Motorola Mobility will be shutting down its factory in Fort Worth, Texas by the end of the year, in advance of Lenovo's purchase of the unit from Google.
The factory, which assembles Motorola's flagship Moto X Android phone and only opened in May 2013, will be closed down due to weak sales by Motorola and high manufacturing costs.

Can you please name a smart phone that is made in the USA?
Why is it a problem to manufacture electronics in China?
How did it work out for Motorola to have phones made in US?
Have to respectfully disagree with your suggestion that a lot of people were buying and selling in the same day today.
When it resumed trading after the halt it went back down to the $8.15 area where it stayed in a pretty tight range the rest of the day.
I think today's news proves that investors now know that EFOI is going to be a profitable LED company despite all of the problems of the past.
The promises we have heard on the conference calls are finally coming true.
This is not another fake pink sheet penny stock.
The R/S of the common AND the reduction in Authorized shares by 10 to 1 was a smart move.
Go EFOI !!!
Have you noticed that the statistics for the St. Raymonds EcoPole have been stuck at the exact same numbers for months?
Just 7 KwHs generated by the wind turbine since it was installed is kind of sad.
Maybe the wind turbine blew off like many of the others.
Why don't you jump on the 6 train and head up to the Bronx and take a picture of it tonight?
Here is a google image of another broken EcoPole.
YIke's!
I've never purchased an Apple product and never will.
They turned me off with the "I'm a Mac Vs I'm a PC" ad campaign long ago.
Apple sells elitism very well and there are lots of people happy to spend money on status symbols.
I say let's profit from them instead of bashing the technology and hating Tim Cook. (tons of people hated Steve Jobs too)
AAPL is a great stock.
Seems like Mr G owes the ZombieAgent 10K$
on 7/24 he wrote;
"Ill bet you 10k$ though pay pay this will see $89 before $100.
lol..
apple is in a bear market..period... "
Kind of like his calls on Twitter and Amazon
A great contrarian indicator. Do the opposite of his posts and make $$$$
According to the dictionary a "Fad is an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities; a craze."
Apple has been an extremely profitable corporation for many years by selling quality products.
NOT A FAD
Exactly right. Who cares if somebody thinks Android is better. I've never seen anybody camp outside of a store for days at a time waiting for a new Samsung or Motorola phone.
AAPL has very loyal customers who are conspicuous consumers and are willing to pay a premium.
ABC teases coverage of tomorrow's 'historic' Apple Event
"We're less than a day away from what feels like the biggest Apple product launch in a while and while we're getting pummeled by tons of speculative posts and stories, no one really has an idea of the magnitude of this announcement except ABC. Their promo above teases a historic announcement and it seems that they've gotten an exclusive. If you're not excited about 'the invite from Apple sent around the world,' this should get you amped."

Seems like it would be difficult to build EcoPoles in a cubicle in Manhattan.
"The lack of capital negatively impacted the Company’s operations causing the Company to terminate and vacate its leased business facilities in Maryland, New York and in Virginia.
Currently the Company occupies an office in New York City in a shared office environment on a month to month basis".
http://www.otcmarkets.com/edgar/GetFilingHtml?FilingID=8821347
As reflected in the financial statements, the Company incurred net losses of $3,169,275 for the six months ended June 30, 2012. In addition, the Company has incurred an accumulated deficit amounting to $50,673,593. The Company has generated minimal revenues and has minimal cash resources.

"In addition, due to the lack of capital, the Company entered into a settlement agreement with P2I to cancel the license agreement, return the P2I equipment.."

Read SAVW's filings and stop posting false statements.
Your last post should be removed by this board's moderator as it is a violation of the TOS.
Good luck selling your shares.
The stock price climbed over 40% in the last 12 months.
It dropped a meager 4% last week and everyone is freaking out.
AAPL is the same company today as it was last Monday.
Maybe it was a case of "Buy The Rumor - Sell The News" since we all know now that the long awaited new products will be unveiled on Tuesday.
Watching the SAVW scam play out was one of the most fascinating boards I've ever read on I-Hub.
The debate between the pumpers and those who knew all along it was a scam (due to their history watching the CEO run other scams) was very entertaining.
Everything the skeptics said came true and the pumpers kept getting more desperate.
Remember the guy who went to the "factory" and counted how much toilet paper was in each stall to determine that it was a legit company? Awesome.
Now to see someone come along and try to pump this again is comical.
He needs to buy some Beamers from SavWatt and "Taste The Bulb"
SAVW had to return the P2i machine back in 2012.
From the 6/30/12 Form 10Q
"In addition, due to the lack of capital, the Company entered into a settlement agreement with P2I to cancel the license agreement, return the P2I equipment and thus release the Company of all obligations under the contract"
I suggest going back and reading the postings here and reviewing the filings.
SAVW was an elaborate scam. They had a fake factory in Baltimore and used the P2i machine as a prop. They brought in people from a sheltered workshop to act like they were assembling LED products. Never paid the workshop and ended up in one of many lawsuits.
Total scam. Avoid.
In some ways it was the LED Technology that failed CYBL.
They spent millions to get the rights for "Scattered Photon Extraction" and developing "Hybrid Lighting Technology" with the hopes of licensing it to large OEM manufacturers.
That put them deep into debt with a toxic financier.
Unfortunately the licenses never happened.
The debt was converted to equity and the share price has since been destroyed.
The CEO explained it clearly in his letter from 2011
"For the foreseeable future, the Company will continue to require the issuance of equity as the ongoing means of satisfying this debt settlement.
In effect, this debt repayment will be an ongoing dilutive event and the CYBL share price will
continually reflect the increasing amount of stock outstanding, as more equity is issued to satisfy the payable"
"Control4 makes a perfect takeover target, Brian Kelly of Brian Kelly Capital said, noting Google's purchase of thermostat maker Nest.
"They bought it because it's a portal into the home," he said. "So, who else out there needs a portal into the home? Well, certainly, Apple has a ton of cash that they need to spend. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take this one out."
Kelly is long Control4 via options"

I think that article makes the exact opposite point.
The buy back has had a massive effect on pps and will continue to do so.
"And according to a recent report in Bloomberg, Apple's stock buybacks and its subsequent impact on the company's share price is unrivaled.
The iPhone maker is up 25 percent since it spent $18 billion on its own shares between January and March and rallied 32 percent after a $16 billion buyback in 2013. Those are the highest four-month returns among the 20 biggest quarterly repurchases by any company since 1998, according to data compiled by Bloomberg and Standard & Poor's."
"Highlighting the massive scale of Apple's capital return program, Apple during the March 2014 quarter alone spent more money on stock buybacks than Google generated in revenue during the same period"
http://www.tuaw.com/2014/08/06/apples-stock-buybacks-spurred-massive-share-price-increase/
"During Apple's most recent earnings report, Apple CFO Luca Maestri noted: "We have now taken action on over $74 billion of our $130 billion capital return program with six quarters remaining to its completion.""
http://www.tuaw.com/2014/08/06/apples-stock-buybacks-spurred-massive-share-price-increase/
"With the majority of Apple's $130 billion capital return program centering on stock buybacks, Apple's share price has been on quite a roll as of late. And according to a recent report in Bloomberg, Apple's stock buybacks and its subsequent impact on the company's share price is unrivaled."
Is Apple losing to Samsung or other way around?
"Index heavyweight Samsung Electronics tanked over 2 percent after reporting a 25 percent fall in earnings during the second quarter from the year before."
cnbc.com
"Samsung Electronics (005930.SE -2.58%) is poised to report its third consecutive decline in operating profit Thursday, hit by a pile of unsold smartphones in markets like China and Europe.
Second-quarter market share data from IDC this week showed that among the top five vendors, only Samsung saw its smartphone shipments decrease from the year-ago period, squeezed by Apple’s iPhones in the high-end and cheaper phone makers."

Apple to Buy Radio App Swell for $30 Million
Apple is close to buying the Pandora-for-talk-radio app Swell, according to multiple sources.
http://recode.net/2014/07/27/apple-to-buy-radio-app-swell-for-30-million/
Thanks for such prescient advice.
You were right again; as always.
LOL
Can you elaborate on how "profits were down huge"?
AP reports that "Apple earned $7.7 billion, or $1.28 per share, for the three months ending June 28. That represented a 12 percent increase from income of $6.9 billion, or $1.07 per share, at the same time last year.
The earnings per share for the latest quarter exceeded the average estimate of $1.23 per share among analysts surveyed by FactSet.
Revenue rose 6 percent from last year to $37.4 billion — about $600 million below analysts' forecasts.
Thanks for the article.
Let's hope that EFOI can get it together and become a profitable company and a good stock.
So far I have a loss and then Scottrade just charged me a $20 fee for the "restructuring" of the shares due to reverse split.
Are you certain that GE is exiting lighting business? I know they are leaving the appliance business. The lighting division is getting ready to release new 100W equivalent LED bulbs soon.
EFOI appointing new board members should be good news.
Mass production of a 4.7-inch successor to the wildly popular iPhone 5 series of smartphones will begin during the third week of July, Taiwan's Economic Daily News said, without citing sources. Production of a 5.5-inch version will begin during the second week of August, it said.
A separate report issued Thursday by a China state-run news service said Hon Hai is planning to hire 100,000 workers at its mainland facilities to meet future demand for the gadget, citing comments made by the chief of the Henan Provincial Commerce Department

Most all of those products have been available for 6 years or so.
Why hasn't CYBL taken off yet?
"the technology group (AAPL) intend on using the prestigious "Swiss made" label to market its new gadget"..
"the watchmaker's sales director left as recently as last week, "to take a contract with Apple" in order to launch the iWatch"
"The Californian tech company, which is rumored to be releasing the hotly anticipated iWatch later this year, has tried to poach a number of employees from high-end Swiss watch makers without much success, according to analysts."
"Apple has hired the sales director of luxury Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer to help with the launch of its new iWatch"
http://www.cnbc.com/id/101812950
How much did CYBL spend on R&D last year developing these new products?
Also understand that ALL light source experience a loss of lumen output over time. Even incandescent bulbs.
Most consumers don't walk around with light meters and don't perceive the difference.
CREE is a solid company with about 38% gross margin and 70% EPS growth.
It's a $70 stock.
L70 is when the bulb is putting out 70% of maximum. (and thus are considered "dead")
If your bulbs have only lost 20% then they are at L80 and have plenty of life left.
It's not a linear depreciation.
Have you tested Philips, GE or Sylvania for comparison?
Did they have any ideas?

So what did you and the folks at CYBL talk about when you called?
What is the BBB and what does the rating mean?
Officers of a company giving "loans" with very high interest rates that are paid off by the company selling shares of common stock is standard operating procedure in Pinky Land.
One of CYBL's officers is owed almost as much interest as principal.
How can they come up with new products if they don't spend any money on R&D?
If the officer's believed in the company they would communicate with shareholders.
After following the instructions to do your own DD on CYBL - what did you find?
Why is it a good investment?
