PD, please tell me where you get all this information on Humphries, do you have an inside track on all his business dealings.
Probably because money can cure guilt as well, that is if you have conscious that is capable of feeling guilt which I really feel the Humphries "cabal" doesn't have. That's ok, if SH or CH has a need for money they know where/how to go to get it.
I live very close to the address listed for all the SH owned companies...maybe I could have a look around and see what I find
That would only work if SH was still running the company. If you look at EWKS and DLAD, he has already turned those over to his son to run. Makes one wonder if TFZI is next.
I for one would love to know what qualifications both Chris Humphries and Laura Napier bring to their respective positions. I did a quick search for San Antonio Fitness and Health and found nothing. And trying to do a search for Laura Napier turned up nothing as well. We know that Chris has been under SH's wing for at least 5 years in various capacities but know nothing else about him. Has he been going to school to learn how to manage a corporation, does he have any other experience leading a company besides what his dad put him in?
My thinking remains the same, SH put his kids in charge and he is staying on to do "special projects" so that he can collect on the payday while keeping a low profile.
I know this probably sounds like I am a basher. That is not the case. I am presenting the facts as I find them, but too many questions are being unanswered due to a lack of news.
Yes, SH stepped down in name only. This was in no way the same thing as when he stepped down from SSEV. He still has a very controlling influence over this company. Now if he had done the same with DLAD as he did with SSEV, then lots of people would be happy and I think that this stock would soar
I'm sorry, but if you honestly think that SH is out of the way I believe that you are mistaken. IMO SH issued the press release to let everyone think there was new blood running the company. The fact remains that his son is now in charge and his daughter is running the magazine and he is still onboard for special projects. He may not be calling all the shots, but I bet he will be a fixture around the office as long as there is money to be made
It's not his brother...it's his son. Just for clarification, Christopher Humphries is Steven's son. So Steven will continue to have a lot of influence you can be sure
Chris has been working with his dad since before DLAD. Basically, SH started Humphries Marketing Group in 2005. HMG bought DLAD. Since that time Chris has held various position within all of SH companies. IMO, SH will be pulling the strings.
Christopher is SH's son...and SH's daughter Laura is running the Health and Fitness magazine. Like I said earlier, he is keeping it in the family
I think I saw it on this post or on the TFZI board where someone had a conversation with SH. SH told that person that pinkies are a lotto play and not a long term investment...that inspires a lot of confidence
It would seem that all SH cares about is the payday...maybe it is to pay off convertible debt...or maybe it is to finance a new convertible...wonder if a Mercedes is worth all the shares put in to DLAD, TFZI and EWKS...
Sorry...just being a little cynical today after the run up and subsequent flatline
Wash I have no idea how you can be so optimistic with any SH company stocks when history points to the same pattern for this CEO...news in the way of PR, lots of volume, volume dries up and then a flatlined stock until SH needs more money...no offense to you, but where are you getting your info that news is on the way?
Well, at least Humphries is consistent keeping this in the family...his son Chris is a VP in several of his operations and now his daughter is running the Health and Fitness mag. Good luck to all
I have heard from an inside source that the launch date for the DFW Health and Fitness magazine has been pushed back to the summer because of Humphries inability to hire salespeople.
As for the consulting fees, that could be tied to another post that I had earlier regarding the management consulting company that is providing services to DLAD, TFZI and few other known Humphries companies. Makes me wonder if the "consulting" fees are going right back into the someone's (Humphries) pockets and then reported as a loss to stockholders. Just a thought as we are all trying to put together the pieces.
The link is to a linkedin profile for Connie Catinchi (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/connie-catinchi/6/a6a/322) but if you read on you will see that she works for Villam Partners. However, the domain for Villam is paid by Steven Humphries. Humphries even has a villampartners.com email...so go figure
If you look at Humphries history, and I have done my own research on this, his focus has always been on media/marketing. For instance if you look at www.humphriesmarketinggroup.com you will see that one of their partners was/is DealerAdvance. Before that he was COO of a company called Tri-Cabellero which catered to Hispanic entertainment. Before that he was heavily involved in radio going back to his days as a DJ at Z-93 radio in Atlanta (where he was known as Steve Rivers).
That being said, it would appear that he has reached out of his comfort zone to acquire companies where he dump stock, build a "fortune", and then retire. My guess is he is approaching 60 and wants to not work anymore. He already has his son Chris listed in all his businesses in some leadership aspect...so like I said...he is trying to get out of the game with some money in the bank and turn over the operation to his kids imho....
I for one am very curious as to the status of the new Health and Fitness magazine promised to come out in the first quarter of this year of which is coming to a close very soon....makes one wonder if there is such a magazine or if it was used to bolster the stock's future
Not that it means anything, but I did a quick check on FINRA's website and typed in the ticker symbol. No mention of a name change...maybe it would be worth a call to FINRA to verify...if that can be done
I had to do a double take to make sure of the information, but an in house counsel to all SH companies seems a little weird...essentially a company within a company.
This is all well and good, but from what I know of Steven Humphries, he will look at your questions and will have the opinion that he can run his company the way he wants....granted that may not be the case, but if he has attorney to act as a screen between him, FINRA and the stockholders he will use it to stall as long as possible until the real motives behind the pumping and dumping are evident
I did find on a linkd in profile that there is a management consulting company for all the companies that Humphries uses called Villam Partners (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/connie-catinchi/6/a6a/322)...might be interesting to see who is pulling strings (as in another question you could ask
So what is the status on any potential SEC investigation...I know that Humphries has been pumping and dumping for a while now on all his companies...didn't someone already file a complaint or two?
I have some good information that Humphries is planning to retire next year and hand off the operations of what is left of his company to his oldest kids. One of which is already the managing editor of the new Health and Fitness mag....wonder what that will do to the stock price....or has Humphries realized that he can't keep up this facade anymore and is trying to get out before the house of cards completely falls down but yet still retain his "hard earned" money
