Dow down 290 pts. CMG just went green up over $1.00

I didn't add that I had rolled into sept gld calls. When I take a profit like that I move to a higher strike and usually farther out month/week.

Sold my aug 164 gld calls for $350 profit per contract. Hit within $1.00 of the high which was 5.51.

Now I'm just watchingwaiting for a gold pullback. Under normal circumstances I would be looking to buy some index calls but this market is taking no prisoners and when Obama speaks the market drops further.
He has no credibility when it comes to business and finance. What a loser as he takes the country down with him.

caught that breakout on soda last week with aug. 85 options which should be good today. gmcr was also a catalyst in that move for soda .imho

HSBC to cut upwards of 10,000 jobs. Sounds like a familiar song and it will get worse particularly in the US.

Ken Langone on CNBC really putting Obama down as the culprit in dividing the country and costing jobs. He has a very valid argument and I'm surprised to see it posted on the home page of CNBC this AM. Wow what a surprise to see any criticism of Obama on a left leaning publication. Other than Fox news I didn't think there were any stations, newspapers etc. capable and willing to point out the real problem causing this weak economy and the job losses which will continue.

George Soros is getting out of the hedge fund business due to government regulation. Maybe Obama scared him last night with his "The sky is Falling" speech.
Oh yeah corporate jet owners are scared along with hedge funds operators with Obama calling them out as the bad guys.

I hope he doesn't start picking on us little guys here who speculate on put and call trading trying to make a few bucks.

There would have been a deal already if it were not for Obama's fear of going through this again next year and losing the election. That is the basis for his opposition to a deal that is short term. The Republicans have found Obama's weakness and will now not yield on this point. It all centers around the re-election and nothing to do with what is good for America.
Since the Republicans have figured this out they are sitting back watching Obama squirm.

I don't know about ldk. West made a deal where their solar panels will be part of a package in new house construction by Lennar. This is of course is where solar is a viable advantage.

West now up almost 40% . This is a first big deal for west so I think that part of the attractiveness of their panels is the ac and not dc aspect . Also ease of installation has been cited as a very large plus.

The official unemployment rate is 9.1% but actual unemployment is 15%. I can't recall a period where good jobs were so elusive. I don't see where business is going to be willing to start hiring anytime soon. Obama from the start of his presidency was attacking the business community at a time when he should have been doing everything to bend over backward for accomodation .

It is interesting to see Obama flit flight around the world and the country. He is an incompetent manager and his strength is in running around throwing out opinions on everything imaginable while shaking hands and using his campaign speak voice. What is amazing is how easily the general public is fooled by this but again they don't really pay attention to what he is doing. You need to really watch him to realize this guy is floundering and by blowing smoke screens over this pitiful economy he tries to keep his approval numbers from hitting rock bottom.

I was shocked by the amount of store closings in my area and this week a friend of mine is closing his business after 25+ years after declining sales and an inability to sell the business.

Exelon is huge no doubt. One of if not the largest operators of nukes in the US.

AKAM misses on earnings and Linn energy (line) misses as well.

These are two of Cramer's recent pumps . Now that's not to say he doesn't hit home runs but not every pick is a winner and he more than most of us should have good information. Scary fact which makes me wonder why I shouldn't go away.

Anyway two of mine CRR and CME beat on earnings. I just wish I had more options of CRR but was being cautious on this one never having been in it.

CRR was very interesting to me because of the amount of fracking for natural gas here in Pa. It's the equivalent of a gold rush and people here who owned some land in upstate Pa. have benefitted from this scramble. It was only logical that CRR would benefit if what was going on here was for real. If you look at the earnings for CRR it's very real. It could be up $8 to $10 this AM.

wow that's going to eliminate a donor of mine for the non profit of which I serve on the board. Two years ago both Exelon and Constellation were great supporters of ours for stream restorations in the county in which I live. Exelon has been one of the major sources of support for us and they have been excellent to work with.

well I doubt there is any rate changes in the works for a long time. I just heard some thoughts about how interest rates on long notes will probably not move much after June. I expected treasury's to take a hit after June and of course then tlt would be a place to play but I doubt that's a sure thing at this point in time. Surely a tough market right now.

I leave Friday. Euro almost to 1.47. I paid 1.426 a few weeks ago.

What do you think the mkt will do after the Bernanke. Right now gold and silver are soaring. Dollar is tanking. Grains roaring on weather problems. Inflation ???? that's going to be an interesting question for him shortly.

Market is becoming very difficult.. actually more irrational than ever and some of the trading makes no sense at all to me. Anyone else in that boat? Maybe time to get out and go away.

"They said they didn't want to kill Gadhafi. Now some officials say, yes, we are trying to kill Gadhafi," Putin said on a visit to Denmark. "Who permitted this, was there any trial? Who took on the right to execute this man, no matter who he is?"
