shame, but I certainly understand the notion that the dice have been played in the trusted computing space. While I'm inclined to think the space will be a bit more dynamic than that statement implies, it does seem that at least *this stage* is more or less apparent.

broadly ...

While I am currently strapping to provide the
typically unwanted balance to this venue,
it is currently the case than I am personally
incapable.

I still feel this is only the "small important part" I have always said, and feel it is good for the 1-2billion mktcap I target, but I could be wrong, and it could be more.

I feel the odds of it being less continue to diminish in a weekly fashion.

(AND) I take considerable pleasure in the fact that most here couldn’t give a rats ass of my opinion.

RWK, Dell is standing *to the side* of untested technology.

Untested being any technolgy that has not been observed in full enablement and use in the many millions in the consumer space.

I'm not saying that there hasn't been testing. I'm just saying that those that make their living in this business may well place the bar a bit higher than your average Void.

So dell has taken the hook, but demanded 2 pound test leader.

Have I ever reminded you if you were wrong? I generally steer a wide course around that. I am more attuned to spin being called spin and so on, I'm not one the gets all wound up reveling in pseduo-victories.

unix, my contention is

the TPM is the very item that most distinguishes Longhorn and makes it what it is. A four-wheel drive truck is a truck, but what distinguishes it is its 4-wheel capability. I guess Ford could release a 4WD and "push-back" the 4WD capability, but it is not something I expect to happen. Longhorn simply is a harware hardened OS, they could push back the hardware hardening just as Ford could release a 4WD that didn't have 4WD capability (I suppose)... but I wouldn't make my investment decisions based on such a possibility. I consider such considerations far fringe.

unixguy, that is correct (IMO)

Longhorn will still work without a TPM. Similarly, a four wheel drive pick-up can be purchased and be used as a two-wheel drive pick-up for its entire service life. A digital video camera with a stills feature can be used to only take stills and never shoot a second of video. A multibillion dollar nuclear submarine could be used to explore a small freshwater lake. In every case one would be using the device for something less than it was built for. Longhorn is built for an SSC, and every indication from MSFT is that the debut SSC will be a TCG-TPM v1.2 There are things to criticise, but the relationship between Longhorn and TPMs is a poor choice of such.

24601, I looked at this rather cafefully a bit ago and agree with your and RWKs assessment, less the apparent fact that the prices for the 1.15 and 1.30 have been modified downwards slightly.

"Includes warrants granted in connection with the August 2, 2004 offering, to purchase 3,529,412 Class A Common Shares initially granted with an exercise price of $1.15 adjusted to an exercise price of $1.1428 pursuant to a Series A Common Stock Purchase Warrant and 882,353 Class A Common Shares initially granted with an exercise price of $1.30 adjusted to an exercise price of $1.2820 pursuant to a Series B Common Stock Purchase Warrant. The Series A and Series B Stock Purchase Warrants contained a provision whereby their exercise price would be adjusted in the event that Wave sold additional shares at prices below the exercise prices contained therein."

Otherwise all of the language, share sums, etc agree with the typo notion.

I've owned this stock variably for over 7 years. I know only two things for sure:

1. The Spragues will pay themselves like they are running MSFT.

2. Trades during illiquid before/after hours intervals mean absolutely nothing (or if anything constitute a contrarian indicator).

The fools that do this thing after/before hours get theirs handed to them on a platter within 30 minutes of real markets opening. It (before/after trading) is and always has been pathetic in the extreme with regards to this equity.

but I'll try to "reconcile" it.

By not being on the list of 1/26, it was not on the list of 1/26. By being on the list of 1/27, it was on the list of 1/27. My reconciliation would be that some force (likely god) performed a terribly complex action that requires multiple posts here that I can only lamely describe as: Wave was added to the list. You might want to print this post and diagram it.

edit: the list to which you refer seems somewhat transient, we'll see what the durable record for 1/27 says tommorrow.

OT zen,

My ZoneAlarm personal firewall does what can only be described as a stunning job, but in my experience there is a catch ... one needs a fresh clean address that never operates without the firewall. Once your IDs are all over the place its tough to block. Among the traits of a decent firewall is to some extent hide you in the first place making the collection of your IDs more difficult. As most folks aren't even marginally protected by even the most flimsy of firewalls, there is little need for the spammers to push through my comparatively simple ZA-Wall.

On a different note regarding your almost maniacal worship of "positivity" and corresponding condescending denigration of "negativity" ...

Twas one Pat Buchanan as a speech writer for the Nixon/Agnew administration that gave us the pearl (your pearl in a sense) condescending towards critics with the ever famous "nattering nabobs of negativity" ... and we see where that got us, a convicted tax evader for a VP and history's only resignation of a Pres.

Zen, sometimes bad things happen, sometimes people do things poorly, and noting it is sometimes a good thing, and sometimes the positivity folks cause a whole boatload of delay and hence harm via their mantra. As many, if not more, lives are ruined by positivity than the converse. So stay on your high horse, and speak down on the "negativity" folks, but know this: your path is the path to greater ruin and pain. Balance, sir, not "positivity" is the way to go. Given the filtered nature of this venue, some folks don't waste their time reiterating the positive (seriously, do you really need me to re-post the re-post of a re-post ala barge in order to further build "positivity"?). In the context of such forever positive RANTS, some are inclined to remind of the negative. I believe it brings balance, you feel it is something to ridicule.

The nattering nabobs were right, and they slept better and contributed more than the "positivity" folks.

greg, the point is it must close below a buck for 30 business days before this even becomes an issue as the matter is not on the table until then.

IF it closes below a buck for 30 days (sometime in March at the soonest) THEN they could be served a delisting notice which gives a 180 day grace period (post 9/11). IF after the 180 day grace period Wave fails to rectify, THEN they can ask for another 180 days. Either Way, its all bollocks at this point.

Any fool can tell you this thing will close above a buck at least once before March 8th (the soonest they could be served a delisting warning).

My understanding is the delisting issue has been totally
vacated. Wave would have to once again meet the criteria for a warning, and then fail to correct their status in 180 days. In other words, Wave will need to sit below a buck for some time before there is a warning, and then fail to get 10 consecutive days above a buck. The soonest Wave could be delisted (in the absence of something rather unusual) would be around the end of August. The issue is clearly bollocks at this point in time.

VESA was an industry consortium for an enhanced bus to allow better graphics throughput .... it enjoyed massive support.

Intel's PCI came later and obliterated the VESA local bus in well under a week.

This thing looks like a bullish flag if there ever was one. Flagpole was well established on heavy volume, and the flag on steadily declining price and volume since then with high and low boundaries near parallel matching volume decline line.

The formations supposedly portends a breakout to new local highs.

so strictly, my interpretation regarding interoperability was correct, but practically it may still be the case that the TPM to TSS barrier is more of a molehill than a mountain, or that Doma's assertion the NTRU is the only "independent" TSS is more important than this interoperability junction? (I'm more inclined to think it is important, but that is a point I've already belabored ad nauseum).

On a related point, I find SKS' statements regarding the free Wave-CSP (others here say it is free for development but not for use of that which is developed although I have no confirmation of this from Wave) to be rather interesting. SKS mentions what sounds like proprietary interfaces coming "out the side" instead of the top of the Wave layer enabling Wave to plug-in their life-cycle management server-based services. SKS mentions such thingy's would normally come out the industry defined top/bottom layers. Is this Wave Trojan horsing proprietary functionality into an otherwise standards-based CSP? Is providing the CSP free a means to secure deployment of the Trojan horse? Would others be able to use the side-ports?

that was essentially my point/perception in my post to Weby, wherein rachel and surfs wanted to stress that the CSP was not free if you make anything worthwhile with it. My original notin was as you state, that "the more apps that are written using Wave's CSP the stronger Wave becomes". Yuor comments regarding revs are as I had perceived it, until rachel and surfs stated that the CSP is only free if you don't make valuable anything with it.

surfs, I am not currently trying to make a point, I am trying to better understand how and when revenue could occur via the CSP. Generally speaking the declarative vs interrogatory aims of my posts can be discerned by the use of the following punctuation "?"

So, Wave gives the CSP away, and then *if* one manages to develop something worthwhile with it, then Wave tells one what the fee will be, presumably on a royalty basis, and perhaps all within the notion of the TCG RAND?

Another Q, do e.g. Wave's ETS apps require the presence of e.g. Wave's CSP on the machine in order to run? I always assumed it/they did, or does some component of the CSP essentially get imbedded into the final app when compiled?

but that is some ways off, currently what we are looking at is folks like USMA developing apps for their own use, not anything to sell to anybody ... is that a "commercial application"?. If CB *gives* a signon app to a bank customer ... is that a "commercial application"?

edit: with the latter perhaps, with the former it seems less likely

I'm just inclined to think that evaluation of an application entails evaluation of the platform particularly when it is a platform has not seen meaningful deployment. Its a semantic and formal distinction, and one that lead to the usual brick-bats after the USMA deal.

Folks here prefer to operate in more absolutes than I.

it was something I had already read days before, and as I recall weeks before. In other words, my unposted response to taxi-vader's post was "No, its not new", then awk came in and said it was new. It may have been somewhat new, but definitely not brand new.
