I would too if I saw how much great work you were putting into them. Can only imagine how much more it may excite them to know that their investor base believes in them.
Absolutely not worried with the current pps. We all know what we have here and despite the ups and downs we know where it's headed. Johnny is making good on all his promises thus far. Let's take advantage of this loading zone and enjoy the cheapies while we can.
Even for a somewhat noob of a trader I love seeing everything unfolding before my eyes. Watching my unsettled powder like a hawk to pick up a few mil more at these levels prior to the rocket launch!
OTTV Long and Strong!
I haven't heard anything of that nature. I would assume they would down the road if they have the funds (probably will) in the Latin America countries where this is primarily focused. That would help promote their current business model.
I don't foresee them doing it here stateside though unless they have some sort of technology (like their middleware) that will set them apart from larger contenders. With Google fiber cities down the road, and who knows what else may pop up.
All my opinion.
You can stream from two devices simultaneously at no extra charge. If you want 4 (altogether) you pay an extra $10.
So far I haven't noticed any degradation to any of the services while my wife is watching netflix in the other room, I'm on my laptop, she's facebooking on her phone, and I've got Viva going in the bedroom.
I guess it also depends on whatever speed internet you have. I've got 30 mb/s internet. Hope that answers your question.
Agreed. Thanks for everything, Powerbattles.
I think this unexpected turn of events has worked in favor of Viva honestly. This soft launch and digging around by the investors along with poking and prodding customer support may have opened their eyes sooner than later.
I'd rather that they realized that they were grossly unprepared when they did versus when the media blitz starts.
Apologies. It was a legitimate question on my end and not an attack by any means. Thx for the good info. Explains the fluctuations.
Updated from where? There is absolutely no information anywhere that says that. Provide some proof.
It's impressive for the price and what you get out of it. I think they just need to work on a few of the software interfaces. I'm sending in my opinions and ideas as I come across them that would make it a much more user-friendly product. I suggest others do the same perhaps using the ticket support system. Be as precise as you can be if you decide to do so. I'm sure they're already comparing the product to cable television guides and netflix movie/episode libraries. Consider this the communication loop. They can't fix issues if you do not provide feedback.
I'm going to assume that their product will be updated with beefed up version of what we currently have. Just remember guys/gals that we currently have the equivalent to a beta during this soft launch. The boxes search for software updates when turned on which is a good sign that they'll be able to fix bugs with the boxes quick as they come across them.
OTTV Long and Strong. I Don't mind the road bumps. Call me what you want for sticking with OTTV, but I have a physical product in my hands that makes me happy financially and emotionally. I couldn't ask for more. I have faith JF knows what he's doing.
Hardly noticeable when unconnected via Ethernet cable, and that's pretty good with it being all the way across the house from the Wifi router. Only time it's buffered more than a few seconds is when my wife is streaming something on her phone while she also watches Netflix on the other TV. Even better when wired directly.
Have to consider all your bandwidth demands when judging it's performance. I'd say it does well when competing among all the other simultaneous demands in my house
I had ordered mine July 4th. I pinged them a couple times and the said something similar. They ended up 2-day shipping it out to me very quickly once they got it in.
Lovin' it.
I compared those two only due to them both having the exact same user interface and Senior Penny talking about MKAU.
Also, I don't mention the bigger guys much just on account I would expect them to scoop this up in an acquisition. They'll be able to apply their interface lessons learned onto Viva's product.
I think Clikia did well due to its multiple press releases and winning over its investors early on. However, recently it's been trading really low volume over the past 30 days so that kind of tells you a few things as far as investor interest.
Premium subscriptions at $30 a month and a tangible product for them to play with followed by more frequent press releases (sound familiar minus the press releases?). Just looking at the google play store they only have around 100 downloads. Anyone have any idea when their product came to GooglePlay? So few ratings as well. I've yet to see any Clikia commercials on TV either through my normal cable programs. Have they announced deals to expand beyond our borders/coasts? Do they intend on having a 10000+ movie/episodes selection for on demand?
I think Viva is poising itself for a solid-footed launch as far as waiting til it has most of the kinks worked out. They already provide a much larger selection of channels for practically the same price to a vastly greater audience (latino community and perhaps will pursue other cultural niches as well). Who knows what they have in store for the music channels or on demand movies. If the music selection is anything like SIRI that'll be enough to win me over and cancel my Sirius/XM subscription, and the same goes for Netflix. One-stop shopping! *crosses fingers* I'm tired of having multiple subscriptions for all my different entertainment sources.
The live broadcasting from individuals will be very interesting. It may open up a whole new niche of how we use media.
Everyday Joe Schmoe observations and opinions here.
Got the TV box set up in less than 5 minutes. Not bulky at all with a sleek look to it. Pretty damn happy with it so far.
Just got my box! Will report back later after getting it set up and playing with it!
Right on. Would be interesting to see your list months from now.
Is it even worth trying to project this out prior to their marketing blitz? Right now I'm assuming their subscriber base is growing by word of mouth or people randomly stumbling upon the app in the stores.
You have to poke holes in everything no matter how good it may look or feel. In the end it's what you decide to do with your own/others' findings.
Completely agree with you on all your statements. I'm crossing my fingers this will turn around despite the dips, and prove us wrong.
I'll just hold these bags until we're ready to board the plane for takeoff.
OTTV Long
Right. I just want the information to be accurate and hope that the company doesn't have to backtrack on something they said.
We're all a part of the larger collective that will be affected. Just gotta cross the fingers for now until they have someone in place that realizes the significance of what they say and the power it can have on the market.
RobGPS,
I don't, but what I see is potentially misconstrued information to yet-to-be investors because Viva (or whoever represents them on Twitter) doesn't quite comprehend what they're being asked and are posting what they think the questions mean.
If my English isn't that great I may misunderstand "going current" for their hard launch or something else altogether. Like I said, it was just a thought.
My honest thought is that those who are posting to twitter are doing a disservice to the rest of us in some facets. There has to be another avenue we can take in order to not air out things like not being current in an open forum setting where much larger eyes may be lurking.
Through most of the interactions with customer support folks and the twitterer I'm beginning to wonder if English is their second language. Perhaps they're misinterpreting what is being asked about going current or any of the investment/stock lingo that they're being overloaded with. Thoughts? Perhaps instead of short tweets aimed at pulling information we could be more detailed with our questions and at least lower said barrier a bit.
Excellent. Doesn't hurt at all. I've been telling everyone I know about it, followed by whipping my phone out and showing them that I'm watching live TV no problem anywhere I want. So far all "Ooos and ahhhhs". The product speaks for itself. It's not entirely perfect user interface(yet), but it will get there.
I introduced it to an Indian couple who own a restaurant and they were actually quite impressed. They usually have to resort to YouTube and what not to get the shows they want.
Yes, it does discuss the technology and how to save money, but this issue is coming out 2 months too early if we want to see any benefit to us and Viva Live Tv (OTTV). All it mentions are the bigguns in the streaming content industry.
Viva TV will make its footprint eventually. Just have to be patient. I'm thankful some funds have cleared and I'm aiming to load up another mil tomorrow.
OTTV Long and Strong!
Viva Live TV Success! My father-in-law was visiting from Switzerland yesterday, and the sister-in-law asks if there's any way to get Wimbledon or any of the soccer matches on. Searched the XBOX for a while to see if anything free was playing but most required subscriptions almost equivalent to what you'd pay for Viva. After no luck there I just pulled out the tablet and Viva saved the day. Kept him pre-occupied for hours. Even with his very broken English he exclaimed "This is live?!".
Nit... C'mon. That's standard hulu services. No live TV. Yesterday's shows with minimal interruptions. That's the only special is that it's just a bit cheaper than normal for the same thing.
Saw one for Hulu that was 39.99 for only around 50 channels.
Yes, several of us.
Totally understandable. I was a bit skeptical as well when I was trying to get set up online, but then I used the ticket submission system. I got a timely response within minutes, and it was actually a few messages back and forth pretty much like a live chat. So they have customer service going for them.
It's worth subscribing for at least a month to check it out. A few of the features still don't work or at least I can't figure them out. Like assigning a primary device. That hasn't stopped me from watching shows on my tablet, phone, etc and testing out the differences between each knowing that each one receives different bandwidth speeds based on the age of the devices. The only streaming issues I encountered was when I got decently far away from my router. I don't have a range extender so we'll say 40 feet through multiple walls and a bathroom with pipe. Only then did it skip a few times and buffer a bit.
This company is obviously still in its infancy, but I definitely see the potential. They have a few things to clean up in order to make it dummy-proof because that's the end goal for most companies when it comes to user interface. The credit card gateway will be here eventually, but they'll have to get their butts in gear if they want to make it look legit. Big buyers won't buy in if they have bad reviews early on. Let's hope they clean it up and look desirable before their big marketing frenzy. Either way it's still attractive at this price, and I would consider it a threat or at least a nuisance if I were the larger companies.
Cheers,
Cruisnfoo
I used the ticket submission system and was pleasantly surprised with their response time and answer quality.
All this without news. Just imagine when news does hit...
Credit card gateway becomes available next Monday. See my previous posts about support tickets I sent in for same issue. Was impressed with their timely and honest responses.
Either way I'm still quite impressed at how quickly their support responded to my ticket. Was only a matter of minutes and I was in the high 300s. Was testing them to see how they would respond to the "I don't have a paypal/nor do I use it" to see what their response would be. Quite content with how they handled it and that they were honest.
Just a bit disconcerting when you can't subscribe via credit card at the moment even though it's an option. At least the rep said support ticket admin said they would have the credit card gateway ready next Monday...
So, here's how I see it. I'm long term. Others who claim to be long and freak out over these little rollercoaster rides without the long term (6M-1Y+) outlook probably shouldn't be saying "I'm a long". Good news to me and the price dropping/rising due to shorters/MMs doesn't scare me into a panic and selling spree. While it's in the subpenny and first few pennies it's gonna get manipulated like crazy. That is... until the big boys show up and we get some industrial sized investors throwing money at it. Which, so long as Alper makes good on his end, has a pretty good chance of happening, based on how much is in the works IMO.
Another reason I don't care about it dropping like crazy and not becoming overly emotional about it is because IT'S A PENNY STOCK AKA A GAMBLE. I've lost more at casinos then what I've thrown at this.
I'm taking what I can get when I can get it. Thank goodness for payday! Added another 1/2 mil today and slapped the ask for the hell of it to help keep peoples' chins up. Can't wait for the next piece of news.
USAA just accepted a trade order. Looks like it's tradeable again?
Hoping to see that new communications manager put to use after the conference call with some expertly crafted PRs. Lets get those big time industry investors intrigued!
I did. Many good things to come so it seems, and I loved the part where he said he's not just handing out shares to hand out shares. He seems to be putting in quite an effort as a lone individual to get some legs under the company. You have to think just how much he believes in this with how much he's accomplished in a short period.
