yea I know its disclosed. 10% is a lot, at this rate in 10 years each of our shares will have lost 50% of ownership in the fund, while executives would have doubled theirs.
The company is still issuing shares to their executives valuing them at $.5-$.8 a share.. some awful dillution over the past year.
If Mr Shi was willing to buy around a price like that, wouldnt he already be buying them off the pinksheets?
GHII 10-Q posted.. good #s as usual

Chinese 30-story building built in 15 days
I use to see videos like this about china and think how great their economy will be. After experiencing investing in cgs companies, i wonder how legitimate this construction is. Maybe by design the building can withstand great earthquakes and provide comfortable living, but what type of concern are the workers and inspectors giving during the construction? I have heard stories from people visiting large cities how unfished apartments can seem there, even those of luxury status. door handles unfastened, walls misaligned etc.
CCCL got a bunch @ 2.8 yesterday.. looks like you were the last aboard the train
The chairman just stepped down.. whats goin on

I just got back from this a bit ago, thanks for posting. Was a nice event.. though seemed more promotional for the hosting parties.. not really as much discussion on the current state of Chinese companies as hoped.
Food was great though

Refreshing to hear talk about these managements as if they were real individuals, with both bad and good sides.
OT: Obama's plan to increased GDP by 2%
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-09/obama-job-plan-would-boost-u-s-gdp-by-up-to-2-next-year-economists-say.html
Is this realistic?? 2% is a lot
OT Don't companies like SB lock in their contracts at long term rates? I would think a company like DRYS would have a better reaction to rises in the BDI
Commiting suicide? This makes it sound like chinese citizens were worse affected than americans
VALV just picked some up at 2.15
XING- Trading at 1/3 of (Cash-Liabilities)..
GHII Definitely under priced. The $6M in my post is from the table in their pr, not the paragraph below it. It even lists gross profit as $ 6,068 thousand.
Total costs of project - $ 24,243 Thousand. I guess the additional $2.243M are regular expenses rather than an "investment in the Shuian Renjia projec"
GHII
http://en.prnasia.com/pr/2010/10/22/100979211.shtml
original PR of this project estimated almost $12M in profits..
"The Shuian Renjia project is expected to be completed by May 2011 and requires a total investment of 140 million RMB or about $21 million. The successful completion of this project is expected to yield revenues of 220 million RMB or $32.9 million."
Instead its around $6M... what a huge difference
GHII well see what happens. This June is year end.. so well get a 10-K and full audit. theyve never had much cash on their balance sheet.. I wouldnt be surprised if its the same case again somehow.
China discusses letting SEC investigate chinese companies

News article about Gold Horse from 2009 blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_61dd21b80100fvrp.html about group of women who couldnt get a housing license for a home from Gold Horse? Its definitely the company, the picture at the bottom is of the women sitting on the roof the company's office.
ORS - there arent even options available for it.. at least not with schwab. whats up with that

GHII. Thats unforunate. Wish they showed how much the difference was.
GU- down almost 50% since the 10-Q. It wasnt the best quarter but why so much?
I doubt these types of reports have much human involvement at all.. theyre probably produced using a formula based around the stock metrics. The report mentions no company specific information other than what could be pulled off a p/l statement or balance sheet.
GU raw materials have drastically increased in price since oil prices were at where they are now (and above) in 2008. I think around 2.5x higher from the company reports. Even if oil goes to 150$ a barrel again, unless there is a drop in these costs GU still wont be making nearly as much profit as it used it.
GU - Down 18%.. guess people were really banking on a good quarter... maybe good buying opprotunity now
GU up 20% today on high volume, whats going on?
GHII tight AR/cash as usual. Don't always trust management's statement on future expectations. One of their main projects for 2010 ended up being completed about 3 quarters after their initial completion date. Each financial report they said it was expected to be completed in the next quarter.
Either way I'm still incredibly long the stock. The above issues are bad, but at least give the impression they aren't lying about the existence of their operations etc. You definitely can't evaluate the company on any basis less than 1-2 years of earnings.. one quarter is meaningless.
