BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2000-- MerchantOnline.com (OTCBB:MRTO - news; Frankfurt;WKZ928256) and (Berlin: WKZ928256), provider of secure credit and debit card processing for Internet e-tailers, announced today that it will demonstrate NewCash, the I-ATM solution for the Internet, at the Fall Internet World 2000 conference in New York, October 25-27 (please visit our booth no. 4455), at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
``For the first time in history, consumers can shop and surf the Internet with complete privacy, security and anonymity,'' said Tarek Kirschen, president and CEO of MerchantOnline. ``Consumers can purchase products or content at any price. Vendors can add e-commerce to their web site in minutes at no charge, with no required software or programming skills.''
NewCash is a new form of electronic cash to be used for securely purchasing products over the Internet. When a consumer acquires a NewCash Card, they can transfer money-- $10, $20, $50 or any other amount - to a digital card that functions as a real ATM card accepted by participating merchants throughout the Internet or in the real world. The NewCash card accepts micro-payment charges as low as one cent, ideal for pay-per-view and pay-per-click web sites.
Kirschen said ``We have already licensed the NewCash system to one company and have received substantial interest from many other parties about licensing the system.''
