I get what you are saying, but calling us the newest reseller likens us to the numerous other resellers that were in existence before our shoppoken.com. The MOU said that we were to form a JV, and that JV was to have exclusive distribution rights in the US, of which we would get 60%.
I just want to hear from them that this is still the case, because I don't want us to compete with these other resellers going forward.
I'm not too concerned, because I feel like the investment and the seat on the board are good signs that we have accomplished what we needed to. This gets us in on the ground level, giving us opportunity for further investment in the future if this should take off.
Twitter post from Poken:
"We're pleased that our newest reseller in the US, EGC, is aiming high! www.poken.com/press-center #poken #sundance"
Not sure I'm excited that they are referring to us as just their newest reseller. I hope there is still potential for exclusive North American distribution rights. But, we still have 4% of the company and a board member, which I assume most other resellers don't have.
Bulls**t. I bought a rabbit's foot just yesterday.
In the meantime you should stop posting on this board.
Interesting. Lots of potential uses for the technology.
I assume their coverage automatically includes anybody that becomes a Director/Officer during the policy period. Most do.
I thought the same thing. Very creepy.

PokenZoo sells Pokens through their website and now Facebook. Is this going to be rolled into the marketing and distibution efforts of our joint venture? I thought the JV was supposed to have exclusive rights in N. America.
I don't remember who said it, but I still believe the "holding a volleyball under water" metaphor is very appropriate.
The ides of October treated us quite well. It was the end that sucked.
I don't think Yahoo! is going to be a 15 bagger.
I honestly don't think this is a problem. If you don't like Poken, I don't think TapMe will be any better.
Hate to post so many Poken articles, but found this review interesting. Apparently you can transfer contact info to outlook. The reviewer only points out two drawbacks, both invalid:
1) "Geared towards kids who won't pay the money for one."
(Younger age groups will easliy drop $20 if it is the trendy thing to do.)
2) "Professionals won't be interested because they look too childish" - (They are selling black flash-drive versions as well)

Yes, I was thinking more for college kids than younger ones as well. Very funny point about the wrong numbers from girls. Maybe they will carry around a separate Poken with incorrect contact information. Additional revs!
Take a look at these. Very simple style for those that don't want the toy look. I like this idea very much.

P.S.: China is pretty cool too.
It was a joke. Sarcasm doesn't translate well in text.
I understand where you are coming from, but I have to completely disagree. Those other things were children's entertainment that offered no real value past a few minutes of distraction. Poken is taking a massive industry like social networking, and actually making it social. Facebook is valued as a multi-billion dollar company with no real revenue stream. Take the immensity of that network, which is just one of many, and multiply it by the cost of buying a poken and you have huge revenues. I think the reason you think this is because of the child looking skins for the pokens, but one of the videos showed a poken that was black, sleek, and just looked like a blue tooth. I think this could be a valuable tool. Also, I could imagine you could build our pen scanner technology into the end of the poken. This has a lot of potential for a deal we weren't expecting, but three months from now houtheman will tell us that the PPS will plumit because there isn't a definitive agreement.
Not everyone likes hotcakes. I'm just pointing out risks.
Definitely a valid point though.
All those deleted posts. I obviously missed the action.
Houtheman, you had said that you care about being right more than making money. Since you are long in EGMI, does that mean that you are actually hoping the Lord dies and the stock tanks to prove yourself right? Why even invest in the company?
The last time the Lord died they wrote a testament about it. Now that would be great publicity for EGMI.
Thank for the lesson. I work for one of the biggest insurance companies in the world.
I get that you are upset that you bought in the 1.70's. But, for somebody that preaches keeping a level head and not letting emotions get the best of him, why is it our problem if you listen to the board and in fact let your emotions get the best of you?
I don't care about your money or the decisions you make with it.
First let me say that I don't know why we are speculating on somebody's death. I wasn't at the meeting, and don't know if Lord Steinberg is a decrepit old man or not. But, he is 73. The life expectancy for men in the UK is 77, and I assume this is higher for a multi-millionaire. So I am not worried at all. Why are you concerning yourself with his death? It's stupid and quite frankly morbid.
Is our Thomas the Tank Engine deal through HIT Entertainment, the owner of that brand, or did we get the rights through another company? It seems HIT has quite a few rocgnizable brands that we could pursue. Mind you all of them reached their peak in popularity 5-10 years ago.

Do kids even know what a train is anymore?
No use worrying about how much others have. It's all relative, and this small investment may reap huge rewards that will allow you to buy more on your next one.
I hear that wins the race.
When they close one high profile deal, all of this worry and negativity will be for nothing. If you have free cash put it in now, because we are going higher.
Remember the goal: NASDAQ
the sky is falling ... panic ... sell ...
I don't think I formatted that right.
That is the whole quiz.
Oh, and who won season 4 of American Idol?
How many questions can one of these quiz cards store?
I agree it is a huge deal with regards to upside potential. But if it falls through, any short term price decline will be aleviated by inking any number of other potential deals.
I seem to remember that before the announcement of the ChinaLot MOU, there was still a lot of excitement on this board for the future of EGMI. In fact, there was a contest to guess what the first two major deals would be. The resulting guesses were various major corporations. No guess was remotely close to a deal with the lottery of the world's most populous nation. Now that we have the potential for that deal, all of a sudden people are scared for the future if it doesn't work out? I guess I'm just not seeing how this became a MORE risky investment with the addition of a potentially gamebreaking deal.
I think you said enough from points 4 through 6. Screw what the market thinks or doesn't think in the short-term. That man knows what is going on, and he obviously thinks the prospects are good.
The China deal is huge, but do you honestly think their entire business plan hinges off of its success?
I don't think this banter is going anywhere. Basically, everyone agrees that if we get an announcement on the China deal with numbers attached to it, then we all make money. The disagreement is that one side feels the PPS will slide if the deal doesn't materialize, while the other side feels it won't hurt it. Either way until one or the other happens the points are moot. When either does happen, each individual investor will act according to his/her own philosophy.
Of course the market WANTS news. We all WANT news. But, in the short-term im not so sure it NEEDS news.
Let's not forget that when the market had this below 30 cents, the market in general was being a bit of an a-hole.
Seems to me that the market loves Thomas the Tank Engine.
Wait, we aren't trying to take a share of the video game market? I was misled.
I actually think the kid getting bored is the point. The parent drops $8-12 at the store/airport/etc. so their kid will stop talking for a few minutes. Next time they do it again.
Absolutely. It may be a pipe dream, but I envision our card and pen scanner combo augmenting or potentially replacing member/club cards at the various casinos. However, I really want that pen scanner to be cordless. Not necessarily wireless, but more streamlined with the USB plug built into the end of the pen like a flash drive. It doesn't seem too hard to do.
Good article. That would be icing on the proverbial cake. Big push here in a Ohio to get a few casinos to improve the struggling economy as well. However, these won't be Native American so this is probably irrelevant.
Someone had mentioned it on the yahoo board awhile back. I have been reading the board for some time now, but have just been sitting back and getting a feel for everyone. I hope I can offer a new perspective, but I will most likely just amplify the pro-EGMI sentiment.
When those that went to the meeting mentioned the American Idol example I was impressed, and hopeful that it wasn't just an example. Now that I see the presentation myself, I'm even more excited. Even if this isn't the real deal it gives me an idea of the professional quality that they are marketing to potential customers. Some of the older examples/ generic cards have seemed amateurish, but this is well put together. Something big is on the horizon.
I wanted to thank all of you that went to the meeting, and provided your insight. I have been in EGMI for a couple years now and although I do not have a position as sizable as most of you, I have appreciated the opinions and thoughts on this board.
