Stocks that are being touted via email campaigns are too risky imo so I won't even hazzard a guess. This same outfit was also sending out emails on IBXG, same tag line too 'watch this stock trade'...
I sign up for these services because I want to know if a stock I'm currently holding is being promoted. I don't think promotion is for the benefit of the buyers, but rather the sellers.
Caveat...if big news comes out and everyone starts buying with very little selling...well who knows? But too risky for my blood.
blackice318...you have mail
I assume it comes as an attachment.
I got an email on JRSE...
Real intersesting disclaimer if anyone is interested?

I used to live in Northern Ontario...and one of my clients was in San Diego. I went on a business trip in February and didn't want to leave. My client used to leave me voice mails in his thick NY accent like:
"Hey Gord, its Rich...that guy in sunny San Diego. We're having some rough weather down here buddy. This morning I looked out and saw a cloud....ruined my whole &%+@!!! day"
It is Nemo...but its hard
We're almost conditioned to focus in on our goals. Not to go on too much of a religous bent here...but how many time did Jesus stop on his way somewhere? Be it with the woman at the well or numerous other times related in the Gospels.
Ironic place to be discussing such things eh? A stock message board where everyone is chasing a buck...ironic but fitting.
Nemo...
Life is all about distractions...most people miss that what life is all about because they're too focused on their goals.
I think John Lennon put it this way:
"Life is what happens to you while you're trying to get somewhere" or words to that effect.
Nemo...
That was really sweet...sentimental and sappy, but sweet. Like the first time I heard that Christmas song about the shoes the little boy wanted to buy for his ailing mother...grown man choking back tears, that was me.
Its not the desitnation its the journey, don't let your goals get in the way of the distractions...that's what life is all about.

ENGY Edgar Financials out Today:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=engy.ob
Already reported via the 10QSB a couple weeks ago...but even then the numbers were already old...for the 1/4 ending Sept 30/03.
Financials Are Out (links)
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=engy.ob
The 10QSB broke all the financial data out as:
"RESULTS OF OPERATIONS FOR THE NINE-MONTH PERIOD ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2003"
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/031120/engy.ob10qsb.html
Its good to see the results extrapolated for the MRQ. I'll have to wait and see what the market's reaction is but the bottom line for the 3 month period ending Sept-30-03 has me somewhat optimistic:
"Net Income Applicable To Common Shares $155"
{All numbers in thousands}
MarketNovice..that wasn't a warning per sé...
Promotion isn't neccessarily a bad thing...especially if it occurs in a stock I am currently holding Promotion in all likelihood should spur increased demand which can translate into a higher valuation...
The questions I ask when I see a stock being promoted via email or other avenues are:
-Was it paid for?
-Who is selling?
If the promotion is being paid for...why wasn't the $$$$ spent on purchasing the stock?
Sorry for the pedantic nature of this post, I just don't want to be blamed if the stock explodes...'dang ledrog, I coulda made some good $$$$'....
Best of luck.
I'm getting alot of emials on PAYD...
IMO caution is in order.
any thoughts on NCTI's chart?

About the only negative imo is that stochastics are pointing toward overbought.
a bit more on ncti...
They haven't talked about it much...fwiw it seems to me they're not promoting themselves:

One sub(ish) stock in my email
From hotstockchat:
GBIS .025 +.015 Big early move and holding up.
Muchos Thanks Marty...
Volume today was over 2x the 20 day average...so the question now, was the spike the result of what I call smart money accumulation...or just a rebound from its low or dead cat bounce.
MartyMan...
Favor if you don't mind...volume on my favortie little sub has dried right up. Just wondering if you'd mind posting a chart with your thoughts?
Hopefully we'll get some tax loss selling...
Lots of reasons for shareholders to be fearful...hopefully we'll see an increase in volume.
Keep an eye on NCTI...
IMO the next couple days are critical in terms of a potential break out. For my own part I am of the opinion that it is an inevitability, but that's just my own opinion. I think the next couple days however will quite probably signal wheter or not its immenent.
Again, all imo only...do your own DD.
Thanks Dallas_Boy50...
I'm signed up there too now
There are tons of 'em out there...personally I hope to be buying stocks before they start getting hyped or promoted. And those stocks I receive emails on usually tank...hogc.ob being one notable exception.
I get tons of 'em nemo...
I sign up for that cheese just in case a stock I'm holding ends up the topic of spam. FWIW I don't consider hotstockchat to be of that ilk, regardless I can see their emails perhaps driving increased demand which might translate to a good exit point.
I've put this message on RB a couple times:
'I'm a brainless twit who doesn't have the time to make my own investment decisions. It sure would be nice if there was a dedicated group of professionals kind hearted enough to notify me when they believe a stock is poised to move.'
Another Email stock...soon to be a sub imo
JRSE just over 2 cents now...I got several emails on this one saying 'watch this stock trade'. I have been...watching it trade down.
Subs in My E-mail...
From hotstockchat.com
CTKH .0015 yesterday to here... Nanotech is hot. See disclaimer below (in red)
AGRD .0087 Nanotech... See disclaimer below (in red)
The disclaimer in the email enumerates the ownership position of hotstockchat.com in the aforementioned stocks. Hotstockchat gives a very detailed disclaimer which you can see on their site.
Just my opinion...but based on the volumes
It seems to me that shareholders are expecting to do better than .0071
So...Am I the only shareholder on this thread?
Not that I mind...just curious.

Volume is really drying up...
I guess it's not too surprising...an awful lot of shares have traded hands in the past few months. Hopefully the shares have moved from weak to strong hands...
Here's one to think over...ENGY
Don't be surprised if another poster shows up here slamming it. I'm a shareholder so my bullishness is to be expected. If you're looking for a stock that is garnering a lot of attention...uhm, this ain't it.
Financials were late...their web site is down...I tried emailing the company and my email bounced back. If they're trying to attract buyers to the stock they're doing a real lousy job.
I have to keep shaking my head when I look at the chart...can't understand how it looks as it does with zero promotion and no investor relations.
Any thoughts?
No worries nemo...
My favorite current sub (you know the one) hasn't had enough volume recently to even warrant mentioning. And if I do mention it jmhollen follows me around posting that its 'dead in the water'...so why even bother
Maybe it is maybe it isn't...you pays your money you takes your shot.
In the meantime I like the forum here and will likely use it as a source for future picks so its fun to contribute.
interesting take titan...
So you think that the notification of late filing may have had a positive impact as some may have feared they weren't going to file at all.
Volume on the 14th was more than 3 and a 1/2 times the preceding 20 day average and I estimate over $75,000 was represented by the volume of over 8.5 million that day.
You may be right...I tend to view the off line status of the web site as being a potential positive as well. The way I look at it even their current 10QSB could have been given a nice positive spin if they'd wanted to release a PR with it.
Of course that would have the potential of bringing in more buyers...and for whatever reason it doesn't appear that they're interested in attracting any interest right now. My own cynical nature likes that, at least from a buying or holding perspective. Its my experience that when companies are actively promoting themselves, that share prices tend to be much higher...and I prefer to buy low.

SFAD Breaking this morning... has a history of quick short-lived moves.
IMTO Watching...
That's it....
ENGY...Watch The Volumes...
One for the watch list, if volumes pick up recent history suggests that it will have a + impact on the price. FWIW I don't sugget neccessarily buying on a high volume day as they seem to be followed by days with low volume and sideways down movement.
Bad news doesn't even seem to bother this stock. On November 14th they filed that their QSB would be late...the price climbed on volume of 8 million (???). I guess late financials may have scared some into selling, but there were more than enough buyers to step in for some reason. If indeed ENGY is undergoing accumulation I don't except to find out why until later.
NCTI Volume Picking Up...
Its down 1/10th of a penny so far. 20 day average volume is around 1.7 million. If it can get over that figure look for a Volume(-) mover alert, that might encourage some selling and we'll see if the bulls step in to take up the slack....my bet is they will
Very risky however, do your own DD and make your own decision.
A whopping 8,000 in volume so far...
20 day average volume is over 1.4 million according to my calculations. Maybe some bad news would help, when they filed that the 10QSB would be late volume went up to over 8.6 million.
Why was there so much buying when shareholders were likely selling due to Fear Uncertainty and Doubt?
Any thoughts beyond the druken MM theory put forth earlier?
