I side with Sun Tzu, The Art of War "Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate."
They're desperate. MW already changed his tune. Hell he's probably already gone long...
I'm with you Swamp & Joe. The FUDsters are invading this board and weary longs are forgetting the obvious facts - getting scared, hyperventilating over what-ifs & speculation. It's so late in the game that I can only think the halt is a set-up to announce good news. Everyone needs to chill out. The Shorts are the ones that need to worry. I mean all they have is Boyd's lame videos to hang their hats on? When water becomes muddy you keep still and the mud will settle to the bottom leaving only clarity...
Kên / Keeping Still
"When the enemy troops are in high spirits, and, although facing you, do not join battle for a long time, nor leave, you must thoroughly investigate the situation." Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Is that a picture of you Chris? I didn't know you knew Suzanne Sommers!
In a way, this halt can be seen as Jacky's payback to the Shorts for striking during Chinese New Year. They must be squirming not knowing how long they will be forced to pay exorbitant fees to maintain their short positions.
Bloggers hide behind a legal shield because of the protections afforded to journalists & reporters "protecting confidential sources." It makes it much easier to just fabricate materials from so-called "anonymous" sources.
"For instance, the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2006 was forced to abandon a plan to take testimony from several journalists during an investigation into allegations that some traders were trying to manipulate shares of online discount retailer Overstock.com. The SEC did a quick about-face and decided not to take testimony from reporters after several news organizations protested."

Japan - fighting radiation poisoning with seaweed.
Sea Vegetables and Radioactive/Heavy Metal Detoxification
Sea vegetables’ effectiveness in treating radiation and heavy metal poisoning is well documented and well known worldwide. The first studies on fighting radiation poisoning with seaweed were started 30 years ago at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Researchers found that alginic acid, one of the important intercellular poly-saccharides found in large brown algae like Kelp and Alaria, could reduce the amount of strontium 90 absorbed through the intestinal wall. (S.C. Skoryna et al, “Intestinal Absorption of Radioactive Strontium,” Canadian Medical Association Journal 191, 1964) Even the U.S. government has done research on the detoxifying qualities of alginates from Kelp. The EPA’s Environmental Toxicology Lab found that alginates could bind and eliminate both radionucleides such as Strontium 90 and heavy metals such as cadmium. They also discovered that Strontium already stored in the bones was re-secreted and bound by the alginates and safely passed through the intestines. Thus the remarkable kelps can help alleviate past as well as present toxic contamination. (Steven Schacter, Fighting Radiation with Food, Herbs and Vitamins, East West Health Books, 1988) After the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Russia, Maine Coast Sea Vegetables noticed an increase in sales of Kelp and joined with other small producers in sending a kelp care package to survivors. The Russians have been seriously researching the use of their kelps from Vladivostok, from which they have isolated the polysaccharide U-Fucoidan, a radioactive detoxifier. Another very important function of sea vegetables in helping our bodies fight radiation poisoning takes place in the thyroid gland, where radioactive Iodine 131 (for example, from a nuclear power plant emission) can accumulate. Dr. Ryan Drum tells us that We are regularly taking in radioactive isotopes from the total world contamination by continual radioactive fallout from all nuclear power plants, weapons facilities and past nuclear tests. If our thyroid is full with “healthy” iodine, it will not absorb the radioactive contaminant. So it serves us well to keep our thyroids full of natural, organic iodine. Sea vegetables are the best food source of iodine. Of all the sea vegetables, Kelp is the most significant source…
Oh, I see... interesting...
Michael, I Agree with bogey999. Gaming the system isn't the answer. Just fulfilling their previously stated goals (dividend, buyback) will be in the best interests of shareholders.
NEP was T3
TradingHaltSearch
When NEP was halted after the accusations against them and the forensic audit that followed, does anyone remember the coding of the initial halt?
If you buy into what this guy says, I got a nice bridge in Brooklyn I can get you a good deal on...
A $10+ premium to the price before FUD perhaps. Don't forget "fiduciary duty" includes shareholder value.
"a $10+ premium per share must be taken seriously by the Board per its fiduciary duty."
Shorts have more to lose. Theoretically, if a stock drops to zero the owner loses 100%, but there is no limit as to how much a short can lose. What if they had to replace shares at $30.00, or $50.00, or gulp $100.00!!!
A lot of wealthy families in Hong Kong. More Rolls Royces than any other city.
When CCME releases positive news all those CGS stocks will recover, and probably surpass their prices before this event. Don't you think?
I'm inclined to agree with this analysis:
"Audit is complete, no discrepancies found that would require restatement of earnings. Now they are working on the wording of the news release and, to really annihilate the shorts, they will include a dividend announcement, stock buyback, and news of a new large investor. All of that together with similar blow away earnings to those of Focus Media, should propel the stock to $30 in just a few days. Margins are great, capitalism is just starting to flourish and the companies like CCME that are the first-in leaders can dominate just like the Rockerfellers, Vanderbuilts, Fords, Gates, Jobs, and their innovative predecessors. Sleep well, longs." m58851, YMB
The $23.00 buyout is an absurd valuation. The valuation has nothing to do with what we think we would like to make on our investment. Even a generic calculation comes out like this:
CCME Fair Value: $68.31 or $82.68 (adjusted for risk)

WCTBills salient quote:
"I never met the Lin brother's who are the chairman/directors of Wuyi Pharma, a public company in Hong Kong. If they are caught, they lose their board seat in their HK company too. Rich people don't need to commit fraud like this..."
Not to mention Starr (Hank Greenberg & Dorothy Dong) would have to be in on it, with the attendant repercussions. Fraud just doesn't make sense.
Don't forget, Dorothy Dong is the Independent Non-Executive Director, Member of Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee and Member of Compensation Committee for CCME, and would have to be aware of everything. So since she is Greenberg's representative she is not going to help them falsify earnings to meet Greenberg's performance targets.
All in, Heineken & Patron to ease my condition GLTA!

Just found it, haven't gone through it yet. Probably just journalistic
treatment of same old, same old. But I guess it beats watching paint dry.
I think she said that just to cover her own a$$ in the event of the unforeseen. She stands to lose more than most on any problems, so I'm sure she's stressed out too.
Deloitte resignation? Lets pray thats not it Joe
Monday morning pre-market release. Good news on multiple fronts. Gap up. So long Shorty...
I agree...
I think the halt will last the entire day with news released first thing on Monday morning.
Think about it, this is one of the few legal things Jacky can do to stick it to the Shorts big time...

Get set to invest in the new China, Jim Jubak MSN Money
China's latest five-year plan should lead to a much larger consumer economy and plenty of new investing themes. Here, I give you 10 stocks to consider.
Get set to invest in the new China
Yet another look at the massive China play. Although he doesn't mention CCME I like this quote:
"Using the new five-year plan as a guide, here's my list of what is likely to happen, either because the government in Beijing can make it happen or because the goal is aligned with the self-interests of a significant number of powerful companies and individuals."
Makes me think of the endorsement of CCME by the Ministry of Transportation.

I heard that!
Dropping on such light volume is not a "Tell." Just a buying opportunity for those with dry powder left.
So that's what a Stock Twit looks like...
I agree Marty! Like I've shown before:

Good comments Mr.Natural! I didn't catch the PE misstatement (wrong 69 vs correct 23.9) for FMCN as I just managed to post the article before running out the door.
