That's right, no such thing as Durable Goods anymore. Harder to find and/or quite a bit more expensive. You heard it here 1st, Disposable Goods is the way of the future and Durables are of the ages. Had a Kenmore Washing Machine just die, it lasted 38 years!!! Now that's Durable Goods, 70s vintage .. don't make 'em like that anymore.

BTW, the Dryer is still running (less moving parts) could go another 5-10 years, who knows...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

It's hard for me to believe that I was born here on iHub this very day nearly 10 yrs ago. WoW! It seems like just yesterday when I broke in with the Zeev Hed crowd (may he R.I.P.) and shortly thereafter started this foum in Sept'03. Those were some lonely times when I was the only poster on my board, but as rime passed and I continued to do what I had intended which was to create a wealth of information on a board that people could rely on for the straight dope. I guess word of mouth got around? I never imagined that someday this board would be well over 400+ strong. I miss this board and hope to return soon. I can imagine what some people may be thinking about my prolonged absence. Maybe when I return I will fill you in, but as a hint you probably read or hear about it most everyday, I just happened to be in the unfortunate position of it all coming down at the same time with some other rather odd issues throughout the year.

I would like to give special thanks to nlightn & al44 for keeping our neighborhood safe and sane during my absence and a very special thanks to All of YOU for tuning in, lurking, participating and/or contributing to this forum. Trust me, it does not go unnoticed.

BUT 2012 could very well be a breakout year and keep in mind that just because the Mayan Calendar (that we are aware of) is most likely a new cycle proceeded with a new beginning, not an end.

Hello everyone, I have some great news to share and that would be that there is a new Sheriff in town, BlackThought. So you all better straighten up and fly right or he will clip your wings! 8^)

Seriously though, BT has shown a desire to roll up his sleeves and straighten up the inconsistencies of this once on auto-pilot chat board. I am very happy to have him as an assistant and feel very confident that things are going to change for the better around here.

Our new residence (now Y2EOT, and no longer YE2OT) is up, running and open for business. Please feel free to settle on in, there should be no more surprises (for how long I could not say) but this IS home.

When starting a new board with this type of content, I was directed to that area for a place to put it. It was either that or put it under a stock ticker listing (those are free). Sorry, but I had not realized until now that non-paying members might be restricted from there. Is this what you are finding?

If so, maybe I can follow up with iH Admin and move it to a free users group area. Either that or start another in some free zone and evacuate the present area of the new board.

You have been part of this forum since the beginning so I know what you are about and that I can trust you to be fair and level headed in your determinations by putting the interest of the board ahead of your own personal interests (i.e. no grudges).

You may delete posts deemed unsuitable for this forum, you now have access to the board's management tools. Before executing any actions keep in mind that a warning goes a long way too sometimes. Also try to keep al44 in the loop so that he is aware of any actions being taken and can follow up accordingly if necessary.

Hello everybody, just thought I would drop a line to let people know that I have not fallen off the map or given up on this board or any other thoughts that may have crossed your mind. I can understand why one may think that, having gone from sole moderator and one of the most frequent posters to zilch. Truth be told, my time has been consumed by some personal and ongoing issues which all seemed to peak at the same time, the beginning of Dec. I really have not had the time or inclination to follow the markets, the economy or the media in general .. I have higher priorities to address.

But never fear, I do still lurk from time to time and eventually (not exactly sure when) I will be back up and running. al44 deserves major kudos and everyones respect for keeping the neighborhood clean. If you ever have something on your mind feel free to PM either al44 or myself.
