I still possess SLW (Silver). Hold on to your silver & gold stocks in this economy !!!
Still researching the bee scare (i.e., why are the bees shrinking in size and leaving our crops? - something in the air, water? - this WILL AFFECT our crops!!! Does our new stimulus bill research this concern?!) so what is an investor to focus on in regards to this news??? And why does one have to get great info from the BBC instead of NBC, CNN, etc??? Our media focuses on celebs and 14 babies vs. what matters most - Come on America WAKE UP !!!
Answer: buy commodities contracts in wheat.
More on this bee concern later...........
I wonder if the movie "Watchmen" is worth shelling out 8 bucks to see?

Have a great Friday !!!

IH (aka Pirate) make sure it's legit to use the US postal service ball cap on your site..just check buddy...my recommendation.
I have gone to a strong cash position like many have but I have maintained my accumulations of SLW which remains smart given that the Feds will lower the rate again tomorrow thus devaluing the USD (again) and strengthening gold & silver.
Yeah!
My brother is deep into ABX (+ Chesapeak Energy), but what do we Forbes brothers know?
So I strongly recommend that EVERYONE accumulate silver & gold in solid form or via mining company stocks like ABX or SIL or even better yet GFI (African mining companies are STRONG !!!)
But what do we Forbes brothers know?
But then again what DO YOU KNOW ?!

Bailout Strategy?
Given that the Feds are bailing out FM & FM tomorrow, what are some of the stock positions the Board recommends to take advantage of this Federal manipulation?
My portfolio is strong with CLNE as my anchor - I keep moving my sell price up every week.
And I plan on buying more silver via SLW this week as well ( I might even use Kurt's strategy).
Wish I could contribute more, but my f^&*ing day job prevents me from doing so.

XSI Info: (~6.90 per share w/ heavy volume)

The Company utilizes its network of ancillary healthcare service providers, contracting capabilities, client service support and claims management services to assist health benefits plan sponsors, including preferred provider organizations, third-party administrators, insurance companies, and large self-funded employers, to reduce their overall ancillary healthcare costs. XSI is doing a good job in comparison to it's peers with a Revenues Per Employee, Return on Equity, and Return on Assets of $818,175.00, 2.93%, and 2.24% respectively. Despite average performance at generating revenues from employees and at managing their owner's equity, the company is among the best at managing their resources compared to other companies in the Healthcare Facilities industry.
Short interest is higher this month, but man, just look at the candlestix chart for XSI.

HERO has typical profitability characteristics for a company in the Oil Well Services & Equipment industry. While it is better than most at converting revenues to profits on a gross and operating basis, its net margin is on only par with the norm.
HERO is overall doing a poor job in comparison to it's peers with a Revenues Per Employee, Return on Equity, and Return on Assets of $315,606.40, 8.19%, and 4.46% respectively. While only average at managing their resources, the company is below average at generating revenues from employees and at managing their owner's equity compared to other companies in the Oil Well Services & Equipment industry.
HERO's debt to total capital ratio, at 37.31%, is in-line with the Oil Well Services & Equipment industry's norm despite its increase over the last year. With an Interest Coverage ratio of 2.79 and a Quick ratio of 1.71 the company should be able to comfortably repay its debt.

TBV - Info
Tiens Biotech Group (USA), Inc. researches, develops, manufactures, and markets nutrition supplement products, including wellness products and dietary supplement products. The Company's operations are conducted from its headquarters in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China through Tiens USA's 80% owned subsidiary, Tianjin Tianshi Biological Development Co., Ltd. The Company sells its products for distribution in China to Tianshi Engineering, an affiliated Chinese firm, which in turn sells the products to customers through its branches and affiliated companies and at chain stores owned by individual distributors. As of December 31, 2007, Tianshi Engineering had 100 branches in China. Outside of China, Tiens USA sells its products to overseas affiliated companies located in 52 countries that in turn sell them to independent direct sales distributors who use the products themselves and/or resell them to other distributors or consumers.
TBV is one of the more profitable companies in the Biotechnology & Drugs industry with a net margin of 38.34%. Its operating margin and net margin are among the strongest of any peer while its gross margin is above the industry median.
TBV is overall quite efficient in comparison to it's peers with a Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Revenues Per Employee of 12.32%, 12.60%, and $36,512.77 respectively. Despite below average performance at managing their resources, the company is among the best at managing their owner's equity and at generating revenues from employees compared to other companies in the Biotechnology & Drugs industry.
Because TBV is in the Biotechnology & Drugs industry and has positive earnings, the PE and Price to Book ratios are the most appropriate valuation measures. The Price to Sales ratio is less instructive than the PE since the company has positive earnings. Therefore TBV seems valued at a discount with a PE value of 4.5154, one of the lowest in the Biotechnology & Drugs industry.

The EMA & candlestix chart is ALMOST akin to PAET .
Thank you for the earnings news on PAET + your BOARD is impressive.

Financials will suffer greatly in 2009
Why am I writing this?
Simple.
In 2004 the USA experienced the greatest increase in home sales (especially here in Vegas), and most buyers signed on to a 5 yr ARM.
2004 + 5 = 2009
When these ARMs adjust, I fear the worst for the companies holding the mortgages which many buyers will be forced to foreclose on.
Forgive me for bumming you out, but this is my take on the upcoming year.
2009 will be interesting, very interesting.

Wish I had bought them.

Their candlestix charts resemble AUTH however your choice (AUTH) is the stronger performer of the 3.
I just cross referenced other companies similar to AUTH and came up with CEVA & TWLL.
AUTH was a good gainer today; congrats!

Iran...Tone changing...when?...Not a country to ever trust
Listen Hand,
Iran like other countries dislikes our lifestyle & freedoms so I am sure our 'lovely' leaders are prompting Israel to launch their strike fighters, then we will aid Israel in their efforts, but we cannot make the initial strike and although you sit there asking why not, we just cannot due to world wide politics.
+
the strike on the centrifuges has to be surgical and hopefully conventional since we can not afford to contaminate that section of the country or have contaminated dust swirl in the clouds and dissipate over China/ Dubai/ Russia...just not a good idea at all.
See now you see why my commodity friends are putting their $$$ back into Crude oil futures tomorrow!
Goes to show...
some 'pirates' have too much time on their "HANDS" (hehehe)
Okay now let's get informative....
I am leaning towards MSO (Martha Stewart)since the news came out on the Walmart deal. Now I know I am a lil' late on this posting, but am I too late to consider buying the ex-con's stock?
I don't think so, since Walmart, McD's, and the YUM brands should do quite well given our economy.
Hell you can feed a family of 4 cheaper at McD's or at KFC than you can basically buy the ingredients for at the grocery store.
Why doesn't our Congress sense this?
Oh that's right...they are wealthy, wealthy, wealthy.
Do you really think that they actually drive those Ford Escapes as they say they do?
BS!
But hey WE are to blame for our Congressmen inactions because if you do not call or write to these guys the inaction will continue...come on, anyone likes the status quo if they can afford it, and these guys can !!!
So let's consider the stocks that everyone will be buying products from.
Walmart
McDonalds
YUM brands (KFC, Pepsi, Taco Hell, Pizza Slut)
Target
Nissan
Hyundai
+
let me also tell ya that my commodity friends are buying futures in Cocoa, Nat gas, Gold, Silver , and Crude, yes crude!
Drill drill drill is a great idea but we will not see any effects for at least 10 years (I know how fast this occurs since I am a gov't paid subcontractor) and to release 70M gallons of fuel from the reserve will offset the price at the pump by ~35 cents for a few weeks but this is only a temp solution. We are in a corner that we got ourselves into 20 years ago + it has not helped us that the Bush's and Cheney's ( & other Congressmen) have profited from this oil industry for decades (don't forget that Halliburton aids the oil producing countries even today)
So let's get smart and invest in company's and their products that the struggling American can afford. But always backup your ideas with charts and other intelligence gathering.
Chow - John
Dear Lang-uish...............
I hope for your financial sake, that you are not investing with money that you cannot afford to lose. For example, rent money, etc.
All of us investing in stocks, commodities, etc, UNDERSTAND that we may lose $$$ (nice write off on our taxes) or we may gain money (which we invest again into a new 'idea').
But I shouldn't have to tell an adult this info.
What I will recommend is that you DO NOT invest with emotion.
Investing is not like going to the amusement park or having a great emotional time with your girlfriend, wife, or mistress.
So do your OWN research, and if you do not understand some terms or fundamentals behind investing ask the board members or access the tons of educational info on the NET or in your local library. Learn about candle sticks, short interest, etc.
Just learn, learn, learn !
Then you may gain financially as we all hope you do + you will be able to contribute to our TEAM effort to locate the gainers.
Thanks for contributing !

Glowboy Recommends: STEC
The candlestick charts for STEC are indicating an upswing + the hi-tech conference starts next week in Vail.
But why STEC?
I was researching EMC, read that they may sell VMware (good idea) + EMC may be bought by Cisco.
But the charts for EMC were not encouraging like the candlestick charts for STEC, another hi-tech firm I discovered when searching for EMC competitors.
STEC is currently trading ~ 10 per share.
EMC ~14 per share.

Glowboy's picks: PKD, T, and CLNE
I could not inform you from my employment site that I bought PKD today after the Prez announced his drill, drill, drill decision.
I guess he is not all that dumb afterall.
So getcha some Packard Drilling (up ~3% in overnight) and hang on to it for a nice take.
As for CLNE, this one should gain ground bit by bit and Pickens is beginning his TV ads on clean energy.
As for AT&T, what the F*&^?
I would have thought that they would have announced their take on their 3G I Phone plans at the same time Apple was announcing their killer sales weekend.
Maybe someone at AT&T forgot how to use their calculator.
I hope this is the reason.
But!
I still have faith in their ability to market their plans even if overnight trading is down.
Good nite all from Los Alamos, NM where it is a balmy 67 degrees.
John "Glowboy" Forbes
Monday will NOT suck for CLNE or AT&T.
I'll miss Tony Snow...he's about the only official in the White House that, well, used to, pronounce NUCLEAR correctly.
RIP Tony...RIP.
John "Glowboy" Forbes
Bought AT&T and CLNE on Thursday
Once the new I Phone 3G whinners get the programming they can't wait more than a New York minute to obtain, AT&T's 52 week price should change for those of us in it for a profit.
AT&T understands the marketing and comprise necessary to make this second chance work better to put more $ in their coffers and hopefully ours as well.
As for Clean Energy, well what more can I say than why not invest in this company? You can't ge me an adequate reason not to.
What's next?
I am researching my hometown companies MGM, Wynn, Boyd since many of them are seeing 52 price lows, but I will tell ya that the crowds are down this Summer in Vegas, so maybe these guys haven't seen the lowest of lows yet for the year, and my neighbor is telling me that Bally's may be looking at laying off their employees soon just as MGM-Mirage and others ARE doing.
My investment in knowledge has served me well.
I will review the posts at nite when I return from my daily engineering consulting endeavors. Wish I could assist with the messages during trading hours, but $$$ calls, and I have bills to pay, like the rest of you.
Thanks to all for helping IH with his picks, and please perform DD before posting your trades.
