CONGRATS JOEY on SRZ!
SOLD SQNM @ 3.74 Try and get it back on a flip.
IMO, and this is why I am taking the gamble is that they have acknowledged a crisis, seeking funding / help, and they have not dropped that bad. Alot of company's are merging so I am tking a chance of a buy out offer being thrown at them!
Yeah, I own a HUGE gamble! I am in the mood for a few of these plays lol, I am all good Mt. Blanc hehehe
I think this will run into next week sometime. Going to be alot of PR's in regards to SQNM and I think they will atleast recover half of there PPS
I bought more on the drop 1.52 and 1.445
I know, the second I change up and get greedy, it will bite me hard.
1.40 Would be my price to get back in and I do have a order set for 7500 shares ;) Been looking at it all morning.
My brain is being picked, Well I was wrong before on this one, it did run up but we expected more then where it landed and retraced and now we are sitting between 1.45 and 1.55. If the stress tests on the Financial Area of the market are favorable in most areas with little set backs I can see this one moving up $2.50 (I feel positive results are coming) Now if there is alot of negative set backs on the stress tests, expect this one to drop with a few others. The chart is holding well under the circumstances and if I were still in it I would hold and wait for atleast a $2.00 trip soon. When? Not sure, but soon.
SQNM 3.94 HOD Current 3.91 GO BABY GO!!!!
New investors like the price tag on this one and they are buying in like we did!
Hell, G-Suit and F-15 joey, kick the afterburners in and go straight up!!!!! What a rush it would be!
Dont say that lmao, then I would be kicking me - self again for selling to early. I am happy, a gain on this finally is a gain.
The IBox is great, straight to the point as well, none of that crap I see on alot of the other boards trying to bolster BS stocks. You the man Lon!!!
CAN YOU SAY HEY HEY HEY! SQNM!
LOL, your charts are not showing the technicals patterns. Take a real good look at the chart in the IBOX vs yours. Any chart is a good chart, however, the MA's, STO's, The PPO can help guide you better in the direction it might take.
Bought ETFC @ 1.65, 1.66, 1.67
Out of LAB @ 4.08
DJ US HOT STOCKS: Sequenom, MGM, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters
U.S. stocks rose Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average recently rose 1.1% to 8278, the Standard & Poor's 500 gained 1.3% to 885 and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 1.9% to 1744. Among the companies with shares actively trading the session are Sequenom Inc. (SQNM), MGM Mirage (MGM) and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (GMCR, $73.19, +$20.46, +38.80%).
Sequenom (SQNM, $3.60, -$11.31, -75.86%) shares plunged after the company said it delayed the launch of a test for Down's syndrome because of employee mishandling of test data and results. The company also reported its first-quarter net loss widened on higher expenses and costs related to the planned launch of prenatal tests. Following the news, JMP Securities said "Sequenom's tenuous credibility has evaporated" and restoring it "could prove to be a long and treacherous road."
MGM's (MGM, $9.26, +$3.08, +49.84%) City Center, the $8 billion-plus resort under construction in Las Vegas, won a crucial victory Wednesday when its lenders and owners struck a deal that guarantees the project will be finished. The agreement comes just weeks after the project, owned jointly by casino giant MGM and Persian Gulf investment arm Dubai World, was on the verge of filing for bankruptcy protection and embroiled in a lawsuit.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR, $73.19, +$20.46, +38.80%) shares climbed after the company reported fiscal second-quarter results that easily topped Wall Street estimates and said Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT, $50.20, -$0.25, -0.50%) will carry some of its Keurig gourmet single-cup coffee brewers and K-Cup portion packs. The company boosted its fiscal-year view and forecast strong fiscal third-quarter results.
Patriot Coal Corp. (PCX, $6.28, +$0.86, +15.87%) swung to a first-quarter profit, beating expectations as the coal company's cost-cutting plan began taking effect.
First Solar Inc.'s (FSLR, $179.45, +$27.78, +18.32%) first-quarter net income more than tripled as the solar power module maker reported surging revenue and margins. Results easily beat analysts' estimates.
Dow Chemical Co. (DOW, $15.93, +$2.42, +17.91%) reported a small but unexpected first-quarter profit, as cost cutting and a steep drop in feedstock prices helped it offset slumping demand for chemicals.
Ashland Inc.'s (ASH, $22.10, +$2.85, +14.82%) fiscal second-quarter net income fell by one-third as demand for chemical products continued to steeply decline. Chairman and Chief Executive James O'Brien said the company was "encouraged" by the results "in light of the significantly depressed demand environment."
Owens-Illinois Inc. (OI, $22.94, +$4.48, +24.27%) shattered the Street's first-quarter per-share earnings expectations despite falling short on revenue. Owens-Illinois said shipments fell because of environment, but that price hikes saved it. The company added shipments have risen from a trough and the second-quarter is expected to be better.
Expedia Inc.'s (EXPE, $13.21, +$2.62, +24.74%) first-quarter net income fell 20% on a restructuring charge as revenue from both hotels and air travel declined. But shares rose as the online travel agency's results excluding items beat expectations, and Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said the company saw improved momentum in transaction and hotel-room-night volumes despite the difficult economic environment.
Other Stocks In Focus
Akamai Technologies Inc.'s (AKAM, $22.38, +$2.32, +11.57%) first-quarter net income rose 0.5% on higher sales as the company also authorized a $100 million stock repurchase program. Earnings topped the Internet content-delivery company's guidance.
Apache Corp. (APA, $72.91, +$3.08, +4.41%) swung to a first-quarter loss as it wrote down its oil and gas properties by another $1.98 billion with the plunge in natural-gas prices. The company, whose shares rose as the quarter's results topped expectations, estimates second-quarter output will rise 3% to 5% from the first quarter and sees 2009 growth at the lower end of its target.
Assurant Inc.'s (AIZ, $24.28, -$3.75, -13.38%) first-quarter net income dropped 57% on lower revenue and higher investment losses. The results fell short of Wall Street's expectations.
Bank of America Corp. (BAC, $9.02, +$0.34, +3.92%) shareholders voted to strip Ken Lewis of his chairman title in historic fashion, demonstrating just how precarious his hold on his other job - chief executive - has become. The board installed Walter Massey as chairman after the shareholders adopted a resolution to split the positions.
BorgWarner Inc. (BWA, $29.97, +$2.07, +7.40%) swung to a first-quarter loss that was narrower than expected but reflected auto makers' steep production cuts. But Chairman and Chief Executive Timothy Manganello said the transmission specialist's restructuring is beginning to show positive results.
