Does not look good! They have the U.S. Patent so what is the hold up on going after the infringers?
Some interesting action today with a block of 19,000 shares traded. Is it too much for me to think that a PR may be forthcoming? The total volume was low however.
Buying Christmas gifts
max2205:
It sure would be nice if we get a PR soon!
Tounces:
You point about end of the year tax loss selling is a very good point!
max2005:
I agree with you. I have thought about this a bunch since they announced the granting of the patent and I agree that there is the potential that a lot of money is involved; however, I don't understanding how other companies, like you posted, can do a PR identifing companies that are infringing prior to the actual filing of any litigation but WLGC either can't or won't make such an announcement. Additionally, if WLGC's management were so sure that they would received the patent why is it that the upfront legal work had not already been done in the last 3, 6, or 9 months to enable immediate filing of the litiation a week or so after they received the patent? Is is possible that it is a finance problem that WLGC does not currently have the money to fund the legal team to start the infringement legal process? If their patent is so strong a reasonable person would think that the company would have people banging on their door to lend them some money. Your comments/opinions please. Thanks, Retired Navy
Geeezzzz I'm getting killed in this stock and I don't expect any significant PR until 2008. Oh well I am going to hang with it!
max2205: Darn we just can't get an acceptable run-up here. Come on max put in an order to buy another 250,000 shares and drive this stock price up for us. Heck max someone needs to start the upside run. Sincerely, RN
Here is hoping since I recently increased my position by 60%
Boy did I ever bite the bullet! Bought more at $1.95, $1.97 and $2.10 recently and the stock closes at $1.76 Geeezzzz! Was yesterday end of the year tax loss selling? At least it went down on low volume rather than high volume which would be a bad sign.
Yep...just need a little weakness and I will get some more.
I tried to buy some more shares today at <$2.00 but was only able to get 4,500 shares. Guess that no one wants to sell <$2.00. Oh well maybe there will be some tax loss selling mid to late December at <$2.00 and I can put up some more then.
Yep I liked the upside move today but was not really happy with the volume....but heck up is up and I like up.
Big block 76,100 shares traded at the bid just before the close. Must have been an arranged sale to trade in a block at the close like this.
Tounces: I think that it is possible that the initial research may have been done (e.g. identifing companies that are infringing), but what law firm is going to spend a lot of time on this before they actually have the patent? Why would WLGC pay a law firm to do pre-settlement work before they have the patent expecially when the company never did have a lot of funds. Remember ladies/gentlemen how long it took for WLGC to get a settlement from HP? Unfortunately for us stockholders these legal matters don't go as fast as we all would like. I still think that many many very large companies are in WLGC's space to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars but I just don't see the settlements occuring rapidly.
Tounces: Thank you. I don't like this situation any more then the rest of the stockholders do! I am just trying to be a realists and put my self in Frank's shoes to get the highest settlement for the stockholders that I could and secret at least initially seems like the way to go to me.
max2205: IMO With the hundreds of millions of dollars that we are talking for a settlement (e.g. Apple, Blackberry, Garmin, Tom/Tom, Motorola, etc.) I doubt very seriously that we will see and infringement PR until after a settlement contract has been signed or litigation filed with a court. IMO Secret letters, and secret meetings would be a better avenue for success with some of these large companies rather than putting them on the spot early with a WLGC PR. Now this is not saying that I like this as a stockholder but I think that settlement talks would go better in private at least initially. Heck Max what kind of attitude would RIMM - Blackberry have if the first thing they see/hear is a WLGC PR about RIMM being in WLGC's space without WLGC first giving RIMM a secret/private opportunity to reach a settlement first.
It looks like the investment community was not impressed with today's PR. Geeezzzzz I sure would like this stock to go up!
max2205: Yep my reply is I want to see a PR that the company is agressively going after the many that are infringing on the patent. The PR example that you previously posted is an excellent PR so why is it that WLGC had not made such a PR? If the company waits for the other patents to be issued and if this takes months and months I expect further weakness in the stock price. Comments?
In my opinion, repeat opinion, I don't expect any Press Release in the near future because; if we are correct, there is a lot of money involved. Therefore, a reasonable person would think that WLGC would give any company 45 to 60 days to respond to the letter of infringement, then maybe meetings upon meetings for a possible settlement and only after a settlement contract is signed would their be a material impact on both companies requiring a Press Release. If no settlement after the 60 days and meetings upon meetings then no Press Release until the litigation is filed with a court. Other opinions/comments are always welcome.
max2205:
yep lots and lots of RIMM dollars!
My Blackberry has the same thing.
I purchased their software for my administrative staff to use and my Purchasing Supervisor will not use a computer without their software because it is such a time saver so I stayed in the stock. The patent infringement aspect is just a big big bonus. IMO the reason that the company has not sold more of their software is because the potential customers were concerned that the company would not be in business long with the sales history, balance sheet, and price of the stock. Also IMO the company needs to put out a strongly worded PR when they get the patent and then immediately or very soon thereafter start to go after the many companies that are infringing on the patent....if they drag there feet on going after these many companies the price of the stock will weaken.
I agree completely because there is too little common float. I also think that he needs to keep the share price above $5.00 post split so the funds can purchase the stock, many funds are not allowed to purchase stock under $5.00.
Looks like some people wanted to get in bad before a possible patent granted announcement next week. Good luck to all longs and fry fry fry shorts. You all have a nice weekend!
The Annual BOD's Meeting for the company that I work for....not a WLGC meeting.
Tounces:
Nope. Nice PR next week after patent issue on the 6th I hope, I hope. I will be in the annual Board of Directors meeting Nov 6, 7, and 8th so I will have to rely on my Blackberry during breaks to see what WLGC stock is doing.
max2205:
My guess repeat guess would be to load up on November 5th, one day before issue of the patent and hope for a PR on the 6th or 7th for the start of a long and profitable run up for us all.
Where did everyone go?
ScobbyDo2:
I agree. I think that TA works better on NYSE and NASDAQ National Market Stocks. Hopefully not too much longer before some PR's from WLGC to toast the shorts.
Sincerely, RetiredNavy (Long WLGC)
I do not expect a Press Release about getting the Patent until after November 6th, or after the company has the actual Patent Granted documents from the U.S. Patent Office in their hands. I have nothing to base this on other than my opinion.
I bought 5 licenses directly from the company and if I remember correctly they were $79.00 or $99.00 each. Can't remember exactly since it has been so long ago.
Tounces: I purchased several licenses for their product for my company administrave staff to use and my Purchasing Supervisor will not use a computer unless WLGC's product is installed. It works great on M/S word, excel, internet, email, etc. etc. It is a such a time saver (according to my administrative employees) that I don't understand why more businesses are not useing it since time is money to any business. In responce to another poster....this is already the best forum for an exchange of dialogue about WLGC...all of the other on-line forums only have a few posts. Yep this forum will get busy as the PR's hit the street.
At the highest point I had 90,000 shares and I have sold some to take some profits but I will keep all of the shares that I have left because in my opinion there is a potential for this stock to go higher, a lot higher that will amaze Wall Street, unless the company is bought out first which I also think is a real possibility.
I have been a stockholder since 2003 with a significant position and finally some action in this stock. It has been a long road but I agree with the members here that there is a lot of upside potential. Extremely low float ~7 million shares, extremely low common ~30 million shares, so if this company is what I think it is forward stock splits may also be possible. Not many have this stock on their radar screen and I thank a member here for posting on another financial website to come here for an exchange of dialogue regarding WLGC. My DD over the years and in my opinion is that everyone is in WLGC space; Google with their "Did You Mean" when you do a search, cellular telephones, vehicle navigation systems, my Blackberry, Apple "I-Phone", etc. etc. In my opinion this could be big...real big. Good luck to all with your WLGC investment. Sincerely RetiredNavy.
