Clear the way for new transmission lines
November 14, 2008 - 7:04 am
Sources of environment-friendly alternative energy, some as ancient as windmills and others as modern as a photoelectric farm, are needed. And at least until recently, investors were panting for an opportunity to put their money behind them. Exhibit A: oil billionaire T. Boon Pickens's project to build a $5 billion wind farm in Texas.
Perhaps the biggest obstacle to the expansion of such energy sources, in New Hampshire's jobs-starved North Country and elsewhere, is the absence of enough transmission line capacity to get the power from where it's produced to where it's needed. To paraphrase one electric industry executive, build a power plant and you anger a community. Build a transmission line and you anger 100. Community opposition, however, is not the problem in New Hampshire. Massachusetts is.
New Hampshire is a net exporter of electricity. It doesn't need the power - except to meet Gov. John Lynch's goal of getting 25 percent of the state's power from alternative energy by 2025. But it has ample supplies of wind and low-quality wood that could be chipped and burned to fuel power plants. The electricity produced would be fed into the regional grid. Everyone would benefit, both from a cleaner environment and from having power when supplies might otherwise be short. But who will pay the estimated $200 million cost of building the new North Country lines? That's the rub.
Developers can't convince investors to invest with no guarantee that the power can be transmitted and sold. Utilities won't invest until two main questions are answered.
• If they indeed build the transmission line, will power-plant developers come?
The drive to green energy has been slowed by gasoline prices at or below $2 per gallon and by an economy in intensive care. But both circumstances are temporary, and the Earth's increasing temperature offers reason enough to switch to environmentally benign technologies.
• Can utilities and ratepayers find a fair way to share the cost of building the lines?
Power plant builders will benefit, but they want ratepayers to pay. Utility customers and states striving to meet alternative energy and environmental goals will benefit. But they don't want to give power plant builders a free ride.
Public Service Co. of New Hampshire is in the unique position of being a regulated utility that owns the existing transmission lines. It wants to build a biomass plant of its own. PSNH wouldn't benefit if another developer came in and drove up the price of fuel and used up power line capacity. And no transmission line developer wants to subsidize competitors who come along later.
Most of all, utilities, customers and regulators don't want ratepayers in states that refuse to contribute to the cost of the new lines to benefit from the additional regional capacity. That's where Massachusetts comes in. Utilities and regulators in other states in ISO New England, the regional power grid, are open to finding a way to share the cost. Massachusetts, at least so far, is not. It dreams of meeting its alternative energy goals with projects built within its borders. The issues are enormously complex and, despite the need to act soon, we see no reason for optimism.
Some version of this problem is being played out across the nation. Under the Bush administration, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has largely taken a hands-off position. But global warming won't wait for countless state and regional battles to be fought and resolved. A federal role, if only as a goad to cooperation, is called for. The next administration should, with the support of New Hampshire's congressional delegation, find a way to fairly apportion the burden of meeting the nation's alternative energy goals when states and regions are unable to do so speedily on their own.

I just sent an e-mail to Michael Bartoszek. hope I get some responce.
Tom can you please e-mail me his latest e-mail
Innovative Land Use Planning Techniques Handbook from New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services
I have not read it yet, i was thinking this weekend if I have time.
http://des.nh.gov/media/pr/documents/081031ilu.pdf
Actual handbook Below:
http://des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/water/wmb/repp/innovative_land_use.htm
Michael Bartoszek, we need a little more, then hearing about all the calls and e-mails you are getting for an update. If that is the only way for you to realize we need an update after the "tentative" date then I guess you will be getting a lot more calls and e-mails.
As you may be aware you have lost creditability with investors. your stock has had NO buyers after your last BLOG. We need proof that "We are still working on closing the deal and all is well".
Is HH Capital still in the Berlin Deal?
Any update on going to the OTC BB?
e-mail me at discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com and I will give you my actual work e-mail
BUY BUY BUY we will have GREEN days ahead . . . Michael Bartoszek is out of hiding and answering his e-mails and BLOG posts
LLEG going to the moon
I have not had any of my e-mails/BLOG replied to over the past 2 months. . . . That is my point
If someone here on the board it in contact they should inform him we are frustrated.
What number did you call him on?
(maybe if I word it different I wont get deleted off the board) NEZ : Why do you feel confident on the Information and action being done? Do you have any information. Can you validate the PR releases are accurate.
Maybe I am not smart enough
DEAD SILENCE from your fearless leader.......
Brungy: Thanks for the PM, I cant reply via PM because of account restrictions. I know what you mean I am starting to feel the same way.
WELL TD23: low enough 4 you, are you buying yet or just cheerleading?
Like I said Just My Opinion. If Michael Bartoszek did not want his stock in the crapper (where it is NOW) I think he would of gone to HH and say put out a PR stating we are still on target for the close of Berlin for Laidlaw...HH did not have to mention anything about a time-frame. maybe I am just thinking out loud my frustration with Michael Bartoszek.
H&H is not in the deal anymore. There was no H&H mentioned in any of the receint update PRs.....JMO we will see on WED.. WED is that same day I go for my psycho oral evaluation for the NYPD...they want to see how much of a nut I am....I hope they don't look at my LLEG holdings
I have done it in he past. I bought only 10K shares. Since I have a lot of shares every .0001 tick = between $5,500 - $6,000 for me. I have to show my balance at the end of the month and if I need to make up a little I buy a little. :)
Brungy: I am not bearish in LLEG, I still believe we can get a power plant going, I am just upset at management. If Michael Bartoszek closes the Berlin deal I will apologies for my rants and buy a few good "long" posters on this board a steak dinner. Even if I have to fly in for the night. I still have not sold any of my shares yet. Yes I do plan on selling 1/2 my position on the next run up, but the potential is still there. I will always have LLEG in my ROTH IRA if we hit $1 or we get listed at LLEGQ and get delisted.
Sage: Just my opinion. Even though the location is a heavy industry they will have a problem granting a permit for anything over 3stories. All other businesses in the area will want the same deal LLEG gets. This will cause lawsuits again this is just my opinion. I hope we do hear good news in 3 months.
I do not know anybody in the know for any of LLEGs deals and I am no way an authority on legal issues. My opinion should not be taken for any truth.
Hope you guys are having a good day...I truly mean that
veritas - I think the Henniker deal is dead. Laidlaw had to pull teeth to get that 3month extension. The Board is just stalling there NO reply....JMO
ronbate2004: I sure hope so, I have 4mill in my ROTH IRA that I do not plan on selling unless we hit a few dimes. But I am just frustrated with the silence and delays. One thing that bugs me is his blog is dead quiet.... no news being posted about other biomass plants going up. Just to give the glimmer to shareholders that biomass is not dead with oil down where it is... I am still long and frustrated, i need Toms advice with a little "patience"
There is no run up in LLEG for a few reasons. (not sure why my last post was deleted from the Message board I bet it was by accident OR just a delay, but I am sure all parties are still reviewing it and still on board ;))
- Michael Bartoszek lost face, we all know he will delay yet again on October 22. there is not reason to believe yet
-- Oil prices have dropped like a stone and there is diminishing interest in ALT Energy. Until OPEC F&*$s-us all. BUT Boon pickens is still at it...good for him
---Do not listen to anyone on any message board. . . . . CROONER and others stated a high powered NH Democratic Senator confirmed for them the deal was going to close by the end of the month. . . .That was back in early August. Typical pollitition
We have all been here a long time to know we SELL SELL SELL into any strength...I HAVE MY SELLS IN, so should you...
P.S. I hope this time my post does not get lost...its OK I made a backup.
P.S.S. DO YOUR OWN TRADING< I am not smart enough to give you advise...PLEASE SEC don't arrest me.
P.S.S.S. if you cant laugh you might as well be dead
Biomass proposal granted extension
Laidlaw asks for time to gather information
By AMY AUGUSTINE Monitor staff
October 16, 2008 - 12:00 am
The Henniker Zoning Board last night unanimously granted a three-month extension on a proposal that would bring a 20-megawatt woodchip burning plant to town.
Citing requests by board members for additional information about the proposed facility, Laidlaw Energy Group asked that the extension be given to address specific engineering and design issues raised in past meetings.
"To do this correctly, it's going to take us three full months to be able to come back to you and tell you the accurate time limit," Laidlaw Attorney Jack McCormack told the board. "A full and fair presentation of our application, which is very important to all of us, requires that time limit."
No progress has been made on the proposal since it was first brought before the board in May. One board member last night said she was skeptical that substantial progress would be made in three months and suggested Laidlaw withdraw its application and resubmit when it was ready.
"(Laidlaw) really hasn't provided any information that five minutes with a copy machine couldn't give us," said Gigi Laberge, who did not vote on the extension. "People in our community have indicated to us that they don't like the proposal, and I think it hangs them out for a long period of time."
At issue are two variance requests to build the biomass facility on Old Concord Road, in the town's heavy commercial district. Under zoning regulations, a power plant does not fall into the category.
For a variance to be granted, Laidlaw must prove that the ordinance is an unnecessary hardship, that granting it will not negatively affect the value of surrounding properties, and that the variance is not contrary to the public interest, among other criteria.
At past hearings, board members and citizens asked Laidlaw to provide specifics on where power transmission lines would be located, exact dimensions of the building and the level of emissions the plant would potentially produce.
"The questions you posed were very, very good," McCormack said. But, he said, specific conceptual design questions take time and require input from outside parties.
"My clients, who know these answers, tell me in three months they'll have sufficient input to tell you the exact knowledge. That's what I'm told," he said.
The crowd of 15 people that turned out for last night's meeting was sparse in comparison to the hundreds that have attended past hearings.
In July, opponents of the proposal, many belonging to the Hopkinton-based environmental group REACH, spoke out against the plant at a hearing that lasted nearly four hours. At that meeting, Laidlaw asked that the company be considered as a light commercial industry, which would have avoided the need for a variance. The board rejected the request, 3-2.
In August, proponents were given an opportunity to speak in favor of the plant. The company invited representatives from the state Department of Environmental Services to discuss air quality information. DES backed out the morning of the hearing, telling Laidlaw it would not attend to avoid the appearance of supporting one side or the other, McCormack said.
Proponents tout the proposal as a green form of energy, one that would meet the state's renewable energy criteria. In 2007, Gov. Lynch signed into law a renewable portfolio standard, requiring that 25 percent of New Hampshire's energy come from renewable sources by 2025.
The biomass plant would burn virgin woodchips and produce steam to generate electricity.
Laidlaw's next hearing will be held Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.

I just hope we do not have anymore delays.... This market does not want anymore delays....understand me Michael Bartoszek !
No Buyers = Huge spreads between BID and ASK
MBorowski do 400000 even...AON
You might have it set for AON (All Or None) there might not be a share block size to match you. I had that problem when I set a AON for 1million shares at .0009 (a month ago) and the price went through my BUY and hit .0008 and never executed. then went back up to .001.. . .that is one reason
veritas and ronbate2004 NO it is not me I have not sold.... The new Bill passed has a new alternative energy segment....Still hopping
GREGG: SENATE BIPARTISAN TAX RELIEF PACKAGE GIVES ECONOMY BOOST, DEVELOPS CLEAN ENERGY, FIXES MISDIRECTED TAX GLITCH
"We’ve also included a hefty tax-incentive package that strongly supports clean and renewable energy production and new technologies that will put America on an aggressive path towards energy independence and a cleaner environment."

P.S. I might be in a bad mood with the stock performance but I still have my shares. I can also hope Berlin closes Oct22.....my fingers are crossed
Trade uP I guess you bought more
The way LLEG is trading Michael Bartoszek lost face and did not gain any respect with the latest PR....well we all expected an extention...nothing new
ONE good note the trading is on light volume...so we might have a little hope
BigBucksFl: How do you know HH capital is sill apart of this deal? besides speaking with Charlie Brown @ HH capital.
Still no mention about HH Capital Advisors LLC..... sorry to be a pooper
I just spoke with Mr Brown (Maybe Charlie Brown)and said Laidlaw WHO?.....
Just kidding, i did NOT speak with anyone. Can we trust anyone anymore.....I DO NOT BELIEVE....but a good try
Only a Press Release will answer the question.
Michael Bartoszek convince me I am wrong and I should not sell my 60mill shares...e-mail me
discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com
discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com
discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com
discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com
discreet_suffolk@yahoo.com
I guess even all the longs are giving up on LLEG. Don't come back and say NO WE HAVE NOT....THEN BUY with your conviction. Michael Bartoszek silence tells a story..... Is the silence because he can not say anything because the deal is not done, OR he needs to dump 50mil more shares in Sept, Oct and Dec and does not want to see the stock @ .0001 when he does a secondary offering to flood the market.....Things that make you say HMMMMMM
Think of all the friends, family and co-workers you screwed over buy telling them to BUY BUY BUY.
Thank you Michael Bartoszek all us shareholders appreciate all you did. Just next time get the facts before you open your mouth and state:
"we expect to shortly execute a 30 days extension ...........which we feel will provide sufficient time to address the remaining legal issues and close the acquisition and financing." Thursday August 7 2008
Thursday August 7 2008
Thursday August 7 2008
Thursday August 7 2008
I can see why he was confused about why us shareholders thought 30 days from Aug7th was a deadline. ;)
I hope I do not get deleted off the board...lol
P.S. Michael Bartoszek never returned any of my e-mails or comments I posted on his blog. I guess I am not as big as CYCLONE101.
GOOD_BYE all, it is time to get out of Dodge. On top of Michael Bartoszek 50million DUMP you will be getting my 60million DUMP as well. Hope you longs want to buy shares....lol
Just delete me off your board, just like you did the post that replied to your last post.... WOW you delete posts fast when it goes against you.
Not putting all your eggs in one basket is not bad advise. SEC slap the handcuffs on me.
If you can't laugh at my FAKE pr release you are also a little frustrated with LLEG. I do not know what the next PR will say.
I am not negative or positive on LLEG. I just want to see commitment from Michael Bartoszek.
I still have not sold any of my shares (60mil), but if no action happens this month I will see what I do.
Well you all got your shares filled at .0009. now the bid is @ .0008..... I hope the selling does not continue or we will revisit the .0003 low soon.
seeing is believing..... maybe Michael Bartoszek can save face or we will see the below press release:
The deal for Berlin could not be completed due to land usage issues, but don't fear shareholders we have many other projects in the works and in 30 - 3000000 days we will close on something.
Good luck to all...like I said in the past make sure LLEG is only a small part of your position.
If this deal was to take more than 30 days he never should of opened up his big mouth and say the deal will close within 30 days. I know we all need patients but with the market and energy stocks in a tail spin and 50mil shares flooding the market every month (give us an update on this one MB!!!!) Berlin supporting clean energy in a press release.....my patients are running thin with promises that need more time. I have bought 30mil over the past 2 months. I have stopped buying all together and removed all my bids until the deal is done, I am tired and need a bit more then his frustration about getting 50 e-mails. sorry for the rant, but I am sure a lot of you feel the same way
cyclone
please keep us posted if MBB says all is on target for closure next week.
What does this have to do with LLEG.....lol..just kidding
My condolences on your lock down. I hope your relationship lasts a long long time.
I want STEAK....any update?
I don't have anymore nails to bit off.....WE NEED NEWS, NO MORE DELAYS PLEASE ! ! ! ! ! !
