Agreed, and Stephen Miller is aces, too.
Bring it on over, I'll take care of it.
Since I last posted, I took it apart again and fixed the fan. Finally, it's working!
About time to turn the ice makers back on.... happy hour nears!
Food. My out-of-warranty main refrigerator started leaking a bit of water when it went through its routine defrost cycle.
I called the guy. Turns out a drain hole became iced over which caused the defrost water to leak elsewhere than the drain. Easy enough fix I thought, The guy took off the appropriate panels, defrosted it with a steam gun and cleaned out the drain hole. It took seven years for it to ice up, so I figured, good enough.
Unfortunately, when he was reassembling the panels, the plastic prongs holding the fan that circulates cold air from the coil into the freezer broke. It will take 2 weeks to get the replacement parts. I rigged the fan back together with epoxy and popsicle sticks and we reassembled the unit. I left the power off until I felt the epoxy would be fully cured. When I reapplied power the fan didn't run. Drats!
I had anticipated having to empty the two freezer drawers when the repairman came, so the night before, I seasoned up my large Yeti cooler with a big block of ice. I thought that would be fine while he fixed it, but it was never going to work for two weeks. It was eating at me all night, so I finally got up and started rearranging our garage freezer to accommodate the Yeti contents. I made it, but it is stuffed full.
Finally, I came back in in and disassembled the freezer panels again, exposing the cooling coil to the freezer. Normally, the fan that no longer works blows air past the coil and back into the freezer. The way I have it now, the coil is in the freezer. I'm hoping it will work.
I have temperature sensors in all my refrigeration compartments, so I'm monitoring it to see if it works. I just looked and the freezer has gone from room temperature when I was working on it down to 39 degrees, so I think I may have got it. It takes a long time for refrigerators to cool down because they put a minimal size compressor in them.... just enough to maintain when things are already cold, but slow when starting from scratch. The verdict should show itself in another couple of hours.
I have them take an extra $50 out of each check, and still end up having to send more in.
Greedy bastards is right!
You must have just gone on it, if you're limited by month. Next year you will just have an overall cap. Finally when you get to your original full retirement age you can earn all you want.
Of course, they'll tax the heck out of you on it!
Excellent!
I thought you'd appreciate that piece.
It's been a long night here dealing with refrigeration issues.... gonna be some naps in my near future.
Wouldn't that be a hoot!
Dumb or dirty:
If You Were Duped On Biden’s Cognitive Decline, You’re Too Dumb To Be A Journalist
BY: DAVID HARSANYI
JULY 09, 2024
Robert De Niro in Casino
By the time we saw Joe Biden’s debate debacle, the media had spent four years covering up his mental and physical decline to help Democrats. After Biden’s fragile mental state was exposed, the media instantaneously began pushing Biden out of the presidential race to help Democrats.
The goal remains the same.
The Wall Street Journal reports this week that Biden’s senior advisers “aggressively stage-managed” the president’s “schedule, movements and personal interactions, as they sought to minimize signs of how age has taken a toll on the oldest president in U.S. history.” Basically, everyone in the White House — as well as big-money donors — conspired to hide that the president of the United States was unable to perform even the most rudimentary tasks associated with the most powerful job in the world. By 2022, the president’s advisors didn’t even believe he was up to taking weekly cross-country trips.
And now we’re supposed to accept the claim that not a single reporter embedded in the White House (outside perhaps some who work at Fox News) hadn’t figured it out? As Ace Rothstein put it to the “yokel” floor manager in “Casino,” “If you didn’t know you’re being scammed, you’re too f—n’ dumb to keep this job. If you did know, you were in on it.”
Most reporters, one strongly suspects, fall in the latter camp. No one is that bad at his job. The same outlets that deploy teams of investigative reporters to uncover which flags Supreme Court justices are flying at their vacation homes surely have the capacity to investigate the mystery of our doddering president. More than a year ago I wrote a piece headlined “Joe Biden Is Not OK,” laying out a string of incidents that were in the public record (I was hardly alone.)
So when Axios tells me that “Hell has no fury like a press corps deceived,” I am highly skeptical. “Reporters,” Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen write, “feel duped — and some probably embarrassed —and are scrambling to unearth new evidence of decline.”
As with Pulitzer Prize-winning bogus scoops of the Russia collusion hoax or the concerted censorship meant to mitigate the fallout from the Hunter laptop story, there has never been reckoning from the press over its malpractice. No one has yet explained how a barely functioning president escaped the notice of dozens of highly paid journalism school graduates. They simply move to the next project.
So, for instance, this week CNN’s Jake Tapper assailed Biden’s incoherent MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” interview, noting incredulously that it was “supposed to be reassuring to those Democratic supporters who have gone wobbly.”
Well, no more reassuring than the rambling gun-control speech Biden gave last year that ended with the words “God save the queen, man,” or the time Biden informed the League of Conservation Voters he was building a railroad “from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean,” or the time our president forgot Winston Churchill’s name while meeting with the British prime minister, or the time he tripped on stage after a commencement speech at the Air Force Academy, or the time he wandered off during a G-7 meeting, or was helped off the stage at a fundraiser by Barack Obama (which Tapper’s network told us was misinformation.)
When Special Counsel Robert Hur let Biden — an “elderly man with a poor memory” — slide on his decades-long habit of hoarding classified documents, the political media didn’t pore over White House logs and schedules to figure out if the president was being insulated from the world. They attacked the messenger.
We’re not only talking about comically dishonest partisans like Joe Scarborough and politicians like Pat Murray — both of whom have shamelessly gone from praising the president’s supernatural mental sharpness to essentially asking him to abandon the race — we’re talking about virtually the entire press.
The New York Times has now written two editorials asking Biden to drop out of the race. And if the members of the board had only been reading their own coverage, they might not have known that Biden was struggling. Days before the debate the paper ran a piece titled “How Misleading Videos Are Trailing Biden as He Battles Age Doubts,” which laid out the case that conservatives had been unfairly attacking the president. An earlier piece, “Release of Hur Report Underlines Perils of the Special Counsel’s Job,” did not investigate Hur’s contention, it merely amplified attacks on him, noting that report was “seized upon by Trump supporters.”
The Times editorial page helpfully ran essays like “I’m a Neuroscientist. We’re Thinking About Biden’s Memory and Age in the Wrong Way,” wherein credulous readers learn that the president’s failure to recall the year his son died is probably not a very big deal. The same thing went on at NBC News, where one story’s subhead helpfully notes: “Forgetting the names of acquaintances or having difficulty remembering dates from the past doesn’t affect decision-making or judgment, brain experts say.”
Are there bigger dupes in this country than media-approved “experts?”
Even now, virtually every discussion on the left regarding the president’s fragile mental acuity revolves around his ability or inability to beat Donald Trump — rather than the dangerous position the administration and a pliant press have put the nation in. One suspects that if Biden withstands the pressure and stays in the race, they’ll all go back to covering for him again.
Because, if there’s anything this incident reaffirms, it’s that far too often the first loyalty of the political media is to the Democratic Party.

In It to Spin It
“… [W]e’re done accommodating you lunatics. it’s time for actual adults to return to the room and supplant the squalling squalor you have inflicted upon us, our economies, our cultures, and our institutions.” — El Gato Malo on Substack
Imagine: President “Joe Biden,” on the deck behind his Rehoboth Beach house Sunday evening before a most consequential week. He just declared to the nation that only an “act of God” will prevent him from running for re-election. Dr. Jill has gone inside for another martini, extra-dry, no vermouth, no ice, no olive. . . no glass. Chief advisor, Hunter Biden, just drove into Wilmington “to pick something up,” he said. Chocolate chip ice cream melts in the bowl on “JB’s” lap as he endures another Parkinsonian frozen rapture. His gaze is fixed on the gray-green Atlantic, a blank horizon, much like his current career prospects.
As happens often these days, he slips off to sleep. In his dream, a red phone is ringing.
“Who’s this. . .?” he says.
“Me, God. Thought it was time you and me had a little chat. You can’t be serious ’bout this re-election thang.”
“I’m defending our democracy. Gotta stay in. Defeat Hitler.”
“Democracy my ass! You channelin’ Hitler yourself a little too much lately. How it is you laid ninety-seven indictments on my dawg DJT? You done George Floyded da man!”
“But. . . but. . . the insurrection—”
“Insurrection my ass! Why you keep sayin’ dat?”
“If you repeat stuff enough, people believe it.”
“Who told you that?”
“Andrew Weissmann.”
“Oh, really? I kicked his ass outa my house more’n four thousand years ago. He ain’t nothin’ but trouble. Who told you to listen to him?”
“Lisa Monaco and Mary McCord.”
“Oh? Them two! Just so you know, I canceled they retirement plan up here with me. They goin’ to the other place wid Weissmann. Now, I got news for you, Joey: Ima have to take yo’ ass out dis election.”
“But why? I’ve accomplished so much. Did you see me at Gettysburg, beating those insurrectionists?”
“I see everything. Didn’t see you around dat day.”
“What about when I stormed the beaches at Normandy?”
“Naw. You was in a playpen, going goo-goo-goo. Look, Joey, here’s the deal: remember you said ‘God bless America’ in all them speeches you made?”
“We all say that. Anyway. . . .”
“Maybe y’all go through the motions, but I got responsibilities, know what I’m sayin’? I been tryin’ and tryin’ to bless dis land but yo’ bunch making’ it mighty difficult for me. So, news flash: yo’ ass is out de race. Official act from yours truly. Sorry.”
“But. . .but. . . that’s. . . that’s racist!” the President stutters as his dream dissolves in a vapor.
Dr. Jill is shaking his shoulder, rather harshly.
“I heard that! Don’t even dare think of dropping out,” she says. “Or you’ll never get another bowl of ice cream ever again! Do you read me?”
“Yeah, Okay! Okay!” Anyway. . . .”
And so it goes in the twilight hours of our forty-sixth president. At least Rob Reiner hasn’t asked him to step aside. At this point, it looks like nobody’s in a position to save our democracy until and unless they do something to save the floundering Democratic Party. All hands are on deck in our nation’s capital. Congress is even coming back from vacation today. So much desperate chatter is rising out of the Potomac Swamp that it’s like a deadly miasma infecting everyone! What on earth to do now?
There are Plans A, B, C, D, E . . . . Only one problem: they all look like variations on a Chinese fire drill. Let the demented bastard run and hope for the best? Please! You thought the debate was bad? And the Stephanopoulos colloquy was unnerving? Imagine the gaffes and flubs to come in the months ahead. For instance, the convention in Chicago. . . “Joe B” freezes up for five long minutes at the podium mid-acceptance speech like a defective android in a sci-fi movie. . . “Joe B” takes a header off the stage at a Midwest state fair. . . “Joe B” challenges a quadriplegic veteran in a wheelchair to a push-up contest. . . .
Then there is. . . the Kamala question. Could she, uh, step into the breach, if it. . . you know . . . had to be? She comes with a dowry of over $250-million in campaign contributions, which no other candidate has dibs on. Quite a temptation. But the cackling. . . ? The vapid word-salad. . .? The record of accomplishment. . . ?
Would Hillary even allow that? I said uh-hey (hey), you (you), get offa my cloud! Hillary is lurking so quietly in the background she’s like one of those self-camouflaging bottom-feeder fish pretending to be a rock, with a coy little tendril dangling in front of her garage-size mouth to lure the little fishies in . . . before . . . chomp chomp! But, has she plumb worn out her welcome in American politics? Is she a fazed cookie? You can’t help but see a big, bold letter “L” on her forehead lately. She might, arguably, be even more loathed by more voters than Mr. Trump at this point.
Then there’s the idea put out just over the weekend to stage an insta-bliz primary before the August Dem Convention. With the condition of “positive-only” campaigns. Does that mean no Hitler-talk? Can’t wait to see how that works out.
Finally, there’s the novelty solution to this fine mess: “Joe Biden” stays in the race, bumps Kamala, installs Barack Obama in the veep candidate slot, they romp, then somewhere around January 21, 2025, “JB” bows out. . . and cazart! It’s back to the Good ol’ days with President Obama again! What a play! Genius! You see, the 22nd Amendment only says: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. Doesn’t say anything about getting elected veep and then being elevated to president by happenstance. If that doesn’t save our democracy, I don’t know what will.
We’re in for fast-moving developments this week. I’ll update here as necessary.

What is the point of White House press briefings? All KJP does is sputter on without ever answering any serious question.
Save us all the trouble and just cancel them.
DEI is killing us.
I think it was our troops on high alert in Europe.
Our enemies see our weakness and she keeps propping up the demented whack job who is pretending to be president.
I pray that we turn this around before it gets too ugly.
Jill belongs in jail.
I think you hit the nail right on the head.
It will be interesting to see how the lame stream tries to cover that they knew all along.

Just read another article that quoted Joe's claim that Trump was yelling at him during the debate.
It's a total crock; I saw nothing of the sort.
There was one time when they were going back and forth over Pinocchio Joe's golf tirade when you could hear them over a muted mic, but it was only for a second or two. If Trump had been yelling at him throughout, we would have heard about it ad nauseum.
I refuse to ignore my lying eyes and ears!
It's payback for what he's done to this country. Karma, as they say.
Boy howdy....it sure does!
I hear ya!
Thing is, Kumala was in on the cover up. How does she get around that? (Rhetorical)
We live in the strangest of times.
Good morning kk.
I watched some of the post interview commentary which included clips.
It was just as you said.
How was this ever allowed to happen, and how did they all get away with covering it up? (until now, anyway.)

Who Turned Off the Gaslight?
Things were bad, and they knew things were bad, and they knew others must also know things were bad, and yet they would need to pretend, outwardly, that things were fine. The president was fine. The election would be fine. —Olivia Nuzzi, NY Magazine
There’s a reason that the fable of The Emperor’s New Clothes is so potent: it describes a mentally ill society that retreats into abject unreality, to avoid contending with truth. Alas, this archetypal human quandary shoves such a society towards nemesis: downfall and punishment. And that is exactly the consequence of our news media’s craven, dishonorable, degenerate behavior the past decade.
They have disordered our nation’s consensus about reality with peremptory lying about everything, in service to a political party that lies to its citizens about everything. The big question is: who or what recruited them into serving the Party of Chaos, and why did they go along?
You can explain the media’s initial repugnance to Donald Trump going back to his 2015 debut in politics. Much about him had a low-class odor, despite all the gold-plating — his origins in tawdry Queens, his career as a builder in Manhattan where the trades are mob-controlled, the Atlantic City casino debacle, bankruptcy, ditching Ivana and his mid-life playboy reputation, the tacky TV show, the increasingly mystifying hair-doo, his rough, jumbly manner of speech. Everything about him repelled the Ivy Leaguers who increasingly filled the ranks of national-level journalism.
Despite all that, Mr. Trump raised five kids successfully. The grown ones had careers and they all visibly loved him. With that and his overt masculinity, he assumed the lineaments of the archetypal Daddy, which enflamed the enormous cohort of feminists who had taken over the Democratic Party behind their avatar Hillary Clinton. And when he squeaked out an electoral victory over her in 2016, they were sure it was a cheat. The menace of Daddy in da (White) house pushed them over the edge psychologically.
Daddy was all about setting boundaries, which was the antithesis to the “progressive” (and transgressive) agenda of the Dems, and was probably the reason that his talk of “building the wall” along the Mexican border drove them nuts. It signaled patriarchal control of a whole lot of other things, too. Boundaries galore!
Now, it happened that the Democratic Party was also the favored party of the DC permanent bureaucracy, which had been growing and growing for decades and had become overtly politicized during the eight years of Barack Obama. Mr. Trump threatened to downsize this leviathan government, meaning many patronage jobs might be lost. (Boundaries would be imposed!) The warrior branch of this Deep State was the Intel community. The FBI, the DOJ, the CIA, the State Dept, and elements of the military were commissioned by the Democratic Party to destroy Mr. Trump.
They used the machinery of the law to lay one trip after another on the president and effectively hog-tied him — RussiaGate, the Ukraine phone call impeachment, the George Floyd anarchy — and when those operations failed to oust him, they ran the Covid-19 caper (with enormous collateral damage to the people and their economy), which enabled rigging the 2020 election with mail-in ballots. Once Mr. Trump was squeezed out-of-office, the FBI turned the J-6 protest at the Capitol into a riot, which Nancy Pelosi then converted into an “insurrection” using the House J-6 committee. The J-6 incident, they dearly hoped, would rid them of Mr. Trump once and for all.
The news media went along with every bit of that, year after year, converting each mendacious act of the party and the bureaucracy into consumable narrative, and lying either overtly about all the ops, or just omitting to report on the dark truth behind it all. Any reality-based thread that happened to leak into public view from independent alt-news reporters was branded by CNN, The New York Times, the WashPo, and many others as “misinformation” — a newish concept produced by a cadre of language Stasi skilled at inverting the meaning of anything to bamboozle the public. It appears that the news media became so invested psychologically in its own dishonest product that it began to believe its own bullshit.
Or, at least, they wanted to pretend to believe it. One of the big problems was that absolutely everything they labeled “misinformation” or “conspiracy theory” turned out to be truthful, and that was becoming an inescapable embarrassment. And then the biggest blunder they made was going along with the Deep State’s selection of “Joe Biden” in the very sketchy Super Tuesday primary of 2020. The old grifter had next-to-zero support in all the preceding preliminaries and somehow (abracadabra !) he swept the field.
By then, the Democratic Party, and its public relations arm in the mainstream media, had descended into florid mental illness. Everything they stood for post-World War Two flipped to its opposite. Suddenly, they were against free speech. They weren’t coy about it. They just made-up some new bullshit about free speech being “hate speech.” Similarly, they were against a free press. They went along with all the misinfo / disinfo bullshit the government cooked up and supported its role in suppressing the news. They were no longer anti-war, the party-of-peace. They were now pro-segregation and pro-discrimination (white people need not apply) according to Critical Race Theory (a childishly sketchy doctrine). Most of all, they were no longer skeptical of anything that the leviathan establishment wanted to do, including abridging the liberties of American citizens.
Then there was the campaign to use the most powerful human instinct, sexuality, as a weapon to disorder the minds of American children, leading even to the mutilation of their bodies — a program that unmistakably tipped toward genuine evil, suggesting that actual psychosis lay behind the Cluster-B crypto-Marxism used to justify it.
“Joe Biden” was fine with all of that, and the news media was fine with “Joe Biden” and whoever was using him as a front. Of course, it was evident during the 2020 campaign that “Joe Biden” was not up to a job as demanding as Chief Executive of the US government — and that was even apart from the dense criminal web of influence peddling discovered around him and his family, which the news media ignominiously ignored. But now the years have gone by and there’s no hiding “Joe Biden’s” rather gravely diminished mental abilities.
Last week’s debate gave away the game. It had the effect of finally turning off the gaslight that the news media has been shining over the republic lo these many years. They can no longer pretend that this president is anything close to okay in body and mind. They can’t annul the gaslighted public’s delayed realization that they’ve been subject to a concerted program of deliberate lying for a long long time.
So now, inveterate pretenders and liars, such as Jake Tapper of CNN and Maggie Haberman of The New York Times — and many others — have to pretend that they were innocently duped into supporting all the turpitudes of the Democratic Party / Deep State axis-of-evil. It is really hard to imagine that they can successfully rehabilitate their reputations. They have done immense harm to our country. It’s hard to see how the Democratic Party might survive, too, no matter who they finally put up for election this year. Of course, there’s still plenty of time left for them to destroy the country altogether. Just keep giving American missiles to Ukraine to fire into Russia and see what happens.

Ok. Thanks for taking one for the team!
Thank you for that vivid and wonderful summation!
Yes, it's a beautiful turn of events.
I hope Brandon continues to hold out.
Love the smell of burning lib hair in the morning!
Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to watch Steph makes my skin crawl.
I agree, and the edits will be exposed.
He's toast.
Just FWIW, hackers mostly target new software because there are fresh vulnerabilities and a larger market to exploit. I would guess that very few are writing malware for XP, Win7-8, etc. Very soon win10 will also be ancientware.. You might be safer with the old stuff.
Finally breaking above that 50DMA; let the uptrend begin.
Not to mention, Gutfeld is past my bed time.
Recording him is the way to go. It allows me to skip through the tranny and homo stuff.
Sounds like you have a fun day planned, Enjoy!
I haven't relented on my Fox boycott, with one exception, I record Gutfeld.
At 5, I've been watching Carl Higbie on Newsmax. He's a genuine patriot if ever there was one.
Plus I stream OAN and watch a lot of their coverage, especially Dan Ball's Real America at 8.
