Santa Barbara Broker, FWIW you do raise some interesting points. I will no longer be posting (except to say final goodbyes to some posters I've enjoyed here) in the future and will be out of ONEV, one way or the other, soon. I have followed ONEV since 2001 and a shareholder since early 2002. Their performance is well documented so I need not offer an opinion. I will also no longer be contacting the company but rely on what I find out independently and review of the SEC filings. With that said, I did speak with Dean Weber two weeks ago on Wednesday, March 04, and this is what I was told (categorically):
TELMEX ... The person he thought was going to give a presentation in January apparently didn't. Dean said he was going down to meet directly with the decision maker for TELMEX "residential" in around 2 weeks (which would be now), i.e., a fish or cut bait meeting. Dean came across as being frustrated. When I asked him why word of mouth or TELNOR's web site didn't gain traction / growth with IRIS subscribers, he didn't have an answer. It is possible there has been attrition(?). Nevertheless, I believe we will know if TELMEX is proceeding very soon.
Tracfone ... had completed testing when we spoke but he had not received their decision. I would think we would know something there (as well) soon.
Financing ... when asked if ONEV had funding from investors to carry us to break even (as stated in the filings) he said yes. Because of a voice inflection in his answer, that made me uncomfortable, I followed up with an email asking specifically: does ONEV have the committed resources to make it through 2009? He did not answer my email ... I will carefully review the upcoming 10K for stipulated language.
I want to be candid and end by saying I was upset with Dean, not only because we had a phone appointment and ONEV's telephone was no longer in service, but, that he didn't bother to contact and tell me. He did call after I emailed him with the problem. The phone situation and fact that ONEV.COM currently no longer opens on my home and office computer has made me angry about how this portrays ONEV. Very unprofessional and shoddy in my opinion. I recently ended my contact with Dean with constructive criticism and see no need for further contact. I wish nothing more than for ONEV to succeed, if for no better reason than for some here to make money, and others less fortunate, to cut their losses. Good luck to everyone going forward ... may God bless ...
Hellfighter03, there are many long term investors who share your sentiments. I still read message boards periodically but don't post much anymore because of all the silliness and hyperbole. I infrequently contact Dean, however, did recently as ONEV is way overdue!
On January 6, we spoke. At that time Dean mentioned he had just communicated with Mantec about getting the launch date from MTNL. He said everything went well through testing and ONEV received a lot of positive feedback. He was confident it would happen (this quarter).
There has been delay getting approval from TELMEX but Dean stated that should be answered this month. He expected approval. As I understood it: "approval" means working out final contract details with their purchasing department. What that means as far as projected launch date I am uncertain? If ONEV doesn't make a detailed announcement by early February I'll recontact them. I believe we all realize how important a key TELMEX is to ONEV's future.
I know it's not much but hope it's helpful. The current lenders apparently have ONEV in a bootstrap until these things come through. I know it's been a frustratingly long time for many here ... as always, good luck going forward ...
Good article ... I copied the link and sent it to Dean. In business you always have to be mindful of anything that can upset the applecart. TELMEX has been ongoing for some time and I hope we get dry ink on a contract soon. The industry has grown increasingly fierce and alternative approaches are growing boundless. I hope Dean is aggressively working on whatever he has in the pipelines aside from TELMEX and MTNL ... things are really heating up. Good luck to all going forward ...
Venomen, even though we haven't always agreed over the years I do appreciate that you took the time to set up a call with Dean. I think direct dialog is always the best form of communication. I hope Dean gives sufficient time to those asking questions and answers delays from the last 2 CC's.
I'll definitely try to move things around to make the call. Thanks again.
Cee-It, it does raise uncertainties not knowing how ONEV has protected itself. It would also seem to be a necessary component of any long term licensing. I have emailed Dean to see what assurances he can convey to shareholders. I'm sure there are answers ... I can't imagine any customers putting themselves at risk of termination.
Actually, in part, you bring up a very good point. I've had 3 questions directly in to Dean (one of which covers Philips licensing) that could/should be answered. Since the July CC these questions have not been answered or addressed in any form. I will not discuss them at this time. Rob, at Cervelle, has been copied, contacted by phone and email and has also been trying to obtain answers for me. Rob (apologetically) has been in touch with me over the last few weeks to state he is still trying and not avoiding me. I at least appreciate that.
I've personally had a problem with lack of transparency in certain areas (especially with recent share movement, filings and sequential events). The best way to quell concern is to answer questions.
Good luck to all going forward ...
(from a long-term shareholder with unanswered reasonable questions)
Remember ATT/SBC. Maybe this area with Motorola would make sense.
http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?rssFeed=news&id=30541
Kauaikid (I remember you by an earlier name that I now can't remember LOL)... many share your sentiments. I plan on being on the CC but also emailed several questions to Dean and Rob requesting answers if they're not covered on the CC. I will be happy to share any response I receive ... regards to all and good luck going forwards ...
SBB your copy of just a portion of ONEV's financial structure is of refreshed interest to me, albeit disconcerting. If I were a new investor I'd have a plethora of questions how to conjunctively deal with much of the complicated and proprietary issues at hand? Right now there are too many options to arbitrarily shift even greater ownership to the current funders. In other words, no new money invested has any controllable "fixed" ownership without a total revamping of what already is in place. This involves not only the revolving credit note but convertible debentures, options and warrants in one sense ... notwithstanding licensing, corporate and other settlement obligations/liabilities in another. Amending, agreeing, untangling and creating a new web (so to speak) is probably what has delayed the "new" financing/investor source. A task(?) ... intriguing to say the least.
On another note I do have email questions in to Dean and Rob at Cervelle. Rob said he would talk with Dean and we plan on speaking next week. I have not called Dean directly at this point giving every benefit of doubt that he is busy ... doing what TBD soon. There is a lot we all want to know ... good luck going forward ...
Hi folks! I've read this past week where many are inquiring of OfficeMax areas where MCC3.1 might be on the shelves. The PR read that it was a national launch. I live in north Florida and happened to have a need to go to OfficeMax this afternoon. It was on the shelve where I live. I hope this is helpful.
For those that are curious about those that don't post often ... I've owned the stock close to 7 years, have a PPS average in the low double digit pennies and probably invested more dollars than anyone here (OUCH!). I (from personal exposure) really need to see something definitively happen at this point so have not invested another penny in years. I continue holding and am still hopeful ONEV succeeds. Regardless of disappointing circumstances over the years ONEV could be on the brink (of what? will be determined shortly LOL) ... good luck to all going forward and may God bless ...
In reading the board lately there is an increasing sense of speculation, both negative and positive. There has been question what (specifically) a 50,000,000 share payment made in April was about ... and delays in TELMEX and MTNL. I must say the 50,000,000 share payment does appear to be a material contract and I can't find any filing information online through Edgar's.
Bottom line: I would first write (or call) the company before jumping too far in conclusion(s). I have done so and will share my findings if I hear anything. In a public company there needs to be transparency by which an investor can make decisions ... this is especially true as it relates to reasonable shareholder's inquiry. As always ... good luck to all going forward ...
Hello board! I still read (fairly frequently) and enjoy not being involved LOL. I always drop to the bottom line with what I see happening and where (and to whom) benefits flow. Without elaborating, I have not been too pleased with what I've read in the last couple of filings.
Things could grow more interesting when quantifiable specifics of external revenue and internal corporate structuring are better known. Regardless, I'm still invested and awaiting further information before making any determination(s). I wish everyone the best ... good luck going forward ...
Veno, Morley and many others, thank you as well. The good thing about retirement is I do actively check on things I have passive investment in. The bad thing is when my wife gives me that very serious "you got way too much time on your hands" look LOL!
I am very optimistic about the added growth opportunities with MTNL. I am cautiously optimistic about the licensing structure with TELMEX (which could change rapidly depending how quickly they move IRIS into new markets). In the process TELNOR/TELMEX will likely retrofit to whatever the volume pricing / license structure becomes (fairly immediate without lending too much speculation). Either way, I'm encouraged and agree with everyone here that the MID possibilities could be a real dark horse as the year develops.
Well I've got to run and spoil grandkids. I just love when my children say "don't do it Gampa"! Are you kidding ... it's pay back time LOL.
I see the summer on the horizon looking brighter ... have a great evening!
To clarify a recent update I shared with this board I'm enclosing the email response received from Dean on March 4 (which may clear up various speculation). He only responded (appropriately) to my two areas of specific inquiry, i.e., TELMEX / MTNL / status update and/or material change. I do abide by any PROHIBITED language in an email but Dean waived that in the first sentence. Although we haven't always seen eye to eye in the past, Dean knows I am a shareholder who wishes nothing but great success for our company. I do get frustrated by many message board posters who come up with wild ideas and conjecture that often has nothing to do with fact. Recently I've read RCCC being brought up again yet, many don't understand that the reason RCCC didn't go forward had little to do with ONEV. Again I urge people to do their own DD. Message boards are a great forum for sharing opinions, sentiments and sometimes tidbits of information but never reliable for making, or sticking with, investment decisions ... may God bless ... good luck going forward ...
Hi Tom,
Quick update, nothing in here is material so it can be shared. The status of TELMEX is that on Jan. 1, 2008 TELMEX and TELNOR merged their product lines and some products from TELNOR were kept and some were cut. IRIS definitely made it as a product they will keep. In fact, Hector Slim in Oct. 2007 saw the product in action at TELNOR and instructed TELNOR and TELMEX to launch it. Since Jan 1. till now TELMEX has been going through changes and has absorbed TELNOR. Soon the TELNOR name will go away and it will only be TELMEX throughout all of Mexico. So, officially IRIS is now a TELMEX product. We are now working with TELMEX on a licensing structure for national rollout to both residential and Small / Medium Business (SMB).
With MTNL we will ship equipment for installation in the next two weeks. Service should be up and running late March / early April.
Hope this helps...
Regards,
Dean

Got busy this week and haven't had a chance to update the board. I did hear from Dean this past Monday. ONEV is still working with TELMEX on a licensing structure for a national rollout and it does appear IRIS has made the cut. Equipment is being shipped to MTNL in a couple of weeks and they should be up and running by late March to early April.
I copied this press release from MTNL's web site. Although there is no mention of ONEV directly, it does show MTNL is progressing with new technologies and has grown a bit. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and as always good luck going forward ...
MTNL gets a Pat on the back; Hands over Interim Dividend
Dated: 27th Feb-08
PRESS RELEASE
New Delhi, February 27th, 2008: MTNL today presented a cheque for Rs.106.31 crores, towards 30% interim dividend for the Financial Year 2007-08 to the Hon’ble Minister of Communications & IT, Thiru. A. Raja. In its Board Meeting held on 30.01.2008, MTNL Board approved payment of interim dividend @ 30% on the paid up equity capital of Rs.630 Crores for the financial year 2007-08.
It is worth mentioning here that MTNL is making all out efforts to provide state of the art services to its customers at the most affordable prices. The period has also seen a significant growth in the subscriber base of services like mobile, broadband, IPTV, etc. in both Delhi & Mumbai. As on 31st January, 2008, MTNL’s customer base of voice services exceeds 6.87 million.
Speaking on the occasion, the Honorable Minister of Communication and IT, Thiru A. Raja said, “ I congratulate MTNL for introducing latest technologies in their network, and it’s very evident that they are moving in the right direction. MTNL has been playing a key role in stimulating the market dynamics by reducing tariffs and providing greater consumer benefits”.
MTNL has paid dividend @ 40% on its equity capital of Rs.630 Crores during last year. During the last seven years(excluding 2007-08), an aggregate amount of Rs.1921.50 Crores has been paid as dividend to all the shareholders out of which Rs.1080.78 Crores has been paid to the Govt. of India on their shareholding of 56.25% in the company.
About MTNL: MTNL was set up on 1st April, 1986 by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India’s key metros – Delhi, the political capital and Mumbai, the business capital of India. In the past 21+ years, the company has taken rapid strides to emerge as India’s leading and one of Asia’s largest telecom operating companies. Besides having a strong financial base, MTNL has achieved a customer base of 6,872,942 as on 31st January, 2008.
The company has also been in the forefront of technology induction by converting 100% of its telephone exchange network into the state-of-the-art digital mode. The Govt. of India currently holds 56.25% stake in the company.
In the year 2007-08, the company is focussing on widening the cellular, CDMA based WLL, IPTV & VOIP customer base, achieving at least 5,00,000 broadband customers, and further expanding of telecom services in Mauritius through its subsidiary.
I've been reading today and believe all shareholders should responsibly be active in doing their own DD. Message boards are a quagmire for misinformation. I also believe it benefits ONEV to keep shareholders informed to guard against disseminated claims (pro and con). It works to safeguard their/our self interests. Concerns are natural to grow in areas of progress when delays occur ... I will personally contact One Voice if we aren't updated soon.
In related matters, the competition has continually made significant progress. Example: Microsoft is one of many larger companies making it easy and inexpensive to accomplish much of what One Voice offers (even more in some instances). Again I urge you to do your own DD. Below is an interesting read and view:
I recommend the Voice Command Video (far right) for a good illustration. The Voice Command Demo is also worthwhile.

ONEV needs to close deals and get them up and running ... good luck and best wishes to all going forward.
Skydole, in my post to you, take "you" literally ... I was being supportive. There has been unreasonable conjecture, reasoning and understanding (from my business view) by several posters on this board. Several people were attacking you in areas where I felt you had a right to express your sentiments ... just struck a nerve (I guess that's why I read and post on stock message boards less LOL).
Skydole, I don't like public attacks when you just ask for accountability of what has been reported. The inaccurate claims of business nomenclature is also disturbing. I believe we all want to see substance behind substantive claims ... it is only reasonable.
I continue to hold but have become increasingly bothered by boisterous comments of certain shareholders(?) without merit ... good luck to all of going forward ...
Ugo22, Venomen2002 and Board,
I continue to read the board weekly (absent direct news) and have the following comments:
Ugo22, I feel the same way about MID's ... they truly are the next revolution in technology. I would definitely buy a MID with ONEV's tech and toss the cell. Too bad we have to wait until the second half of 2008, but, it will change the way we live ... no more carrying a ton of equipment on trips. I'm hopeful ONEV will get one large contract (minimally) in this area.
Veno, I notice you had earlier posts suggesting MTNL may not roll out with ONEV until March, or later, and you didn't know if MTNL would be offering free periods (similar to TELNOR). The last communication I had with Dean regarding MTNL was on December 17. At that time he stated ONEV was still planning to launch MTNL in the January / February time frame and it was an "opt in" service and therefore had no free periods. You contact ONEV more frequently than I do so it's possible you have more up to date answers ... have you heard differently?
This year could not be more ripe for the type(s) of technological offering(s) ONEV has / is putting together ... good luck to all going forward ...
I tend to agree, absent considerably more news, 2nd Q numbers will be an important view. We should not only have the full strength of TELNOR, but, added growing revenue from MTNL and (hopefully) TELMEX in the 2nd Q.
Our base pps could grow as launches take place in the 1st Q, however, it should modestly be held in check by potential dilutive exercise of low priced options / warrants.
The only variables that could change this (IMHO) are confirmed contracts for 2008 (by large companies) with investors having a reasonable understanding of the dynamics. Absent the foregoing I'd agree that 8/15 (2Q.'s numbers) should "do the trick" or, at least, be very telling.
I received today's news alert on ONEV and thought I'd drop by to wish everyone a happy new year. It would be nice if ONEV was chosen by a prominent company (like Intel) to be the voice interface for their MID product lines. We have seen how ONEV has demoed well with many top names / brands, e.g., MSFT in 2004 and several before and after ... but we've yet to get the significant contracts. Let's just hope ONEV's diligence pays off soon in this area of their technology.
In the MV area, we should hear from TELMEX and MTNL this quarter. This should start the turn around in pps. MTNL will take some time to mature as it's an "opt in" (only for MV email by phone service initially),however, TELMEX would definitely be more consequential near term. Naturally I'm hoping to hear of new opportunities as much of the aforementioned is a progression of old news.
Hopefully Say2Play and One Voice Tunes will have some contracts attached when they roll out and not just be product offerings. Needless to say Motorola and Intel could be a great part of the answers we need to gain prominence in 2008 ... regardless, happy new year and good luck to all going forward ...
I think the hopes and confidence in ONEV remains in performance. We all hoped revenue would have been better by virtue of what was promoted prior to the last 10Q. We now may possibly need to wait for the 10K to see material difference ... cheerleaders distorted what to expect via this and other boards.
ONEV has been confident for many years on what they were hopeful they could achieve. Does anyone here feel differently? We're just waiting for it to happen.
May God bless and good luck (to ONEV and us) going forward ...
10QSB is out. eom
Late filing notice out - NT-10Q
Stock_sherpa, not at all. If you missed my point please read the message again.
The GS contract (i.e, none beforehand) was the first ever carrier signed in the U.S., the Montan Telecom contract supposedly had distribution hopes for several countries in the German & Austrian language, TATA was a strategic technology alliance partnership to sell ONEV products in India and MSFT was rumor (but so highly rumored that many of the guru's still posting on this board today said MSFT liked the tech so much they just may buy us based on calls to personnel at ONEV (similar to TELMEX, albeit different today).
The key to what I was saying was the average amount of shares that was traded based on all the above news within a period of less than a month. Answer: hundreds of millions with less than 163 million shares O/S and none of the warrant issues that suppress much of the lofty pps expectations expressed without revenue guidance on this board. Some of the people like Igotthemojo, Ihubposter and several PM posts messages (that do not publicly post here) appreciated and understood what I was saying. That is not to criticize you or any others that misunderstood. I appreciate everyone's contribution and personally have learned a lot by those more tech savvy.
My 40 years experience is not meant to be a vain expression, yet one that qualifies my opinion as "informed" and practical based on what I've seen and experienced over the years. I have invested a lot in this company and have met Dean. I have also seen ONEV's earlier products demonstrated and hear they have improved. I wish nothing more than success for this company but dislike the endless, unmerited speculation I have read from promoters of this stock over the years that have been without merit. It serves no great purpose and even hurt credibility beyond what ONEV publicly released. To each their own. GLTY and others going forward ... it sounds like ONEV has made some inroads, I for one hope and look forward to this fruit ...
Ihubposter, there are many here who understand exactly what you are saying. I appreciate many of your posts and insights regarding ONEV. With the 10Q due next week it will be interesting to see what is said about TELMEX (not TELNOR) since it was anticipated to launch in the 3rd quarter. I would also think (and hope) something might be said about MTNL (even though that was not announced in the 3rd quarter).
I believe we will learn more regarding the new items on ONEV's updated website (and possibly much more) ... good luck going forward ...
I will offer my 2 cents as an opinion/alternative to lofty projections thrown about regarding ONEV high pps possibilities, e.g. $.50, before 2008. I feel compelled to post (i.e., one who does not post often) because I do care about some of the things stated here and am a realistic investor ... ONEV will never repeat what happened in 2004 (or $.50) without very significant revenue announcements. I don't care if TELMEX is confirmed, TELCEL signs a deployment contract, or, if the largest tier 1 OEM in the world bundles MCC on one of its models. It really doesn't matter what happens if revenue guidance isn't significant ... Sorry, I do not see anywhere close to $.50 this year. That (IMO) is simply the case based on my knowledge of business and securities investment (close to 40 years experience).
For those that remember what happened with ONEV in 2004 visualize the following: one week before the run up (April 28,2004) ONEV had an O/S of 162,924,951. On May 4 after rumor of a MSFT deal (Bill Gates holding the infamous remote) ONEV exploded. The first 5 trading days averaged well over 30 million shares per day and huge gains (one day over 100%). The next 5 trading days averaged 70-75 million shares per day and so on. In the first 17 trading days alone ONEV traded over 735,000,000 shares. In a one month period (April 26 - May 26, 2004) ONEV announced its first U.S. carrier (Golden State), exclusive VR demonstration with MSFT at WinHec2004, a European deal with Montan Telecom AG to sell products in several countries and a largely strategic technology alliance partnership with TaTa for reselling of One Voice products in India. Starting on May 4, after 30-45 trading days, ONEV traded 900,000,000 - 1,000,000,000 shares on what seemed to be great news ... many times their O/S at the time. We now have well over a billion shares that will be outstanding with any run-up (e.g., repriced warrants included). We'd need to have hundreds of millions of shares traded (maybe billion[s] taking in to account warrants, options, day traders and in / out general investors) so be cautious in listening to dreamer(s) lofty predictions.
The questions today: Will TELNOR lead to TELMEX continuing Iris and will TELCEL actually sign on? What is the financial guidance, other than message board hearsay? When will MTNL actually roll out / what does that mean? Let's hope we see strong revenue in 2008. I'm resolved that I won't be selling this year (barring a miracle) ... I just hope next year we see good fruit (hopefully sooner rather than later). I say this in honesty to less sophisticated investors that sometimes get caught up in the hype of promoters or bashers of this stock. I am a shareholder, who is long, continuing to hope for the best. Yes, continued frustration with this investment, but, not ready to write it off ... May God bless and good luck to all going forward ...
Hellfighter, Venomen2002 and a host of others that read this message board, let us hope this is the springboard that moves us forward. Although it is not the marketing ad, it is the formal announcement of things to come. I know many have been waiting for years ... good luck to all going forward ...
Nice full page ad regarding TELNOR'S Iris in the social section of El Mexicano today.
http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/edicionimpresa.aspx
After reading several news clippings posted here over the last few days I get the impression that TELMEX may not launch as quickly as Dean expects (i.e., behind TELNOR). However, I suppose that could change if the reception, operations and retention were better than TELNOR anticipates. It seems as though their approach is very cautious and deliberate. I suspect TELMEX would like to evaluate how it may stress the system (systematically and operationally) and evaluate usage, complaints, etc. while under a heavy marketing campaign. I seemed to remember one of the articles stated that these newly offered services were part of a 2007-2008 campaign ... and if all went well with the TELNOR pilot they would expand it throughout the country. Lets just hope for great results.
I do fully expect to hear news on MTNL and the OEM imminently based on recent filings. It will also be interesting to see if we hear anything further regarding the remotes and/or old and new business in short conjunction with news coming out of Mexico ... until later, still hoping for the best and good luck to all going forward ...
Well, I see what ONEV did in the 8K ... creative, however, will it turn out to be redemptive? I hope all was done in great anticipation, i.e., anticipatory knowledge ... assuming so ... good luck to all going forward ...
I'm getting ready to take off for the weekend but wanted to give this board a little feedback and my opinion where we need to focus for the time being. I did email Dean after the 9/5/2007 update and he was gracious enough to respond that same day. The part of the email I will share is important (to me) as it is the most immediate remedy to our dilutive circumstance and ONEV's profitability. The answer IMO is ambiguous but yet encouraging. As we have read in the filings ONEV has been working with TELMEX on potential added services. I am heartened to hear that presumable decision makers, i.e., TELMEX execs, have embraced IRIS (that we should shortly see rolled out with TELNOR).
IMO a TELMEX with IRIS offering may come sooner rather than later. My basis for this is a correlation of previous correspondence and released information. If I were asked to go out on limb my guess would range from imminent to no later than 2 months. I believe the potential interest in IRIS could well be above a mid single digit percent take rate. Properly marketed the IRIS package has the sizzle ... I'm just waiting for the sparks. Regardless, I just wanted to share some information and personal sentiments (based on what I see near term, I'm more hopeful than I've been in a long time) ... Good luck to all going forward ...
BELOW IS AN EXCERPT FROM MY 9/5/2007 EMAIL AND DEAN'S RESPONSE:
I believe most shareholders appreciated today's update, I'm just surprised Telnor hadn't tweaked the billing since the June launch to select subscribers. In the 10Q you held the anticipated date for Telmex's roll out to this month, i.e., 3rd quarter. Do you now anticipate Telmex to be delayed ... if so, to what degree? <<< We're discussing this now with TELMEX and will keep you informed when possible. TELMEX was originally going to launch email-by-phone but is now interested in the entire IRIS package given initial feedback and usage by TELMEX execs who like the complete IRIS service.
Something odd occurred when I contacted ONEV's stock transfer agent to get a current O/S. The amount they gave me was 694,227,242 as of 12:30 PM ET. That is 29,890,000 less than the figure they gave me 1 week ago (August 23 the number was 724,117,242). I'm careful what I write down and remember asking the person to repeat the number on the 23rd. I don't have time to request a Certificate Activity List (which can be accomplished by faxing in a request) ... I'm running late with one foot out the door. If anyone is curious the stock transfer agent's number is (303) 282-4800 ... I didn't get the fax #.
Bottom line - O/S is 694,227,242. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
Stock_sherpa, thanks for the information, that is interesting. eom
Venomen, for the messaging features I think a choice was made for an alternative approach. Many posters here understood what I was saying. It seems you want to draw more into what was said. I'm sorry if you don't understand.
justme-nm, you are correct. Another good reference is located on page 3 (top right picture) on this pdf link:
http://www.fig.net/pub/mexico/powerpoints/ts_05_reyesibarra_eng_ppt.pdf
Let people read my posts for what they are, not what you think they are.
Venomen, short answer "yes". Business decisions aren't always based on apples vs. oranges, but, what provides the best solution based on a number of factors. I believe from a message communication standpoint SpinVox created an interesting alternative to what ONEV offered. I view competition by "who wins the business" ... in my referenced post these are companies where ONEV presented their product(s) / solutions.
As a shareholder I follow what other companies do, weigh competitive landscape and try to understand product alternatives in various areas. I very much understand what ONEV offers.
Some shareholders find themselves better informed by looking at what is going on industry wide and analyzing from a broader overview ... never mistake that with "not understanding the tech" or the fact that I'm always pulling for ONEV. FYI, for those interested, SpinVox is also rolling out services with Alltel, 4Q, 2007.
A name from ONEV's past I read about today ... Rogers Wireless. I started tracking SpinVox (an ONEV competitor) after they landed Cincinnati Bell. Hopefully ONEV can show it can still compete for at least one or two larger carriers in native English ... the list continues to narrow.
Although ONEV has achieved potentially greater opportunities outside the North American marketplace, it still irks me to see so many of those we've pursued go elsewhere. Competition is growing at a ridiculously rapid rate ... continuing to hope for the best. Good luck to all going forward!
SpinVox and Rogers Wireless Announce Launch of Voicemail-to-Text Solution
ATLANTA & TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SpinVox, the world leader in Voice-to-Screen™ messaging, announced today that Rogers Wireless, Canada’s largest wireless data and voice communications services provider, will offer SpinVox voicemail-to-text service across its network. Starting this Fall, Rogers subscribers will be able to choose to have all their voicemails converted to text by SpinVox and sent directly to their cell phones as an SMS message.
SpinVox eliminates the need to check voicemail in the traditional way and the company anticipates mass-market adoption of its service. SpinVox sends the SMS along with the number, so the caller can be immediately identified, enabling customers to instantly respond either by text or phone with just one-touch.
SpinVox is the only voice-to-text service with multilingual capability, so Rogers’ subscribers can have both their English and French voicemails converted.
"As Canada's leading provider of data communications services, Rogers Wireless is always looking to help customers save time with the latest innovations in mobile communications," said John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. "SpinVox provides a great tool for road warriors when they cannot listen to their voicemail as the system uses very sophisticated voice to text solutions and delivers with great accuracy. With the SpinVox solution, users can receive and read messages while held up in a meeting or on the run and are able to easily document detailed directions and coordinates."
“This milestone for SpinVox clearly shows our ability to deliver solutions for North America’s leading communications companies and meet the needs of their customers in the rapidly growing voice messaging market,” said Christina Domecq, SpinVox CEO and co-founder. “Rogers is an innovative pioneer that recognizes the value of Voice-to-Screen messaging for their customers across Canada. SpinVox voice messaging simplifies the way people communicate and that’s always the goal at the end of the day.”
SpinVox Voicemail-to-Text launched in 2004 and is one of eight world-first products creating a new category of communications, Voice-to-Screen. The deal with Rogers Wireless marks its fourth carrier announcement in North America and SpinVox forecasts a total of 12 announced deals by the end of 2007, leading to an estimated global subscriber base of six million in the first quarter of 2008. Rogers has the largest wireless network in Canada, reaching 94% of the population.
