You are falling back into your Yahoo persona with the last point, McLaren. As you previously pointed out, LaSalle had assets in excess of its liabilities and the preferred shares ended up getting a pretty good distribution. We just didn't have the resources to hire an expert to unravel the mess the management had made of the books.
The one good decision the judge made was to send the case back to Bermuda for wind up, after which the so-called management of TWK was not able to divert any more funds from LaSalle.
Don't disagree with anything you say, but have you been back to the Yahoo board in the last year or two? He really is lurking there acting like Subzero.
Re: Mclaren - resident troll on the Yahoo board. It was the high point of his entire life, and he still monitors the board, carrying on coversations with spambots under the name Donedoodit.
I started getting live quotes through Ameritrade on all my pinkies last week. I don't usually watch L2, but I assumed it was the same data.
I still had a few thousand shares of LSRAF when they announced the dividend. I sold most of them at that point for a slight discount because I was not completely confident that the distribution would make it from Bermuda to my Ameritrade account. I kept 100 shares to see what would happen, and they did in fact distribute the dividend. The shares are still quoted at around 23 cents, but they are apparently very difficult to buy.
To be clear, I am not reinvesting. I am curious enough that I didn't sell the whole TWK stash for a nickel, but I don't see it as a sound investment and I don't have time to track it for pennies.
I had written it off for dead and was happy to sell half last week.
Are you able to determine whether there is buying interest beyond what has been generated by this board?
32K actually at .05. 18K got snagged yesterday at the old price.
Congratulations, you guys are starting to impress me.
I sold half at .05.
Canceled about 15 minutes ago.
50,000 shares only costs $700 at that price. I am not interested in paying a commission to sell $98 worth of stock to the 7,000 share bidder. I wanted to find out whether there are any bidders who are playing with real money. My conclusion at this time is no. We will see how it develops.
FYI, I was offering 50,000 shares AON at .014 for most of the afternoon and got no takers. I don't think the buying interest runs very deep, but who knows.
The preferred shares were offered at .35 today. Don't know if they traded.
LSRAF.
They certainly do keep it close to the vest in Bermuda.
But as far as I know, LaSalle shareholders are still in line ahead of the common for another $30 or $40 million dollars. LaSalle shares are offered for 35 cents right now.
Maybe some of these contingent assets are in a position to bypass LaSalle, I haven't checked.
Ouch, I sure hate to hear stuff like that. Just like the old days.
Just a bunch of people who did a lot of research and tried to figure out what was going on. The board still exists, although I don't have a link handy. It is still inhabited by a troll who checks multiple times a day to see if any of us show up so he can make fun of us.
Nope - probably should have but just watching.
I am pretty familiar with the background. I felt bad about the people who lost money on Trenwick the first time around because they misinterpreted what I and the other folks on the Yahoo board said. I wish everybody the best, but definitely do not take anything I say or do as an endorsement of investing in Trenwick.
Thanks for the link. I was on a newer computer last night and I don't have the old bookmarks or links.
Don't take any comfort from me. I do not know of any fundamental value in this stock at all. Unless I can find out something I will probably sell at the bid within the next day or two. So that's 100,000 shares if anybody wants them.
Hey Lugs! I'll try to join too.
Howdy and best of luck - I have no information but I guess I will have to look into it if somebody is willing to pay upwards of a penny a share. My last 100 LSRAF shares are not moving up, so I don't expect anything coming down the pipe.
Holy crap, Jester, somebody is actually bidding for this?
I bought 100,000 shares after it dies at .0000something just so I could say I owned a hundred thousand shares of something once.
Any of the old gang posting on anywhere else?
