Art Linkletter has nothing on bess. still not sure what the relevance is of interviewing the children of protesters...
the same level of important information could have been extracted by working the children at the inaugural or the easter egg roll. (Gee, tommy, why are you here? OBAMA! what do you think obama is going to do? he is better than spiderman!)
i guess if there is a niche to be filled, there will be bloggers to plug it.
actually, i think the message was to color-coordinate the sign to your shirt, and ignore what it says.
that is some really insightful journalism, working the 9 year-old crowd. maybe when bess grows up, she can get a job interviewing Sasha and Malia about obama's stimulus views. It would be about as relevant as this blog filler.
when are they going to figure out that belittling angry people that feel they have a legitimate beef only makes 'em madder and stiffens their resolve?
this whole teabag thing appears to me to be a mirror image of another time when people took to the streets.
to dismiss it out of hand is an arrogance worthy of marie antoinette.
Remember how the press blasted those of us that marched in the 60's... that were were crazy, out of touch with reality, a bunch of wackos, etc. and the silent majority would crush us?
well, those marches were the first ripples that turned the ocean liner.
And to ignore people taking to the streets all across the nation is a mistake... because by belittling them, the press will likely swell their numbers.
Even the morons at homeland security get the potential problem... they are doing contingency planning for escalation like a bunch of schoolgirls worrying about the boogeyman.
I don't think it is as simple as the very rich "mobilizing their idiotic goons who vote against their own interests".
This one isn't purely partisan. Tea parties attract the usual haters, sure, but to dismiss the whole thing as being about them is like saying that the Weathermen or the Black Panthers represented the whole peace movement of the 60's. They were the radical fringe of a much larger mass.
Which is what i think the racists and anarchists are to the tax revolt movement. There is a dislike of the government that is perceived as out of control, and it does not have a clear shape yet, but it exists. And voting booth changes don't seem to change the decay. So when this movement takes shape, status quo people gloating over the last election would be better served paying attention than belittling.
yes, this is one of the pinks that would be safe to short at .0002 (if you could get anyone to actually buy any at that price)
oh yeah, back up the truck, fill yer boots, buy a new can of snoose... a good trader could have made 20 bucks profit today (minus commissions) and have TOTALLY DOMINATED THE TRADING!
i find it kind of odd that he has not blogged another Pirate Theme Park and Shooting Gallery to be located in Somalia, since he knows no borders.
Since his blogs are not worth any more than the bandwidth they waste, maybe he can explain his listing of himself as an officer of the Nevada Corporation when carrying a cuban citizenship. Which is illegal. But probably no longer prosecutable, given the present changes occurring with cuban status. However, the fraudulent activity committed by him will not be swept away with the opening of cuba. We can only hope that an extradition treaty accompanies the travel rules.
i must have missed a press release then. he is claiming earnings?
oh really. and just what are the "earnings" that you claim derived from? and what are they, if pedro reported any lately i must have kind of missed it. and ROFL to the max at "earnings"... he does nothing, has nothing, and no one can prove that he does. But you are correct in your assessment that it is a debacle.
first reports are that one pirate was on the Bainbridge doing negotiations when capt. phillips dove overboard from the lifeboat... the pirates were setting up to shoot at phillips when the navy personnel opened up on the remaining 3 pirates and blew them away. the pirate that was on the Bainbridge remains in custody.
American captain rescued, pirates killed, U.S. official says
http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/africa/04/12/somalia.pirates/index.html?eref=rss_topstories
on first blush, yeah, had the gunners on the destroyer seen clearly that the captain had jumped overboard and been clear of the lifeboat, it would be sort of gratifying, in a John Wayne sort of style, to see the remaining pirates be turned into pink sea foam.
But they couldn't react quick enough, and there is another problem.
So far, the pirates have not been in the business of actually killing people, specifically americans. If we ratchet it up by beginning to smoke them, particularly since they now have another group of americans on a tugboat, then it almost guarantees an escalation in the killing.
I think that we need to proceed as we are doing until all of our hostages are freed, one way or another, then keep a presence there, and THEN begin making pirates into dead pirates. Thomas Jefferson's navy was able to quash high seas piracy, i bet a concerted effort that even the french agree with can stop the activity when they realize that it won't work any more. gonna mean some little boats are going to get sent to the bottom, but good riddance.
you missed the jatropha plantations,
the ostrich farm,
the carbon credits,
the gold and supposed ownership of gold mines,
the corbici recreational development,
the "land" dividend,
the unification of Pan America,
the alternative fuel plan using jatropha oil,
the cold-calling center in costa rica,
the request for investors to send in their passport numbers,
the "pedro as war hero" line of false credentials,
the gold PDRs...
and i am sure that most on here can think of more.... this is such a scam that it defies comprehension.
well, here is another investment option. sell 20,000,000 shares (net proceeds $2000 minus brokerage fees)
use the money to buy a horse.
shoot the horse.
Make "America I" tacos and franchise them under the Pedro banner. hope that the trade embargo is lifted with cuba before the meat goes bad.
This is a much more robust business model than anything done via press release from PNMS for as long as i can remember.
The buck stops with the top executive. But we all know how little executive experience Barack Obama has had. He was elected for his vision and his steady, deliberative character, not his résumé. For better or worse, Obama is learning as he goes -- and surely most fair-minded people would grant him reasonable leeway as he grows into the presidency, one of the hardest jobs in the world.
At a certain point, however, Obama will face an inescapable administrative crux. Arriving at the White House, he understandably stayed in his comfort zone by bringing old friends and allies with him -- a team that had had a fabulous success in devising the hard-as-nails strategy that toppled the Clintons, like crumbling colossi, into yesterday's news. But these comrades may not have the practical skills or broad perspective to help Obama govern. Like Shakespeare's Prince Hal ascending the throne, Obama may have to steel his heart and banish Falstaff and the whole frat-house crew.
Obama's staffing problems are blatant -- from that bleating boy of a treasury secretary to what appears to be a total vacuum where a chief of protocol should be. There has been one needless gaffe after another -- from the president's tacky appearance on a late-night comedy show to the kitsch gifts given to the British prime minister, followed by the sweater-clad first lady's over-familiarity with the queen and culminating in the jaw-dropping spectacle of a president of the United States bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia. Why was protest about the latter indignity confined to conservatives? The silence of the major media was a disgrace. But I attribute that embarrassing incident not to Obama's sinister or naive appeasement of the Muslim world but to a simple if costly breakdown in basic command of protocol.

are tourists going to buy shares of a shell when they visit?
well good. maybe when pedro gets indicted he won't be able to hide in cuba.
with any luck, if the embargo against cuba is lifted, part of the deal will be an extradition treaty. which pedro ought to pay attention to, as he registered as an officer for an american corporation from nevada, which in and of itself is presently illegal, when he apparently carries a dual citizenship that includes cuba.
it was mostly just some low-level grumbling about obama playing to the european crowd a little too much. It had almost a campaign speech feel to it. But on the other hand, there are a lot of fences to mend, so i think he needs a bit of latitude. Trying to stir them to send more troops to afganistan, etc. is kind of a mixed message when accompanied by nuclear stockpile reductions pleas with lectures about having the moral authority should we do so, in my opinion.
it wasn't "my report" and i didn't pay close enough attention to the source. i confused the two, and admitted it. i did read on the yahoo news though that the number of entourage, etc. was correct, though, if they are credible.
the rest of the stuff in my last post was my opinion and not from a news source of any type.
well, the fact that bush did a whole spectrum of stupid, ill-advised, wasteful, corrupt, destructive, and costly things to us and the world in no way should be used as a rationalization for obama doing the same.
Diverting military transports in active use of moving the logistical support for his troop surge in afganistan at the level he is doing is a choice that HE made. I understand the need for a couple hundred secret service and his beast-mobile, but good grief, flying multiple helicopters over for decoys in super sized transports is almost goofy. wouldn't two decoys be enough? and 300 staff over and above the security detail is getting to be quite a posse.
At least his styrofoam column-makers didn't go this time. And the germans have come to expect him to supply free beer and sausages like he did last summer...
I didn't like his criticism of the U.S., even if it is somewhat warranted. Disparaging your own team is kind of a indicator of weakness in most diplomatic circles. I understand why he did it, to try and level the field and mitigate the damage done by the last cretin in that office, but his choice of words was very poor. He could have made the point without directly putting down the people he leads.
It wasn't the ordinary american that did the crazy stuff the last 8 years which was mostly Cheney/Bush-inspired looting of the world's economy. Ingratiating himself to the europeans at the expense of his citizens is not a wise use of obama's political capital. He is going to need it to wrestle with wall street, the bankers, and the medical/pharmaceutical complex.
but i didn't catch the distinction between the two, in all honesty. that is why i was so puzzled at the nasty, uncivil reply i got.
so do you believe the information to not be factual in terms of the logistics being employed to move "44"'s inflated posse?
could you explain the nebulous link between the Moonies and the washington post article i posted? Must be something that only you know about, or else i have stumbled into a cult that speaks its own language? the washington post is referred to as "shit-for-brains"? not tracking with whatever point you were attempting to make....
wise use of resources?
the european trip has gone crazy with excess.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/apr/02/inside-the-ring-89874599/
fair enough. but the fact that pedro got burned twice with the same ruse.. an insufficient funds check drawn from B of A... doesn't say much about his learning curve to me in regards to his business acumen.
My friend Grupo PANAMERSA is far beyond the comprehension of many that can not see the future
Pedro's problem is still that people can clearly see the PAST. Which is anathema to anyone trying to pull a fast one. EBIZ has what to do with the future of PNMS?
(this is not directed at you, midas, but at the fog factor from pedro that is being put out. I thought he was working to do something to move the company forward... on that, he is silent, all he is jabbering about is one of his past screw-ups)
We have peeps here getting the FBI and who knows who else and yet Pedro is still here. Why?
Well, blogging from cuba sort of puts him out of reach of the FBI, don't ya think? "Here" is a bit relative. When was the last time pedro set foot in the U.S. as part of his Nevada-based corporation?
you are diverting from giving any reason why a rebound could occur from pedro... your personal return of some shares from the PDR sideshow still says nothing about what good or service that pedro is actually working on to create some sort of commerce via PNMS. Turning it into a personal attack and questioning my tenure on IHUB isn't relevant to the future of PNMS which is the real question.
What substance is being posted about the "company" other than the forensics of the fraud? The only thing that could remotely be perceived as a positive act was pedro forcing MT to return a few shares to you, which has many possible interpretations. None of which are likely of material interest to the conduct of any actual business by PNMS.
Attacking me personally isn't going to make your shares worth any more. Maybe it will merit a mention of my screen name in pedro's next blog... whoop-ti-do.
you aren't reading them closely enough then.
Your posts, except for a very, very few seem to defend MT and put all the blame on Pedro.
Not even close to reality. MT is clearly a con man, but suddenly there is this upwelling of "poor, poor pedro" being a misunderstood altruistic person, and i do not buy into that for a single minute. That is why his rehabilitation is being controverted.
okay, let's try this scenario out...
I can't even comprehend why Pedro would work so hard for poor little me and my insignificant 650,000 shares
well, you are a trustworthy and steady poster on here. if pedro shakes loose 650,000 shares at negligible cost to him, he stands a fair chance to re-inflate the few remaining faithful investors, who see his move as a positive act. An inexpensive gamble to try to swing sentiment on this board. It is clear that PNMS/Pedro was living and dying by this board, i mean, come on, he was naming nicknames from this board in his blogs during his crazy rants that were meant to serve as pseudo-PR's. Yes, he didn't have to do that, but it didn't cost him more than lunch money and it was a reasonable gamble for him to set a scenario where some more paper could be moved should the sentiment be swayed.
I am not stating it as fact, but it is just as plausible as many of the other scenarios i have read on here. Once a person accepts the notion that Pedro is a crook, it makes many of the pieces of the puzzle fit better.
Like the idea he had dual citizenship including cuba as one of the countries yet was a registered officer of the company in the nevada incorporation registration. (which is a bit of a no-no) every rock that one turns over has some foul odor underneath it, and it knows no borders; the idea that pedro is clean just defies believability to linear logic.
well, not quite. you parsed the phrasing incorrectly. the board isn't what would be rehabilitated by the distancing of pedro from MT, it would be pedro's "reputation" that is trying to be rehabilitated by some on here.
He is not clean in this mess, as some seem to assert, which is usually followed by some testimonial that he deserves another chance to make the company go since it was the naughty MT that scammed us, not pedro.
To which one only needs to follow the trajectory of pedro's behavior through the blogs and emails to see that he has been very disingenious in trying to deceive and deflect and distance himself from the salad days of he and MT. Very few are fooled, but some remain.
If pointing out the facts to people makes them leave the board, then good, no more people will be fleeced.
and pedro never thought to even question the unbelievably high returns were being promised for holding PDR's?
and people think he is capable of running an actual company? he can't even supervise a scam operation in a believable way.
a person has to suspend your sense of disbelief to think that he was an innocent rube in this. Like the piles of lies from his blogs. No one held a gun to his head to make him state the wild claims that issued forth almost weekly.
and his business of trying to infer that he has something to do with the lifting of the embargo on cuba is absolutely laughable. it may be lifted, but not due to anyting pedro is doing. i hope we get an extradition treaty to go with the embargo lifting. then pedro might think twice.
this attempted chatboard rehabilitation of pedro by trying to cause separation between MT and him is pretty thin. One doesn't have to dig very deep into their history to see that they are birds of a feather. They were outed so many times on this board for their inane antics (remember the ads for the call center cold-calling operation out of costa rica?) that pedro is about as believable as a mexican pretending he doesn't speak English when confronted by a creditor.
i respect your opinion and your situation here, but when you consider that Pedro appointed himself CEO, etc... and if, during that period he couldn't figure out what happened, which stretches the imagination, then at the very least he was complicit in it by failing to take actions at that time.
and that is giving him the benefit of the doubt.
which means that either he is a total bumbling idiot as a CEO, for his inability to grasp what had and was transpiring, or is a thief and complicit in the fraud, which virtually all evidence points to. I mean, come on, how many of his press releases and blogs were flat out fantasy and lies? in retrospect, all of them. sorry, but convincing anyone that he might be somehow innocent by virtue of benign neglect in this will take a few more grains of salt for anyone to digest.
why are you deflecting away from the fact that pedro is a total crook also? have YOU alerted the authorities to their fraud or are you comfortable with both of their actions?
no, not at all. they are both clearly crooks, and holding out the bait to new investors that somehow pedro might suddenly go straight and start a real business is a pipedream, based upon all available evidence of their past history with PYPR/PNMS and the phony exchange... and that needs to be made clear to anyone wandering in.
If he actually ever did accomplish anything, THAT would be the time to bring out the hope banners. Until then, it is false hope and assists the scammers when people fluff up hollow information and post it as somehow there is something brewing that is real. There is no evidence that there is.
Pedro has had several opportunities to do good (remember when he was President/CEO?) and never did a single thing that helped the shareholders. Not one thing.
How convenient that you forget that fact.
the Pineapple has had several opportunities to do good (remember when he was CEO?) and never did a single thing that helped the shareholders. Not one thing.
How convenient that you forget that fact.
okay, i'll bite. what has he done for the company to raise shareholder value other than write blogs that are essentially the diary of a madman?
Pedro is the only one that has done anything for this company in the last few years.
Like what? (that is verifiable, not the bizarre blog chest-pounding) he spends shareholder money going to cuba and doing nothing other than writing fantasies as far as we can tell... how is he different from MT? other than he still has your confidence? (and your money)
i tend to agree with that. there is just as much evidence that his plan was to use PNMS as a money-laundering scheme as there was that he was ever going to actually ever produce any good or service.
perhaps on his next visit to Hobbit land (his fantasy version is America III) he will get gunned down by a rival cartel group. People that live as he does eventually get their just desserts.
