BGP 0.45, +0.05, +12.5%) said Monday it has named Wildridge Capital Management founder Ron Marshall to be its new president and chief executive officer, replacing George Jones, effective immediately. The company cited Marshall's work helping "drive a turnaround of $4 billion supermarket retailer Pathmark Stores Inc." The new CEO will receive an employee inducement award and other incentives amounting to 2 million shares in stock options. The move is part of a wider management shake-up announced Monday, with Mark Bierley to replace 15-year Borders veteran Ed Wilhelm as chief financial officer. At the same time, Borders said it had received notification from the New York Stock Exchange that its average closing share price has been below $1 for more than 30 trading days, which the company now has six months to remedy. Its market capitalization is also approaching the NYSE's minimum of $25 million, a requirement that does not allow for any remedy period. End of Story
