I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but this makes me wonder. Maybe it's only because I am on the wrong side of the trade. The fact that the "revision" was released 5 minutes before the close makes it look suspicious. The markets will tell the tale. If the market follows through today, I'll admit it was an honest mistake. If the market sells off as the day goes on, I'll hop on the conspiricy bandwagon.

Did the Fed inadvertently omit part of their statement or decide to add to it when they saw the negative reaction to their original?

Thanks AD, my reason for selling was the crossover of the 50 day SMA below the 200 day SMA at the close Friday for both NDX and QQQQ. The last time this happened was last July which preceded a nasty decline to the August lows. I'll be looking for entry on the short side soon.

DCLK to be acquired by private equity firm Hellman & Friedman for $1.1 billion in cash or 8.50 per share. Deal is expected to be closed sometime in 3rd quarter. Hopefully that means after July 29 so I can get long term gain treatment on both purchases.

Not that soon after the big drop just seen, it should take some time but when that talk happens, begin to look for the exits.

Best day I have had in a long time. COMP up nearly 50 and DOW up 200. Maybe the momo has shifted back up for awhile. Things can change quickly, many posts at this time last week were warning of a crash.
