Lol, yep its the worst ever, made our 2016 flood that took 22 lives look mild in comparison.....We got 11 inches in 11 hours (last hour being the worst) Those folks got hit with some 20" and even 30"....Whats the toll now, well over 200..So there is not much to compare it too....
Bureaucracies are bloated and slow, people can't cut through the red tape,,,,,,Decisions can't be made by committee, there has to be flexibility and leadership........If those People can do it, shouldn't we expect our gov to be able, or at least be able to join in quickly.....And if we can't take criticism ment to be helpful and kick folks in the butt even when they are showing what can be done we are moving backwards not forward.....
You response is to trump and the rw.p, lol...Which has nothing to do with the reporting by CNN and Newsweek.....Which also goes to show you too just don't get it and are blinded to certain realities by partisan politics....
And speaking of blind, your still basically tied with Trump,,,,,, Harder and harder to take you dems seriously....Back to,,, you and dems just don't get it....
Dismiss as you will, they indeed continually tried to get the feds involved
Wouldn't make a rats ass bit of difference if it was a dem or repub admin, they would react the same as you have
And that's the real problem
Actually its funny how people that came up with a fast paced solution that should be heralded by all, is now politically killed off and dimissed considered a political attack......I called it on the first post and the board did not disappoint....
Funny how money was not mentioned, yet it was compared to current rw misinformation........Funny how you dems were not willing to consider it at face value, rather just take offense to the criticism......Those folks should be admired and emulated......
A hand full of people did what the gov can't, you'd even have to point to the state officials and not just the feds......When there is a time of need there is no room for politics, just good ideas.....
Believe as you may, I consider yourself and the board unreasonable and as toxic as the rw....
Lmao
https://sr06.senate.ca.gov/content/bipartisan-audit-request-approved-get-answers-homelessness-spending#:~:text=California%20has%20spent%20more%20than%20%2420%20billion%20over,homeless%20population%20by%20a%2015%20percent%20by%202025.
Just for giggles $20,000,000,000.00 / 172,000 people = $116,000.00ea......a might ask around on the streets and see what it bought them.....
I know well how how it is to get to remote places, hence the point of the whole exercise, A savvy group managed to get 90 helicopters, supplies, aircraft up and going to those remote places starting on day 1 and 2 after the storm.....All the gov an military had to to was follow, support and take over......
The rest of your post is just ignorant and stupid, you have no earthy idea what your talking about......
But another social experiment complete, thanks..........the mainstream media ignored them, and groups like this make it political, not practical......
To hell with what is happening on the front line, whether the help is making to the most needed areas.....
Like Newsome squandered 20billion on homelessness with out it making it to the homeless.......Who knows where those 1000 soldiers ended up.....Somewhere a pic could be taken?
Shame those volunteers actually are carrying out a big well organized operation making it to those who need it the most...but they didn't follow a political narrative, nay hey had the nerve to be critical and publicly ask for help....so lets discount the whole thing instead of praising them and our federal organization jumping in and supporting them...
Tell it to CNN and since you didn't read it, let me highlight what they had done as of yesterday....... So much for redemption, lol.....And further proof partisans have us stuck in the mud and have for decades now.....
Never missing a chance to muddy the truth........What an ass for calling this Anecdotal BS........
God your stupid......Try redeeming yourself by reading what started the thread, and to you and Janice both,
Thanks for playing

During a CNN interview on Sunday afternoon, volunteer pilots and relief organizers criticized the federal government's response to Hurricane Helene, saying there's "still no FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency], still no military" in North Carolina, which was ravaged by the storm late last month.
Hurricane Helene made landfall on Florida's Big Bend region on September 26 as a Category 4 hurricane and then tore through the Southeast region of the United States. It hit parts of Western North Carolina particularly hard, washing away roads, destroying homes, and leaving millions without power.
According to the Associated Press, 227 people have died across six states as a result of the storm, with the number expected to rise as relief efforts continue, making it the deadliest hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
On Sunday, directors of two major volunteer relief groups, Operation Airdrop and Operation Helo, somberly described the realities on the ground to CNN host Omar Jimenez.
Operation Airdrop chairman Doug Jackson struggled to explain the destruction he saw in the region, "Their homes are gone. What they have around them is all they have left in this world. It's absolutely devastating for them. It's hard to describe, never seen anything like it."
The volunteer group uses planes and pilots to deliver life-saving supplies to people in need in more remote and inaccessible locations. Jackson said the operation "had flown 673 flights, delivered over 400,000 pounds by air, and 700,000 pounds by truck, for a total of almost 1.2 million pounds of supplies out of one airport."
Limited by fixed-wing planes at the Concord-Padgett airport outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackson said he spoke with his friend Matt McSwain, who quickly co-founded Operation Helo to deploy helicopters to hard-to-reach areas. Operation Helo is based out of Hickory Regional Airport in Western North Carolina.
McSwain said Operation Helo has "forged over 400 LZs [helicopter landing zones] over the mountains into the remote locations," adding that the operation is "flying over 400 missions per day, we have over 90 helicopters registered."
During the interview, McSwain called out the federal government, explaining that when the operation began, "there was no military presence, there was no military help, there was no FEMA, there was no nothing."
He continued that today, nearly a week-and-a-half after the hurricane hit, there's "still no FEMA, still no military, still no nothing, we're begging—this is day eight, nine now."
"We're tired," he added. "But if we go home, mama and papa won't get their medicine, and they die. So that's why were still forging on."
Shame really is, partisans on both sides play politics with disasters.....
My post had nothing to do with politics except to point out there are people who are getting the job done and they need the help of officials who control resources......
So to both parties and to repeat that well know phrase you used
" Your doing a heck of a job Brownie"
Let's say the same for all you partisans out there too,,,,,Heck of a job :) Well done!
Dumbasses
Nah, being a dick is politicizing everything.......Those volunteers are the real deal, they should not only be given props but listened to,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Musk's accomplishments are undeniable, period.....Another liberal, not so unlike Maher who is disenchanted with the modern dems......For good reason I might add
Now, tell me who has advanced humanity as much as him over the last 20 yrs......
Go worry about pronouns, a high priority for dems..
Told ya you make it political,,,dems f off any thing that's good and what they don't f up, repubs surely will, been that way for for the last 50 yrs..............and you may Google simp his response was socialism somehow,,,,,? ask him
And now that you caught on just a little, back to, if those guys could do it, our gov and military could,,,,,well should be able to................But noooooooo,,,,,,,,,Fn ing political A holes
All Tesla patents are open source....FWIW
Free for All: Tesla Motors Makes Electric Car Patents Open Source
In a bold move, Tesla Motors is making all the patents for the company's electric car technology free and available for anyone to use. In a blog entry posted today (June 12), Tesla founder and chief operating officer Elon Musk said the decision to share the company's patents was made "in the spirit of the open source movement, for the advancement of electric vehicle technology."
"Tesla Motors was created to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport," Musk wrote in the blog post. "If we clear a path to the creation of compelling electric vehicles, but then lay intellectual property landmines behind us to inhibit others, we are acting in a manner contrary to that goal. Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology."
Musk, who also founded the commercial spaceflight company SpaceX, added that in the current world of rapidly evolving tech, patents often stifle the flow of progress. "Technology leadership is not defined by patents, which history has repeatedly shown to be small protection indeed against a determined competitor, but rather by the ability of a company to attract and motivate the world's most talented engineers," the trailblazing entrepreneur wrote.
By making Tesla's patents open source, Musk said he hopes to bolster the electric car industry, which is still heavily outmuscled by traditional car companies, and make strides in stemming harmful emissions that are contributing to global warming.

Socialism, Tom Tillis and Lebanese citizens was the response to good people doing a great thing......
Thats politics of the day.........Getting harder and harder to be proud of yourselves I'm sure, and its harder and harder to be proud of Anyone involved in partisan politics....
Bottom line.... Good people are losing out daily...... Now be proud of yourself for comparing them to Tom Tillis

Nice of ya to calm down ;),,,,,,Tribalism is its own form of triggering.......Pretty soon the tribe members will say and do just about anything in the name of their tribe....
Its why the tribal ways never have good out comes.......
The truth can make people mad for several reasons:
1. Cognitive Dissonance: When the truth conflicts with someone’s beliefs or values, it creates a psychological discomfort known as cognitive dissonance. This discomfort can lead to anger as a defense mechanism to protect their existing beliefs
2.Perceived Threat: The truth can sometimes feel like a personal attack, especially if it challenges someone’s self-image or identity. This perceived threat can trigger anger as a way to defend oneself
3.Unpleasant Realities: The truth can reveal unpleasant or painful realities that people would rather avoid. Facing these truths can be distressing and provoke anger as a way to cope with the discomfort
4. Loss of Control: Accepting the truth can sometimes mean acknowledging a lack of control over a situation. This loss of control can be frustrating and lead to anger
5. Blame and Accountability: The truth can sometimes place blame or responsibility on someone, which can be difficult to accept. This can lead to feelings of guilt or shame, which often manifest as anger
Understanding these triggers can help in managing reactions to the truth and fostering more constructive responses. Have you experienced a situation where the truth made you or someone else mad?

Your dem education hard at work
SNL, Todays politics Lol
This is a Democratic board, So I talk about the dems :)....Bashing the repubs got old, they ignored fact, played the fallacy and gas lighting games, spun everything to their own narrative, had their own media to keep the echo chamber effect going with sound bytes more often than not out of context and played the trending game to stear their reporting..........and more
Now its hard to tell the difference between the two, lol
Dems will allow Castration for 10yr olds........Yep teens and pre teens are considered responsible and mature enough to make that choice.....On to some repub states won't let one get an abortion even if raped......
There is no high ground for either of the 2 groups of idiots!
16 before you can drive without a parent or licensed driver.....
16 to certify as a glider or balloon pilot
17 For an airplane
18 is old enough to kill in war, but not to have a drink till 21
You can buy a car at 16 but not rent one till 25
Parents can't sign a waiver for a minor to skydive......minimum age 18
But dems think castration is permissible for minors
And rape is not an exception for abortion for some repubs

Not surprised at all....Dems have run education for the past 50 years,,,,making up the majority of teachers, administrators and professors
Its become misused intellect, look at the debacle collages have become.......What people like you thought were important courses only bloated college costs
It wasn't math and science....
Bull.........We are 27th in math now, great initiative.....Last time this country pushed science and math was the space race......And its the last time we had the best education ranking in the world......
But don't worry B S rules the day so you have plenty of company,
But reality could care less...
And in the naked light, I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
No one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
In tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence
NO one has been screaming to youth we need more scientist and engineers etc...We will have to invent our way out of climate change........In fact the US ranks down the list in science and math......No one is even addresses education, just the petty culture wars for the easily distracted.....
World energy demands are ever increasing...... That's reality
No high ground for dems on anything but rhetoric, the reality of energy needs isn't going away.......Banning plastic bags and gas ovens? Really? Reality dictates we need science and engineering innovation........ Its starts with education
There are several reasons for the increase in demand for energy
Economic development: As countries develop and populations increase, their energy requirements grow.
Advances in technology: New products and technologies require energy.
Urbanization: Demand for energy increases with urbanization.
Increasing wealth per capita: Wealthier populations consume more energy.
Industrialization: Rapid industrialization leads to higher energy demand.

I loved the teaches surprise......Pride was once for all Americans, that and respect for all ........If she teaches long enough, she will come to understand the children's pride........
Yet half this country would prefer him over you...still a tight race even with all considered....
Dems have been out of touch to the point trump (of all people) is more acceptable than you.....
The Great Prosperity to The Great Regression
In 1960 Springfield was a thriving community,,,,,,Its part of the rust belt so when American industry was outsourced it took a hit hence the population loss.......Not so unlike 100s of communities throughout the US....
Although their population is now up again, its full of cheap undereducated labor......Dems love their cheap labor, and will take up for anyone outside of the US.....They just quit giving a shit about the American workers as they became the party of the rich........
Sending the industry jobs off for profit may have well worked out well for the upper percent......But out sourcing and flooding the country with cheap labor has kept wages low and the full impact is being felt now as inequity is past that of the quilted age and the inflation is bringing us to the breaking point....
Dems don't get it, Call it a mental capacity thing
Why bother?
That explains an awful lot
Of course I'm worried about a 78 year very sick man with dementia who is running for president. What should worry everyone in the country is that Kamala Harris will have a very good chance of becoming leader of the country. #BidenIsDying.
(Exactly what people were worried about and look where we are now.....LoL
Thanks for playing ;)
Speaking the truth however does something, be it a broad truth or a single fact.......Compliance with corruption is not an answer, anyway you look at it you are still a member of a corrupted party........
Bipartisanship as you noted is the answer, But when the system sees corruption as the cost of doing business you will find no true sense of working together, instead, pitting one side against the other, be it the media or politics, division keeps the donors and corporations happy, the status quo and beyond is kept in tact with only token bills to satisfy talking points and loopholes that are written in......
So, speaking the truth is what's truly lacking, its the best place to start, not the twisted truths that are spread out to and by party loyals.....
This is how its done

Harris would turn nation into Kamalafornia, where illegal immigrants get free money
Way back when we didn’t even know who the candidates would be in November’s election, I said that there would be one choice above all.
The choice for the country would boil down to “Which direction America?” And if you boiled that question down further the question would be “California or Florida?”
Both states are sunshine states. Both have a huge amount going for them in their weather, their natural beauty and much more. But they are also polar opposites — geographically and, more importantly, politically.
Today, Florida is a poster child state for Republicans. A place of low taxes and reformable education. And a state that was sane during the insanity of COVID.
California, on the other hand, is the poster child state for Democrats. A place of high taxes, the most insanely indoctrinated education. And a place which went absolutely nuts during COVID.
Between them you still see the choice for this country. And the decision of Kamala Harris to run for the Presidency makes the choice even clearer.
Because of course before she began her DEI journey to the White House, Kamala was Senator for California. Before that she was Attorney General of California and District Attorney of San Francisco.
When people look at the scarred dystopia of what should be one of America’s most beautiful cities, they can to a great extent thank Kamala.
The current situation in San Francisco and California as a whole is Kamala’s creation.
If she does rise to the highest level in the land in November we certainly know what to expect. America will not go the way of Florida. It will go the way of California.
Like Gavin Newsom, Kamala is one of those West Coast politicians who after ruining a city and then a state seems to hope that they can roll out the same disaster across the whole land.
What wonders can we expect?
Well just yesterday we learned that the Democrat-controlled California Legislature has found a new way to go bust even faster than before.
The bill that easily cleared the state Senate by 25-14 and then 45-15 majorities is called Assembly Bill 1840. And it is addresses one of the big housing needs in the state.
Does it plan to do anything to address sky-high property prices in dirty and crime ridden San Fran? Does it seek to do anything about the people who can just pitch tents in front of your house and live there because of their “right to rest”?
No — the bill has summoned up a whole new type of crazy.
It aims to help illegal migrants to get on the housing ladder.
Yes, you read that right. The California State Senate has decided that “undocumented immigrants” (illegals) should be eligible for a taxpayer-funded home loan program.
This would provide up to $150,000 in down payment help for eligible first-time home buyers.
Just to recap that. This means that an illegal migrant who has never paid anything into the system in social security or taxes is going to be helped out by law-abiding tax-payers onto the already inflated Californian housing ladder.
Please can someone make it make sense?
Why should people who have played by the rules keep having to shell out money to people who haven’t? Are all the legal migrants and Americans born-and-bred already on the housing ladder?
Does every legal Californian already live in their dream house? If not then where is the sense in deciding to make a priority of giving taxpayer funds to people who have broken into the country illegally and helping them — of all people — to have a better life?
Nor is this the only nutty Californian policy to help illegal immigrants.
At the beginning of this year California became the first state to offer health insurance to all illegal immigrants. All illegal immigrants — no matter their age — are now eligible for Medi-Cal (California’s version of Medicaid).
Previously California allowed illegals aged 19-25 as well as adults from 50 on up to be on Medi-Cal. But apparently that was not affirming or welcoming enough.
So now a further 700,000 or so illegals aged 26 to 49 are also eligible for Californian health insurance.
Again, are the health insurance provisions for all legal residents of California so grand that this final “inequity” can be addressed?
Is everyone else in the state so fit and healthy that treating illegal migrants is the final answer needed before nirvana?
Not on my visits to the State. Whenever I am in California — and especially in San Francisco — I spend a significant amount of my time wondering why on earth the pavements are covered in human feces and why so many people are zonked out on drugs in the middle of the main shopping areas in the middle of the day.
But the California legislators have different priorities. In 2015 the state decided to allow illegal immigrants to acquire driver’s licenses. I suppose it’s convenient for the illegals, if no one else.
After all California is absolutely covered in “sanctuary cities” which pledge not to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
Oakland – where Kamala Harris was born — became a sanctuary city in 1986. San Francisco in 1989. Los Angeles in 2023. But all these places always want to out-woke each other.
Which may be why Sacramento (where Kamala Harris served as Attorney General) recently decided that being a sanctuary city isn’t enough.
Earlier this year Democrats there voted to make Sacramento a “sanctuary city for transgender people.” Which will doubtless help the local economy no end. So long as the local economy is nothing but hormone sales and “gender reassignment surgery.”
This is the air that Kamala Harris breathed — but also created — throughout her time in California. And it gives us an idea of what she would like to roll out for the country.
At a time when illegal immigration is at an all-time high it is clear that the Democrats want to prioritize everyone except for hard-working tax-payers. And help absolutely everyone out unless they are a non-trans person who is living in the US legally.
There is a lot of madness in that state. But a great deal of ruin for a nation that goes down the same path.
