The wizard of Omaha is waiting. Great fit.IMHO
We will beat the consensus. That $.o9 skewed the number. I will buy.

Webcast TODAY
Chemtura Corp. at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Credit Conference (Live)
11/17/10 at 9:10 a.m. ET
Let's hope that we have a good turkey for the holidays. That would be a very welcome suprise....
I have been away from the board for a while. What is the estimated value per share now for the old CEMJQ.PK if there is any conversion? Should I use it as wallpaper?
Monday the 25th and Monday the 26th??
Berkshire Hathaqay to acquire Chemtura (IN MY DREAMS!!)
Seriously, it would be a great fit, both culturally and economically. Wouldn't I love to see Warren Buffet walk into the courtroom like Jimmy Stewart? G-D bless us one and all.
Even Stevie Wonder can see right through that sham that Rogerson is trying, repeat "TRYING", to pull. I am confident that Judge Gerber will not only do things right, but do the right thing.
So, let me see if I understand this. Despite all the efforts by Rogerson, His CFO still could not cook the books to hide that tidy profit of $40M. Judge Gerber is not a fool, and I am sure he does not appreciate Rogerson showing an utter disdain and total disrepect for the U.S. Court sytems and the body of laws that it is rule by. The long term stockholders do not deserve to be punished for good and faithful behavior. Without us, Chemtura would have had to fold its tent quite a while ago.
$.52, yes. Keep in mind that the volume was 386k...
So -
My question is as follows:
Given what we know now vs. a month ago, do I convert to $13.54 CHMT stock now, or wait until the last minute? Does it even make a difference?
I thought I posted this. I'll try again.
What the thought on valuation if Judge Gerber says 8%?
I am going to weigh my options very carefully. I still believe that better days are coming down the road.
To The Honorable Judge Gerber,
It is better to do the right thing than to do things right.
The choice is yours, sir.
55,000 NO's sent off today.
Thanks. Could you clarify what you think was meant by "She also said equity would not be completely "wiped out" but could be in the range of 1-1/2 and 10% under the august 4 POR disclosure"?
What does 1-1/2 and 10% mean in $$$'s?
Is there anyone aggresively fighting for the long time shareholders? I hope that The Honorable Judge Gerber does not allow us commons to become Wall Street waste water, only to be flushed away without a second thought.
Are we being sent ballots? How does this voting stuff work? Could someone share with the rest of us please?
If the creditors have approved, then why hasn't the price dropped to the previously announced number? Why the buyers? The only way it makes sense is that there is a buyer in the wings for all or enough parts to justify the higher price. Please, can someone make me sane again with another less illogical reason than mine!
I agree tht The FTC would not block it. If the market cap is $105m, $250m buys you the whole thing for just over a buck a share. Who would turn that down? And if CEM gets the financing, ALB's risk/reward ratio becomes very attractive.
IMHO -
Rogerson is getting rid of business units that would not be a good fit with the potential buyer. My sense is that it will be Albemarle. Market cap = $4billion. Lots of cash.
2nd Quarter Highlights
Achieved record quarterly earnings of 89 cents per share, more than double the prior year.
Net sales for the quarter increased 33% from prior year to $592.5 million.
Outstanding operating performance with strong year over year and sequential profit growth across all three segments, including record segment income for Polymer Solutions and Catalysts for the second consecutive quarter.
Strong cash generation. Cash and cash equivalents of $324 million at June 30, 2010.
If we can muster the suppport, It would be courteous to let Judge Gerber know that ??? million shares are in the process of preparing an injunction.
Would it be appropriate for posters to give an indication of being favorable to suggesting that the anchor be dropped, and the approximate amount of shares they own? The objective would to be to remove any questions about frivolity. Just a thought...
I am in favor of the anchor. Count my 30,000 shares in.
Please do not tug on Judge Gerber's cape...
Unfortunately, this was severely limited to the "unique nature" of Visteon employee retiree benefits.
"The appeals court agreed that Congress, through the bankruptcy code, intended to restrict a debtor's ability to modify or terminate retiree benefits during a Chapter 11 case, regardless of whether it could unilaterally terminate those benefits outside of bankruptcy.
Other courts have interpreted the bankruptcy code as saying creditors can't be given greater rights in a bankruptcy case than they had outside bankruptcy, but the appeals court cited the "unique nature" of retiree benefits in a bankruptcy proceeding.
Chemtura has established a toll-free Restructuring Information Hotline for interested parties, in the United States at 866-967-0261 or internationally at 310-751-2661.
I suggest that you change your password to this board as well. In addition be sure to change your passwords to Facebook and your e-mail provider.
I was wondering a well. Since the links do not point back to an actual filing, could it be that this board's contributor list was spoofed?
Wow! A whole $45,000 worth of cemjq has changed hands....
How about a price of 0.699? 1/1000th. Huh????
If indeed the # is a lowball, how much do you think they will up it? 300%? That would leave us still under a dollar.
So what! Are we going to get 2 or 3x $.32? Still under a buck if the way I am interpreting is correct.
The funny thing about that triple OT game was that people left because they thought it was over. The Boston Gaaahden also ran out of cigarettes and beer!
I Am as an avid Celts fan. I have been at every championship since 84. Most of our wins have been on the road. Do you remember a guy named Glen McDonald for the Celts? Think triple overtime against Phoenix, when he came off the bench to score six in the 3rd OT after all the starters fouled out except JoJo and Havileck.
I hope you picked stocks better than b-ball teams. GO CELTS! :>)

Just an attempt at brevity. Seriously, could they be in a "go quiet" phase of a negotiation or something like that?
I would at least like Rogerson to comment on the drop in price to reassure investors.
Hey! Here is one from the BP web site he could copy.
Release date: 10 June 2010
"BP notes the fall in its share price in US trading last night. The company is not aware of any reason which justifies this share price movement."
$1.41 to $.88 in a week. I am glad I lie on the 1st floor....
BTW - Would it be inappropriate to hear something from Rogerson about the drop?
