Hi Tofuzzy Tom
Thak you for your information.
I went to Zacks site. It list capital appreciation at o%. This is what i was looking for.
This share has been atound since the 1930s . It never added any new stocks to its stable of shares. It cut some over the years. Some financials were dropped in 2008 when they cut dividends. It was set up such that it would purchase new shares in equal share amounts not in equal dollar amounts ,whenever funds poured in to warrant purchases. There is no turn over of stocks. There is really no management. The same shares that were bought in 1930s are there or there descendants.
Just a very interesting buy and hold .
Thanks
Neko
Hi
If one used lexcx as an investing vehicle. It never sells or buys new shares to be included in its stable of stocks. Barring ones own activity in purchase or sales. If this stock was buy and hold would capital gains taxes occur yearly as in some mutual funds? Is it a good share to hold in a general brokerage account as little or no capital gains taxes occur. This I am not sure of this?
It is an investment trust with zero turnover .It has been around for at least 75 years.

PS I might not have said it correctly what I want to find out

Hi toofuzzy and sf
Thank you for your help. I did make a mistake it is a 403b plan as you pointed out.
I'll send it on to them.

Hi one and all
My son's feance has a 503b . She is looking to invest yet have the option to borrow against it. I know nothing about this so can people lead me by the hand and explain a 503b. Does one pick the financial institution or does the employer. Can one borrow against it and does any one know of such financial institutions. Again they are just looking for suggestion and will use due diligence.
Thank you

Hi Lostcowboy
Was away so didn't look at web site. Thank you for your answer

Hi Lostcowboy
I forgot to ask , Does HILO Twinvest ever sell ,or it just buys only as original Twinvest. Synchrovest has selling rules as well as buying rules. What are the selling rules if any
Neko
Hi Lostcowboy.
Thank you for your thorough explanation. There is an article on sureinvesting website about systems versus experts. Dated April 4 2017 It is a dividend oriented web site. It also has 8 rules for investing. A system just what this discussion board is about. perhaps you would like to review it or comment.
Respectfully
Neko.

Hi
Lexcx is a mutual fund that has had zero turnover since its inception. In strategizing over its use . In a taxable account I assume there would be no capital gains . Since nothing is ever sold except for redemption of shares as a person sells out their position. The dividends I assume are taxable .
I have come to the conclusion that I don't want to beat the market as much as I don't want to be beaten by the market.
Chase has a fund of funds. They are always selling and buying . It is their conservative allocation fund. It is a fund of funds. Do they make money by constantly buying and selling mutual funds.
My friend had shares in it. He saw little advancement over its value.
Hi Praveen
I tried out udpix 2x fund with constant value. I took the percent change per listing at yahoo.com and worked it from beginning of its existence to now. I applied it onlyto his once per year. If i did it right it increased 90 percent . I started with a 50 50 mix of cash and stocks. i did it that way because it is a 2x fund of the dow.
I used yahoo finance performance table to do it.
Thank you for your answer
Neko
ps this was straight constant value. It was not value averaging.
Mr. Kelly mentioned it as a way to enhance dow performance.
I also tried it in aim and the results were even better. I am referring to his previous book . i forgot the title.
Hi praveen
I made a mistake on the title . It is the 3% signal.
My apologies . I guess it was a senior moment

Hi Praveen
I just read a book called 3% solution. It is value averaging using a bond fund and a stock fund specificly small caps. can your constant value metod be modified to a value average . where the amount would grow 1% a month as recommended in this book . You would let the methodology of constant value and the prescribed growth determine the next buy and sell point
I believe the authors last name was Kelly.

Has anyone ever used an index called rise fal index. It was presented by brian j. Millard a british chemist. He also published software to chart stock movements. It is presented In onee of his many books. Profitable charting techniques. It is best per my memory of timing an entrance to the market I think.

Hi all
My friend removed his money from the bank.
He bought vwinx. Gets 6 percent. Very good down turn performance.
He sleeps better at night now. He was taking benadryl to sleep.
The bank was charging him on his portfolio for 4 percent performance. A fee of 1.5 percent on th e fund plus 1 percent managerial fees.
Vwinxg is about .25 percent.
Thank you
Neko
Hi Adam Tom
He has an account at a bank . He is in a balanced fund. The fund is a fund of funds. it takes 1.6 % in fees it aso pays the financial advisor a fee.
i dont want to say the name. the difference between it and vanguards vwinx is the fees. As both are about 60/40 mix of bonds and stocks.
vwinx is about 7% annualized last ten years. it is about 5.5%
I read some where that the mix of components determins outcome of an investment.
They constantly add and drop funds in the mix I believe to generate fees to the fund management.
I think he could do better with some balanced low cost funds such as prwcx or vwinx etc.
Thank you
Neko
Hi
I have a question on copying a mutual fund. On yahoo they list holdings of funds. How much percent holds in e.g. consumer staples ,utilities etc.
My friend is interested in a fund that is closed. He and I were wondering if he purchased etfs that invested in the various sectors of a specific fund ,would he get similar results overall to the original fund. He was interested In prwcx which is part of my retirement account but is closed.
Thank you
Neko
Hi lc

Hi all
There is aim by the book. Ther is Tom's split safe on aim Web site . With vealies. What is the modern thinking on split safe the buy side.and sell side. The minimal sell or buy percent . The initial percent of money to invest and what to leave in credit reserve. I need to know thmodern thinking so I can have a bases to compare to.
I use pretty much mutual funds with beta of about 1 PRWCX.
Neko
Hi praveen
How would you modify your awk or perl script to use or include virtual shares . To make your system more aggressive. I am interested in your system . I know aim has ld aim. I understand your system the best as it is straight forward. But I want to get more out of it within reason. Virtual shares in a small propportion might be the answer. I want to experiment first before committing.
Thank you.
Neko
Hi lostcowboy
What is the modern thinking and parameters about synchrovest.
Initial cash reserve percent . Sell off point as far as percent increase of the synchrovet stock position. Etcetera. What else have you or others learned about it.
Does anyone use it
I have the second edition. Mr. Lichello in last chapter recommended using blue chips. Also not buying or using more than 50 percent of cash reserve any one time.
Thank you

HI Tom
What would the effect of taking three stable funds and rebalancing them over a long period of time. I had in mind prpfx, vwinx, prwcx
They are hybrid funds. Would marc HIngs opportunistic rebalancing work with these.

Hi Lostcowboy
I followed your reference to the spanish site on twinvest.
They mentioned a GAD system? Is this an aim system or a twinvest system? Or something new? would you know?

Hi O.A.G.
I found a very interesting fund lexcx. Formed in 1935 . No turn over . Good to run and test programs on. Last ten years about 9% annualized return. It was rule based about its buying etc.
Neko
Hi Tom
Is there a web site where you can see the results of mixing different specific equities. How they moderate the end results. eg.g. I own premx and prwcx mutual funds. They perform differently. If i owned both over time what would my end results be. I hope I explained my self well.
Thank you
Neko
