Not going to go much past 40 if it even hits that. At this point this stock has a higher chance of going down than going up. Too slow moving for me to mess with this now, but I would rather be short than long at this price.
When itcomes to insiders, and hedge funds, trading laws are rarely followed. The sooner you come to realize this, the better off you will be. Sure there are a few cases where there is a slap on the wrist, but they still come out ahead.
By the time you realize that the big players sold, you will be left holding the bag, and your cash will have done a disappearing trick.
ExActly. I have been wanting a Tesla since 2006. The roadster is not very practical for me, so I have been waiting for the model S. I don't know if I can wait until 2012 though. I'm very close to just ordering a roadster now. Once you drive one , there is no going back to fossil fuel vehicles.
Lol, I want what you are smoking. There is still wayyyy more downside to this than upside. You do realize we are in a bear market right?
Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, the only people claiming BP is going to go up more than a few bucks per share in the near term, are underwater, and panicking.
LOL. Not going to double unless gas goes to $10 a gallon.
Puts are a good way to reduce risk, but you really have to be experienced to consistently make money.
You forgot to mention that in the case of bp, there is very little to no risk of loosing over 100% because the stock is not going to go back to $60 anytime in the near future.
If you have the money in your acct. to cover a price increase, then you will have all the time in the world to cover. Some brokers charge interest and fees for sitting on an uncovered short. Check with your broker. If you are inexperienced I would not short away. You can loose $$$ pretty fast. Do your research first.
When you short you are essentially selling borrowed shares. The price you sell at times the number of shares gets added to your acct. When you cover, you are buying the shares back, so that's when the money gets taken out of your acct.
You have to be nuts to go long at $30 now. This stock is not going up by much anytime soon. Once it breaks the $29 support, look out. Very risky buy right now.
This is by far the most idiotic post I have read on the Internet ever.
Lol. The banks lost a little more than 50% of their pls value during that. Apples to Oranges.
$51 price prediction by September?
You have to be kidding me. Did I read that right?
What planet is he from?
UMM, the well is still polluting, divi cut, burning through cash very quickly. There is still a lot of uncertainty.
That may be, but it will go lower soon.
Don't worry it will be red soon enough. Went short today with a few shares as a feeler. Will short more if it goes up.
I strictly daytrade. I'm going to be away from the computer until Friday, and trading from the Iphone is slow. I had a preset order to short some overnight, but it didn't hit.
This thing will probably tank tommorrow. Too bad I covered before close. Trading from an Iphone sucks.
Different scenario here. A lot of O/S and the worst spill in history on their hands, IMO. This might go back up a little tommorrow. Don't be fooled though, when the official news of the divi elimination comes, this will take a nosedive. This stock is a shorts DREAM right now.
When you factor in that funds short naked and don't report short sales, the numbers really mean nothing.
That's likely old info. Don't be fooled, there is plenty of short interest here.
But not today.... I'm covering for today. BTW
I hope you know there is a difference between buying bp and buying their worthless stock.
For now there is only downside. When they finally get this plugged, that will be when you should decide if this stock is worthwhile. That is the least risky way to go about getting the best price if one wants to go long.
Shareholder equity was just over 100B, according to their last filing.
If they default on their debt, that costs 25B in penalties.
Then add the cleanup costs, lawsuits, federal fines.....
Can you see where I'm going with this?
IMO, $25 is the next stop after the slide in the next couple of days. Going long on this is FINANCIAL SUICIDE.
Yeah left field, but when the stock has lost only 40% if its value, during the worst spill in history, the only risk free way to make money is short/puts.
To all the longs: your money is waving you goodbye. Better take one last look at it.
$19 for a little bit, and then lower. This oiled turd will see single digits.
Ummmm, deffering or dilluting is just another way to phrase dividend elimination. BP is trying everything to help their shares stay afloat.
That works for a while, but eventually hurts because you run out of stupid people to support this stock.
I 'm pretty sure the day to short this was Friday, during the "dead cat bounce".
This is going to open nowhere near $34 tommorrow.
After doing more research, I have come to the conclusion BP is finished. Instead of stopping and cleaning up this mess, all they are worried about is PR and fancy commercials/appologies.
Looks like the shorts will make a killing here in the next month.
PR only works for a little bit. There is still oil spewing into the Gulf. Look at their balance sheet, at the rate they are going through cash, the near term looks bleak. This POS hasn't lost 50%of it's value yet, and this has a good chance to be the world's biggest spill soon.
Maybe not getting delisted, but certainly not going up in price. If you look at what the shares of Exxon did during that spill, this has a way to go down yet. Exxon even kept paying their dividend after the spill. This stock will fall of of a cliff when the dividend is officially eliminated.
Anyone that doesn't think so, is in denial because they are underwater in this stock. If you look at it from a common sense perspective, there is not much upside to this in the short term.
It's only up temporarily so hedge funds can get more out of their shares. Don't be fooled, this thing is going back down next week. That's why I said this was toxic at these prices.
This stock is probably not going to go to $5, BUT buying it at this price is as toxic as the spill itself.
Unless you daytrade this turd, do yourself a favor and stay out until this mess is sorted out.
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT!
Everyone who has these worthless warrants needs to write a letter to the court before it is too late.
When these guys steal 100% of your $$$$, you will only have yourself to blame. A short letter takes 20 minutes, and a couple of bucks to mail using certified mail.
TOGETHER WE CAN STOP THESE THIEVES!
Here are the addresses and suggestions on what to include in the letter.

I would not hold my breath. The judge in this bankruptcy case(Kevin Gross) is a complete moron, and treats his job as a 9-5, doesn't care and follow the bankruptcy laws, and has no regard for shareholders.
Just look what happened with the AVRNQ bankruptcy. Same Judge.
Usually shares held in the treasury have no voting rights. I wonder why they do have voting rights in this case?
Also, if the three major holders in listed in that, statement vote yes on the POR, it will pass even if all the float shares vote no. It seems like they might have this scam covered from every angle.
According to form 13g/a, the 11+ million or roughly 27.5% outstanding shares Aventine holds have voting rights. I knew they had 21+ million shares held in the treasury, so are these 11 million shares in addition to the treasury shares they hold?
Aventines shares have voting rights?
I have a question. I looked over the documents, and nowhere does it say the warrants can be cancelled at any time by the new AVE like the linked article in a previous post mentions.
Am I missing something?
