Hi Steve, 51%
A couple more moves like that and you're going to log-ur-rythm(grin) to a 51% stake in AXAS. Will you appoint us to the board? Can we have a couple golf tournaments? Do we get company trucks? Didn't get my brakes done yesterday, I have the solids with the wheel bearings, seals, etc, and they gave me the knock-off rotors, great time for a new one... Just asking, (grin)... Best regards, Ken
Hi Steve: Jinx
That a boy, you slapped the ol' jinx on me... LOL... When I left near lunch, CLGRX had hit 0.97 looking for a buck and GORO zoomed up to $2.40 and I had another screaming sell... But no, I went to my brother - in - laws to put brakes on my Ford Ranger and fix the front sway bar links, plus change the serpentine belt... Came home and GORO fell all the way back to $2.12... Oops! Always next week right? Best regards, Ken
Hi Toof,
Congrats on the sell!!! Silver and gold are ripping it!!! SLW up nearly 8% today... I picked back up some of my CLGRF today right after the open, and raised my portfolio control for the 3rd time and still have a screaming sell with today's move on GORO... Same here up over 7%, I'll sell some of that CLGRF back if we crack the $1 level...
Hi Ocroft, Sell
Well after using 2 Vealies and raising the portfolio control, I took the liberty to sell just a few minutes ago and raise some cash. I too hope to reach that $3.20 soon. With gold at or near 52 week highs there's nothing to hold the price back on either of my gold selections. Glad I socked the cash away today, it was time. Best regards, Ken
Pocket Change Portfolio, Updates #2,
Simple return = +31.28%, ROCAR = 40.09%, Avg at risk is now at 79.28%. Program is now calling for a Sell of 17.05% of my equities. Pulled 2 Vealies already and jacked up the portfolio control twice. Probably do a combo later today and raise a bit of cash. LSG sold out cause it got bought out... KIQ is wallowing around... IGXT is showing signs of life.. GORO is a home run so far... and CLGRF is up too... Looking good for 2016 so far... Profit from your ideas!
$0.91,
Let's see if we can run at buck the time...
$2.12,
I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Ocroft,
If I picked a favorite technical indicator it would probably be the Ultimate Oscillator. Pick 15 or 20 indicators, and you'll get many different views. Rarely ever are they on the same page. Tech analysis works, until it just doesn't work anymore. I like to look at the indicator chart and see how well it matches up with the price chart of the stock, 3 month minimum, sometimes 6 month charts. Are they "in tune" with each other? Best regards, "Mr. Pocket Change"(grin)
Hi Steve, AXAS,
Not profitable yet with oil in the $30's so for now I left it out. Best regards, Ken
Hi Allen,
You're welcome... Best regards, Ken
Hi Big O,
Thanks so much for the Macd work. I don't own LSG anymore, it's getting bought out by TAHO and has kinda topped out. I took that money and bought CLGRF and GORO. By the way GORO pays a dividend, monthly, just got it last week in my account. How crazy is that? KIQ pays a dividend too. Here's the rest of the current list for the "Pocket Change Portfolio" MBNC, FSI, HTM, LIQT, INUV, GSB, ACLS, along with the before mentioned GORO, CLGRF, KIQ, and IGXT.
* These companies are profitable
* No debt, Low debt
* Many are 4 to 10 baggers if at their 52 week highs when screened
* Liquidity can be a challenge, patience is a must getting in or out
* All would be a target for a take over, Buy-out, LSG got bought out!
* Each one can be purchased with mere "pocket change" per share
* Sources? I read the quarterlies, Income, Balance, and Cash Flow sheets on Yahoo Finance, plus any and all info on newswires, and their websites.
Comments welcomed... Tell me what you think...
Best regards... Ken
Hi Tom,
My older brother still races go-karts... they use an older Ford Econoline extended length to haul everything. He raced a couple years back at Michigan International in his kart. Said that track was a smooth as a billiard table. I was going to Illinois today and trade my Ford Ranger for another Ranger with many less miles, and 4WD... But that's on hold now... Hopefully I can get over there by Friday, and it doesn't sell... Bowling alley just called and cancelled our league tonight... Come on Spring!!!
$0.90,
and GORO has cracked through the $2 barrier...
$2.08- Dividend,
$2.08, and dividend at my brokerage account today...
Hi Tom,
Nice ride! I like it! We are in a winter storm warning, got a half foot of snow already. By the way, Pam and I live in a solid brick house(built it in 2001) too, full basement... I wonder how many other AIMERS are in brick houses? Best regards, Ken
Boom Baby!!! $2.03,
Gold up near it's 52 week highs.... Time for GORO to challenge it's 52 week high of $3.65 soon... Keep climbing up those stairs...
Hi Tom, Re: New Car
My wife Pam got her new car Friday, 31st January 1997. Still has it, a 1997 Red Dodge Neon. Runs like a top, she loves it. They're always starving and dealing near the end of the month in January at the dealerships. Congrats on the new car, perfect time to buy. Post a pic of your new baby! Best regards, Ken
Hi Steve, WOW!
Congrats on the 33% 6 day gain, that's fantastic! If ISIS is in Libya like "they" say, and go after the oil, like "they" say, oil could double in price at the snap of fingers. They = news media... Let's play golf when it warms up...Best regards, Ken
Hi Steve, RE: AXAS
Maybe I should look at AXAS for my "Pocket Change Portfolio" Best regards, Ken
Re: Your Relatives,
I like to use the Ultimate Oscillator when looking at a stock. Usually play around with the configuration a bit and try and get it to tell me where we are in the up/down cycle. Stand on the gas just a bit more when buying if it's showing a really low number. That way it's more "relative" to the situation, Grin....
Final 2015 Results,
Traded 2 stocks in calendar year 2015. It wasn't a full year of trading. My mom passed away the end of January 2015, so I had to stop trading until near the end of July 2015, but here's the results. Using my A.T.T.I.C. trading system on WIBC(Wilshire Bank) and RF(Regions Financial) I had a total return of +6.71%. Buy and Hold for these securities was -7.83% for the same periods. There were 61 Buys and 47 Sells during the year. Not bad to make a nearly +7% return on stocks that lost almost 8% during my trading periods 1/2/15 thru 1/26/15 and 7/27/15 thru 12/31/15. Trying a "Pocket Change" approach for this year, so far so good. Profit from your ideas!
Pocket Change Portfolio, Updates
Results have been good so far, since I started this portfolio on 1/26/16. As of 1pm today, Simple return is +18.23%, ROCAR = 24.55%, and Avg at Risk is 74.28%. I've got another sell signal, but haven't pulled the trigger yet today. I've used 2 vealies already and bumped up my portfolio control. Probably take a little cash in a sell and then vealie the rest on this sell. Gold stocks are up, my pharma is wheel spinning and stuck, and my train equipment stock is down. Profit from your ideas!
Hi Allen, PSEC
Nice find, I like it! I almost always use market orders, only $5 for me. I still get my Brownco pricing at E-trade, plus I like to punch'em in the mouth with it, both buy and sell... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom Re:Value Line Dividend Yield,
Thanks, that was a great post. Seems like this new upturn the past week or so is as good as it's been in 6 months or so. Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom,RE: Bond Duration
I retired in August of 2013 and my wife in June of 2012. We take a large stream of income every month since Sept 2013 from 2 of our Vanguard Muni Funds, VWALX, and VWIUX. I thought as time went by I'd adjust our duration(interest rate risk) as warranted with the market conditions. Well after 2 1/2 years I haven't adjusted a thing. Every time you hear rates are going higher, nope, just the opposite happens. Just looked at them and we have a +10.92% capital gain if I sell move the money. Our monthly income has shrunk a bit too as the prices are higher and yields are lower. Vanguard does actively manage and adjusts duration, but I always figured if I got back to zero cap gains, I'd re-evaluate our income stream and adjust our holdings myself. Current yields are 3.62% and 2.86% respectfully, not bad in this world, plus fed tax free too. Ya, it's tempting to take the cap gain, but then its taxed, and there goes the income stream too. Best regards, Ken
Hi Clive, European Banks
I did link this to your gasoline message. Filled up at $1.29 yesterday in Monticello, Indiana. Now.... What's the deal with the European Banks??? All the "big wigs" out saying there's nothing wrong... That's not what the stock prices are saying... Liquidity? About to lock up over there? Also, please keep your negative rates on that side of the Atlantic...(grin) Ooops, the Japanese are negative now too... Looks like we are surrounded over here... I think the big dip in our 10 year treasury going from 2.37% down to under 1.70% is in part the foreign money piling up over here looking for yield, any yield... You're thoughts? Best regards, Ken
Geo,
I'm aiming for the moon! Ever since this negative rate stuff, gold has done a 180 since the December lows
Thirty bucks,
Sweet!!! I'd take that...
Also,
Dollar starting to crack, gold racing higher, negative rates popping up all over the place, which by the way isn't working, 10 year hit 1.53% yesterday before coming back up, I'd say it's getting easier and easier to see it...
Yes it is...
Hey Low,
LSG got bought out, I didn't stick around for the conversion. I rolled that money into GORO and CLGRF. If I see that chart right GORO was north of $20 not but 6 years ago. All this money printing, negative rates junk is collapsing. GORO is on fire. Best regards...
Hey Geo,
LSG got bought out, and I'm not waiting on the conversion either. I rolled that money into GORO and CLGRF. All the printing and negative rates junk isn't working anymore, but this sure is on fire. Best regards...
The Pocket Change Portfolio- Results,
Well I started ""The Pocket Change Portfolio" on 1/26/16. To date as of 2:15pm today results are as follows. Simple return = +10.14 %, ROCAR= 14.27%, and Avg at Risk is 71.05%. Portfolio consisted of LSG, CLGRF, GORO, KIQ, and IGXT. Currently down to 4 stocks now as LSG has a take over offer, and I liquidated that position and rolled it into the GORO and CLGRF positions. So far 6 Buys, 3 Sells, and 2 Vealies. I currently have 11 more "pocket change stocks" on the radar list. Those 11, or some of them, will be added soon. Thought this might take a few weeks and of course it has done just that. Volatility on stocks this small can be insane, plus there's several on the list of 11 yet to come that have liqudity issues, not much volume. I'm kinda doing the 80/20 4th edition model with a Buy Safe of 10%, and a Sell Safe of 0%. Although, I have pulled 2 Vealies already, and bumped up my portfolio control. Profit from your ideas!
Hi Tom, RE: Negative Rates,
I see on the tube that the Japanese 10 year Bond now has a yield of -0.011%. Joining an ever growing list of negative rate bonds around the world. Of course this has lead to fears of another global banking crisis. For the life of me, who's stupid idea was this? Money should not be free to borrow, ever, never. Look at where all this global printing has got us. So if that isn't extreme enough, heck let's go negative. Are you kidding me? Our ten year was at 2.37% not 2 months ago, and it's 1.73% as I type this to you. Overseas money piling over here now driving our rates lower. Also looks like the sub-prime, and "DEEP" sub-prime loans on autos are once again at record levels. JMHO, but I don't think this ends well. Japanese rates go negative, and their market drops nearly 6%. So how's that working for them? It seems like we are all in a race to the bottom with all the printing. If I was a gov't in an emerging country, I'd electronically print it it up too, and shove it right out the door just like we and Europe does. We got married in 1981, home loan rates were 17 1/4 to 17 1/2 percent, flash forward to now and WOW! I can't believe all this has happened. In many ways, I think the higher rate environment was much better... Okay, I'm off my soapbox.. Best regards, Ken
I stepped on out...
Sold out my shares of LSG, I'm not waiting for the conversion.
