Interesting take on the idea Q. I've been expecting some kind of either buyout offer or partnership offer from some big pharma once the peer review was done, but not until after the BLA was cooking with the FDA.
That's kind of my plan with the CVM shares I have in my non-Roth account.
Some time after the one year + one day timeline after they were bought - assuming we get good news in the Fall and Winter of 2022 - I will start selling those shares in small lots. I'll deal with the 20% Fed long-term gains, and unfortunately my State of MD will pull in another 15% capital gains because I have >$40K actual income. But if this swings up over $100/share, my long-term cost average in that account is about $5-6/share.
I'll gladly start taking some profits and while I will grumble about the taxes, I won't be grumbling too much.
Yep. That's about the size of it. That is AF's MO in a nutshell.
I guess we will see in a couple of days if there "is" anything to be PRed on Thursday. In the meantime, the price drop today after that news and after yesterday's run-up is hardly a surprise.
Agreed. Geert is many things - but he's not stupid. And anything that Adam F. publishes has to be viewed as slanted, self-serving, and most likely a half-truth.
Cool. That's where I have over half of my CVM shares - sitting in a Roth & just waiting for the endgame here. Nicely done Sir!
Is that $36K before, or after, accounting for short-term capital gains taxes? ;)
Bought some shares in my Roth account as a bit of a Birthday gift to myself at $3.27-ish. Topped off my 2021 Roth contribution limit and used that cash.
Me likey!
And still - a whole lot of nothing.
It'll be interesting on Thursday then - if Adam F's report is accurate. He's a putz, but he might actually have some useful information this time. In the meantime - this CVM little fish is going to enjoy the ride.
I bought some last week. I will likely buy some more in a week or two. Just like I bought some three weeks ago, and five weeks ago,...
That cost average just keeps on creeping down.
I'm just going to continue to take advantage of these low share prices. I just added another small set of shares at about $3.86 this morning. I've been doing that about every two-three weeks when I build up enough stray cash, and will plan to continue to do and drive down my cost average some more.
When the time comes - those playing the shorting game are not getting my shares - and I hope they get squoze until they pop.
This bit from the write-up lines up with what I have been guessing.
Possible news? Sure, why not? Probably news? Less sure. Likely news? Yes, eventually.
In the meantime - radio silence from the CVM management.
My guess - more than that on the open.
Man - that's a hell of a lot of volume before 10:00 am.
I would be 'nice' to see something concrete come out.
Yep. Ughh.
They must have found some easily corrected error?
That just might explain it. Thanks for the update.
Good question - my educated guess is 'no', but that's just a guess. I assume that the data is submitted primarily just means that they have done any final data cleaning and have provided summaries in preparation for the actual BLA-related meetings gets scheduled.
I would assume (yes - there's that word again) that does mean that some planning for that meeting is in the works.
Hey - it's progress - if slow progress.
Yep - submitted is a good thing.

Apparently as of March 18th. Seems to me that the company should have said something about this as it would seem like a material event.
Much like last week when it went up with no explanation to about $5,... now we are down like $0.50 for no explanation.
Looks like we're heading up again today. Good volume for the first less than an hour of trading and up like another 7%.
I added some yesterday at $4.05. And yes - I think it's going to work out well in the easily foreseeable future.
CVM is kind of in a slow spiral downwards while 'we' shareholders wait for the management to actually get something public started with the FDA. It's annoying - however, I have also been using this as an 'opportunity' to add shares at what I regard as a good price - assuming that the company doesn't fall flat on it's face stumbling through the FDA filing processes.
It's been pretty much radio silence from CVMs corporate front for a lot of months now. Hopefully that means they are quietly dotting the "I"s and crossing the "T"s & just plain getting the job done.
Much like AMPE - CVM have a potential product/drug that appears to have a useful and positive effect after completing the actual clinical testing. They both just need to get the next stage of the job done already.
I'm still buying small lots of shares to sit on, it's just that - for the time being - it's annoying to see it all so red.
UGLY trading day,... How about tossing the shareholders a bone or two management?
And expect the trend to continue unless Diwan finally does decide to do something useful.
Agreed and understood. I tend to buy speculative biotech/biomed stuff low and sit on it for a long time if necessary. That's my plan with AMPE as well. Am planning on adding some more shares next week when my next cash allocation in the trading account gets settled.
I've been sitting on a stash (and have added to it recently) of CVM for a bunch of years waiting for them to get their Phase III testing done, and their package submission to the FDA done. Phase III got done and data was read out last year - looks like there is a significant benefit to their cancer patients in at least one wing of their trial. Even after they get approval I may continue to hold part of that stash of CVM shares.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing the information.
Agreed. Just dismal.
Yeah - nothing on there about the COVID applications that I see either. The OAK data does look fairly promising though.
The share price beat-down still continues though.
Agreed. The lack of any comments about the COVID trials is getting annoying. However the OAK results for both pain reduction and mobility improvement are still quite good.
Maybe they will say something during the presentation about what is or is not up with the respiratory treatments?
Yeah - too quiet for too long. Some news of some kind would be appreciated. At least if there was 'bad' news we would know for certain to cut our losses and take our remaining investment somewhere else.
I bought another small block of shares again this afternoon. I'm not seeing anything to make me think that something 'bad' is happening with CVM.
It's just annoyingly slow - but you would think that I would be used to that by now with CVM. Ha!
Agreed - it's pretty much a useless article. No new news, only negatively slanted takes on CVM and it's future.
I bought some shares about 2 weeks ago. Plan to do the same every 2-3 weeks until we have news about the FDA meetings and biologics submissions.
And those shorting can't have my shares.
I don't know - late 2023 might be a possibility. It all depends on when the management actually does get a their FDA documents filed.
I think some big pharma might be interested. However, I also think that most of them are waiting to see if CVM falters or trips over itself before they start a negotiation. History of this company (not all their own fault) is filled with missteps and delays. If the company falters, then the potential buyout priced drops.
That being said - I think we see successful movement toward getting approval sometime before Q3 of this year.
Somebody with a bit of spare change to throw around.
Interesting speculation BB. At what price to you think that they might to buy us little fish out of COOP?
Also - since technically they would be buying out COOP with 'our' reorganized company's money,... What incentives might they have to give to ditch us small fish from the merged WMI/COOP?
