Sold XYBR (bid/ask locked for half hour, unusual), Bought MSSN.
Good profit on XYBR, MSSN @1.98 ended up a plus.
Liz, $2.20 on MSSN would not be a bad profit (min.).

Liz, Please, have another, on me...pom (plenty of martinis)
Liz, This is Happy Hour, so I have to ask...
What's not your "fav position"?
Oh, you were speaking about MSSN!
Sorry (sort of). )

Got it. eom
Ron,
Those Pringle cans would be great. Maybe some left over preservatives will keep me up & running longer. :)
You don't like Verizon?
Since I moved out of NY before their debut, I have not had direct experience with them of late. But, as the old Bell Atlantic/Nynex, they were the best in the country.
BellSouth is literally run on a string. Their equipment is so old, that when it finally goes, it takes them years to upgrade all the connections.
If we're ever sitting around somewhere (home, bar, tiki hut,...), remind me to tell you my BellSouth stories. You will not believe them, but they're all true. I am on record with them as having the worst phone problem in BellSouth's history (& that's saying something).
~PhonelessFred
Jake, I cannot keep up with you...
You must have about 10,000 stocks in your portfolio.
I'm just catching up to CIO...ok, sold it.
My Etch-A-Sketch is good for charting...oh, no, that's just a staircase I drew while I was spinning the knobs.
:}
~Fetch-A-Fred
Sold OPWV/Marcos,
Had to sell my longest, short-term holding. (Do I hear the word oxymoron...or just moron...) Just could not look at it anymore.
Marcos, I'll have to upgrade to that... I am presently using an Etch-A-Sketch hooked up to my Flintstone Phone. Talk about slow.............
~FredFlintstone
OK, I need to borrow...
Two cans, a wire, some cable, and a bit of lightning that anyone has lying around.
Boy, what a morning...first, the cable went out, then the phones, then all of the power.
Got FPL trucks, Adelphia (the worst cable company in the country) trucks, and I don't even want to speak about BellSouth...all over the development.
Electric back on, phones shaky, cable will be out for at least two days...did you get that, Two Days! They're, supposedly, upgrading to digital...huh?...digital! They upgraded to digital, back in NY, ten years ago!
Let's start a rumor of a buyout of Adelphia and/or BellSouth. These two should not be left to run themselves.
[As I'm typing this, a guy is tearing up my front lawn - that's where the cable is buried. Looks like I picked the wrong day to work out of my house. :( ]
~~My rant for today~~
~PowerlessFred
Jake/Liz,
I know the temptation is there, but I try to avoid the "looking back unless I'm in it syndrome."
It can drive you crazy if you let it.
Kinda like watching a slot machine after you played it awhile, and seeing the next player hit the jackpot.
I woulda shoulda shut up now...
~FredCoulda...
Angiella,
Did you set up your "Favorites" page yet?
If not, set it up and add to it as you go. It will probably be the main page you will use to get around (top of page, toward the right).
As you get around this place, you'll see alot of other neat little tools & features that help you navigate around.
Sleeping here most nights, I learn quite a bit...
~F8
Angiella/New Posters,
Welcome to you & all the new posters.
This is the former Techpicks board from RB. We discuss our stock picks as well as related market indices and overall affects to our positions.
Since many of us have been around each other for a while, we can tango off in other directions from time to time, but it is mostly to help or inform each other, or for humor's sake.
I am not familiar with Diggy, or what you mean by the rest, but you're certainly welcome to try it here, as long as it does not go too far astray for too long (too long being the key there, unless it's after hours or on the weekend), and, of course, does not start any OT conflicts (political or otherwise) or hurt/insult anyone.
If you have any questions...don't ask me, I'm just the homeless person sitting in the doorway of this board, trying to learn something. :)
(Just kidding, of course, ask away...)
Best, Fred
Mokew, You almost missed our housewarming party.
ON2 is a monster. Where it stops...I dunno...but, it may be a scary place after that...
I'm sticking with WBR awhile yet...
~F8 over & out
Yes, Rheeman, the low volume is a plus, IMHO.
Huge volume would have had me runnin' for the exits...

%^) Good post Liz (I feel totally settled in now).
(Dr. Doolittle?!?)
Jake/Liz,
Jake, while I am very comfortable here, you may want to wait a bit to subscribe. I just want to see how iHub handles the new volume of posters I believe they are getting.
RB removed the pop-ups for a while today and, while it was noticeably faster, the tools still did not function (& the bashers are becoming the mainstay over there). The VIVI group took advantage today to turn the tables on the VIVI bashers.
I don't think you can go wrong subscribing though. I just want to see how the shakeout occurs between boards over the next few days or so.
Liz, the fence is relatively comfortable, and allows me to slide easily from one side to the other.
I don't think things will be too bad as yet. A bit of overreaction to Greenie, Yahoo, and necessary pullbacks seemed to be the order of the day.
Final Word: Jake, your two picks look pretty good after a cursory glance.
I believe Matt & Co. will keep these boards cool. They have a great opp. to expand now, and Matt seems to be on the case directly.
~F8 over
Jake, How are your boards looking...

Jake,
Do you see your name on the home page of iHub (click on HOME above)?
At the top of the box, click on Investors Hub Video Feed, then, in the box that says Celebrate good times, click on Watch Video (even though it's an Audio).
Doesn't Mac have an equivalent to Windows Media or RealPlayer?
If not, click on Transcripts on the top of the page, and you can read the quote of you.
~F8
Yo Jake, As I kept digging on Bubblevision, I found an audio that basically poses market questions and then answers by quoting iHub posters.
IOW, it poses the question of what will keep the market going (in the middle of an established thread of thought), then answers something like, "Well, Jakespub says...".
Pretty cool if you like to hear yourself quoted out loud.
~FScript
Oh, OK, took a little digging on bubblevision:
"So what will get it back in the groove?" Jakespub posted . . .
"Have confidence. YHOO's earnings are going to provide the fuel. That along with continued strength in Financials. All, IMO. FWIW"
(Though, I'm not sure who asked the question.)
You're now Jakes(famous)pub, at least for 15 minutes...
~(not yet)FamousFred
Hey Jake,
Your name (Jakespub) is on the iHub Home page (center, toward the bottom), but I don't exactly know why...
Why?
Looks good anyway.
~F8
Finally...EAG...Fly...eom
Jake,
From the SwingTrade(SWING) board here, originally from RB. The board members (like many others), are making their way from RB over to here.
He also likes XYBR.
In the past, I have agreed with many of their picks & charts.

No argument here Mokew (WBR)...
If they can sustain & possibly build a momentum (esp. w/asset sales & positive PR's) till earnings next month, this would be a good time to buy (or add), IMHO. (Looks like bottom in around .45.)
And, btw, your mom knows Marcos?
Best to All, & All get Healthy & Strong, Vitamin F8
Geez, Are we all falling apart?!
Pass the nitro...
I'm just gonna ignore any health problems from now on (they just take up too much of my time & energy, and give me nothing in return :/ ).
Btw, Liz, that was Marcos, not Mokew (maybe the eye doctor is next - oh boy - lol).
~FrEd8
Liz, I guess Rocky's driving? eom
Much good luck Liz...
You are excused from class tomorrow if you do not feel up to it (but, of course, feel free to stop by if you're coherent).
Seriously, hope it goes well.
Best, Fred
Oh, Jake, that's right (I forgot for the moment).
I believe you got in around .61 or so, just before the Russell shuffle.
Hang in there (I'll try to send more friends & family to Wyndham to boost revenues).
:)
~HotelF8
Thank you Jake (WBR).
(Although for me it would be averaging up - which can be a good thing.)

Wyndham Announces Sale and Restoration of the Bourbon Orleans - A Wyndham Historic Hotel
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 2003--
Restoration To Maintain Hotel's Historical Structure and
Re-establish Property as A Jewel of the New Orleans' French Quarter
Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) announced the recent sale of the Bourbon Orleans - A Wyndham Historic Hotel, to St. Ann Lodging, LLC for approximately $14.3 million. Located in New Orleans, the Bourbon Orleans remains in the Wyndham-branded portfolio through a 20-year management agreement with the new owners and is currently undergoing a $12 million restoration slated for completion in early 2004. The sale to St. Ann Lodging, a partnership led by New Orleans businessmen Joseph Jaeger and Paul Flower, marks Wyndham's third franchise agreement in Louisiana and is the third business agreement between Wyndham and Paul Flower.
"This sale continues our plan of selling non-strategic assets that de-leverage the company while keeping them in our brand portfolio through new management or franchise agreements," said Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer for Wyndham. "Our partnership encompassing two other New Orleans hotels has been mutually beneficial, and we expect the same level of success for the Bourbon Orleans."
Restoration highlights include refurbishment of all guestrooms and suites, restructured hallways with raised ceilings, expanded and revitalized meeting space, a new entrance and a re-designed lobby area. Many authentic decor embellishments will remain, including the original chandeliers, sconces and light fixtures, authentic Queen Anne and Chippendale furniture, hand-carved woodworking, antique ballroom draperies and carpets and a revitalized historic ballroom.
Located in the heart of the French Quarter, the Bourbon Orleans boasts a history rich in New Orleans style and culture. Envisioned as a grand new hall to outshine the two other theaters of New Orleans at the time, the Orleans Theater first opened in 1813, only to be destroyed by fire three years later. In 1817, under the management of John Davis, the rebuilt theater opened once more, along with a new wing called the Orleans Ballroom. Davis and the Orleans Theater introduced grand opera to New Orleans, and the site was the place for Creole New Orleans to see and be seen. Although the Orleans Theater burned in 1866, the attached ballroom survived and remains part of the structure today. Later the scene of quadroon balls, the ballroom eventually became a convent of the Sisters of the Holy Family and an orphanage for African-American children. In 1964, pressed by a need for expanded facilities, the Sisters sold the property to hotel interests.
Situated at the intersection of Bourbon and Orleans Streets, the 216-room Bourbon Orleans is just steps away from well-known New Orleans landmarks such as Jackson Square, Pat O'Brien's, Saint Louis Cathedral and the French Market. More than 5,000 square feet of meeting space includes five flexible meeting rooms and can accommodate groups of up to 350 people.
In addition to the Bourbon Orleans, Wyndham's New Orleans portfolio includes the 437-room Wyndham New Orleans at Canal Place; the 202-room Wyndham Riverfront; the 93-room Whitney - A Wyndham Historic Hotel and the 182-room Wyndham Metairie.
Wyndham International, Inc. offers upscale and luxury hotel and resort accommodations through proprietary lodging brands and a management services division.
