let me guess it was for less than 500.
All small holders of H's under 500 should be getting checks from what I hear on the other board.
I had a couple thousand H's So I guess I have to wait until they send those out in a couple of months.
still I think the funds from selling the notes will only cover roughly less than half of the payment due to the piers units.
On a side note in regards to WMIH it looks like most people who wanted to sell shares did and the rest are holding pending news after the new year. Hence the low volume. coupled with people just getting back from the holidays and the low float to begin with.
Its like watching paint dry. lol
I picked up 5k more shares. maybe i got yours lol.
Srill want to pick up more before the M and a activity.
I am super drunk off 4 bottles of wine. fyi... pewace and happy holidays. .. WAMU TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN
glad i got my fills in the 2.47,.48.51 range
finally got like half of my order filled. still waiting on the other half.
I know the trading would be thin cause of christmas.
I plan on maybe adding more down the road as well.
have had an order in since the open. Its like pulling teeth partial fills of 31 shares wtf?
piers are ahead of the p's and k's.
Catz I cannot recall off the top of my head how much would make the Piers units whole.
Was it 200million or so? plus interest.
Can Piers Unit Holders now expect this distribution to be divided evenly among the unit holders. accompanied by a statement from the trust showing what remains to be paid?
Thanks.
I am glad the money is starting to flow. I held a couple thousand piers units so the money although not paid in full is most welcome.
I was also wondering about the tax ramifications. I assume checks will reach Piers holders after the new year. Minus the cost basis of the units would the (gains) be considered taxable as regular income or long or short capital gains.
bought a position here today along with tc and nem.
the miners are beaten to hell. ANV year chart looks disgusting.
I am hoping the metals start to recover. All the best
anyone see that trade at 1.70?
Must have been some poor soul who made a fat finger mistake.
Bought back my position in TC that I had earlier on in the year.
Anyone have any thoughts on what you think the new mine can do for the ROI next year?
started a position here today. anyone else think the bottom is in?
yea that is the thing you never know. Just my experience tells me that on at 50%+ move in any stock no matter what the story you should see a correction at some point.
could it continue to rocket higher sure. But i made a calculated move to take profits now and hope that it pulls back enough so I can rebuy a position for the longer term.
Dont get me wrong I am with you guys all the way and I think over the next 5 years or so the company can do great in terms of using M and A to use the NOLs.
I just think there will be some time. maybe a few weeks...months before the first major step forward is done.
This is all just my opinion of course.
congrats to everyone!
What I am wondering is when the H's will start to see something then we can think about the other escrow stuff.
dont feel bad rocky. I sold out of my position entirely today. Had to take the huge profit staring me in the face.
I think once the news is digested and time drags on it will settle down a bit. Whatever M and A deal will be done will take some time after the new year. Just my opinion of course.
I think it will provide ample time to re-buy a position to ride into the future.
I might be wrong, but I do know now that the BOD is at least doing something to move the company forward.
still here boys and girls. not as many shares but still here. glad to see the board doing something.....
sold out of my position. had to book the nice 10% profit.
I do still think the story is in tact and that over the long term nti will do well. gonna look to see if we go down again after distribution to buy back in.
cheers.
look at the after market action. wow. :)
I am holding as well. I see all the upgrades we are getting its only a matter of time before we go even higher in my opinion. I am willing to let it ride.
we got a bunch of upgrades today and raised price targets. credit suisse has us at 29.00 target.
Just saw the news. they made the deal. Whats great about this is now instead of hedge funds having the controlling stake we now have another larger refiner holding those units.
They must see a good investment here :) just my opinion.
thoughts?
this is super news. We are up in pre- market.
weeeeeeeeeeee
what price do you think it might bottom out at. Hopefully I can pick some up at fresh 52 week lows like last time.
The next Q is going to be huge in my opinion. I would love to position and get my share count back up.
on a side note the distribution is good enough for me to keep waiting and getting paid as things expand. :)
you know when the ex-dividend date is?
thanks. dont get me wrong though. I still hold a core position of shares regardless because I think the long term story of this company is bright. With that said I know sometimes its better to book profits when possible and reduce ones overall risk profile.
I will keep my core position of shares on and add more when the time is right.
All in my opinion of course.
trimmed my position today. took profits on shares i bought at 17,18,19. Had to do it on such a nice up day.
still holding a core position for the coming distributions. It would be nice to see them go on sale again prior to the distributions :)
I really am interested to see what kind of business they will do in the coming Q's :)
all in my humble opinion of course.
Northern Tier Energy Raised to Outperform From Neutral by Credit Suisse >NTI

(END) Dow Jones Newswires

shorts are burnin today. volume looks good as well.
Well since some of the firms just started coverage of NTI. The price targets can move. So lets say they do ok in Q3 and Q4 those price estimates will move up accordingly.
Glad I snagged shares off the bottom. Shorts will have to fully cover in time. I am looking forward to keep on collecting those distributions and watching the price rise as well. cheers
all in my opinion of course.
Northern Tier Energy (NTI) Shares Enter Oversold Territory (FORBES)

thanks. Glad i was able to snag some so close to the 52 week lows.
after reading the new info I am more confident than ever in the management of this company.
They seem to be right on top of things and have the means to continue production. I also like that they are now going to do the work on the cracker early. Seems like a smart move to me.
picking up some more shares here. :) got some at 17.97
funny how you left out most of the report.
"Today at approximately 11:30 am Central Time, our St. Paul Park, MN refinery experienced a fire in one of its crude units that originated at a reduced crude pump. The fire was brought under control and completely extinguished by 2:16 pm Central Time by the refinery's Emergency Response Team and the St. Paul Park and Newport Fire Departments. The refinery has begun to investigate the cause of the fire and is assessing the damage. The Company anticipates providing an update after more information has been gathered.
All personnel have been accounted for and no injuries have been reported"
so lets see a small unit caught fire and was quickly put under control. Report says noting on construction. It also says one of its crude units. hence one of many. Funny how when you leave words out like that.
October is not a "turn around" they have a planned shutdown of a cracker which was disclosed a long time ago. That does not mean the entire refinery shuts down like your post suggest.
The expanded 90,000 barrel a day capacity looks like management knows what its doing.
But I can see the angle of your post trying to leave out information and hope it catches on. I honestly think you will have no effect. The stock will trade on the news and smart people like myself will use it to pick up more shares just like you are planning on doing.......
JUST MY OPINION OF COURSE>........
you guys are crazy. where do you come up with these numbers?
we got a 200million float. to use the nol over time maybe it will hit those values with new business not just on a merger/ speculation
just my opinion. patience is a virtue.
I hope you all saw that. it touched 20.1690 .... lol just a fraction of a cent near yesterdays high. looks like shorty does not want this to move so they got to cover.
A little volume will force the squeeze in my opinion...
Just got a strange letter in the mail today from the liquidating trust.
The cover letter is as follows:
"The liquidating trust is required to form NJ-1041, "New Jersey Fiduciary Income Tax Return" with the state of New Jersey. Additionally, the liquidating trust is required to file Form NJK-1, "beneficiary's or Grantor's Share of Income:, a copy of which has been provided to you herein. This is an informational tax filing only and it contains the same amounts that were provided to you in your grantor letter earlier this year."
"The liquidating trust has no New Jersey sourced income."
The 2nd page is the K-1 form. which displays info like interest earned I assume on the H's. like other H holders have seen in previous letters from the trust.
Might the trust getting its legal ducks in order in terms of tax reporting to all holders in different states in preparation for the reserves finally being released soon and distributions to begin to flow down the waterfall to H holders first?
thoughts? thanks.
it smells like burning shorts today.... ;)
sold a nice chunk at a 26% profit i held since .86
I do hope that a deal happens soon, but I have been a fool way to many times over the years by not taking profits when i should have.
Most of us are married to this company after the years of court battles. I get that.
Everyone must do whats best for them. All in my opinion of course.
I do hope the H's get paid soon. :)
bought a bunch more today. The bear/shorts raid will soon be at an end in my opinion. It makes no sense. If anything the price should be going higher in anticipation of growth.
-they expanded production capacity
-sales at retail locations have only gone up.
-oil in general is on a upward movement.
If anyone cares to list the negatives I would love to hear them as I like to see all sides to a thesis.
