JL@ Maybe this Quote - shall not be used directly in court. The truth non the less :)
cbb@ Clear answer - you don't se one of big generic - Teva or Apotex - as the best way forward.
----------------------
What is annoying is the fact that this little Nevada judge - has sent the SP in the canvas- meaning that the 'price for Amarin' in theory will be 'much to low' - in a BP deal right now.
Fact of the matter is - that the sales in US will actually not be that influenced for the first 2- 3 years - most with knowledge of Bio business says. In 'real life 'dead of Marine patents' means generic competition some 4 - 5 years earlier. Not the end of the world - like the current SP indicates.
Let hope for a super BO deal SOON - so we can all 'get on with life' :)
Jasbg
Capt@ In the end - what makes this guy very popular almost everywhere he goes - is that he is completely 'down to earth'.
He for years have been able 'to make easily the money he needs' from the markets - that is not at all what is driving him.
------------------------
Where he really 'feels alive' - i trying to make his 'hard earnt' knowledge into the markets 'understandable' to other traders - and you can feel that - looking at his videos.
A rather unique character in this modern world of self service :)
Capt@ If you are into day trading this guy is Gold:
I think you can still download his Book for free from this link:
https://tradertom.com/
cbb@ I'm no expert in Bio deals - but just an example of a teoretic possible scenario from the sideline.
---------------------------
Lets say Teva - bought 40% of Amarin today - with the option to buy rest of company in say 2- 3 years - at a price fair to both measured from preset facts earnings/outlook at a given future date.
Teva have the logistics and sales organisation to make Vascepa - BIG FAST.
This would give Amarin a chance to recover from patent loss (SP going North) - and Teva the time to 'test the true potential of this CDV savier drug - in timely manner replacing Lovaza.
----------------------------------------
I always see you arguing for BO - which is fair enough.
Would a deal like - the one lined out above (or something along that line) be acceptable for you ?
Jasbg
PS. I have been talking Teva a number of times - and therefore have to stress' that I only know Teva from internet - as a layperson. Only reason I would find a cooperation/partnership interesting - is the fact that Teva was the first to make a generic settlement (indicates they know Amarin)
And from outside - the same AG Vascepa product Worldwide - would seem to be easier both in production - logistics and marketing to make Big' in sales Fast'.
cbb@ Watch out you don't go Viral - with great poetry like that :)
Capt: Beautiful song for sure:
marjac@ Good to see your spirit is still on true and honest Justice - anyway possible.
As I said to BB earlier today - 'Go Get Them' !
ATB
Jasbg
bid@ Look at their Logo and 'Punch Lines'
Not GOED EPA:
"Global Organisation for EPA and DHA Omega-3's'
They obviously don't want DHA in Omega-3 to be 'talked down' as it is essential part of most of the products they promote.
irish@ Second that. - Go Get Them BB :)
invest@ Value of Amarin 'ARE NOT' connected to Baker Brothers.
Brothers have, in the midst' of the depressing ever fall backs, become 'the gods of Bio investment' - that many looked upon for hope and mental insurance of investment.
Them leaving 'in real world' does not change a thing (if it is actually true).
Obviously they (BB) did not accomplish the changes in management that many people here had hoped for - that being the case their presence or not - is irrelevant.
cir@ Thanks. Teva would - if things happen fast - with a WW AG Vascepa - be lightyears ahead of rest of generic competition.
And as some have suggested - being the worlds largest producer of drugs - Teva would possible be able 'sit on all IPI' (raw products for producing EPA) - this way defacto eliminating competition.
https://www.tevagenerics.com/about-teva-generics/who-we-are
Funny:) - But where is he ?
Louie@ LOL :)
Down@ Good post - 'things are moving' :)
And you a nice weekend too !
Jasbg
raf@ A thought - maybe not bright - but still A Thought :)
Knowing that it's actually Teva - selling Lovaza - you could look at that as a blockage for making a Partner deal with Teva for Vascepa.
-------------------------
But if you turn it around - Teva is 'exactly the right partner for this. Instead of 'fighting Amarin' - loosing Lovaza marked all the time, Teva can go out into the world and announce:
"We now have the wunder drug that over the next months will replace Lovaza - and this drug will be on of the biggest and most important drugs for humanity ever - with potential to save hundreds of millions of CDV patients Worldwide".
--------------------------
Idea: Teva would have 'both groups of customers' from the start. And they could just 'nice and easy' transfer earlier Lovaza patients to Vascepa - in the tempo where logistics and production would be able to handle it.
Teva would benefit - sky would be the limit for expansion of new Vascepa customers WW. CDV patient all over planet earth would benefit - a total WIN - WIN :)
Jasbg
Dirtee@ Agree - these fund sites 'are business' - not filantropis :)
Meo and Leve2@ Thanks !
Because I have come to like a lot of people in this board - and it si weekend - I'll share a story I think many will find entertaining - some might learn 'How to get Rich Fast' listening to this guy.
------------------------
Short background - We have in Denmark for a number of years have had 'Locally famous' Podcast group (sponsored by a big MSM media - running a competition on a yearly basis - out of 4 contestants who could make Dkr 250.000 grow the most in the market over 12 months.
A lot of listeners have followed this - as it is very entertaining people in the competition . and often very well know (in finance) guests on the show.
-------------------------
So here why this is interesting. This one guy (everybody in finance locally knows him) Tom Hougaard - started out with Dkr 250.000 - 01/01 2020 in the contest as usual. About june 1st (hold on to your hat and glasses) he had made the start money into Dkr 80.000.000 (80 million in 5 months).
He later lost - 30 of them again - but still - This is day trading at a Level that takes 'the breath away from most of us. He typically Gears 100 - 150 when he trades:
He these days gives courses all over the world in his trading filosofies and way of looking at the markets. But I actually found a video on YT - where Tom is talking to a big group of traders in London - and here he reveals the mental ag psychological reasons for him - being able to make these insane gains in the markets - when others cant.
A nice weekend to all - and enjoy :)
postes@ Thanks for your extensive input here - which does put light on a number of things that hopefully is 'on the table' at Amarins - if company is at all Alert on the catastrophic Free Fall of SP.
--------------
I in general accept your very well argued reasons for 'needing a new CEO'.
My only comment would be 'that had Amarin won in Nevada' - I think most of us would have 'lived fine' with the short commings of JT - as you describe them.
I Scandinavia there is an old saying - 'When the trough is empty, the horses starts biting each other'.
Right now 'not much left in the trough of Amarin - with 'bad tone and fighting' just beneath the surface of us all - (nerves - self blame - wife blame - what have you). Not Nice to be poor - eye :)
All the best and a nice weekend to you !
Jasbg
Checked info on IFRX - it was new CFO (not CEO) - my mistake !
cbb: Dont agree on H**. He said 70% winning appeal (later that he sold himself) Plays God foreseeing future to 2035 - it's a joke !
postes@ Always underlined it was/is spekulation - when talking manipulation in the market - as it seems close to impossible to prove who is behind it. But if say 'a number of BP statin producers - didn't want Vascepa - to be the major success it had the potential for right after R-I and CDV approval dec. 2019.
You know this as well as me (or better) how SP at the time was trying to break the $25 barrier a number of times - but always a big number of shares were dropped at low price - to force the price below 'every time'.
The difference between talking 'manipulation' in the markets - and keep on pushing Wild Conspiracy Theories (calling CEO and management things you would be sued for elsewhere) - is that manipulation in the markets is something that everyone knows as a fact - happens everyday. Where as 'turning around and calling a company management 'criminals' because they lost a lawsuit - is simply childish behaver - in my book.
Nasdaq itself tells you about different forms of manipulation in the markets:
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/5-market-manipulation-tactics-and-how-avoid-them-2018-04-11
Jasbg
NB. It's a fair opinion to think that what would be best for Amarin - at this point is for JT to step down - company having a new CEO - but leave out the 'name calling and Conspiracy Theories'.
A recent example - that a new CEO does not 'always' mean higher SP is IFRX. Had a new CEO last friday - already yesterday was down and below - were is was a week ago.
rose@ I suppose you are right - but it is what you can officially find on the subject.
Have to say - parts of this board - seem to be going completely of the rails - in their fantasy conspiracy theories.
-----------------------
If this continues much longer - hard to take anything serious around here. It's becoming a complete waist of time and energy.
Jasbg
raist@ No offence - comparing a small company being destroyed (very damaged) by an in sane ruling of US justice system - is hardly in the same league as one of history's biggest scammers.
Impossibly to be more 'off target' than your post here.
Downt@ BB (Baker Brothers) still hold 34,496,685 AMRN shares.
https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/amrn/institutional-holdings
Down the page - press 'Shares Held' - to have sorted in number shares held.
-------------------
Institutional Ownership 42.33 %
Jasbg
ralph@ Made a post yesterday on the same subject. How to get Scotus and WH' on the team to change this injustice.
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=158468267
Jasbg
PS I have supported your president since 2015 - when he decided to run.
http://talksense.dk/category/trump - (translate bottom right)
raist@ It was not a speech from JT. He answered question he did not know forehand which is different.
rose@ Not the best of times. AMRN needs to change direction soon !
yud@ What we all need to remember - is that everyone felt 95% sure to win the org. patent case - felt something like 50- 60% chance to win appeal (reverse patent kill).
No one expected to be in the position we are in right now. But we are' - that is a fact.
---------
Last chance now is 'En blanc' following the justice path - and actually 'no one' knows the exact chance this has - so will stop putting percentages on it being granted.
---------
Meo's football analogy 'says exactly' - why Amicus is the right thing to do at this point.
cbb@ Agree with the 'Buyback' points in your post here.
Announcing a Buyback at this point would be a wise move of Amarin. And IMPORTANT to make sure 'it is all over BIO press' - it should 'make SP change for North' - which would be good :)
lizzy@ If they need the money later - Just sell shares in the market again.
If the company is going to have any kind of succes in - near and long-term - the SP Has to be Better in the future.
Jason@ I like the simplicity of your plan - actually 'It might Work'.
I'd say point 3. - is the uncertain part the most.
--------------
If you look at general Fish Oil market it is Huge - there is a lot of fish in the oceans worldwide. How the world will look in 10- 20 years in API of EPA - no one can say (control) It all depends on price and demand.
raist@ When you line failures up like you do here - it does look bad.
The big question then - is it all part of a bigger secret plan 'to screw share holders' and make the company privat ?
-------------------------------
Hudsucker Proxy - was a film - a comedy even. Name me 'only one' example - where something like that has happened in 'real life' with a billion dollar company.
Amarin have just been caught in bad luck to an extend that seems 'almost impossible' - to keep being hit that bad 'upon a major Science Break Through'.
-------------------------------
A number of the things you and JL mention - is obviously 'in hindsight' faults on Amarin's part.
1. Biggest mistake probably not using Lobbyists (even though I hate this undemocratic bribery-like fenomena) - it is big part of 'not least' the Bio business.
2. FDA does seem to 'delay everything' when it comes to Amarin. Payback maybe - could have been solved using lobbyists (hindsight again).
3. Amarin 'being very careful not to provoke FDA regarding starting DTC and marketing general - Is part of the same story of the 'old lawsuit that Amarin won.
After approval of CDV label december 2019 - Amarin would for everything avoid another delaying fight with FDA - so they played DTC etc. fully by the book.
4. 9th Circuit ruling - is what 'totally smashed everything' - for Amarin's planning - and indeed for shareholder value
What 90% of Bio Press said could newer happen - Hikma bloodhound generic Layers proved wrong - and everything Amarin fought for' - for more than 10 years - were left in ruins.
That is how I see things. Not an Evil Plan from JT and Bod - they were/are just as shocked as shareholders over - how US justice system give the power 'to one single judge' to completely destroy a small privat company in the US market.
Jasbg
BioChi@ That actually an interesting suggestion.
Would at the same time 'signal' that Amarin believe in the future of company - and show a bit of Real Action from management.
-----------------------------
And at this price for SP - a 'Buy Back' would hopefully be a very good investment - before to long - for the Company :)
tmac@ An island in the Caribbean would be more appropriate.
Shouldn't be a problem with the 6 billion they stole from AMRN share holders :)
Downtown@ And you and family survived covid (remember you struggles with testing etc).
10 years from now we will look back at this as experience (painful - yes) -
but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger - yes :)
rose@ Apparently not :)
lizzy@ Every retail investor here - feel deeply betrayed.
Because we Were/ and Are betrayed by this insane justice system - that can 'kill a company' like Amarin in a random courtroom in USA. It is truly madness.
