I agree, lower we go IMHO.
Price target was determined using a rather complex computer data modeling program running on a cluster of supercomputers in the Fredman computing center. ;oD
Both charts and fundamentals point to the same conclusion and the dividend cut and ratings downgrades does not help matters IMHO.
My target for DOW is ~ $5.00 to $6.00 if not lower.
I agree, dissapointing indeed. Mr. Young is up to his ears in debt. Just remember though, if there are no buyers, the Chapter 11 could morph into a Chapter 7 similar to what happened with Circuit City IMHO. I am staying out of YBTVA until the smoke clears. GLTYA

Dimension Films Develops an Untitled Teen Social Networking Thriller
Dimension Films is developing an untitled thriller based on an original idea from actress Sara Rue ("Less Than Perfect") and producing partner Robert Green ("Spaced"). Rue and Green will produce and T.S. Faull ("Butterfly: A Grimm Love Story") will write the script. The announcement was made today by Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company (TWC).
While the specifics of the storyline are being kept under close wraps, the story is a high school thriller in the vein of Ten Little Indians that involves a teen social networking site.
"Online social networking is a widespread phenomenon that interests me greatly," said Weinstein. "Combining it with a suspense thriller is a new and fresh way to explore this new trend."
"Sara and I are elated to be launching our new company with this project,"' said Green. "We are even more thrilled to be working with a company that understands the teen horror/thriller genre better than any other. Their passion and track record made getting into business with them a no brainer."
"Social networking is alluring but one always takes a risk when engaging on these sites," said Faull. "Online identities can be deceptive and the script will center on a social networking situation with truly dangerous consequences. I look forward to working with Dimension and the producers on bringing this story and its teen characters to life on the big screen."
Rue is represented by APA, manager Alan David and attorneys Nelson Davis LLP. Green is represented by Rosen Feig Golland & Lunn LLP. T.S. Faull is represented by Adam Goldworm of Industry Entertainment and attorney Harris Hartmen of Sloan, Offer, Weber and Dern LLP. Goldworm will also co-produce.

Mix Up Kanye West, Beastie Boys, Run-DMC Tracks on “Scratch: The Ultimate DJ”
Hip-hop-loving gamers who have looked on enviously as their rocker peers enjoyed Rock Band and Guitar Hero will soon get a game that fulfills their own music-making fantasies. This summer, Genius Products and Genco Interactive will release Scratch: The Ultimate DJ, a music-based video game made with hip-hop fans and wanna-be disc jockeys in mind.
To add credibility to their product, the companies recruited rap industry vet Quincy Jones III to help develop it. “Having been in music for 25 years and produced for like LL Cool J and Tupac and Ice Cube and all those guys, I thought there was a huge void in the gaming market place for something in the urban space,” Quincy Jones III, or QD3, told Rock Daily just days after debuting his company’s Lil Wayne documentary at Sundance. The gameplay will be similar to other major music titles, but players will be working on a turntable controller and drum pad.
Just like in real life, the DJ in Scratch has one job: Get people on the dance floor. The more feet on the floor, the more points you score and the more gigs you unlock. “You might start doing a block party. You have other venues and they’re all really unique venues that have amazing graphics,” QD3 says.
Of course a music-based game is only as good as its soundtrack, so Jones and his team at Genius grabbed tracks from Run-DMC, Eric B & Rakim, Kanye West and Gorillaz for the game’s playlist. They even managed to get some new music from the Beastie Boys’ in-house DJ Mix Master Mike. “We wanted to try to represent all the categories — as many as possible — and have a game that’s super credible to the core audience. But also appealing all the way up to the parents,” Jones said. “We licensed the multi-track. You can take any element you want — the bass line, the scratch, in some cases vocals — even different parts of the harmony of the vocals and the drums… whatever you want. They are all on the beat pad or the turntable and you can manipulate them on your own.”
Whereas countless hours playing Rock Band won’t make you a better guitarist, QD3 pledges, “If you learn how to play this game, then you can do the real deal.” That’s probably because Scratch has some of the biggest DJ equipment makers, including Numark, building the game’s controller and drum pad. “The hardware is basically the controller and you have hyper-realistic turntables, it comes with a fader; you can do transformer cuts and regular scratches and all that. It simulates the real thing exactly — digitally,” Jones says. “If you learn how to scratch on this, it’s the exact replica of the real thing. You’re essentially buying a little studio.” The game will also feature a two-player mode in which dual DJs can play simultaneously with or against each other.
Just as Rock Band competes against Guitar Hero, Scratch will soon be confronted by DJ Hero. “I don’t have a whole lot of detail about what they’re doing. But I do know that ours is going to be a very authentic experience,” QD3 tells Rock Daily. “That’s one of the reasons I got involved; it’s that we give you the closest thing to the actual experience. I would say, as a hip-hop fan, I think people are gonna be surprised at the level of authenticity.”

Swamp Devil (Maneater Series) surfaces on DVD April 7th from the Sci-Fi Channel and Genius Products.
The southern bogs are among the most amazing of all the habitats on Earth, a mile-wide slow-moving river of grass and decay, home to an amazing array of wildlife. Some wilder than others. Responding to a call that her estranged father, Howard, is dying, Melanie Blaime returns home to the nearly deserted small southern town of Gibbington. Once there, her friend, Jimmy Fuller, comes clean with the truth: Melanie's father is not dying but rather on the run and in hiding from charges that he murdered a teenage girl in the swamps - the latest in a string of grisly slayings. But when the sheriff is attacked and killed, it is clear that the culprit is someone, or something else. And there's something funny about that swamp... If a foul vine-choked mass of mud and earth rises from a swamp and no one's around to hear it, does it make a sound? "Swamp Devil" will let you know.

I almost jumped in last summer, boy am I glad I decided to wait. I wonder if GE will go bankrupt? I remember when GM was $12 and at the time many thought it was undervalued. Glad I decided to wait on that too!
Since the general consensus is $8, I hereby lower my estimate to $6 for GE.
Wal-Mart, Target sell Zack and Miri sans ‘porno’
Family-friendly packaging offered to larger retailers
Wal-Mart and Target are using family-friendly packaging for The Weinstein Co. and Genius Products’ Feb. 3 release Zack and Miri Make a Porno, with DVD and Blu-ray Disc boxes at those retailers using the title minus the naughty reference.
The artwork for the more conservatively packaged Zack and Miri edition and the version stamped with the film’s original title, as sold at Best Buy and Amazon.com, among others, is exactly the same. The only real difference is the absence of the word “porno” on the copies offered at Wal-Mart and Target.
Wal-Mart chose to sell the stripped down Zack and Miri edition when given the option by the film’s distributor, said chain spokeswoman Melissa O’Brien. Producer TWC is selling the title through Genius.
“We have taken the other titled DVD the studio decided to offer as an alternative for some of the larger retailers,” said O’Brien. “We do not edit the DVDs or CDs we sell, but when a studio or label offers variances, we will provide what we know to be the best assortment for our customers.”
Target and Genius did not respond to requests for comment at deadline.
This is not the first time TWC has had to clean up its act for Zack and Miri. TV stations and newspapers around the country also rejected theatrical ads with the full title.
Director Kevin Smith also had a long fight with the Motion Picture Assn. of America to avoid an NC-17 rating for the film. Zack and Miri eventually scored an R rating.
Victoria Ahearn of The Canadian Press quotes Smith as saying that TWC complied with Wal-Mart’s request in creating the edited DVD cover. But Smith said he worries that the move could backfire. “Some Wal-Mart-er could buy it and think: ‘Oh, Zack and Miri, looks lovely,’ and pop it in and there’s … some pretty graphic stuff … I mean, at least with the word ‘porno’ in the title, you can kind of give people a warning about what they’re in for.”

Video game industry racks up $22 billion in sales in 2008
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced that the video game industry surpassed $22 billion in sales in 2008, a new all time high. This ridiculously large number includes all new hardware, software and peripheral sales.
All told, 189 million copies of console games ($8.9 billion), 29.1 million copies of PC games ($701.4 million) and 79.5 million copies of portable software ($2.1 billion) were sold.
Here is a few other fun facts from the front lines of video game sellers (all information comes from the NPD Group or the ESRB):
The $22 billion figure represents a 22.9% increase over 2007.
Game software sales accounted for $11.7 billion of the $22 billion total.
December sales accounted for $5.3 billion, the highest single month ever. For comparison's sake, the video game industry managed only $5.1 billion in sales over the entire year in 1997.
Finally, the ESA and ESRB broke game sales down by ESRB rating:
E For Everyone - 45.3%
Everyone 10 and Older (E10+) - 12.1%
T For Teen - 26.7%
M For Mature - 15.9%

DVD, Blu-ray Boost Amazon Q4
While other retailers are shedding jobs and shuttering stores, Amazon.com announced Jan. 29 that it had a very strong fourth quarter, posting profits of $255 million, up 9% from the same three months (ended Dec. 31) in 2007. Revenue was at $6.7 billion, up 18% from the same period last year.
“We remain relentlessly focused on serving customers with low prices, great selection and free shipping offers, including Amazon Prime,” said Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com. “We’re particularly grateful for the unusually strong demand for Kindle in the fourth quarter.” The Kindle is Amazon’s electronic book reader.
Sales of DVDs, Blu-ray Discs and other media were $3.64 billion worldwide, up 9% compared to the same period in 2007. Sales of electronics and “other general merchandise” grew to $2.89 million worldwide, up from $2.21 billion during the fourth quarter of 2007.

Legendary horror star Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street series, Zombie Strippers) stars as Dr. Eli, a quirky scientist responsible for unleashing a mutant breed of killer bees on an unsuspecting town, when BLACK SWARM flies onto DVD February 3, 2009 from Genius Products and RHI Entertainment.
In the movie exterminator Devin Hall (Roberts) has seen a lot when it comes to peculiar insect behavior, but nothing like the swarm of wasps that descends on a homeless man and kills him. The attack captures the attention of two women: Katherine Randall (Heitmeyer), an associate professor of entomology; and Jane Kozik (Allen), the new Deputy Sheriff and Devin’s former lover. They join Devin in his quest to stop the deadly swarm. When Jane’s daughter Kelsey meets Eli (Englund), the odd “wasp keeper,” and other locals who all seem to buzz, things get even stranger.
Be afraid. Be very afraid, if you see a Black Swarm approaching! In the terrifying tradition of classic nature-gone-amok films such as The Birds and Piranha, the 12th installment in the popular “Maneater” series also stars Sebastien Roberts (TV’s “Providence”), Sarah Allen (TV’s “Secret Window”), and Jayne Heitmeyer (TV’s “Earth: Final Conflict”). David Winning (Swamp Devil, Something Beneath) directed the terrifying thriller
from a script by To dd Samovitz (Wonderland) and Ethlie Ann Vare (Swamp Devil, Something Beneath). Black Swarm will be available on DVD for $14.95 SRP.
