Yep, definitely need to have that fixed. As much time as it takes to annotate some of these charts, having them saved is really a necessary option.
You're right SG, there's no way to save the Autochart setup once you annotate it. I've already emailed Oanda with that suggestion as well as a suggestion to be able to take snapshots of charts like we can with the MT4 platform.
If they get those 2 items added, it would be a great improvement.
Looks like you can also take any lower window indicator and move it up top right on top of the candles as well SG. Just select the lower indicator and Merge Up. It'll drop it right on top of the price action.
Not sure if that's a good thing or not...LOL!
Finally figured out how to overlay one indicator over another on the lower window. You have to drop the indicator on the top chart first. So if you want to add an EMA to the KST below, just drop the EMA on the main chart first. Then, right click the EMA anywhere on the chart and select Merge Down. It will drop down on top of the indicator window then.
I saw that as well Simple. I'd never heard of it but it looks pretty nice.
They've got some really nice features in this setup.
I found it Jav. On the comparison pair, right click anywhere on the line that represents the second pair. A menu will pop up. Click Format on the menu. That gives you a drop down box to change to candlesticks, bars, etc.
Oh, I gotcha...you mean when you lay another pair on top of the current advanced chart...hang on...I'll check and see...
Mine popped up already set with candles but at the top toolbar on the Advanced chart, there's a button that allows you to change the candle type. All of the standard ones are there including HA candles.
I just contacted Oanda support Jav and recommended that they add 2 options to the standard platform...
1. The ability to save the annotations in Advanced Charting. I noticed quickly that once you close the chart, all of your notes disappear with it and you have to do it all over again each time.
2. The ability to do snapshot images of the charts both in the standard platform and the advanced charting module. This would make is much easier to post a chart.
Hopefully, they can get those added. It would be nice to have that ability to do these things like we have in the MT4 platform.
That thing has some really cool toys, Jav. In some ways, it's better than MT4. For example, you can overlay another pair like EU on the same chart, in this case AU, to compare and see how they trade together. You can do it on the main body of the chart or you can put it in it's own lower indicator window.
I haven't seen an option yet though to save a snapshot of the chart like you can with MT4. I had to copy a screenshot and paste it. That's a definite drawback.
I didn't realize they changed it, Jav. I haven't opened the standard platform in a while. I just tried it and it said it was outdated so I'm downloading the new one now. I'll give it a whirl and see what they have. Thanks for the heads up.
I totally forgot the markets were gonna be closed tomorrow for Easter. I went ahead and closed out the 2 profitable USD/DKK shorts I had running. Still have the UJ short running but if it drops back, I'll probably close it out, too.
No, I'm in about right here. The 4 hour candle has already formed a hammer on USD/DKK and the EU 4 hour chart has an inverted hammer at the bottom.
They'll move up on EU to make one more new high and one more new low on USD/DKK by tomorrow. And UJ is slated for another new low before it can rally.
That leg up on the TDI is a Wave 1 breakout move but it has to be countered with a Wave 2 back to form the final bottom on your chart.
But, I've been wrong before...LOL!
Based on what I see right now, any news today and maybe tomorrow will be deemed as bad for the US dollar and dollar pairs like UJ and USD/DKK are going to drop, regardless of whether the news is good or bad...it will likely be interpreted as bad causing folks to sell dollars one more time.
Added USD/DKK short at 6.6839.
Short UJ at 112.71, TP set for 1.11.
It's a fun pair for sure Jav. If you've got the time and patience to trade the weekly and monthly charts like Ticket does, it can make you some good money.
Headed there myself. Have a good one, Jav.
Actually Jav, I just decided to take a few pips profit on each one of those pairs I just posted. I went back and looked at the lower time frames and realized they both have near term bounce potential. I'll post the NJ chart in just a sec for you though to show you what I'm seeing.
Shorting NU at 0.66972, TP set for 0.6260.
Shorting NJ at 75.533, TP set at 71.50.
Took the EA longs off the table and one AU short. ADR is getting pretty high but I still expect more movement in the same direction for a while. Might as well book some pips and wait. This is only Wave 3 down on the daily on AU. Once we get Wave 4 completed, the next drop will be really nice.
Added back the EA long I closed this morning at 1.48547. Might be a retrace coming but the bullish push forward off of the Wave 4 lows says the TP I have at 1.5050 should get hit easily.
I went ahead and cut it loose for a few pips profit, Qui. It's based at the 61.8 but I suspect there might be one more lower low before it moves back up. I'm just gonna wait and look at it later. No hurry on this one.
I don't really worry about the pip count on that one. It's really no more volatile than any other pair. Just have to compensate risk accordingly and treat it like you would any other setup.
Long on GU for a bit here at 1.4110. Not gonna hold it very long but the lower time frames show it's likely to bounce a bit here.
I still think it's setting up for a nice topside run but there's room for one more pullback before it does. After that, I'll look for longs again.
Closed out my last USD/DKK long for a bit of profit...not much though. I can't tell for sure yet how the Euro is going to respond in this next downturn vs. how AU and EA are going to move. The EU pair could still gain ground so USD/DKK longs aren't as warranted here as AU shorts and EA longs.
LOL! No, that was just an example I was giving to Qui...it was just a number I grabbed out of my head.
Honestly, I never know for sure what I'm going to make from day to day or week to week. But year to year, I do well enough I suppose.
The best single day I think I've ever had was about 5 grand. And of course, I was playing entirely too heavy on the entry...LOL!
LOL! Yep, gotta get some pips somewhere. Da babies say they're hungry...LOL!
Nah, my wife came in from work for lunch and I decided to check over the charts again. EA is looking good for a pop soon so I figured why not chunk some more money at it...LOL!
Seeing more TA analysts come out with this view now...

Looks like UJ is gonna nail that 112.30 TP I had in mind at first after all.
Oh well...no regrets...profit is profit. It figures the market would wait till this late in the day to start moving.
TP on UJ finally hit...wayoo...yeehaw...yawn...I'm bored...LOL! Gonna go catch a nap or something.
Everybody have a good one.
Yep, as expected. They needed to move it up again. I don't know that it will make a higher high but it's still possible.
