GMARC PLEASE READ...Im glad I took a minute to read the message board today, I havent in awhile. I am very sorry to hear about your father. But hopefully, any help I cam give you is much more important than anything SNEY does for either of us.
My father was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer in his left lung and lymphnodes in July 2008. My father had annual check-ups for his lungs b/c he was a life long smoker. My father was healthy and strong otherwise. When the July 2008 results came back, there was a significant growth from the last year. Unfortunately, the 2007 exam results were "lost" either by the lab or our family doctor and we never received them. Thus, my father got everything going as fast as possible b/c the cancer went from stage 1, to stage 3b in the missed year. His chemo/radiation was to start mid September, unfortunately on September 6, I found my father lying on the floor in the middle of the night. He suffered a massive stroke as a result of the cancer. The ER doctors told us he was to die that morning and every other time he had strokes in the last three years. My father didnt, in fact he lived until this February 9 even after 3 strokes which took use of his left side completely, then his vision and slowly the cancer took all of him away because he loves us soooo much. It ruined my life, I loss my best friend, my mother her husband and love of her love and caused us irrepreable harm.
No doctor or anyone else for that matter alerted us to the fact that cancer, especially lung cancer causes your blood to become hyperactive. Thus, causing stroke in some cases. Im not sure whether they will give blood thinners proactively, but please look into this matter and discuss with your doctors. Best of luck to your father, family and yourself. GOD Bless!!!
Go SNEY!!!
