Still here from the good old GOIG and Ike Sutton days. What an odd ride.
Well well well, back at it again after 10 years...
Routing through (706) GA - just tried Go800 to see if it even exists and it still works, but now routes through GA instead of NY...interesting. There have been no updates for a year, but the service is still live...wonder who's paying for it? Does GoCom even exist other than now owining the rights to Go800 and I'm assuming like myself, no one has shares or any idea about that?
Cheers.
Go800 Patent is Published:

...from John Rafuse's Twitter:
“@johnrafuse: Stopped by NY. It's very hot. In good ways. Working with some fine people to get things done. Did I mention it was hot? Melting...”
I think it might be a case of the cart before the horse (in a roundabout way), i.e. Go800 is has a stronger presence or possible a more put together feel that it's parent. Until the necessary steps are taken by the parent (which I hope they in parallel to the Go800 marketing) to be in the position they need to be, it's best for the public reveal not to happen.
Geek.com posted the NYT article and linked to the Wired.com article (and Go800corp).
(not sure if this has been posted, but it shows as 8th @ 3:00pm)

Exactly!
I'm glad you and Dream are watching this too!
No one's interested in someone with 111,000 followers posting about Go800? Or the two Tech people after him with 10,000 and 12,500 from the last 24 hours?
Invested? Follow Twitter! I have never considered Twitter, but I signed up to follow Go800 and you can follow the pace of the growth. There is a member 'Coachforyou' that has 111,000 followers that has two entries about the release. He's not using @Go800, he's using #GOIP and #Go800 to trend the words.
Thanks for posting Brendan - always nice to have a dose of reality!
The pricing tiers are poorly thought out at best - if you consider that the plan was to introduce the service to the masses and have individuals adopt it, thereby forcing companies to then adopt it, we could fall flat at the first hurdle.
I mentioned last night that was impressed with the usability/dashboard/analytics and that I planned on adopting it as the 'live' method of contacting me for a seasonal marketing and management operational and backhandedly introducing it to 500 people...well, at the advertised pricing I will not be doing that (unfortunately).
I beileve you, like, totally, mean 'clique'.
is it @charliesheen? Go800 could do with an injection of #tigerblood.
Signed Up - My Impressions!
I don't know how many have signed up and have taken a good look around what Go800 has beyond sending the actual text and wondering to the board why we all haven't made a million dollars, but it is very impressive. The website is excellent and very simple, the dashboard and analytics are clear and user friendly and will provide an excellent amount of information to interested individuals and businesses (when that hopefully happens). There is a feedback tab that takes you to support where you can post/respond/and comment on users questions or problems or you can post/respond/and comment on ideas and suggestions for the service. The questions seem to have been answered quickly and I will let you know how they respond to my idea of having a fairly deep history tab in the web/mobile app so you can select a previously used keyword (so you don't always have to type).
I signed up for twitter for a seasonal sales and management operation I run that has about 500 contacts, which will no longer get my phone number, they will be informed of my keyword (named after the project) in order to get in touch with me. I recommend we all sign up and show as many people as we can (even if it is just for the 90 day trial) instead of wondering why we aren't retiring this week. You can and should be a part of the organic growth if you plan on holding the stock.
If he's been throwing around the weight that he talked about on here, then he's been making some serious money over there too...
Mobile App - now I see where you guys are. This is what I did, not sure if it works for me because I have used the mobile site before. I would recommend that if people can get up and running on their smartphones, we all do so to use and educate people on the service.
When it asks for your phone number, put it in and then click 'forgot password?' and it will send you a password (more so a key to verify you are trying to activate), enter that password with your phone number and you are sent a full password. You can then log in and customize your password if you choose. When you have completed that you are logged in with your phone number as your 'user name' and it's ready to roll in safari.
When you log in for the first time, it will remind you to press the + button to put a bookmark on your iPhone named Go800 - the 'app' will change from the website image to the yellow G logo and you have your app! After signing in all you have to do is enter your keyword and you're away. If you close out the browser window and reopen it later using the web app on your iPhone, it will open like a webpage, but you are still logged in and it will be ready for your keyword! The bottom of the webpage shows links for 'edit account for ###-###-####' and 'sign out'.
This seems like a lot of steps, however when you know that you have to hit 'forgot password?' to get moving you should be okay. If this doesn't work for you and you aren't sent a password by Go800, let me know and I'll email in to see what the difference is, or if Brendan reads this, he may be able to pass on an explanation.
Cheers.
It shouldn't. I must have made a mistake with the link. I did mine today and use the /app address...I can't fin the mistake, as I am redirected to the Go800 Dashboard when I use the /app link.
The web app is actually pretty damn cool. I just keep it open in my browser and use it when I need to contact major companies...the Bank, Insurance, etc...
http://go800corp/app
This should take them to the log in where they are texted a temp passord and then a permanent one (after verification) that they can then customize. It recommends that you put it at a bookmark on your home screen, which it delivers with a proper icon as a web app...looks crisp and work perfectly on my AT&T iPhone.
It also says Enter a Voice Keyword(TM) or Twitter Username.
What keyword did you text to 46800?
I was just about to say that, it's a bit tricky to follow.
This is awesome.
TV's like the boards very own pricing support MM.
That was the funniest 30 minutes I've seen on this board.
Great way to finish strong, get some attention, and gain some more/new momo!
sub 50's, nom nom nom nom, delicious, nom nom nom nom.
I've got you there, my question was how are they allowed to manipulate a price?
I was going to ask, how can a MM legally 'control' or 'direct' the price of a stock? I know we are in PennyLand, but with the $150MM+ fund...
Brendan, run with that.
Where there is money to be made, someone has to make it. They know that.
That was one of the few times I've laughed out loud from a post on this board! Amazing.
what is your facebook page?
Person mark - your decision making and record are strong. Did you have to tell your wife what you made on GOIG after the first run?
You can allude to me all day, I like your calls.
Why do you think they would give up $25K before audited financials, outside of the reasoning that $25K is not very much money? Putting in a keyword and recording an update probably doesn't take very long - it's not something they would have to get in line to do.
Do you think it was a way to force audits?
Go GOIG!
Honest answer, what is it, because I know what it is.
What is it?
Also, the discussion about deferred revenue is being confused with the value and ability to to market the restricted stock. The revenue and the value of the stock are different things when it come to accounting for them in the financial statements. I would be fairly confident that they couldn't market (and sell) shares that were payment for services that have't yet been performed. For $25,000 for three years, that is $695 per month.
Go GOIG! I'm totally with you here and I think all of this discussion is very helpful and very healthy!
I'm with you - the revenue is coming from somewhere (we hope!), we just don't know where beyond the info that we were given. We have heard for a while that a limited amount of information can be disclosed...I'm with you and am looking forward to that disclosure because if it's what we hope it will be...game on.
About the revenue:
It's deemed 'deferred' because it is payment for services not yet performed (unrecognized/unearned revenue, etc). The restricted stock is for a 3 year campaign (as best I remember), so the unrecognized revenue (or deferred rev) is on the balance sheet as a liability and noted as unrecognized on the income statmens as they haven't performed the services. It will be recognized as earned revenue in portions, most likely monthly or quarterly. I do not believe it has anythign to do with the nature of the stock being restricted. Being restricted versus marketable securities will change how the value (good or bad) is accounted for in the financial statements.
I hear you and I truly hope so, however I don't see why management wouldn't financially account for, and parade those companies as being participants in the campaign and providers of $25K in restricted stock.
Either way...there is at least $1MM of deferred revenue that we can't identify by digging through the available information.
