left to be done.
I wonder how many boxes they have dried out by now?
Yep. Waiting for update on numbers have they got to one a day yet status of supply chain bottleneck (battery connectors?).
Quarterly target and non track?
All valid questions
Annoyed my Schwab - formally TD A account says my funds haven't cleared. and as PLUG is under $5 they wont let me buy.
PLUG may not be making H2 in Q4 but the others are from what we heard.
so they can ship new large stationary systems with nice H/w margins and reduce inventory.
fuel margn will be ridiculous but so longas there is H2 to be had the quarter will look like Q2 but lots more shipments
then home made H2 cut s in especially from Georgia to improve numbers for Q1
plenty o f posts on facebook highlighting his career move into sales.
Consensus is he left of his own accord but the pressure must have been incredible.
He was plant operations manager at Tennessee he didn't build the plant there - or in the forces.
so they should have had some good assistance in planning the construction and commissioning of a brand new plant
from the call seems Andy is running the hydrogen business. Sanjay is electrolyser manufacturing and sales to third parties. Lots in Q4 I hope)
really?check your eyesight LOL
no one discussing the Billion in inventory
Pauls logic was ridiculous. it may help get cash in Q4 where they are hoping t get big revenues - but only 6 weeks to go and they didn't really suggest anything was different in Q4 than Q3.
Paul should have gone years ago but this inventory should be his gravestone. Sanjay seems to be lecrlyser/projects not hydrogen any more which is fine by me.
still Where is George McNamee (Chairman) ?
why is his the first time we have heard about major issues in the USA hydrogen supply systems?
interesting have to ship from West coast to East. I thought most H2 was made on the south coast
I have been recovering from a busted patella tendon (delayed by pulmonary embolism) so been reading not contributing to the boards.
finally got to my home office with mouse , wireless key board etc compared to iPad or real laptop on my bed.
Hoping for some nice delivery news from pLUG in 40 mnutes
great article but fails to mention what is holding hem back at the moment.
they are producing what one FCEV a week?
hi sis due to supply chai constraints, frm the rambling answers last week I understood it to be parts of the battery packs for the Hydrogen Vehicle. I guess with the recall and throwing away romeo they have to juggle battery component suppliers and make sure there are no issues at all with FCEV.
Hopefully Bosch is shipping quality fuel cells
wold be great to get a current run rate number, I got the impression they hope t be at one FCEV per day soon
Wow.
Got to sort out the 45V verdicts then projects can get financing orders committed and staff not let go.
any one remember this post from a month ago?
Which disaster?
given the history at what point and how do you announce progress for Georgia, they have got themselves into a situation where they need to explain things so cannot just put out a PR/8K.
They have announced a ribbon cutting ceremony so I assume the plant is complete now (testing of all parts done). they need to put it. a few weeks out if they want thee Governor, Secretary of energy and the local poilce chief to be there.
we will get an update on Wednesday for sure. I am expecting it is fully tested and now running at something like 8TPD because thats all they need to produce for Georgia for now,,, or will be ramping up to 15TPD for th e ceremony.
The whole premise of delaying Texas and NY Stamp was to make making hydrogen easier by following one blueprint, so they can claim they are making hydrogen easy when these are built in record time.
Hope to hear the next locations this week.
are you attending this?
• October 20th: Ribbon cutting ceremony at Plug’s Green Hydrogen Facility Camden County, Georgia
Funny, May be thats why Europe is ahead of the US for hydrogen activity
so much focus on inaction in US but look at Europe with Port of Antwerp, Acciona, Lyfhe, Hyvia, Finland , Sine, etc.
I assume the fact that the two are so close together is that electricity is used in turning the liquid to gaseous as it gets to the fuel cell
it would be refreshing to think the US Govt have some sense of timing. Hubs could (/should) be announced on Friday/Monday being closest day to Hydrogen Day 10/08
So regarding Nikola’s 500 or 900, you are right
500 on single fill up, 900 in a day which given US regulations for hours driven is pretty impressive.
The Daimler benz truck uses liquid hydrogen so gets more mileage per fill up (80kg liquid v 70kg gaseous in Nikola).
In fact the Nikola number is very good but is that FCEV efficiency v ICE?
