nice to see some sanity on this board...bravo Turtle... maybe you could get a radiation oncologist to state an opinion.
I've been away for awhile, having become bored with the bantering of the regulars as there hasn't been much to discuss (except the IPO... on and on and ON).
Turtle may be right that this is the bottom but I wouldn't be to sure after following this stock for 8 or so years. It may go to 5 0r 6 cents after the hubbub dies down. IF some good news or a pump comes along (and I've been through them all) a savvy investor could make a few bucks buying and selling at the right times (potential earnings of 30% all the way up to ? [your guess is as good as mine]). I know I made and lost quite a bit over the years playing the peaks and valleys of this stock. It IS a lot of fun as long as you realize that despite the tech this stock may never go anywhere. It WILL however have more HIGHS and LOWS and as a penny stock there is money to be made.
"It is just a photo and someone photoshopped the text"
Gold, how do you think web sites are built? It is a bit crude but also under construction... sheesh
That is why I post on both boards. I though the info was quite interesting and thought I would pass it along after I read it. There was an omission of the three choices which were in the magazine but not on the web article I cut and pasted (oops).
they were:
a)95% b)75% and c)about 10%
The gist was that most doctors chose b)75% and that one shouldn't trust your doctor to do the math....
Answer: Given the odds, 95 out of 100 U.S. doctors chose B, 75%. The correct choice is C, about 10%. Say we test 1,000 people. Eight patients (0.8%) test positive—for real. Of the 992 others, 69 (7%) get false positives. Thus, you have a true positive in just 8 out of 77 positive results. I just follow this stock for kicks now. The banter between boards is ludicrously amusing. I do wonder whether Dr Moro can pull a rabbit out of his hat. I've made a bit of money over the years on BOCX before I found these boards. It was downhill from there.
I agree that Moro's answers over at The other board are helpful and I'm glad they set it up. It dismays me that it is more of a fan site than a discussion forum. To his credit, Moro answered Newbie's questions even though he was banned by the others. Paranoia runs rampant over there. That is enough off-topic for me.
I still hope good things for the company despite the failure to bring ANY product to market over the last few years. As soon as there is revenue I will hop back on the train.
Hey Gold,
Who was banned over at the other site? I know they wee giving newbie a hard time for awhile.... Sorry if this is off topic but most of us read both boards to keep up...
Undoubtedly there is some scrambling going on. I am not well versed enough in mandatory SEC disclosures to know how long they could keep a lid on bad news... like default on a loan. I suppose there is some wiggle room (with penalties attached) as in any loan agreement.
MBA...
you have made the following statements and i am confused:
"I've followed it since mid 2004 when it was brought to my attention in online emails and it picqued my imagination, and then I started receiving their news releases."
"I have been following this company since before its name became Biocurex."
No offense intended, which of the above statements is true?
"I do not know if Dr. M reads this message board or posts to it, however, although he does not know me personally, and I have never met him, he would probably know my identity and of my interest in his company."
"Let me make it real clear: I do not know Dr. Moro. I never knew him. I learned about his activity from the emails I received."
Once again, this is confusing. How would Moro know your identity and of your interest in the company? Guessing gets us nowhere.
As you can tell from the previous posts, we are a curious bunch and after trying to figure out what Moro is up to, we find inconsistencies intriguing.
Absolutely no offense intended, but can you clear this up?
MBA
And may I apologize for calling you 'made up'. If you have been following this company since before it was Biocurex I wouldn't have thought you would be surprised by the many names applied to it in the various filings and press releases.
Gold,'
I apologize for snapping at you. Sometimes you do beat poor 'Ole Paint' excessively, though
C'mon Gold... in all fairness... just because Dr Ed couldn't find anything on the Abbott deal doesn't mean the tech is bad. Would Inverness have paid a million for a phony technology? Just because this stock might be going nowhere doesn't mean it's based on fraud!
Gold, we don't need a rehash of everything that may or may not be wrong with this company every time someone new makes a post. I've heard it all about Abbott and Smithline and the other biomarkers ad nauseum from you.
I can almost believe that you made up "MBA in Pittsburg" just so you would have a foil to rail to. That would be sad.
The only reason I am sticking around is because of my curiosity to see what happens when Moro runs out of money (IF he runs out of money). Gold, I (and everyone else) have heard your side...anyone else care to comment?
I still hold a significant number of shares. I have made money over the past 5 years and have lost money this year. All in all the risk has been worth it. I do wonder whether Moro will pull a rabbit out of his hat yet again. That would be a good thing as I believe in the tech. However i do worry about the die-hards on the CPMB (company paid message board) who are recently in near hysterics over any questioning posts....
Putting ones eggs all in one basket, and talk of rabbits is more appropriate for an Easter morning. I hope one kitty hasn't disregarded conventional wisdom and let it all ride on a turkey.
I wish all all happy Thanksgiving. Times are tough and there is no benefit in negativity. Cheers!
Thanks for the answer gold.... MBA edited his post after I replied to add additional clarification. I am well aware of the happenings on both boards.
To what are you referring, if I may ask? Did you have a post deleted or is this a rhetorical question? Just curious.
Got my pamphlet last friday. Not a lot new, just a recap of what BOCX has done and promises of a possible new licensee (or 2!).
"something genuinely momentous is just around the corner. I can announce that we will soon be reaching our ultimate goal of commercializing our RECAF technology....Biocurex will start pulling in significant revenue."
Good news! I do wonder why the 8 page missive wasn't posted here , though. Perhaps someone could scan it to text and post it in it's entirety...
BTW
mysscat has dubbed me one of the "three amigos" on Agoracom... to clarify my muddied view.. that would be GS, Kag, Ted, and Zolax? I hope this doesn't get deleted as off topic as I really want to know who to have a beer with one of these days. I'm not a paid basher (I COULD use a little more cash flow though)or even an unpaid one. I AM a shareholder who has lost a good bit of money on paper. I would like to know what is going on and appreciate ALL views.
RoberZ
I own a LOT of this stock. Could you clue some of us with inefficient mail service in on this missive from Dr Moro? Anything new to analyze besides the constant grousing from both sides would be welcome. Thanks in advance!
Half,
He stated "the answer is none"... let it die
Sorry Kag,
I didn't realize my response to the hostility on this board was offensive. Let me know why I was deleted. My humble apologies.
I have noted your theory from past posts. It seems plausible to me, but the good doctor may have another explanation. Your answer won't fly with the cheerleaders, though. It is a reasonable question. Perhaps Dr M will grace us with an answer soon.
Seems to me there was a mass exodus from this board to the Agoracom board a few months ago. All the cheerleaders agreed to boycott Ihub and for awhile they did. What happened? Why are all of you back?
For the record, I hold tens of thousands of shares and have invested in BOCX since before the pump and dump of '03. These shares have become more worthless as 2008 wears on. Oh well, live and learn
I myself prefer the Ihub format as I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about many things, including human nature. Agoracom is useful for direct questions to the company (Dr M) but there is hardly any discussion going on there.
IMHO the cheerleaders (and we all know who you are) were so bored being with only folks who shared their one sided opinions (go, doctor, go!) came back to level attacks on folks who don't entirely agree with them. My advice to them is to go back to the friendly environs of the company paid board and wait for the next missive to be passed down from on high.
I, for one, refuse to believe everything that is passed along as "truth". I believe that the "bashers" (and we all know who they are as well) have contributed much useful information and opinions. Sometimes it gets a little excessive, but overall I have found it interesting and helpful in forming my own opinions.
So, to the pumpers (cheerleaders), let's have no more talk of disbanding a tool that I have found helpful. If you can't stand people whose opinions are different from your own, there is a place for you a few keystrokes away. I am really tired of personal attacks and bickering over inconsequential matters. My time is valuable to me and endless useless posts waste it.
This is in response to no one post...Whew! I go away for 2 days and I have to catch up with over 100 new posts. Entertaining reading, though a bit exhausting...
I find it interesting to note that no one comments on the movement of the stock this last week. We drifted alarmingly down as far as .13 on Wednesday, light trading on Thursday until the last half hour of trading when over 70K shares traded hands between .14 and rising to .18 when 30k shares were bought at the bell.
Some smartypants made over 30% on his/her money overnight! Let's see... buy 30k @ .18= $5,400... sell at .26= $7,800. That's a $2,400/30% profit overnight. Chump change to some of you, no doubt. Not for me. And that's not counting the shares that were bought earlier in the week as the price was dropping...
What bothers me is that someone knew to buy those shares up cheap because some new announcement was coming. Pump and dump is the strategy, I guess, but who knew the pump was coming??? Did they (whoever "they" are) drive the price down before the announcement? And how? This seems worth discussing, no? Or am I just naive?
Gold,
thanks once again for you thorough research. Although your motivations for such due diligence could be interpreted as questionable (as so many others have pointed out), I learn from your posts. The Ova-Check article was very informative.
I agree that it may be difficult to market RECAF as a stand alone test, but the article clearly suggests that there IS a market. Yes it is volatile and there are opinions on both sides of the aisle but there IS a demand. In this case women are actually having their ovaries removed due to a genetic disposition without any verification at all! Talk about false positives....!?!?!
Also, Ova-Check is a combo-test (for lack of a better word). The long beaten dead horse that was Abbott tried to combine Recaf with PSA. It wasn't as good as they hoped. IMHO there may still be a future market when RECAF is combined with other equally promising tech. Perhaps that is what IMA is up to.
some Indian kid making a buck any way he can. He sounds ambitious. Give him a chance.
It's called marketing, GS, it's a good thing...not the darkside
I dont get it GS...where are you quoting from?
thanks Ted! Great resource! It brings back memories.
Here's the 10 year link:

I've played this stock as a numbers game. It never made sense (to me)how it was working, so I just played the patterns.
Bocx would slowly fall and settle.
Good news was leaked and the volume and price would shoot up...
only to slowly fall and settle.
people have been playing this stock for years.
I forget who to credit with the observation (Ted? Gold?) but when Inverness got in the equation it has been kept under .70
No matter what happens, I'm not leaving the theatre until it's over. Too much fun! I want to laugh! I want to cry! I want to beat my head against the wall for not playing the trends better! And yet I can't peel my eyes away. I can't wait to see what's around the corner!
OK, too much vodka, on to bed.
PS does anyone have access to a six or more year graph of the price of BOCX? I can't seem to put one together...
So in that (terrible) scenario we are talking less than 10M for some great intellectual property....?
I recall a couple of kids out of college only a few years who bought up some great ideas not too long ago.
Bill Gates
Steve Jobs
Not stupid people.
In my very humble opinion this stock is definitely being manipulated. I've watched it for too many years not to see the pattern. I will admit that I have profited from these fluctuations... isn't that the point?
Now excuse my ignorance, but just what would it take to do a buyout of BOCX at this point? Hostile or otherwise? 20 million? Less? More? Would I get all the patents, pending or otherwise and Dr. Moro availability? Seems like a bargain if true. Maybe i should invest in IMA?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Quiet Knight
I feel the need to interject, instead of just lurking as I mostly do.
I respect ALL views here and this hostility amongst what I know to be good people is definitely sickening.
I for one am here to LEARN from the experience and the free exchange of ideas. There is no way any individual can absorb and sort out all of the data out there. Some are better than others and , of course interpretation is a whole different ball game. Unfortunately there is not much we can DO but sit back and play arm chair quarterback. If there was any way to just stop the countless little jibes and outright accusations between the posters, I definitely would like to suggest we try it. I may be fairly recent to this board, but I have held BOCX since 2002 and initially the stock dropped 75% in the first few months I held it... and I've held on ever since. So I know of what I speak. What a ride! And here we are again!
Listen Folks, we need each other. The horsemen of the apocalypse as well as the goofy cheerleaders. I for one want to hear the doom and gloom along with the good stuff, but PLEASE stop hammering your points to beyond death and attacking one another! It has been a long time since I was in high school and I have learned a bit along the way... Act your age is one thing.
p.s. see? no need to cast aspersions at individual posters!
Hey Kag!
Thanx for the advice. Part of the reason I am so fond of BOCX is that I have mercilessly played the ups and downs of this stock. Since it is so prone to fluctuations of 20% or more I have made a tidy profit. Buy low, sell high, n'est-ce pas? Now I just have to figure out how low it will go before i buy some more :)
Thank you Gold Seeker and Fluffy (you too, GG) for staying on topic and providing USEFUL info and ignoring the bickering.
Zolax, thank you for your negativity...every debate needs an extreme Devil's advocate.
Doggone, thank you for your positiveness, we need a superfan when times get tough.
Most of us fall somewhere in the middle... holders and watchers of this stock who are wondering (and debating) what the f*** to do with it. I've been involved for six years and have grown fond of BOCX no matter how much I'm frustrated by it (much like a wayward child)
As far as I'm concerned, all are welcome
"Even though RECAF has a few percentage points better numbers as to sensitivity and specificity, you have to wonder about market acceptance and why AMDL has not done much better."
Indeed. The info you have unearthed gives me great pause now. I had intended to increase my position in BOCX because I believe in the technology. Now that I have seen the progress of a very similar technology that has been on the market for YEARS I am having my doubts.
I may continue just playing the day trade game with this stock. Buy low and sell after making 10-20% and wait till it goes down again and repeat the cycle. Too bad my average pps that I hold is much higher today.
GS...
What you have researched is both remarkable and quite sobering. You have raised some of the questions I have had... specifically...what if you get a positive result with recaf? Where does one go from there? More tests? Which tests? especially with early stage cancers there may be or are no other detection methods. All you accomplish is scaring the patient, perhaps needlessly.
The release that killed DR70 in the UK was dated 6 years ago!!! What does this say about where Recaf stands today? Are we indeed many years away from any kind of marketing and profit? The point of care test is unique but is it as good or better (sensitivity and specificity) than the elisa or other methods? And, once again, what do you do with the results? IMO monitoring cancers in remission may be the only practical application.
I have been trading BOCX since 2002 and have seen it all from .65 to .10 to 2.70 and watched my supposed profits slip away bit by bit. I didn't run across this board until a few months ago and have been an avid fan of the lively discussion. I do wish a few wouldn't get so personal with each other, but one must take the good with the bad as in all phases of life. I do want to thank you all for keeping it alive.
excuse my clarification
Moro used the word 'prompt' as an adjective. you give the definition of the transitive verb. Accordingly: prompt
1 : being ready and quick to act as occasion demands
2 : performed readily or immediately <prompt assistance>
