So many times I've thought of unloading my small position in RAS (666 shares after the split) but then I've liked how they've responded/bounced back since the downturn. Looking at the dividend history and historical prices I wonder if there's any chance it gets anywhere near back to old highs??? Even halfway there?? The trend is very positive on the dividend side and I see no reason why it won't keep going that way. Perhaps not every quarter like it was for a time, but trend should still move up. Will it be a $20 stock again? Or geez $90+ like 2007/2006, but I'm sure the float or something else was different then and I'm no stock guy. I just have a few in a ira.
Everyone so focused on their past......We can't say with any certainty that this ride will continue but there's no doubt it's going the right way. If they should keep their focus as it is, no doubt they will attract the eyes of others and who knows what might come of that. I only have 2k shares but I'm excited at the future potential, not what might be in the near term.
So there's always ridiculous Price Targets tossed out there (Not saying that about this $9) so let's do that here. With the current slate of games and surely expect the trend to continue, could this reach King status and hit the 20's? Or would get it bought before then.....
Well wisely so he left the door open to sale. Said it right too, if the premium is right, then sure it's on the table!!
True but wouldn't a lot of that already be priced in here the last couple weeks? Not sure when earnings are, but it's run so much of late, could fall back even on great earnings/guidance?
Unless KKH and Dino just keep raking it in (Dino yet to be determined) and blow further past that 200 mil mark.....
The only way it disappears is as that piece says, takeover. Now what is fair value for the combo of real estate properties and cash and games/licenses?? That really could happen, but won't happen cheaply!
Yup and that was all she wrote....take a breather time and wait for next leg up...
A company like Google (and this buy thing has been thrown out there numerous times) could look to buy them for not just licenses and online gaming possibilities, but also the combo of cash/real estate. Cash can disappear in no time, but Property values don't usually disappear as fast.......
Who knows......Pincus still owns it, and swears he won't sell. But EVERYONE has a price.
I don't get what the story is here???? I mean Execs who had been there (liked their paychecks) are now leaving.....Often house is cleaned when a new boss takes over, so in this case it has happened a lot more gradually. A new captain usually picks his own stars/coaches. And it was reported there'd be more staff cuts at next CC. I don't get why they don't cut half the staff RIGHT NOW. I don't understand what they're paying WAY TOO MANY people to do exactly???? I guess they wanna do it at the CC to give a stock price boost???? Maybe they all already know, and this gives them time to look for new jobs....
It's not gonna go up just because GLUU had a great qtr....Znga is gonna have to prove itself, on its own.
So it was mentioned somewhere about Facebook, at some point, maybe acquiring Znga or Gluu. I think pertaining to the online gaming issue. I can see this happening (somewhere.....somewhere....down the road) simply because of Facebook's HUGE pile of money to spend, and willingness to spend it!! The big fish gets bigger by swallowing up all the smaller ones in the sea. Not saying all purchases they make are gonna be wise or prudent, but when you have that much cash, you wield a pretty big stick!
I think it's clear it's doing the Znga run down. Zynga is having to prove itself these days, and whether that turnaround works or not is too young in it's process. King is going to have to prove itself too. I mean, what else can it do??? Once the Candy Crush train slow down, and it will......not saying it will come to a complete stop, but it will definitely slow, and already has....Then what do you have?????? It's making money, that's a plus....but other than CC, what does it have?????????
It was ridiculously over priced at $22, so going down it's a bad thing, just sucks for those that are losing on the way down. Granted, I reckon most that got in at the start weren't exactly "poor" by any stretch and probably aren't hurting too much right now....
Time will tell, will it go to single digits? Possible.......
Already invested in RAS, and have been in NRF before. Trying to decide whether or not to dump RAS and just invest into this or not?? Wondering if it's just better to stay in the individual companies, then touch this?
There goes the $KING bump.......$FB $ZNGA and $GLUU all getting beaten down this week.....amazing how quiet these boards are when it's a down, drab week....
Well Cramer is an Entertainer, so take his words with the same grain of salt you would ANYBODY else on TELEVISION. I have often been ENTERTAINED by his Mad Money show, but I take nothing said from his show as The Gospel, I do however take it and then go do a little research and perhaps keep things on the RADAR.......
People bash on him TOO much. Sometimes they should bash THEMSELVES more for taking something he said and running with it, instead of using their own head.
So both Gluu & Znga been down all week, thought there' be a run up to King IPO????
Tanking.....what's everyone do, only show up when things are going good????
Decided to hedge my bets and sell 2k of my 5k shares to move into Gluu. It was right at my $5.83 buy price, so figured good a time as any.
I just know if I sell my Znga (And I honestly don't plan to) I'll look back down the road and see it at $15 or more and beat myself up over it. I had thought of buying FB when it dipped to $25, selling my Znga (at a fair loss at that point....$3 range) and one other in my very small portfolio. And of course, I kick myself over not doing that......
Seems the real money thing, overseas or in the U.S. is not getting enough play. Could that part of things actually be much bigger piece than any hit game they "Might" come up with??? Do they honestly have to come up with that hit game if they truly go into the RMG. Or does that matter if it's both U.S. and International???
Curious.....
All quiet on a blah blah, take a rest day. What, no rocket ship to $6?? LOL. Yeah it'll get there and past, just not as fast as some dreamers wanna believe....
I'm at least feeling better about my $5.83 purchase point. I don't know if it'll ever get to $10 IPO price or $15 high point. Maybe I'm dreaming in that case....but while I couldn't buy more when it was lower, I always felt something here....maybe just the karma that I knew if I sold then it would FLY.......Or maybe I just didn't wanna take too much of a loss.
I dunno. Everything changed once Pincus stepped back and brought in Mattrick. That's probably why I wouldn't sell, at least not before you give Don a reasonable amount of time to either work magic or NOT......
Seems $6 is a sure thing, just asking a lot to call for that today is all. All in good time....or short time, but not hours.....
If it holds this kind of move that would say something. Granted after yesterday's move on a huge down day that might be asking a lot....but momentum is momentum, and where's there's smoke......
Without substantial news it's not gonna run like that.....to much profit taking to be done before then. Right now it's just about the revamping of their big games to Mobile. Now an increase in sales later from that, that type of thing would push it higher. But don't think it could possibly run that much in a day without something SIGNIFICANT. Already taking that Profit taking breather now...
End of the day, head into weekend sell-off. Across the board it seems......as usual, wait for things to hit peak late afternoon and sail off into the weekend with those gains.
So I guess Znyga is tired now, no reason for it to really move without some catalyst.
It seems obvious to me that they would, it's just such a tall order for them to do it themselves. So then it's just a matter of who or whom they partnered with? That's if they get back into the online gambling.
I guess they really haven't left it entirely, just in the U.S.
Bought at $5.83 and have questioned it many times since. Probably would have exited by now if not for the Mattrick move. Now it's just patience and knowing that if I sell I just know I'll regret it, only have 5k shares. Just can I leave it alone long enough....and sell when, $8 $10 or could it get back to IPO levels??
Just a Slots game, they're not exactly Candy Crush type of $$$ earners. I love my Slot games on Facebook, but 99% of them have crappy coin deals. They refuse to learn the CC way of asking for just a dollar or two here and there, no they want you to spend $50 or $100 and get hardly anything in return.....
I'm sure it'll be fun, but it's just a move in itself and not meant to make any waves. It's a gesture as they continue to work on other things. Throwing a piece of bread to the gulls.
I wonder why not a greater reduction?? They need to trim down to 1,000 or under...would a say 30% cut have had a bigger blow on morale? Everyone there has to know there's way too many of em...
Yup and undoubtedly there'll be further reduction down the road. All good points and things heading in the right direction. But by soon hope you mean over next couple years. Something significant would need to happen for it to run that high within a year..
Soon????? $14 may not be unrealistic as it was $15 early on.....but soon?? Aside from a buyout nothing would cause it to jump like that "soon". I never mind numbers being tossed out there, especially reasonable ones...but "soon"??? Come on man!!
That in itself is not any reason to say that's what's going on. I mean, King has 1/4 the employees, what does it ultimately come down to, all you need is 1 game!!! Zynga is clearly paying far far too many people to create, essentially "not much". Any layman would have to wonder what all those paid people are doing on a daily basis????????? So cutting out clearly unessential, unneeded fat is not an indicator of future sale......
Yeah but barring any breaking news about a new game or company sold etc....no reason for Zynga to go up..
Well if King has about 300/600 employees (can't remember which it is) then Zynga with say 3000 can surely lose 2,000 of them. I mean that's a lot of dead weight to me, what are they doing or contributing daily? It can't be much.
There was no reason for him to stay, this is insignificant news to me. There's still another 1500 ppl they could lose or rather they don't need!
Well it was just one of those days virtually everything was green...also kind of at a bottom depending what shoe hits next...good or bad.
If Pincus is seriously bored with games, not just screwing with the media, then he should be seriously interested in selling the company!! Hence the timing and possible speculated reason for bringing Mattrick in!!
Who knows, lot of crazy prices thrown around, $14 was put out there already. But if Mattricks job is to right the ship to get ready to be sold then it likely won't reach such lofty heights.
I've heard or read nothing about his possible role in simply getting the company prepped for sale...
Obviously I want to get/maximize my full value here but from a common man's view I'm trying to figure out / understand why nasdaq keeps giving extensions??? Not like we're talking a huge Google or Apple like company, it's a sub $2 stock. So whats the benefit / upside to NASDAQ by continuingly granting extensions?? There must either be value to Ocz or somebody paying somebody otherwise would have figured they'd boot Ocz long ago after extension 10.
