Hi MIH, Re: JBL selling.....................
I did an incremental sale today of 5% of my position. The last time I was able to add to my position was in March and June of 2022 when the price/share was less than half what it is today.

JBL up nicely today. It's at an all time high at this point.

Hi EastUnder, Re: Article.........................
One thing I've been watching since starting my "investment" in MESA has been their book value per share. It's been cheap for quite a long time as the share price has declined - far cheaper than any airline I've studied. However, as they sell off assets, their book value will be dropping. I'd have to factor in their equipment sales to their current stated book value and see if the BV/Sh is still looking like a bargain. I'll report back when I study that more.
Generally I'm a long term investor and my MESA is in an IRA where tax loss selling isn't overly useful! So, it warrants further study on my part. The share price is now just below where it bottomed in late Q4, 2022. It's a very long way off its Q1, 2023 high of $3.64.
More later after my review,

BTW, That machine is called an apheresis blood separator. My donation is called "Double Reds" where they separate the red cells from the rest of the blood and return the remainder to the donor. They get roughly two "units" of red cells this way. Red blood cells have a better shelf life than whole blood, so that's why I do it. Plus I can only donate 3 times a year 9once each 4 months) so it takes less time out of my 'busy' schedule!
"Grabber" pointed out that I didn't identify what was going on in my picture!

Hi B,
WPC is quite near my next "buy" point, but that price does not include the recent news. I think I'll let some dust settle before I put in my next GTC Limit Order to add shares.
The great shake-out from the Covid Shutdown is still occurring. Dr. Fauci is still out there and not being pursued for his involvement in that scandal.
We'll see what happens next.

Hi E,
We may get a chance to buy MESA under a buck a share. The whole industry has been down with the blues for all of Q3 so far.
MESA's been 'over-contributing' to this downtrend, I feel!!!
I've not decided whether I'll continue averaging down here. Maybe Q3 results will be good enough to get MESA airborne again.

Good morning Jon, Re: v-Wave latest data and history..........................................
The 18 Month vW is improving with the markets' change and consolidation. The 3.5 Year vW shows market risk holding just above its median value and some modest sensitivity to recent market moves.

The end of August left V.I.E.W.s portfolios with modest setbacks from the previous month. However, all are ahead of where they started 2023 so far.
Simple Contributory IRA - Managed with modified Twinvest using VUG as the Growth component and cash

The price is now below all three of my latest sell trades. My cash reserve for GNRC is currently at around 31% of total position value. The current price/share is a healthy 20% discount from my last selling price and slightly below my targeted buy-back to add 12% to share inventory.
I guess it's time to make a buy decision!!!
Thanks,
OAG
Hi Jake,
Here are the rest of my portfolios as of the end of July:
International Style ETFs:
(current Cash Reserve = 16% of total)
U.S. Sector ETFs (mostly "equal weight"):
(current Cash Reserve = 11% of total)
Simple Contributory Retirement Account:
(Uses a modified Twinvest formula and is currently Cash Reserve = 20% of total)
I find it interesting how the "shape" of these various portfolios are somewhat similar in the histograms. None are immune to market stresses but they do handle them slightly differently and recoveries are at different rates.
Best wishes,
OAG Tom
Hi Jake, Re: Pooled Cash from various AIM engines..................
What you are suggesting is pretty much how I am doing things in my "Sandbox" of 10 company stocks. Each stock is its own AIM engine and each shows a cash reserve relative to its AIM activities. The sum of those various cash positions is currently 22% of total portfolio value while various pieces show from zero to 35% cash on hand.
I'm not currently any where near the v-WAve "mutual fund" suggested target of 31%, but the cash level has risen this year from around 15% overall to its current 22%. So, it's moving in the correct direction. Only a couple are any where near the individual stock v-Wave suggested cash level at this time.
If/when the markets turn ugly and all stocks go down in concert, my current cash levels will look a bit paltry. However, then I have to decide where the reserves will be best utilized - a non-AIM decision when all positions could be calling for further investments. That's not a perfect solution.
Even so, it's worked okay so far. That's been partially luck and partially Lichello magic. Even Covid didn't take my cash to zero, but only because of my over-lay of the "30 day rule" limiting my buying to just once in 30 days. The recovery was so quickly upon us that I really made just one or maybe two buys in most of the positions. Looking at the above history, Cash peaked in August of 2021 at 39%. The v-Wave at that time was showing a need of 52% cash for individual stocks and 35% for diversified funds or portfolios. So, my account wasn't too far off the mark when the 2022 market declines started to shift my account back from cash toward more inventory.
2022 took cash down to less than half of its peak value by year's end. On a percentage basis it dropped to just 16% of portfolio value before things started to recover. By contrast, the v-Wave for individual stocks had dropped to a suggestion of 39% for individual stocks and 26% for diversified funds. So, my portfolio of just 10 stocks bought more deeply than the v-Wave's suggested targets at the time.
AIM has been the mechanism that has governed the total amount of cash on hand. The v-Wave has been a target, but not a rule in general. I do, however, use the v-Wave and 'vealies' as a governor on buildup of excess cash reserve in each position. Various of the AIM engines have had as much as around 50% cash at times even when the total of cash in the overall portfolio represented quite a bit lower percentage.
I hope this example helps a bit.
Best wishes,
OAG Tom
I keep a relatively wide spread between where I accumulate and distribute shares of PRIM. So far in 2023 I've had three sales of ~10% of remaining shares at successively higher prices. That follows three purchases in 2022. My current targets are:
Sell 10% of shares at $33+
or
Buy 12% more shares at $24.50 or less
My latest sale was in June at just over $30/share, so that $24 buy target is a reasonable discount. Since starting this position the price/share is up 20% and through management the overall position including cash is up 27% for a nice improvement.
Managing share inventory and cash held in reserve is the M. O.
Best wishes,
OAG
Good Weekend to you Jon, Re: v-Wave.......................
It would appear we're starting to see the short term upside potential of this market be limited by the rise in shorter term (18 month) risk. This is occurring even as the longer term picture remains essentially unchanged for the Year-To-Date.

I found that the old "PRIM" was a company that seems to no longer exist (Prime Holdings). So, I've grabbed the last few entries and copied them here to start fresh with Primoris.

I let another 10% of my PRIM position go yesterday at $26.99 on a Limit GTC order.
The position now has a comfortable reserve of cash for future trading around the core position.
