Jalapeno,
Great peacefull shots!! Thank you!
Rig
This is what I had tonight over Linguini All Dente'.........
Sometimes I make this with a Tomato Fra Diavolo sauce.
In Italian, fra diavolo refers to peppery dishes. It means literally, brother devil and refers to a Sicilian Robin Hood, Michele Pezza (1771-1806), who disguised himself as a Franciscan friar and so was called 'Fra Diavolo'.
Saute of Frutti di Mare
Recipe courtesy Rocco Dispirito
Show: Melting Pot Episode: Mediterranean Seafood Feast
Recipe Summary
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
4 pounds mixed frutti di mare (clams, shrimp, mussels and cockles)
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chopped Italian flat leaf parsley
Black pepper
Thoroughly clean shellfish under cold running water. Discard any that are open or bad smelling. Heat oil in large pan. Briefly fry garlic but do not brown. Add shellfish to pan and cook with lid on. Shake pan so shellfish cooks evenly. Once all shells have opened, stir in parsley and fresh black pepper. Serve.
And this for the Shrimp lovers like Jim.........
4 Tbsp. olive oil
6 cloves garlic, crushed
3 c. whole peeled tomatoes, sliced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package linguini or angel hair
In a large saucepan, heat 2 Tbsp. of the olive oil with the garlic over medium heat. When the garlic starts to sizzle, pour in the tomatoes. Add the salt and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water. Drain. In another skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink, stirring frequently. Add to the tomato mixture. Stir in the parsley. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until the sauce just begins to bubble. Serve sauce over pasta.
And BTW, no cheese on Italian seafood dishes.Thats a NO NO!
Rig

Jump to first matched term
OSBURN, Idaho, Nov 18, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In response to numerous investor inquiries, Atlas Mining Company (OTCBB:ALMI) is pleased to announce the transfer of the lease purchase agreement between Atlas and Conjecture Silver Mines, Inc. to Chester Mining Company. The agreement giving Atlas the rights to the Dragon Mine and its halloysite clay deposit in Juab County, Utah has not been affected by the transfer. In a statement by William Jacobson, president of Atlas Mining Company, "I am very pleased that the Dragon has stayed in the hands of another friendly company. Chester has been a long time Silver Valley company and has interest in Shoshone County, Idaho the same as Atlas. We know the management of Chester and look forward to working with them."

Atlas has controlled the rights to the Dragon Mine since July, 2001, when a lease purchase agreement was signed between the then current owner and Atlas. There have been no changes in the agreement. Atlas has completed an independent geological study, a diamond drill program, and has provided samples of halloysite clay to potential buyers. "Our activities to date have moved us to the forefront were the next step is go into full production, which we intend to do very soon. Extensive analysis by Dr. Paul Adler and others have continued to prove that the Dragon Mine halloysite has very unique qualities which make our product even more valuable," commented Jacobson.
Please visit the Atlas website at www.atlasmining.com for more information.
Atlas Mining Company is a diversified natural resources company with its primary focus on the development of the Dragon Mine in Juab County, Utah, the only known commercial source of halloysite clay outside of New Zealand. Medical Cannabis Inc.: The World's First Publicly-Traded Marijuana Company
Jump to first matched term
TORONTO, Nov 18, 2003 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Medical Cannabis Inc. (the 'Company'), is in negotiation with a TSX/NASD:BB public company, pursuant to which the Company, Medical Cannabis Inc., has agreed to sell 51% ownership to the public company and an option on the additional 49%. The agreement may be concluded this week.
"I believe people will support the offering in the public markets and it would be a favourable way to participate in an often-considered imaginative endeavor. What is unique about this business proposal is that as a public company everyone now has a sincere and legal way to potentially make money in a budding marijuana industry. The stock can go sky-high," comments Mr. Warren Eugene, Chairman of Medical Cannabis Inc. "The company views the current prohibition of marijuana as similar to that of alcohol and tobacco. If Sam Bronfman were alive today, he may very well be lobbying the government for bonded cannabis warehouses."
Forbes Magazine recently reported in November 2003 that the controversial plant holds an important place in world history and culture, not to mention business. Canada's marijuana crop is estimated at $4 billion to $7 billion. If it were controlled by a single company, it would be larger than Canada's oil and gas businesses and Canada's agricultural industries.
On October 7, Canadian courts ruled that businesses and individuals be allowed to grow and supply large amounts of medical marijuana, effectively relieving the Canadian government of its often criticized and fairly unsuccessful attempts. Comments Eugene, "The Canadian courts understood, in plain terms, that if your loved ones were sick, would you deny them and Aspirin (TM) to make them feel better?
"The Ontario Superior Court decision greatly assisted our company. We can grow marijuana for unlimited number of exempted people. In terms of supply and cultivation, you can now pay people to grow it for you. The ruling makes it easier for sick people to get marijuana by allowing them better access and more choice. Health Canada estimates that 400,000 Canadians may require medicinal cannabis."
In October 2003, the United States Supreme Court lifted the federal ban of medical marijuana and prosecution of doctors. "This may open the doors to a larger international market for our company," says Eugene.
Warren Eugene is best known as the pioneer of Internet gambling and electronic cash from 1995 to 2003 (www.casino.org) and created the opportunity for the transaction of billions of dollars over the Internet. Mr. Eugene has been featured in Playboy, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, PBS, USA Today, CNN, CBS, CBC and Wired, as well as the international media.
"The grass roots movements have made way for the corporate initiative, promoting the safe use of medicinal cannabis. We have improved the delivery, packaging and the costs," states Eugene. The government, as of February 2004, may approve Bill C-38 or a derivative of that Bill. The Bill insures Canadians have the right to possess up to 15 grams of non-medical marijuana.
"More likely the Supreme Court may make a favorable decision. We anticipate that outcome. It would make good economic and political sense to regulate and tax marijuana as they do tobacco and alcohol. This is a risky opportunity and I'm speculating that the courts and/or Parliament will decriminalize marijuana and allow Medical Cannabis Inc. to grow and distribute under government license. This will happen in several countries next year. The market in Canada alone may exceed 10,000,000 Canadians."

Synthetic Blood International Announces Completion of Second Dose Level in Phase II Clinical Study
Jump to first matched term
COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov 18, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Synthetic Blood International Inc. (OTCBB:SYBD) announced today the successful completion of the second of three dose levels in a Phase I clinical safety study of Oxycyte(TM), the company's perfluorocarbon-based (PFC) blood substitute and therapeutic oxygen carrier. Nine subjects were given infusions of either Oxycyte or a control solution, in a double blind study design, and evaluated for adverse events. The only product related reactions were minor, transient increases in liver enzymes and decreases in platelet levels. There is no clinical significance to these changes.
"At this dose level, Oxycyte proved to be very well tolerated," said Robert Nicora, SYBD president. "The reactions that were seen were completely expected, based on preclinical animal safety studies with Oxycyte, and published clinical safety studies with competitive PFC products."
The third and final dose level in this study will start in early December, and the study will be completed by the end of the year. If favorable, the results of the Phase I study will provide the basis for testing Oxycyte in Phase II clinical studies in patients. The company anticipates Phase II studies will start in early 2004.
"We continue to be pleased with the results of this first clinical study with Oxycyte," said Nicora. "When all the results are in, we believe the safety profile of Oxycyte will be at least as good and may prove to be superior when compared with other PFC blood substitutes that have been clinically tested."
While the company has sufficient capital to complete the Phase I study as well as at least two Phase II studies, the company cautions that there can be no guarantees regarding its ability to raise additional capital, or to predict the outcome of clinical trials.
In addition to Oxycyte, SYBD is also developing Fluorovent(TM), a liquid ventilation product that may be useful in treating respiratory disorders in adults and children. The company is also developing an implantable glucose biosensor for the continuous monitoring of blood glucose levels in diabetics.
The company is traded under the symbol SYBD on the OTC Electronic Bulletin Board. SYBD has headquarters in Costa Mesa. The company's Web site is www.sybd.com and e-mail address is info@sybd.com.
Except for historical information, the matters set forth in this release are forward-looking statements that are subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from those set forth herein. This includes the availability of funding for further testing and development, uncertainties associated with the conduct of pre-clinical or clinical studies and the timing or ability to investigate scientific data.
