AZ Once again thank you so much for all the DD and support you offer. I can't believe it, but by your explanation I was able to piece everything together but one. I understand stand now about common escrow. my only question is, what will go to preferred escrow, will it be one time, if at all, and will common escrow keep getting disbursements, because the are at the waterfall, and will coop get anything besides a ongoing dividend.
Again, thank you friend.
Cura asada
That would be incredible. who ever sees it first, race to post it!
I remember when it was the WAMU board and when COOP board was created.
(Dang, I am showing my age.Lol) I also remember the players. Thank goodness the good ones stayed, and yes, we know who those people are and are grateful for their DD and giving nature.
You are a great person Mufa.
Counting down the days...
JESTIRON Thank you for being a insightful, positive poster. Appreciate your assistance.
Thank you JWW for the uplifting post. Can't wait till Thursday. YIPPEE.
Thank you Royal Dude Sir. Have a great day fishing.
Thank you.
Just because some people may be incorrect or misguided, that does not justify condemnation. I reserve condemnation for Hitler, not for fellow posters. If there were posters who intentionally chose to mislead, that's on them. I have far too great of a life to become a hater ever.
My hope is that when the money comes in all will be rewarded for their investment and for waiting it out these 12 long years.
I will wish my honey could have been here to share in the joy and be proud of his girl.
(Please save the energy of responding that a woman should not be referred to as a "girl".) I loved being his girl. I love being happy.
All the money in the world will not make some people happy. What a shame.
There are many wonderful people in my life that have zero escrow shares, and they could greatly use assistance as well as charities that I donate to.
My wanting to give something to those people that have gone out of their way to help me and others on this board is not about need but respect and appreciation.
So many people do not recognize or make reference to the kind acts of others. I prefer to show my gratitude and to not take people for granted.
Why is it that even when people are being kind or helpful there are people on this board calling them out for it?
Some people must have nothing better to do than to create drama.
May distributions be enough to pay for some people's badly needed therapy.
Thank you Royal Dude for your quick response.
BTW, when our money comes in, it would be my pleasure and honor to gift you, AZ,and a few others with something special that you would find as an appropriate gift for your DD and relentless support and mentoring.
Based on what you put at the bottom of your posts, you would probably like something regarding fishing.
Thank you again dear sir.
Royal Dude Sir
PPS= $428 for what???
Sorry. Trying to keep up with you sir.
AZ you are definitely one smart guy. Me and The Japer very much appreciate the clarification that you Royal Dude, Andy, and others have been so kind to share with us. Very exciting times ahead.
The Japer, have no worries. You have preferred and common escrow shares and will do great. It's a windfall no matter how you look at it.
Royal Dude, AZ, and Andy
Now I am confused again.
I thought when we signed releases the 75/25 structure in the release agreement superceded the original structure of fixed and not fixed shares. I thought in lieu of us being paid what the values of the shares were, the purpose was a splitting of the differences going forward. That preferred and common now are part of the waterfall. Commons could have been treated secondarily to preferred. instead we are all equal other than the 75/25.
I also thought that 2.5 actually goes to coop and that is taken from escrow common.
Please explain in layman's terms. Thank you.
Andy you have made my year. What a brilliant breath of air you are. Dang am I impressed. I am overwhelmed by your knowledge and willingness to share.
Thank you for your chivalry kind sir.
Andy sir
Would I just pay taxes directly for newly received shares and money, because the escrow is in my account now, or would it be applied against the estate taxes since his estate was less than the amount allotted by law to be tax free.
Should I keep the estate open for tax purposes.
I greatly appreciate picking your very fine brain.
You are an angel to be so helpful to a damsel.
Thank you so very for your kindness Andy sir.
I will read what is on the link you so generously shared. Sadly it was in June of 2018. His whole estate is under 2m. The cost of escrow shares was roughly $175,000. Does this information assist you in what my responsibilities would be.
Wish I could have him instead of the shares.
Andy sir. Very exciting to hear your wisdom and knowledge. Answers many questions that some of us were having difficulty with.
I have an unusual, but very relevant question that pertains to myself. Would greatly appreciate it if you could assist.
If someone inherited their preferred and common escrow shares, how do the income tax laws pertain to receiving additional shares and distributions. The shares have been moved to my account.
Thank you Andy sir.
Thank you Royal Dude sir.
Thank you Large Green sir.
Royal Dude Sir
With the numbers you have mentioned what would that equate for escrow preferred and commons based on your post.
Thank you sir.
Royal dude love you keeping all of us pumped up for our HUGE payday.
GO4...GREAT JOB.
ROYAL DUDE AND DISTRO
Based on the below information I found, does it signify that there are no taxes for us to pay on REITS.
I know I am not retaining you as my attorney or CPA. Just curious what your thoughts are.
Tax benefits – REITs that distribute at least 90% of taxable income each year enjoy tax transparency treatment by IRAS (subject to certain conditions). Individual investors who receive these distributions also enjoy tax-exemption treatment.
Transparency and flexibility – You can access information on REIT prices and trade REITs throughout the trading day.
Investing in REITs versus property stocks
Although both are property-related, there are some differences between investing in REITs and investing in property stocks.
Most REITs have annual managers’ fees, property management fees, trustees’ fees and other expenses that will be deducted from their income before distributions are made.
REITS Property stocks
Business focus
Investment in income-generating properties
Generally property related, but may diversify into other unrelated activities or industries
Custody of properties
Properties are held on trust by an independent trustee
Properties are held by the company
Dividend policy
Must pay out at least 90% of taxable income each year to enjoy tax transparency treatment by IRAS
Subject to the decision of the board
Investment and leverage guidelines
Subject to Appendix 6 of the Code on Collective Investment Schemes
None
Tax-exempt income (dividend)
Yes
Management fees*
Yes
Thank you gentlemen.
Thank you for the help Distro and Royal Dude. You save another damsel.
AMEN RD. FROM YOUR MOUTH TO GOD'S EARS.
Royal Dude
Could you please so kind as to explain REIT 90% RULE to a novice. Thank you sir.
I am so happy that people on this board don't find it necessary to single me out. Even when I do not agree with someone's negative post, or their doom and gloom synopsis, I focus on the fact that we are all peers, and we will all end up with a very large payday.
It takes less effort to ignore, than it does to make an effort to post back.
Very glad to look at life through the eyes of a winner, than a loser.
Thank you for post JWW.
Large Green
I haven't seen you post in awhile. Always looked forward to reading your posts. I am very glad to know you are still around. I was concerned. Be well.
Royal Dude
Thank you very much for being an informative mentor, and yet a very kind, gentle soul. It was very thoughtful of you to respond so quickly, because I was concerned that after this very long wait, I may miss out on something of great importance by not being aware that there is time- sensitive paperwork that needs attending to. That would be quite disconcerting after having waited so long.
I am very much looking forward to all of us celebrating the wonderful moments that are coming in the next few months. Again, thank you kind sir.
Royal Dude Sir
Please except my apology in advance. I promise I am doing all that I can to follow the outstanding DD of the brains on this board. I still have my training wheels on due to a brain surgery. I am very much wanting to someday be even remotely close to your outstanding brilliance.
Does your reply mean that I should or should not fill out an application for the Libor, even if I didn't receive a letter, for my escrow preferred and common? Again, thank you for being an awesome teacher. I had once been a business teacher, and it was my honor and privilege to be a mentor.Hod bless you RD.
Your faithful student.
AZ Forgive my lack of knowledge. I am reading everything that you posted, the boards, and all news articles. When I purchased my preferred and common during the bankruptcy, I did sign the release. I had brain surgery a few years prior to that, and am still learning to catch up with all of you brilliant people and get my bug girl panties on. Lol. I hopefully will be where you are someday with knowledge. I didn't receive any letter as some people have recently posted. Is that because I am already being taken care of by my releases? Is there anything I need to do with regard to the libor settlement? Sorry sir for not being as informed as yourself. It is not for lack of trying. Thank you kind sir?
AZ Thank you so very much for the clarification. as always, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Your generous nature is wonderful.
AZ Cowboy Sir
Does the Libor settlement have anything to do with Washington Mutual preferred and common? Thank you.
Royal Dude Sir
Does this settlement pertain to owner of escrow preferred and/or common Washington Mutual? Thank you as always for being of enormous assistance.
They have same earnings date as well. The amount of daily trades is significantly different, and so is the maintenance requirements.
Boarddork
I love the manner in which you hold back your thoughts. lol
Great eye Royal Dude sir.
Clawmann sir. I would just enjoy the wonderful, exciting times that are in front of you. I wouldn't waste a precious moment of my life trying to defend your position. If you enjoy discussing the shares you have, that's fine. If you don't, that's fine too. Let's all stay focused that we are peers all hoping for a great outcome. Perhaps the very, long awaited payoff is frustrating to some, and they direct that frustration, unfortunately, at their peers. We are all on the same journey. Let's make the WAMU trip, a journey of encouragement and kinship. Today, we are one day closer to what we all have been waiting for. Your peer sir.
Go4. Your posts are most helpful. I very much enjoy reading your opinions. I think you may want to delete the statement about marriage from your posts, because it is not reflective of the positive information that you generously share with all of us. You are far too kind of a man to end your posts with that assertion. Thank you again for all that you do kind sir.
