Depression in the US=NO . Middle east=Yes. Depressions will happen when you have an economy based on one industry and that industry crashes. Detroit is a prime example. That is not going to happen here. The middle east, excluding Israel, is toast, the end game is coming for oil based economies. Revolutions have already started, this is just the beginning
Nice chart , very high correlation.
China will be the new Japan soon enough, once the real estate bubble crashes and their demographics turn in the middle of this decaade. I'm not sure how many on this board actually have been to China, this board sounds like a rah rah board of China. Go there visit it and talk to ACTUAL bosses, you will not like what you hear. A lot of bosses in that country are under pressure to hype and lie, seriously there are some delusional people on IHUB who think China is the game changer. Ummm, no it isn't. They're in trouble and they know it.
I'll go beyond that, fundamentals hardly matter. If the chart and fundamentals don't agree, believe the TA. A very wise TA guy on IHUB who has passed away used to say this for over a decade.
I stand corrected, however the supply has kept up with it. The main point it's silly to make an assinine statement like silver will never see the 20's when it's only a few dollars away
"when its uses are exploding" Industrial demand has decreased for Silver. Nice try
LMAO, it's nice to dream. Silver will easily see teens this decade
Operation Silver Slam is code for "Silver bubble crashing".
No, the difference is I can back up my opinion, you can't. Don't bother sending me private messages and blocking me at the same time, coward
"Possibly Best basketball player of all time" - LOL, Lejoke will never be comparable to MJ,Magic,Wilt,Kareem, and maybe even Bird. Heck, he wasn't even the best player this season. He has to first get pass Kobe on the all time list and that isn't going to happen with his list of endless choke jobs, seriously watch some basketball.
The Silver crash was the beginning of a bear market IMO, as typical with most crashes. Silver is not a buy even 30 IMO - not with that ugly red stick on the weekly. I would be careful going long on Silver for the next 4 months. Keep in mind there is a gap in the upper 40's that will probably get filled. However, there is probably a gap somewhere in the teens or 20's also- at least I thought there was.
Two of the worst defenders in the NBA= Amare + Melo
The Knicks have no chance of winning anything with the likes of these 2, I look for the Knicks to get knocked out early should they get in the playoffs. There will be no upset here folks.
On the header, it's an insult to have Kobe and MJ's faces merged. Kobe isn't in the same realm, only the fools in LA think he is. The stats clearly show MJ has far superior talent and MJ didn't even play with a real center and still destroys him statisically. MJ will never be duplicated , more than likely he is 1 in million athlete.
LOL He must be like 10 year old?
OT A healthy Celtic team would crush the Lakers again. Lakers are not good, they are soft and play zero defense. They would be the 3rd best team in the east. The western conference in general doesn't play defense and has far less physicality. That is one of the reasons why Kobe is one of the more overrated players in sports history. The Blazers, if Oden can stay healthy, will be the team of the future in the west.
The Lakers and the western conference are garbage
OT A great betting trade.. Lakers over Houston giving 10 points
tonight. Lakers in 6 over Houston
Lakers should never be favorites over the best defensive team in the NBA. Cavs over Lakers in 5.
OT: DEFENSE wins championships, take a wild guess who has the best D? Sure as heck aint the Lakers and the rest of the creampuff west conference, though if Houston was fully healthy they would have a chance. Portland is the team of the future in the west, Kobe isn't ever going to lead a team to a ring.
OT: Kobe is hardly mentally tough. He cannot win a ring without a real center. Kobe will be one of the most overrated players of all time.
Looks closer to the 68-70 period with A 82%
The 30-32 period is at 91%.
6930 dow looks like the bottom to me
GM and F are going to be decent buys after they come out of their "soon to be" bankruptcies.
Hi, do you still trade the 3day - 9day crossover method? Does it still work
A depression will occur in a country that is dependent on
one industry for their existence and isn't free enterprise (Kinda sounds like the middle east region). The US economy is well diversified.I seriously doubt there will be one in the US for the next 50 years.
Japan was very late in easing rates, not to mention they
had poor demographics. The US is not Japan
Wrong, all you have to do is take a look at a neutral playing field.Indians run circles around the Chinese, not to mention India is a democracy. Indians are a little better at spending too. It is only a matter of time when India passes China in GDP, probably within 30 years.
Why do you constantly overrate/overstate China's economy?
They are not a REAL consumer economy. Chinese like to save money, not spend.I doubt you have been to China.
You would have more credibility if you pimped India.Indians are far better businessman than the Chinese, take a look
around the country.
What we have done with earlier bailouts is made loans to failing companies -- and have lost money because they were in such a bad position that even the infusion of capital wasn't enough to stop the bleeding. This bailout is fundamentally different: the government is acquiring an ownership interest in these failing institutions. The theory is that the government has more staying power than the banks would even with a loan to survive this crisis because the government has much greater financial resources to do this
You are correct that the bailout transfers wealth to insolvent institutions, but miss the point that it is intended to keep those institutions solvent until the market recovers and the value of the bad paper increases to the point where it can be sold. This is a long-term proposition because it presupposes recovery in the housing market, which will surely take close to a decade. But that is the point.
Where is source for the 87%????
It is a fact..I work for EDS.
OT I've been saying the 3 best teams are in the west. I don't think Boston or Detroit are going to beat Cleveland regardless of the time off. They appear to be the most physical team in the east.I might take Cleveland over Utah and we all know Utah is not going to the finals. The geriatric Pistons and Celtics have .001 % chance of winning the title.
1. SA
2.LA
3. NO
One hundred miles down
4. The rest of the teams
OT Regular season doesn't mean much when you play in a horrible conference. It all goes out the window in the playoffs. SA is the best defense in the west which trumps the east by 100 hundred miles. The only team Detroit will beat is Orlando and that is because Orlando is soft. You are seriously overrating the 2nd worst team in the playoffs. The Spurs and Lakers would beat Detroit in 5 or 6. NO over Detroit in 6 if Detroit is lucky.
OT I would love to wager some money against you on that. The east has no chance.Who exactly plays in the horrible east? Detroit is the 3rd best team in the horrible east. Lakers in 6 over Utah and SA will advance. I will take 3 teams in the west over any in the east. SA,LA, and NO all are the top 3 team IMO. Historically , Utah OWNS Detroit.
The Lakers were able to reload because there was no salary cap. Regardless, those were Hall of fame players and the Pistons have maybe 1 HOF'er -Sheed. The Lakers of today seemed to have re-loaded.
Deron always had an outside jumper. Stuckey does not. Deron was in Sloan's dog house in his rookie year. Stuckey needs to improve his jumper in the summer. I don't think he will ever scare the opponents with his outside shot,he is basically a poor man's Wade IMO.
Had they drafted Bosh instead of Darko, this would be a non issue and they would be close to a championship. They need a young stud player and preferably a tall, long, athletic big man. Amir Johnson is not going to be that good. I would have gladly traded Amir and Stuckey for Gasol and I think Memphis would have taken it.
All the local talk shows will blame itr on Flip when the Pistons fail. Those guys are the worst at analyzing the Pistons - 1130 and 1270 AM
OT What difference does it make whether they make the 6th straight conference finals, they are still not going to win it. Pistons are OLD and SLOW.There best players are overrated and on the wrong side of 30. Clearly on the decline, I'm the only one on this site to notice this 3 years ago.Apparently, Joe D never did. They are clearly going to be a lottery team in 2 years if he does not get a young star talent. He messed up on Darko by by not taking Melo ? Try Wade who is 10x better than any Piston. Bosh is better than any Piston too.
I'm not saying he's bad ,in fact he is pretty good. That doesn't mean he isn't overrated either. In looking at the overall picture, he has a very bad drafting history. Stuckey "the next Deron" -LOL. He can't hit a jumper to save his life. He will be a good player, however Deron was taken before the best PG in that draft and probably the world- Chris Paul.
Comparing him to the likes of Isiah -the worst of all time - does not help your argument. Almost all those guys you listed are clowns who used their clout to snowball clueless owners. Dumars hasn't recognized the art of selling high-- guys like RIP,Billups,Sheed all are toast. Gasol to the Grizzlies needs to be investigated as that was one of the worst trades I've seen. Jerry West is still the GM for the Lakers. The Bulls offered much more during the offseason and many teams complained they never got a call.
The Pistons are not going to beat either Boston or Cleveland.
The Pistons are overrated (esp in Detroit),old, slow, and have journeyman throughout their roster. The Pistons should have rebuilt 3 years ago after losing against SA three years ago. Dumars is an overrated GM who is clearly not bright enough to rebuild, especially given the fact that they have been trending down for a long time.
SA will still beat NO, anyone who thinks NO will win the series is on crack. Duncan is the best big man in the game. Guess who wins championships? Pretty simple.... big men. Both teams are tougher than the Lakers , who have played jokers in the playoffs
Rest in peace Zeev ,you did more for IHUB than any one poster
Marty is one of the most overrated coaches of all time in any sport. His team's always choke in the playoffs from Cleveland to KC to SD. I might move up Travis Henry to the top 5 as he will carry the rock a ton and Denver is a goldmine for rb's.
1. LT Hands down the #1 player in FF and NFL history IMO. I have a feeling he will not end the year #1. Always seems to disappear in FF playoffs
2. Steven Jackson - May end the year #1.
3. Frank Gore - Will give the top 2 a run for the money if he stays healthy.
4. Westbrook
5. LJ - Questionable pick , he had a ton of carries last year and his offensive line is horrendous.
Yes, I think Detroit is overrated. Cleveland took them to 7 last year when they actually had a real player (Ben Wallace) at center. Chris(tina) Webber is garbage -absolute joke. Flip Saunders never wins championships
