OK, so what if it was Ken Fischer himself? MY point was you were wrong to assume a billion dollar contract wouldn't attract a lot of buying - even if QTMM was on the OTC; there are billion dollar companies on the OTC.
For that matter, do you know why Ken Fischer bought and sold? You assume it had something to do with Sri leaving. Assuming that Sri wanted to issue preferred shares and sell-out the company, maybe that was just as well, but not evidence of 'solid progress'.
So negative! With a billion dollar contract uplisting itself would be a slam dunk, and plenty would invest. Even things as they have been on the OTC, Fischer investment put some money into the stock - with a huge contract the floodgates would open.
We had that much rain in San Rafael, CA one night in January the year before last; should be all right. Far enough away so the storm surge shouldn't affect them, too.
The numbers on the list don't add up, imo. For instance, see the first company, with 17363 shares and a total investment of $136,000 ($136 x 1000). That's more than $8 a share -- ?
I think it is 50% of the profits, and when and if QMA goes public, 25% of shares distribution to QMC
does anyone think the $21 million is in addition to the initial $14 million?
Retrograde mercury goes direct today, news coming?
total bs
Right, that's what I thought, but one poster said the comparison was amazing, so I asked. Ready to roll now
I'm a little confused on the picture - is it sideways? Qmc on top of the frame, and major manufacturer's on the bottom. The two white squares both look bright to me. What is the dull brown screen on the left?
yeah, you don't just resign outright and get paid salary and benefits for six months - it said it was a "resignation agreement" - not just a quitting - likely this is a move to clear out dead weight to move the company forward. I like Steve back at the helm, he got us all of the contacts in the first place, while Sri was an outsider.
Exactly...semper fi
Summing up: RS to get on Nasdaq, AS increase to cover funding agreements, Preferred shares authorized to guard against possible hostile takeovers, and possible other needs. No scam, no stupid ideas, but well thought out battle plan for success.
Please stop with the bold capitalization posts to make your points!
Actually Sri said this:
"What we have been attempting to do hasn’t been done before; we are inventing an entirely new product with a new, scalable manufacturing process."
The company report just released is supposedly for the quarter ending June. Does anyone know if the letter to shareholders was based on that date or is it as of today?
Didn't say a plant in China would be up and running, only that sales of dots would begin there; they could be supplied here until a plant is built there. Keep tuned
I am sure a fund doesn't know years ahead of time when they will need to liquidate; you can't fault SS for that.
"Why is the 20 mil number thrown around so casually? To my understanding it was a fund for QD research and not solely an investment into QMCA. Any proof of the opposite would be greatly appreciated."
Not sure what kind of proof you want, but the PR says:
"GTG will invest $20 Million US for building out Quantum Materials QDX™ quantum dot production facilities and quantum dots application development in China. "
My Yahoo says market cap of NANO is 93M.
29/93 = 3.1
3.1 x .094 = 0.29/share.
2.675 x .29 = ~0.78
They are walking the walk, imo. Things are looking good. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/man-studied-rich-people-5-163000701.html
"QTMM has no money! OR had no money until the 20M infusion."
So what's the problem?
"What does going to China to get money really mean? Is the company so financially stressed that there is no interest for investment here by US companies?"
This is absurd. It means what it means: a deal to penetrate a foreign market. Who else has such a deal? And, of course there is interest in in U.S. companies, and ongoing negotiations.
" OR are the products not as good as the company stated? Whenever they put out anything about production they always need a partner, double speak for no money."
Not 'doublespeak for no money', but plain speak for the need for joint collaboration on films, screens, and other products. QTMM is not a large established company with many divisions and huge funds to develop everything from scratch; don't put it down for that, you sound hysterical, and also like one seeing the glass, not as half-empty ( which might be legitimate), but as totally empty! This seems rather ingenuous to say the least, and ridiculous given the latest developments.
"Just heard on CNBC that Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in Solar Energy. What really happened when QTMM tried to sell them on QD? I was under the impression that QD solar was far more efficient than what we are being told today."
You are wrong; 8% is the benchmark, nobody is beyond that yet.
"I just don't understand why QTMM would want to double down on building something in China, unless something is awry in the US. We just don't know. It seems to me "starting over" makes no financial sense."
This is total BS. Nobody is 'doubling down' or 'starting over'. It is one good deal, as far as one can tell, and again, in a huge market - who else has one like it?
"Don't get this wrong, I am continuing to invest at these levels,"
(Really?!l) but I am increasingly questioning my own judgment level." (Ordinarily that would be fine, but, come to think of it, perhaps you should)."
"I am really frustrated when reading about all the goings on in this industry and QTMM is at zero when it comes to selling anything."
Look, they are a startup, and rapidly catching up to a stage other funded companies are at
"I believe it is partly because they have no money."
Not 'no money', but, okay even if it is partly true, so what?!!... Every new good development and more and more criticism....
"When I talked to someone in the company about two years ago about the progress being made in solar because I really am waiting for QD solar before I put panels on my roof, the answer was we have the technology, but we are trying to find a partner before we can proceed. Again, no money. Sometimes someone just has to throw it out there for a reality check, even if it seems so simplistic."
There is plenty of reality checking on this board. You are not saying something new or earthshaking. The money is coming. And, so what? - simply choose what you will do, like we all do....
Still have too much time on my hands:
For accuracy's sake, I had that backwards: "I have come to chew bubblegum and kick ass - and I'm all out of bubblegum!"
You said, "I reckon QMC can probably chew gum & walk at the same time , & likewise , QMC could (& seems to) have attached priorities to their focal points , while still not casting other opportunities aside."
As a light aside, I hope they will soon say, like Roddy Piper in the movie They Live, just as he was ready to waste the aliens at a luncheonette, "I have come here to kick ass and chew bubble gum - and I'm all out of bubblegum!" heh heh
What is the significance of this for us>?
I don't see how that follows. We don't need to get to 65% to make solar profitable, I only wondered if they meant 3-5 years to get to just 8%. I thought we were already at 8%, and working towards the teens in the near future.
Okay, that makes sense
He said "QTMM'S magic efficiency number in dealing with solar cells is 8% with the theoretical top around 65% which should be attainable in 3 to 5 years."
So, is it 8% in 3-5- years, or 65% in 3-5 years? The answer would make a big difference
"A question was, how does the Asian deal translate to income for the US company from a shareholders point of view? It’s 50/50 revenue sharing but the funds will not be consolidated into our financials, it’s a minority but the economics are equally split. Ok, that went over my head as it has to do with the business and tax laws in China..."
What does this mean? How would the stock improve w/o revenues from the China QMC going to the bottom line? I doubt that can be, but then, Is the china QMC going to be separately listed in the China stock market, or what?
Yes, what about this July JDA, did they say anything?
“Combining our resources and expertise in advanced quantum dot technologies with GTG’s strong financial support AND business relationships with top-tier manufacturers of displays, lighting products and solar panels will facilitate generating tremendous business opportunities in both the government and private sectors.”
Opening the door!
Tony? Who's that?
What'd it say in the Godfather II?:
Roth always made money for his partners."
Their is much speculation over the apparent languishing of the share price. No doubt some are selling, for their own reasons, and most likely there are those who are accumulating, biding their time and not caring to buy except at the lowest price they can, and willing to wait until revenues and more public statements of firm marketability are shown. No doubt also large investment firms are probably under certain constraints not to be able to buy any stock in any company not yet profitable and/or on the Nasdaq.
While no one knows exactly why the share price remains under pressure, the progress of the company is undeniable. This new deal opens the huge Chinese (and probably Southeast Asian) markets to QDs in displays, lighting, and solar. The investment group is experienced in working (and has needed connections) with the Chinese business community and government, and is funding the joint development with their own $20 million. This and their needed expertise in the difficult process of entering such a market is well worth the sharing of 50% of the profits. China is a strange business environment, a free market more and more in some ways, with government ministers of various industries often 'suggesting' that such and such ventures should be pursued; thus, these investment people, if what they claim is true, could be worth their weight in gold, leading to may deals coming our way. Just my opinion.
This deals fruition may very well also spur companies sitting on the fence to get on board with their own QDs/QMC JVs lest they be left in the lurch.
good points, trevorbc
Well, not as grandiose as all that, but a mercury retrograde is an approximately three`week period, a couple of times a year, when messages, communications, correspondences, reports, plans, deals,. etc., can be delayed until the retrograde is over. Which in this case is Jan. 25. Obviously the whole world does not stop, but it is an interesting/amising time in this regard, and I noticed it and mention it for the sake of PR and stock guessing. Example: when I worked for Burroughs years ago, one time the mainframe went down, and only came back on-line the day mercury went direct.
Just for curiosity's sake, a retrograde Mercury goes direct on Jan 25
That might account for a few investors, but anyone with an investment in the stock would be somewhat suspicious of those who ONLY seem to continually point out the possible negatives - and seem to have plenty of free time and the motivation to do it.
Posing legitimate questions without sarcasm, accusation, and veiled and not-so-veiled complaints would be fine
