I would like to throw something out for thought:
The whole issue of concern, as I understand it with respect to equity for shareholders has arisen from a comment made by Chemtura's attorney. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't he work for Rogerson?
Rogerson said publicly that they were working and confident that they could protect the interests of of all stakeholders, and shareholders are stakeholders. Now his credibility is somewhat damaged by the words of his own lawyer who in fact should also have some accountability for our interests IMHO. Shareholders are in fact who Rogerson and the BOD work for right?
It's probably a good idea for the full court press for the EC to counterbalance all the games and jockeying of the creditors with valuations etc..., ESPECIALLY if there ends up being a debt for equity swap, and it was done for other cases like PGPDQ ect, BUT....
Should we not also express our displeasure with this attorney's remarks and with how things are going with valuations and legal expenses to Rogerson and the BOD, especially in light of the recently approved bonuses for Key Employees. If they give away our equity in all the jockeying and don't protect our interests, I'm afraid they are just not that Key to me. What do you guys think of that?
GET IN MY BELLY FLUFFY!!!!!
MC it would be a loss to us if you did that (never post again). Everybody makes mistakes. You have as much right to do that as any of us. You have taken responsibility for yours, and that is more than many would do. My life would be terrible if I quit an activity every time I made a mistake. Take care of your wounds and needs and when the time is right, get back on your horse and enjoy the rodeo.
MC is due honor, respect and appreciation for his contributions, I will express only gratitude for his hard work and sharing of information.
I've been riding this long and strong since $0.04 and it has been in part because of his work in making it easy to see the benefit of the opportunity. In my opinion, the strategic reasons for being here have not changed.
In reading his post, I picture a young many who has worked very hard for the benefit of his family who knowing he knows there is a debt of rest, work on relationships, and professional growth that must be repaid has made a decision to exit so as to focus on that without worries or expectations that are incompatible with those needs. These are the actions of a wise man, who can make that decision for reasons that are unrelated to anything to do with the stock.
I for one, intend to stay onboard and ride this to long term capital gains with CEMM, too much money coming in, too many big block buys, too much action on bonds to be worried that I can't do that. I beleive this thing will go much higher, and if it doesn't I'm still good in here. I do not know of a better opportunity anywhere.
I SECOND THAT.
I'd be interested in that too.
Straight up, Absotively and Posolutely!
The best indicator of a man's character is how he treats and shows respect for those that are less powerful. It is rare in large corporations, very rare. It speaks volumes to the man's honor and capability as a leader.
One other thing it is extremely unlikely that the Judge will rule against Chemtura in the BP case. It would be extremely politically unwise, and would forever be viewed as unjust by the general public and some members of congress in paticular.
Why?
1) BP has been very active in trading oil and other energy futures, some bp employees have been convicted of market manipulation, and the company has been fined for that in the past.
2) Guess why energy prices were artificially high at the time that CEMJQ entered into these hedging agreements? There were congressional hearings on this, remember?
3) How does it look for a foreign-owned multinational conglomerate super-major, one of the very largest exploiters of domestic hydrocarbon resources on federally controlled leases to "beat up" on a red-blooded American tax paying scion of industry that employs thousands of red blooded hard working tax paying americans in bankruptcy court over a deal that was created under conditions that they themselves have been found guilty of creating in the past? It's like this, bp probably had nothing to do with those market conditions this time, but they can never prove it because they were convicted of it before-so that suspicion will always remain and will fuel a huge uprising with any ruling other than in CEMJQ's favor.
The very smartest thing that bp could do is to be a "good citizen" and earn some good will by settling this amicably with CEMJQ to preserve the valuable customer and business relationship with them and stay out of court. If they don't then they deserve what they are likely to get, which is probably far less than what might be done in a settlement.
That would be awesome, but we'll probably see some dump-birds before then. LOL
A guy of that caliber does not just shoot his mouth off. Communications like that are like writing a novel, there is a setting, a plot, and character development that deliberately goes with it.
I hope so too, and all indications are that business has been brisk for CEMJQ, the unknown is G&A expense and writedowns, etc... A wise management deals with bad news as quickly and fully as possible to get it behind them or unless it can be used to accomplish a strategic purpose, and I suspect those things have been done to properly manage expectations by what seems to be a stellar management team, but only time will tell. MOR's in the past haven't brought about big moves like things such as DIP financing or cleaning house has. I am glad to hear of the house cleaning, there is no better tool than BK to accomplish that.
Thanks
Thsnks
Board seems quiet tonight. It shows postings in the last 40 mins but last one I can see if from 2 hours ago.
Pipul or Manti,
It looks like bolles may be fanning out on the chart, is this just my eye or is it real and what does in mean?
More for the letterman list started yesterday....some of you may recall my posts here and on Yahoo about CEMJQ's great position in the domestic bromide brine market.

If you look at the drudge report you will see news story links about a huge oil descovery in the Gulf of Mexico confirmation of what I was talking about, huge discoveries 7 miles deep...

Chemtura is one of only 2 remaining suppliers of zinc and calcium bromide completion brines, development of these fields and those like them will require a lot of the stuff.
That would be the one.
GS Stock treated me ok though, but nothing like this one has. Money coming in ultimately means we go up, as this market is after all a weighing machine disguised as a voting machine. A deep dyed green will ultimately show through a thinly contrived red Earl Scheib job every time.
Those who are self made rich did not get there by being timid or unimaginative. I would not be surprised at any of these fun speculations, but one thing is clear, the big block buyers that have been active of late aren't here to entertain us and they are patient, good at picking up a lot of low float stock without driving the PPS up too quickly.
I have learned a lot from watching the posts on this board. Have any of you wise ones been staying up with some of the predictions of dire consequence in octoberish timeframe of chinese origin predicted by our financial pulp merchants and newsletter peddlers? If so, how do you foresee this may affect us here as CEMJQ equity holders?
YUP.
from the movie "Dr. Strangelove"
You mean just like ol' Slim Pickens "Major Kong"?!
If it is, they will strap a jato rocket + some super-sonic lipstic on this hog B4 it flies again!
Let's see, does our rational exuberance + positive bond movement + big stock movement + short interest + lots of seemingly rapidly changing bid/ask combinations with frequent strategic small bid slaps peppered with a few respectable block trades. Could it be the application a famous but highly secret proprietary Kosher recipe of an origin that begins with a "G" and ends with an "S"?

CEMTURA CP
Daily Commentary
Our system posted a BUY CONFIRMED today. The previous SELL recommendation was issued on 08.25.2009 (3) days ago, when the stock price was 0.5200. Since then CEMJQ has gained 49.04% .
BUY-IF is confirmed by a white candlestick which has an open equal to the previous close but closing higher. The buying price is the previous close ( 0.7000 ) according to the Rules of Confirmation.
The recent bullish formation leading to the BUY-IF signal is confirmed today. The market seems ready for a new bullish move. Though the market opened lower today, the day’s activity created a white candlestick that closed above the previous close. This is a valid confirmation criterion.
The significant failure of the previous SELL signal is unfortunately confirmed too. Our shot went away this time. It is a fact that such signal failures are more unlikely for higher rated stocks, but it is not possible to deal with all the vagaries of the stock market. The signal system, however, continues to do an excellent job in the overall, despite such failures. This can be seen easily with a quick glance to the signal history table.
We hope that you bought this stock and still have the chance to profit from the later phase of the bullish attack. Today your important benchmark was the previous close. You were supposed to watch the session carefully, feel its bullish tendency despite the lower opening, and go long after making sure that the prices stay over the previous close.
If you bought, continue to hold this stock until the confirmation of the next SELL-IF signal. You are on relatively safe grounds as long as the future prices continue to trade above the benchmark price and if an emergency warning is not issued. What to do if you did not buy? Maybe, you did not have time to follow the session or you simply delegated the delicate job of confirmation to us. Well, it is a bit late, but not too late. You may still find suitable prices for buying in the following sessions and still profit in case of a sustained bullish move.
I'll be dippin a toe in that next week if it hits my strike price.
BrassOnes, I have immense respect and gratitude for your service. Make no mistake, I have never been in the military, just worked as an engineer in the oil industry. I can tell some interesting true stories but I doubt they can compare to yours. When I was young and "in shape" I was often mistaken for one of you guys because I was in places where you guys have been known to go. My father was a decorated Naval Aviator so I absorbed a lot of his attitudes and lingo growing up and I almost did a career in the military but decided against it in the end because I was married with small children when I earned my degree. I often wish I had done it.
Now on the topic of cars, I found a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa with only 10,000 miles on it, but I checked the specs on it and a corvette Z06, a nissan GTR or even and turbocharged modified & dynotuned Mustang GT that is available locally here in Houston will outperform the old Ferrari. Since I had the bad habit of driving sports cars I have owned like I stole them, I'm thinkin one of those newer ones might be a better idea for me. Until then, I will restrict my thrill rides to my Honda GL-1800 as it has held up better than any sportscar I have ever owned.
Thanks Pipul for that excellent treatise on technical analysis. I could no longer remain a "lurker" on IHUB, so I went ahead and registered so I could post. I wanted to do that so so that I could express my admiration and gratitude to you and the many awesome folks like MC, CMM and many others for their great DD, analysis, and skill in putting emotions in perspective with facts and logic.
The logic got me into this stock in a big way at $0.04, and the great TA and continued DD kept me here and gave me the cojones to realize my losses from the last 2 years and build a position of over 600,000 shares here.
I'm a neophyte on the technicals, really a fundamentals guy and an engineer by training and profession BSChE University of Texas who has morphed into a petroleum engineer-some of you may recall me as Scratdaddy over where the cowboy yells. This isn't the only IHUB MB I monitor or have monitored in my quest for financial freedom, but it is undoubtedly the best.
I previously lacked the financial security of many of my peers and colleagues due to the losses incurred from a willful spouse and costly divorce along with my commitment to assure college educations for 4 kids (3 of my own and 1 new very disrespectful possibly temporary stepchild). I've done that without help or appreciation from anywhere by investing. I got where I am and have done what I have done on my own, I worked my way through college and know how hard that really is, and don't wish that on anyone. I've had adventures all over the world in the course of my work, but this one with CEMJQ that happened on my computer on quiet lonely evenings ranks right up there in adrenaline quotient with encounters with pirates and refugees in the South China Sea and spending an interesting evening with the Spetznaz in Russia. It surpasses any of them in terms of lasting value, as it will truly change my life.
I'm strapped in the bang seat g-suit active on ready-5 those flipping shareholders with a weak grip will become FOD-Burgers as we longs are catapulted into the "event horizon" to a new reality of wealth and freedom. I'm long and strong without selling a share.
It's fun to check my portfolio at the end of a hard work day and see the equivalent of 6 months pay apprecition in my portfolio in a single day. Funny thing is, nobody knows about this but me, not even the new ol' lady who tells me how stupid I am every day! Oh, yea...this is gonna be real fun!!!
