Nothing seems to be wonky with the servers, but I have noticed a little sporadic slowness today too. Doesn't seem to be coming from anything that I have control over though.
Actually, I think it could be your browser. It sounds like it's caching overly aggressively. Try clearing it and see if the glitch goes away.
Be nice. I asked him to stop in and answer that question. Mark is the head support guy at ADVFN. Don't scare him off ;)
Here's my explanation of the colors. There's really no such thing as a pure buy or sell. Someone buys what someone else is selling every time ;) When the price is close to the bid or ask, then the color is red or green. If it's somewhere in between, then it's black. What you're seeing is a computer's "best guess" of what's happening.
Have you read the Terms of Use?
Well, it's a problem with your file system - never a good thing to hear ;)
Give this a shot:

Here's Microsoft's advice on the subject:

Good luck ;)
Multiple .pst files are generally recommended. In practice though when I was working at a huge corporation that lived by email, I found I could get by with no problems by having one archive a year ;)
A desktop search product was a must there as well. My personal favorite was Copernic.
It's very prominent for free members - it's on the menu bar. We don't show it to premium members. I do agree that it could be more prominent on the home page.
I temporarily upgraded you until I can find someone to do it correctly ;)
Sorry about that. I'm working on updating the Paypal subscription routines so they're a bit more reliable. I'll find someone to manually upgrade you.
You caught me.
Not really. It's July in the Midwest, swimming seems like a good thing to do - nothing deeper than that ;)
I just surfed IHub as an anonymous user. While it's slower than for a premium user (as I would expect), most pages were loading between 1 and 2 seconds.
It amused me ;) Why?
I'm here. Unfortunately I'm not seeing any slowness. I'm getting pages loading and displaying in under .3 seconds.
In the status bar at the bottom of your browser, does it say what it's waiting on? We might have an ad that's being slow to load.
If you're using IE, then this should work for you:

Might be fixed. Try it.
I missed the part where you were replying to a private message - yup, looks like a bug.
I'll add that to the list.
Weird, it seems to work correctly for me. If your reply was OK, I'd say it was just a fluke.
Here's something I haven't personally tried but one of my geekish friends raved about it:

Log off and look at the site as an anonymous user. The Vibrant Media ads only pop up if you hover over a green underlined link and they're dismissable. It's not all that obnoxious.
Thanks Fred, glad you got it working ;)
It's just another form of advertising. As you well know we support the site through subscriptions and advertising. For those who prefer our very reasonably priced subscriptions, there are very few ads and quite a few other perks.
For those who don't care to buy a subscription, they see more ads.
It's all a matter of choice.
Do you mean work as in does it function technically or work as in does it make any money?
Back to normal means you should see 1 per day. If you're seeing one on every click, it means you're blocking cookies from advfn.com.
Should be fixed now.
Yes, free users see ads from Vibrant Media. They have green underlines on certain words. It's something we're evaluating.
You can't really monitor page prints. About the best you can do is count page hits of the page to be printed.
It should be working now.
Uh, thanks.
Yeah, I changed it ;)
What page are you hitting the quote link from?
Still? I thought that was fixed. Could you try it again and let me know if it's still not working correctly for you?
It should work. They would still be unable to post on the board though.
Try it now. Made the same change to read_msg.asp
