Caitlyn Jenner on O.J. Simpson Death: ‘Good Riddance’
ALANA MASTRANGELO 11 Apr 2024 1:50
(No argument here.)
Caitlyn Jenner reacted to the death of former NFL running back and accused murderer O.J. Simpson by taking to social media to write, “Good Riddance.”
“Good Riddance #OJSimpson,” Jenner wrote in a Thursday X/Twitter post.
As Breitbart News reported, Simpson died on Wednesday at the age of 76 following a long battle with cancer.
His family made the announcement in a Thursday X/Twitter post, writing, in part, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.”
Simpson made headlines in February when it was announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Reports also suggested he had entered hospice care while receiving chemotherapy treatment. The ex-NFL football player then took to social media to insist that he was not in “hospice.”
Jenner is not the only one to react to Simpson’s death in this way.
Similarly, Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, who was murdered alongside Nicole Brown Simpson in June of 1994, said Thursday that Simpson’s passing is “No great loss to the world.”
“The only thing I have to say is it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years,” Goldman told NBC reporter Daniel Arkin. “It’s no great loss to the world. It’s a further reminder of Ron’s being gone.”
“Fred Goldman outlived O.J.,” one X/Twitter user noted, adding, “At least Fred and Kim can finally live in a world knowing O.J. isn’t in it.”

Trillions of cicadas to swarm U.S.; first double-brood emergence in 200 years
Brood 13, which emerges every 17 years, and Brood 19, which emerges every 13, will join together for the first time since 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was president.
By Ehren Wynder Published Apr 7, 2024 8:16 AM EDT | Updated Apr 7, 2024 8:16 AM EDT
Billions of cicadas are expected to emerge this spring
The cicadas will be seen in at least a dozen states in a rare double-brood event.
(Figures they'd reemerge to commemorate Presidementia's reign. Pictures and video at the link. Ick.)
April 6 (UPI) -- A rare double-emergence of cicada broods is about to swarm the eastern United States in the coming weeks, scientists say.
Brood 13, which emerges every 17 years, and Brood 19, which emerges every 13, will join together for the first time since 1803, when Thomas Jefferson was president.
Illinois will be ground zero for this historic emergence, which is expected to sweep through about a dozen other states.
Cicadas, known for their loud chirping and tendency to leave behind mounds of exoskeletons, tend to surface around April or May to reproduce before disappearing again.
There are 15 "periodical" cicada broods in the United States, three of which emerge every 13 years and the rest every 17.
Cicada Broods 13 and 19 are expected to emerge together for the first time in over 200 years. Thomas Jefferson was president the last time these broods co-emerged. (File Photo by Shawn Thew/EPA-EFE)
The cicadas from Broods 13 and 19 are of a similar size, growing to about 1.4 inches, but other broods can double that and have up to an eight-inch wingspan.
Entomologist Meredith Shrader at Auburn University said central and northern Alabama can expect "millions and millions" of cicadas for about six to eight weeks.
"Everybody's getting really, really excited," Shrader told Al.com. "Some people are dreading it, but it'll be fun."
Dr. Katie Dana, an entomologist and cicada expert from Illinois, said she's been looking forward to this year's co-emergence for many years.
"I've been trying to spread the word -- people haven't listened until this year," she told The Independent.
The area with the greatest likelihood of overlap between the two broods is in Springfield, Ill. Shrader said the "bug geeks" are looking forward to seeing whether the two broods will hybridize during mating season.
While the two broods are not expected to overlap to any significant extent, research from the University of Connecticut suggests if the two did produce hybrid offspring, they would emerge alongside the next generation of one or both of their parent broods and be indistinguishable from them.
While some people might dread the oncoming swarm and the damage to their ornamental plants, people in academia are embracing it as a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon.
One professor in Ohio created a free app, called Cicada Safari, for users to upload pictures and track where cicadas are emerging with the highest density.
While its hard to imagine cicadas being a threatened species, scientists warned of the possible effects of climate change on their population.
Dana said cicadas ensure their survival by producing so many offspring that their vast numbers overwhelm natural predators like birds, snakes and mammals, but even a small dip in a brood's emergent population due to high temperatures or deforestation could cause predators to wipe them out entirely.
Sorry... Sounds like a good deal to me. These bugs are beyond gross.

New video adds twist to controversial Iowa-UConn March Madness foul: ‘Not even a debate’
By Ryan Glasspiegel Published April 6, 2024, 9:42 a.m. ET
Another angle of the controversial foul call on UConn’s Aaliyah Edwards in the final seconds of the Huskies’ Final Four loss to Iowa changed some people’s opinions to believing the whistle was deserved.
Edwards was called for a moving screen on Hawkeyes guard Gabbie Marshall with just 3.9 seconds remaining as UConn trailed Iowa, 70-69, and the team was attempting to set up a final shot for star guard Paige Bueckers.
Some viewers initially thought this was an atrocious call and thus a grave injustice for a UConn team that scratched and clawed to not only get onto the stage with Caitlin Clark but also was on the precipice of a March Madness championship matchup with Dawn Staley’s South Carolina team.

Left Tears into Hillary’s ‘Get Over Yourself’ Demand to Voters: ‘Tonally Off-Sync,’ ‘Borderline Scornful’
NICK GILBERTSON 5 Apr 2024 6:02
(Hill-Hill is an equal opportunity insulter. The Old Bag probably still doesn't understand why she lost in 2016.)
Twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has ignited a firestorm from the left after telling voters who are complaining of a rematch between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden to “get over yourself.”
Clinton’s comment came during an appearance on The Tonight Show with host Jimmy Fallon on Monday.
When asked about US voters upset with the choice between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton says:

Poll: Donald Trump Within Single-Digits of Joe Biden in Blue New Jersey
HANNAH KNUDSEN 5 Apr 2024 3:02
(From the comments: The perfect alias for Biden... Presidementia.
Wish I had thought of it first, but that won't stop me from using it.)
Former President Donald Trump is within single digits of President Joe Biden in blue New Jersey, the latest survey from Emerson College Polling/PIX11/the Hill found.
The survey asked respondents, “In a hypothetical 2024 Presidential match-up between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who would you vote for at this time?”
Less than a majority, 46 percent, said they would vote for Biden, followed by 39 percent who said they would support Trump. This puts Biden’s lead in the single digits in New Jersey — a difference of seven percentage points between the two. Another 15 percent remained undecided.
Biden’s lead shrinks even further when third-party candidates are thrown into the mix. In that scenario, 41 percent support Biden, followed by 36 percent who support Trump — a difference of five percentage points. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. comes in third place with eight percent support, followed by one percent for Cornel West and one percent for Jill Stein. Another 14 percent remain undecided.
As is consistent with voters in other states, a plurality of respondents, 39 percent, identify the economy — jobs, inflation, and taxes — as the most important issue facing New Jersey. Another ten percent identify immigration as the most important issue facing the state. Both of those issues are strong suits for the former president. Another 12 percent say housing affordability, 11 percent say threats to democracy, seven percent say healthcare, seven percent say crime, and five percent say education is the most important issue facing the Garden State:

Chicago alderman’s ‘cancel DNC’ calls in front of burnt American flag spark criticism after veteran’s fiery protest
Story by Jake Sheridan, Chicago Tribune • 1w •
1968 revisited???
CHICAGO — The charred white stars and blackened, red stripes were all that remained of a burnt American flag on the sidewalk as Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez, 25th, spoke Friday evening during a protest outside City Hall.
The fact Sigcho-Lopez — a progressive ally of Mayor Brandon Johnson who has called for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago to be canceled and criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas — attended the rally wasn’t much of a surprise.
But his appearance with the scorched flag that protesters said was once flown during a military tour in Afghanistan by a veteran who burned it Friday to protest Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza has since incensed several of the alderman’s council colleagues. When pictures of Sigcho-Lopez speaking in front of the charred flag were spotted online, several aldermen harshly criticized him on social media over the weekend and have since said they may even consider a council censure vote.
Sigcho-Lopez “is anti-American and divisive as can be,” Ald. Scott Waguespack wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, Saturday. “While burning and desecrating our country’s flag is not illegal, it is his right to be despicable and on par for him.”
But since the weekend flap, Sigcho-Lopez has said he wasn’t at the protest when the flag was burned and he’s panned his critics as “reactionary voices.” Social media posts that suggested he burned the flag himself are “misinformation,” he said.
“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Sigcho-Lopez said Monday following an unrelated news conference in Pilsen.
Video footage of the Gaza-focused rally outside City Hall shows a man setting fire to the American flag and, later, military medals. Protesters also called for the Democratic National Convention to be canceled. Sigcho-Lopez does not appear in those videos.
The man who burned the flag, later identified by the protest’s organizers as Zachary Kam, said he flew it while on tour as a Marine in Afghanistan.
“Let it burn, because whatever values it might have stood for before are clearly absent from those who run this country,” he told the crowd as flames reduced the flag to threads and ash.
Earlier this week, Sigcho-Lopez read a statement he attributed to Kam. The outspoken alderman, who has marked his support for Gazans in past council meetings, joined the protest to criticize the Democratic Party’s failure to take a clear stance calling on the federal government to do more to support efforts by Chicago and other cities to deal with the ongoing migrant crisis.
He also echoed calls for the city to cancel the Democratic National Convention, citing the potential it has to heighten Chicago’s migrant crisis if Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ramps up migrant busloads.
“I wasn’t aware that this had happened before I was there,” Sigcho-Lopez said of the flag burning, despite the fact that the burnt flag can be seen in photos from the rally resting just feet in front of him as he spoke. “I hope that we have the same eagerness to condemn genocide, to condemn the lack of support to immigrant communities.”
When asked if he supported the flag burning, the alderman avoided criticizing the veteran’s act and said he did not know the protest’s organizers had approved the burning.
“This is his First Amendment right. Some of my colleagues were questioning the First Amendment right,” he said. “I wasn’t there. I wasn’t a witness of it.”
Ald. Gilbert Villegas, 36th, a Marine combat veteran, said that even though flag burning is legal, the actions taken Friday weren’t right.
“He has the right to do that, but we also have the right to question and critique folks who do that ourselves,” Villegas said.
Sigcho-Lopez should have been more aware of where he was speaking and be willing to apologize afterward, Villegas said. He also should not actively oppose the DNC, which the vast majority of aldermen are excited about and view as an opportunity to show off Chicago to national and international visitors and viewers on television, Villegas added.
“He’s an elected official in the United States of America. We are held to higher standards,” Villegas said.
Sigcho-Lopez and Villegas spoke after Villegas publicly criticized Sigcho-Lopez on social media, Villegas said, but the conversation ended quickly after their disagreements continued.
Marine and Army National Guard veteran Ald. Chris Taliaferro, 29th, said he was in “disbelief” when he saw the images of the flag smoldering in front of City Hall. He wants to hear Sigcho-Lopez explain what happened and is considering pushing for a special full City Council meeting and a censure vote, he said.
Aldermen came close to censuring Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, 35th, in November after Ramirez-Rosa was accused of bullying and threatening colleagues while he was chairman of the council’s Zoning Committee. The controversy caused Ramirez-Rosa to lose his chairmanship but Johnson cast the tie-breaking vote to save Ramirez-Rosa, a close ally, from the symbolic dishonor.
“It flies in the face of those that have served this country and defended this country under a flag that stands for democracy and freedom,” Taliaferro said. “I respect the way he advocates for his community and for people in the city, but sometimes things can be taken too far.”

Our governor activated our emergency systems.
Maybe I should check outside.
And I thought nothing ever happens out here in Bug Boink USA.
Thanks, Gmenfan. That was wild. No damage in the house. I'll check outside later.
Hmmm... I wonder how much earthquake insurance is?
Did you feel anything? I think the epicenter was near Lebanon nj.
Might have been too far south and east of you to have any effect.
Stay steady.
omg ! ! ! So that's what that was.
I felt and heard that sucker.
I thought it was a heavy truck or some other kind of heavy equipment operating in the area.
Holy cow.
Thanks for the info Larry.
Girl power. Morning, Larry.
Morning, Mr. G. You got that right. I've had two people I love and respect tell me the problem is the border states sending the illegals north. Usually I keep my mouth shut but not anymore over this issue. The problem is offering sanctuary to the filth that's pouring in here. (I phrase it more diplomatically.) These cities are laying down the welcome mat. Let them deal with it. Last I checked, Texas is not a sanctuary state nor does it have any sanctuary cities (that I know of). If these damn demorrhoids refuse to revoke the sanctuary status and put pressure on the Low Life in Chief to close the border, let them take care of the detritus flowing into their domains. Not that I have strong feelings about any of this.
Howdy, Mr. Upstater. Hope you were spared participation in the wintry mess raging through New England.
I'm dealing with a lot of run off and a wet basement.
Trying to get it together to get a new spark plug for Motilda.
We'll be waltzing when things dry out around here.
Oh, joy. It's that time of year again.
Have a good one. Enjoy the sunshine if you have it.
Denver Official Seen Telling New Migrants to Leave, ‘New York Gives You More. Chicago Gives You More’
WARNER TODD HUSTON 3 Apr 2024 3:13
Denver’s recently appointed “Newcomer Communications Liaison,” Andres Carrera, was caught on video pleading with newly arrived illegal aliens to turn around and leave the city immediately because the “opportunities are over” in the welcoming city of Denver.
Carrera, who moved into Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s administration from the administration of Democrat Gov. Jared Polis last year, is seen warning migrants, who arrived in the city on March 26, that there is nothing for them in Denver and that they should quickly move on to New York City or Chicago, where they can “get more.”
In the video, Carrera tells migrants in Spanish, “The opportunities are over,” Denver News 9 reported Saturday.

WSJ: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John Fetterman’s Israel Support Makes Them ‘Political Gadflies’ to the Left
NICK GILBERTSON 2 Apr 2024 4:22
(Crazy world. I'm on their side when it comes to supporting Israel.
I'm starting to pay attention to Fetterman -- he's making sense on this issue..)
Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, who defected from the Democrat Party in 2023, and Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-PA) support of Israel make them “political gadflies” to today’s left, points out the Wall Street Journal’s William McGurn, as an anti-Israel posture has gained popularity among Democrats.
McGurn analyzed Kennedy Jr. and Fetterman’s pro-Israel posture in contrast to increasingly mainstream pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel views on the modern left in an opinion article published Monday:
Each is a man of the left, which has become increasingly hostile to Israel. Pressure from the left has led both President Biden and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) to temper support for Israel with unprecedented public criticism of the country’s elected government and its war effort. The criticisms are striking because they come on the eve of an offensive in Rafah that Israel deems essential to root out the Hamas leadership and destroy its ability to inflict another attack like Oct. 7.
Messrs. Fetterman and Kennedy might have been expected to succumb to progressive pressure. But they didn’t. The question for a post-Joe Lieberman Democratic Party is whether the Fetterman-Kennedy resistance marks a restoration of support for Israel to its place in American liberalism—or a dying last gasp.
The far-left wing of the party has repeatedly issued demands for a ceasefire, marked by widespread demonstrations and protests, including at President Joe Biden’s glitzy and elitist fundraiser in New York City on Thursday night.
While Biden and other establishment, career-politician Democrats have engaged in an anti-Israel drift in attempts to walk a political tightrope on the massive division among their constituency, McGurn points out that Fetterman and Kennedy Jr.’s vocal support for Israel was a conventional view in the party not long ago:
It’s telling that the Fetterman/Kennedy position today makes them political gadflies. A generation ago, they would have been mainstream liberals firmly in the Democratic orbit. Then again, Lieberman lost his last Democratic primary to a candidate who ran to his left on foreign policy, and he died promoting the centrist No Labels party.
Fetterman, a freshman, ran as a “progressive” populist candidate in 2022 and surprised many with his championing of Israel — as Breitbart News Senior Editor Joel Pollak noted — and its right to defend itself following the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks that slaughtered 1,200 Israelis.
On March 25, Vice President Kamala Harris told ABC News that “any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake.”
Fetterman quickly undermined the vice president’s position, tweeting, “Hard disagree.”
“Israel has the right to prosecute Hamas to surrender or to be eliminated,” he added. “Hamas owns every innocent death for their cowardice hiding behind Palestinian lives.”
In January, pro-Palestinian protestors targeted Fetterman’s Braddock, Pennsylvania, home, with the crowd chanting, “Fetterman, Fetterman, you can’t hide; you’re supporting genocide.”
Fetterman responded by taking to his rooftop and waving the Israeli flag.
Kennedy Jr.’s ardent support for the Jewish State has been on full display as well. In an interview conducted by Reuters and published by the Jerusalem Post in late March, he called Israel a “moral nation,” arguing other nations would “level” a terrorist adversary “with aerial bombardment.”
Kennedy said:
Any other nation that was adjacent to a neighboring nation that was bombing it with rockets, sending commandos over to murder its citizens, pledging itself to murder every person in that nation and annihilate it, would go and level it with aerial bombardment.
“But Israel is a moral nation. So it didn’t do that. Instead, it built an iron dome to protect itself so it would not have to go into Gaza,” he continued, adding that Hamas’s attacks did not leave Israel with a choice.

Tax stuff is done for the year.
Now to see if my certified mailings will have a tracking history

Won't hold my breath.
I'll know the Feds got my form when the check clears.
As for nj, I'll just have to wait for the checks to arrive.
At least I have date-stamped receipts to prove they were mailed before the 15th.
Hope the day is treating you well.
No complaints on this end.
I wouldn't worry about Kunstler's prediction, Mr. G.
As soon as I got to the second-third paragraphs, I hit the next button.
He's been predicting the catastrophic collapse of the financial markets for as long as I've been reading him.
Hasn't happened yet.
As far as the shot goes, I know a lot of people who've gotten them.
So far, we're all in great shape for the shape we're in.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion though.
If thinking they're superior and smarter than those who got the shot... so be it.
Interesting theory, Mr. G. You could have a valid point there.
I like most of his messages and he strikes me as being intelligent.
Maybe he's running to get his POV out there.
I'm confident that the votes he pulls will be from the left.
Trump should send him a thank you note when the dust settles.
Just finished my third and final errand of the day.
Fed & nj tax returns are in the mail as is my Sr. Property Tax Relief form.
Had a new twist to deal with. Wonder if I got the instructions right. lol
If I blew it, I'm sure the good folks manning the government bloodsucker corps will let me know.
Rain? Yep. Getting a ton of it.
I'm afraid to look in the basement.
How are you folks doing?
Dreary day, but hey... we're not shoveling.
Hunter Biden Defeated in Attempt to Throw Out Tax Case
SIMON KENT 2 Apr 2024 2:25
Hunter Biden’s attempt to have all his tax charges thrown out was defeated Monday, letting the criminal case against him move forward.
A federal judge in California decided against the younger Biden, The Hill reports.
The decision confirms Biden faces three felony charges and six misdemeanor charges in connection to tax evasion, filing a false return and failing to pay taxes between 2016 and 2019.
Biden has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His attorneys argued last month the case was politically motivated and tainted by two IRS agents who later became whistleblowers, as Breitbart News reported.
The president’s son filed eight separate motions to dismiss the charges, citing different legal rationale for each including immunity claimed from a previous plea deal he had negotiated, all of which were denied.
U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi determined the case was not political, sidelining Biden’s main argument by noting Biden’s attorneys did not provide evidence for the claim.
“The motion is remarkable in that it fails to include a single declaration, exhibit, or request for judicial notice,” he wrote. “Instead, Defendant cites portions of various Internet news sources, social media posts, and legal blogs. These citations, however, are not evidence.”
Scarsi added the sources, mostly media reports about the case, “contain multiple levels of hearsay.”
The Hill report sets out the judge similarly threw out Biden’s claim of selective and vindictive prosecution.
“Defendant fails to present a reasonable inference, let alone clear evidence, of discriminatory effect and discriminatory purpose,” Scarsi wrote.
“Accordingly, the selective prosecution claim fails.”
Hunter Biden could face a maximum of 17 years in prison if convicted. In total, the president’s son faces 42 years in federal prison for the nine tax and three gun charges.
He was indicted for gun violations in Delaware which he pleaded not guilty to while he remains a key witness in the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

RFK Jr. Says Biden ‘Much Worse Threat to Democracy’ Than Trump
HANNAH KNUDSEN 2 Apr 2024 4:19
(I like so many things I've heard him say. Breaks my heart he chose Shanhai Lil as his running mate.
Txeets & pictures at the link.)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democrat turned independent running for president in 2024 as a third party candidate, said the argument can be made President Joe Biden is a “much worse threat to democracy” than former President Donald Trump.
Kennedy made the remark during an appearance on CNN’s Outfront with Erin Burnett, who asked, “A moment ago, you said you essentially see Trump and Biden as the same, different issues, but do you really believe that?”
“When people talk about the threats of democracy that Trump poses, do you really think that is as equal — equal to Biden?” she pressed.
In turn, Kennedy responded by stating, “I can make the argument that President Biden is a much worse threat to democracy,” pointing to the fact that Biden, 81, has weaponized federal agencies, using them to censor his political opponent.
RFK Jr. said:
And the reason for that is President Biden is the first candidate in history, the first president in history that has used the federal agencies to censor political speech, so to censor his opponent. I can say that because I just won a case in the federal Court of Appeals and now before the Supreme Court that shows that he started censoring not just me — 37 hours after he took the oath of office, he was censoring me.
“No president in the country has ever done that,” Kennedy continued, explaining that “the greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns, but a president of the United States who uses the power of his office to force the social media companies, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to open a portal and give access to that portal to the FBI, to the CIA, to the IRS, to CISA, to NIH to censor his political critics.”
“President Biden, the first president in history, used the Secret — his power over the Secret Service to deny Secret Service protection to one of his political opponents for political reasons,” Kennedy continued, concluding that Biden is “weaponizing the federal agencies.”
“Those are really critical threats to democracy,” he added.
But Burnett pressed Kennedy after he did not identify Trump as a bigger threat to democracy — a favorite narrative of the left.
“Donald Trump, of course, tried to overturn a free and fair election. He tried to overturn one, right? He’s still fighting in court,” she said, adding, “How is that not a threat to democracy?”
“Well, I think that is a threat to democracy if he — him overthrowing — trying to overthrow the election clearly is a threat to democracy,” Kennedy said, sticking by his original assessment that Biden is a worse threat to democracy.
He said:
But the question was, who is the worst threat to democracy? And what I would say is, I — I’m not going to answer that question, but I can argue that President Biden is, because the First Amendment, Erin, is the most important. But Adams and Hamilton and Madison said, we put the guarantee of freedom of expression in the First Amendment because all of our other constitutional rights depend on it. … If you have a government that can silence its opponent, it has license for any atrocity.
“So, just to be clear, you’re saying you could make an argument that President Biden is a worse threat to democracy than Donald Trump?” Burnett asked again.
“Absolutely,” Kennedy added, emphasizing that weaponizing federal agencies is abhorrent.

After Blasphemous Biden's "proclamation," I no longer have a choice when it comes to voting.
Looks like I'll be pulling the trigger for Trump when I get in the voting booth Nov. 5th.
(I'll abstain from voting for president in the nj primary -- it won't matter then.)
I believe today is the White House Easter Egg Hunt.
Fingers crossed the parents have the good sense to boycott it.
No telling what kind of twisted freaks will be attendance celebrating mutilation.
I am sickened and disgusted. What's the old saying...

(This stupid mf must d*i*e. omg How f'ing low can you go?
I'd like to see the reaction if he did this on the first day of Ramadan.)
President Joe Biden’s White House has declared the holiest of Christian holidays “Transgender Day of Visibility,” announcing that “transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our nation.”
Biden issued an official proclamation on Good Friday, reading, “We honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives.”
The official proclamation continued:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
Biden’s chosen day for the inaugural celebration is Easter Sunday — a day on which, even Biden, who discusses his Catholic faith often, celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
