Cash and Stock.........
2 sells this morning, 51% Cash and 49% Stock...... Right between the short and long term recomendations... Profit from your ideas!
Re: Kicker..............
The kicker here is Indiana does not tax, either state or local, the interest earned on Treasury Bills.... That's an extra boost to the net yield... Looks like your graph is in proactive range... Best regards...
Idle cash 5.32%.........
I know I've mentioned this before but it's nice to see our idle cash actually spinning off some money again... VUSXX, which I use, is tossing out 5.32% SEC 7 Day yield at the moment... Gone is the 14 years of near zero fake rates... Looks as if the fed might hold static for awhile, but maybe, just maybe, the "free market" will drive rates even higher... Most likely the 10-30 year bonds are really going to crack open, and those rates may go to 6%- 8% as they should be... Refunding amounts look scary coming down the road from the treasury, hopefully the market demands even higher rates still... Best regards to the board as I've been missing in action for awhile....
Re: SNL,
What? No Mr. Bill in it? " Here comes Mr Bill"....
RE: AXAS.....
I wasn't in very long, and that was years ago...
Hi Steve,
Good to hear from you... Looks like OPEC just shot oil prices back up... Are you still with AXAS? Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom, Re: 20
That was a great idea then, and still is today... Looking at Lou as I type this so I hope he's smiling down on all of us... He was a true professional in every way... Great to see you've stuck with the 20 idea all these years, and even adjusted on it a bit to meet real world scenarios... Best regards, Ken
Hi John,
Thanks for the kind words and congratulations on your AIM- ing... Yes, Marty Zweig was my favorite as well... Today's interviews are just agenda pushing, and don't come close to the interviews Louis had back in the day... I too, miss that era... Stated again, when the book went out of print, this board has lost some steam... Best regards, Ken
OT : TWX In 12 Bars (Donald Swartz),
We need a little music around here so look up ,"TWX In 12 Bars (Donald Swartz)". That's from the best half hour show ever about money, stocks, bonds, and Wall Street. I have a autographed picture of Louis Rukeyser and a autographed book sitting here in this room. By far he is my favorite personality of all time for info on the stock market. It's just not the same, and by that I mean "professionalism". Saying that Steve, I see you've noticed the drop off in participation on this board. Well, that didn't happen overnight, but clealy it has dropped way off. My own personal take on it is this happened slowly over time when our favorite little book went out of print. So youtube ---->" PBS's 'Wall $treet Week' with Louis Rukeyser, TWX in 12 Bars" and I'll leave you with this quote from a printed transcript #1627 I own..
" For a printed transcript of this program, send $3.00 to Transcripts, Wall $treet Week, Owings Mills , Maryland 21117. That's $3.00 to Transcripts, Wall $treet Week, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117. Maryland residents please add fifteen cents sales tax. "
Best regards, Ken
Hi Steve,
Just sent my email to you for a copy of that, Thanks, Ken

Hi Tom, RE: 4.24% Idle Cash,
Nice to see idle cash pulling in over 4% to start the year... That's getting to be much more "book" like numbers... Best regards, Ken

Hi Tom, RE: MyStocks DOS Program,
"There was a similar one back in the DOS days called MyStocks"... I'd like to find a link to download the "MyStocks" DOS Program... There seems to be another, much newer, not related program of the same name available for download now... But I wanted the DOS version from 25-30 years ago... Maybe somebody on the board can find it... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the link on your recent commentary! New 52 week low yesterday again, so I stepped up and bought more... FRBK hit $2.07 yesterday so the purchasing department was busy again... Taxes???? Thoughts of booking the loss have quickly gone away here... FRBK has been in a huge "food fight" for control of the bank, but that seems to be settled now... Quarterly reports are now coming in and getting back up to date, and the annual meeting has been set for next month... A hostile offer for up to 45% of the bank was rejected months ago at $3.50 a share... I see a new CEO was just named and put out on media this morning, and the stock is up 10% premarket already... Disclosure forms have been signed lately, which tells me a buy out could come soon... I'd like to book the losses, but it could go up like a rocket at the snap of a finger, then I'd miss all the value of AIM ... Winter Storm Warning here next 2 days, I'm sure the same up there in Wisconsin... Purdue plays LSU in the Citrus Bowl Jan 2nd, are you giving me the Boilers and 56 points? :) Best regards, Ken
Price Update from 10 Months Ago,
I was sitting sweet on Feb 17th of this year, but that was then and this is now... Pocket Change Portfolio Price was $5.54 that day on the close... Been a slow steady walk down the stairs when yesterday closed at $2.14... About a 61% drop over time, so I guess I managed, adjusted, and wiggled with my cash fairly well as I fell down the stairs this year. Sitting at new lows, and the program is buying heavily, as it should... I did get in another large sale back in Feb before we tanked, but that's not noted in the Newport picture I linked this message to... This has been wild for sure and challenging too... Can't remember a year quite like this one ever... "Profit from your ideas!"
Added Cash, New 52 Week Low...
Ran out of cash last week on my last purchase, and didn't have enough to fufill the program buy. Yesterday I hit another new 52 week low and that buy signal grew much larger. So rather than just sit here, I added cash to the account and bought more... With the cash addition and subsequent purchase, I'm now at 88% Stock, 12% Cash... Simple Return -37.54%.... ROCAR is -47.79%... Crazy year! "Profit from your ideas!" Merry Christmas to everyone on the board!
New 52 week low, Update...
Just set a new 52 week low! Simple return -36.36% and ROCAR is -48,58%... Had a rally after Monday to within striking distance of my next sell, but fell back the rest of this week... I'm 100% Stock, and 0% Cash, all in... Seeds are sewed... Program has done it's part and I'd like to see a Santa Claus rally the back half of this month... Technically speaking, I didn't have enough cash today to buy all I needed, but I threw everything I had left at it! "Profit from your ideas!"
Update.............
Had a purchase back on 12/5 which brought me to 98% Stock and 2% Cash... That purchase set yet another 52 week
low to the "Pocket Change Portfolio" this year... Since then in the week that has followed, I've had a +7.45% bounce upwards, but no sales yet. I'm loaded up, per the program, so we'll see where I go from here... Might need to rename this"Couple of Coins in my Pocket Portfolio" soon, :) So currently at Friday's close Simple Return was -28.88%, and ROCAR is -37.01%... Merry Christmas to everyone on the board! Ken
Steven!
Great to see you back! I'm a freebie so I can't answer your private messages. I retired at age 56, congrats on your retirement! I'm 65 now... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom, Re: Don Carlson,
Is Don in this picture? Could you point him out. He and I never got together before his passing away. Don drove right past my exit on I-65 and we were goig to hook up on his next trip south to Florida. I believe he was from the Chicagoland area. Thanks Ken
Hi Tom, RE: VMRXX,
2.07% at yesterday's close... Quickly running up... Can't remember Mr. Lichello's cash holding %?... seemed it was 6% or so, I'd have to look it up... Again, nice to see idle cash coming off 0.01% for 14+ years, which was insanity, fake, and phony... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom, Re: May Sellout,
It was just coincidence... But it sure worked out well... Food fight speculation on FRBK proxy fight seemed to be cooling off, it just seemed like the right time... Now consolidating at a much lower level, seems like any positive announcements going forward should jolt the stock back upwards, especially now the food fight is over for control of the board and bank... Best regards....
Update, Repurchase
Repurchased my entire portfolio back at a 10.22% discount from my May18th sell out... 71 % Stock... 29% Cash... "Profit from your ideas"
Hi Tom, Re: VMRXX,
VMRXX now at 1.99% , yesterday's close... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom, Re: VMFXX,
VMFXX hit 1.84% at last Friday's close... I look for it to top 2.30% by the end of August... Best regards, Ken
Hi Tom, Location...
Looks like that ticket sold in Des Plaines, Illinois was actually closer to you than me geographically... Money market funds now appraoching 2% quickly and that's nice to see that idle cash is moving again... Almost repurchased my last position from May 18th Friday at a much lower price, but looking like another down draft today, so i'll wait for later in the day and take full advantage...
Looks like my double
clicking mouse problem showed up again, so on to a new mouse... Which means I now have mice right? Again, update here, 100% Cash, 0% Stock since May 18th... Nice to see cash, money market interest rates rising again after over 14 years near zero... "Profit from your ideas"
Post 46000
Okay , what did I win? 100% cash since May 18th, just for an update...
