SEPR at its HOD. Any thoughts on its upside?
RLL
Zeev, are you still considering an OB on SEPR in the $25s?
BTJ - Second serving at 33.60. Hope I want it.
NTRI- Analyst Gregory R. Badishkanian lowered his price target to $81 from $90 and said in a note to investors that NutriSystem could be hurt as more dieters try the new GlaxoSmithKline weight-loss drug Alli. He estimates that more than 2 million people have tried Alli since it launched in mid-June.
"Though Alli sales have likely moderated since its intro, we think NutriSystem will be impacted in the near-term," he said. But he added that the company should be able to "overcome the threat in the long-run," particularly since Alli has potential side effects and less effective weight loss.
The drug, meant to be taken with meals, blocks the absorption of about one-quarter of any fat consumed. The fat is passed out of the body, sometimes resulting in loose stools.
Comparisons to last year's third-quarter results are also difficult, Badishkanian said. Last year, the company introduced a successful campaign with football legend Dan Marino to boost sales to men. The chain's profit skyrocketed, beating Wall Street expectations.
Badishkanian said regardless of whether the company is able to post solid results in the third and fourth quarters, investors should pay close attention to NutriSystem's first quarter, since it marks the start of diet season in January.
"We think the key is for NutriSystem to set themselves up for solid growth in 2008," he said.
NTRI, I joined you. Ouch.
Zeev, are you doubling down on VPHM in the $10 to $10.60 range?
Zeev,
Right again. VPHM at $11.50.
Zeev,
Are you still holding VPHM?
QCOM closed at a 3 year high today. Does this put QCOM in a new trading block? I am thinking of a range of $42 to $45. Quite frankly, I would like to buy more at the sub $36 level.
Zeev, do you see QCOM back in the $34s anytime soon? Sold second serving, looking for re-entry.
QCOM splits tomorrow. I do not know if that happens before or after the close. Therefor, I thought it safe to predict a sub $35 price next week.
I predict QCOM under $35 next week. [grin]
I don't understand the pounding on SNDK. They are up 118% over last year.
Good Luck. I added some QCOM today at 58.79. We'll see.
QCOM reports tomorrow. Zeev, do you have any thoughts on how to play QCOM through earnings?
RLL
QCOM - $60.00 is a tough nut to crack. I hope today is the day.
QCOM over $53. Zeev, do we have a new box here?
RLL
I got out of the BU$$ yesterday at $26.52, taking my $3.00 loss from that dump 2 days ago. I hope to get back in at a discount, say $24.50ish. We will see.
RLL
Re COCO, thanks for offering your strategy.
Zeev,
I had a GTC buy on the BU$$ at $29.45. While I was out it triggered. $hit. I hope you are right on the box. I plan to hold. I cannot understand how a continuance of a court decision can cause such a $5.00 drop. Maybe we'll bounce $4.00 tomorrow.

OT - The "Real Time Market Quote" doesn't work. Notice the 2 week free trial on that page. I'm afeared that the "free" is a thing of the past. Unless it is just my computer (or me) frigging up.
RLL
OT - Is Yahoo no longer providing FREE real time quotes? I am now only getting stale quotes on Yahoo, but I see an advertisement for real time quotes at $9.95/month. It seems that all of the free stuff is going away.
Does anyone know where to get free quotes?
See, just thinking about selling my QCOM and we went over $50. I expect we will close over $50, as well.
Molly, I would like to sell some QCOM and buy back on a dip, but I'm afraid to let my shares go. That is certainly when $50 would get broken.
RLL
Re COCO -- I suspect you mean $60, not $50, as we are at $54.50 now. Probably you thought I was asking about COO, which reports tonight.
Thanks
Zeev, I believe that you are holding a couple of servings of COCO. I know you are optimistic in the long term ($70?). Any thoughts on short term direction?
Thanks, RLL
Huge Quarter Coming at Qualcomm

Qualcomm (QCOM:Nasdaq) is going to wipe out existing first-quarter earnings and revenue estimates thanks to strong sales of cell-phone chips. The news lifted its shares $2.84, or 6.4%, to $47.31 on the Instinet premarket session.
Qualcomm said Thursday it will earn 47 cents or 48 cents a share in the quarter ending in December on sales that are 11% or 12% higher than last year. The estimate excludes the company's venture capital arm, which is expected to post a loss. Analysts had been forecasting earnings of 38 cents a share on that basis.
The new estimate reflects shipment of 32 million to 33 million mobile station modem phone chips during the quarter. The company had previously forecast earnings of 37 cents to 40 cents a share on a 1% to 6% decrease in year-over-year revenue, and shipment of 27 million to 28 million of the phone chips.
Qualcomm's other line of business is the licensing of its code-division multiple access algorithms for cellular network products. The company said royalty reports from licensees indicate sales of approximately 31 million new CDMA subscriber units in the fourth quarter, compared to its previous estimate of 26 million units. The company also said the average selling price of new CDMA units increased slightly compared to the third fiscal quarter and that it now expect total new CDMA subscriber units shipped in calendar 2003 to be 110 million to 112 million units.
"We are seeing stronger growth than anticipated in all CDMA markets as operators continue to deploy and expand 3G networks," the company said, adding that sales of phones with color screens, digital cameras and GPS technology helped lift the average selling price.
Based on orders to date and current customer projections, Qualcomm expects to ship 26 million to 30 million phone chips in the March quarter, compared with roughly 28 million in the year-ago period.

Zeev, do you have a new trading box on QCOM? Still trading above 52 week high.
QCOM "...holding with a solid hard stop..." Are you with Zeev, mental stop at $42?
QCOM is now above its 52 week high.
Zeev, Any thoughts on where to place stops on QCOM?
Zeev, are you sleeping with QCOM?
RLL
Zeev, ZRAN now at $20.99. Are you dumping or doubling?
RLL
Zeev, any thoughts on when it will be safe to get back on the bu$$?
