Trying to find the balance between being the person my dog thinks I am and the people our parents warned us about.

Thanks ddt.
yep. intra-day chart from about 11 am on very revealing. Nice steps and about hour or so between runs. I would expect this to run past 1.85-1.87 and start testing 1.90 in next 30 minutes
well, given today's news that would be expected. at least it is not a sell.
shorts licking something in their shorts right now if they were short last Friday. I mean that in a good way for them - at least my dog thinks its a good time to lick his shorts!
Not the time to short today. Charts and fundamentals indicate a bounce. Positive eps, 15+ year history, $1.51 book value and $2.39 per share in cash, would indicate upward trend
true, but I expect the bounces to be higher intra-day highs and higher intra-day lows as the panic and program selling winds down, and smart money realized the cash per share and book value plus positive earnings
yep, way, way oversold at that point. still is, but needs time to consolidate
OK, we had quick dash to 1.86 x 1.87 and now some retrenching, so close in the 1.80s (or higher) today starting to look a bit better
makes sense for GSK to buyout nabi if they are doing second gen NicVax, because the license agreement terminates and GSK is not on the hook for future royalties = additional cost savings for buyer.
yeowza wowza, Mr. Wowza!
if anyone, it would be their partner GSK
could be buyout target since the cash/share exceeds current share price.
yep, over 1/3 of NABI float traded today
This will bounce all around the place today. Back to 1.73 x 1.74 as I write
probably not today. I'll guess over 1.80. Will take some time to consolidate all of the panic selling. Maybe in next few days.
agree.
also, they are eps positive and more $$ in the pipeline. Unlike a lot of bios that have negative earnings. Today is a 1-year low, so once the panic selling is out of the way, this should make a relatively quick recovery back into the $2s, IMO
I'm a buyer, too, today. avg @ 1.715
yep. been following it for a while. a friend of mine was long on it (I used to be but got out a year or so ago). He will be drinking heavily tonight
this appears to be a 10-year low today. It will take a while to consolidate in the mid-1.70s IMO, before climbing some.
If I recall, cash per share is 2.39 and book value 1.51
I'm with you, bro'. Oversold due to panic. 2009 low was about 2.21, so that would be a good bounce back point
No, deal fell apart. Just as well. YASH going nowhere.
I'm already in
Thanks for posting that. eom
Have not read the specifics, but above $3 is certainly reasonable as they were there in December after last years set of tests.
would be nice since it was over $2 in early April
the only problem is that MM (VFIN) only dribbles out 5K shares at a time. They must be trading for their own acct to keep the share price down
article on peer-to-peer loans http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/7_on_your_side&id=8248928
I've been seeing this topic pop up for a while now. Originally it was called micro-lending or micro-finance (and still is in some sectors)and was originally developed by philanthropists and social venture types to assist with business development in developing countries. Look up the book "The Fortune at the Base of the Pyramid". When the US economy went into the toilet in 2008, it hampered small business' ability to tap capital and short-term loans. banks shut out the little guy. After companies like Advanta went belly-up after screwing the small business person, micro-lending became a solution for small business and peer-to-peer lending provides loans at a reasonable price (about where commercial loans were before the recession). For the lender, it is a lot better than any return you can get from a bank and perfect for conservative investors. Some more background at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottom_of_the_pyramid
and this from stockmarketwatch: http://thestockmarketwatch.com/newsletters/2011/07/14/wikiloan-inc-wkli-thursdays-hot-trade-alert/
yeah, sort of stop and go and some weird blips on the b/a at times
deri, see post 241. eom
yeah, saw that yesterday. Thanks for posting.
Potomac, listen to your mothers on this board and get a tetanus shot if you haven't had one or a booster in last 10 years. And if you have any oral antibiotics around the house, take them. On the other hand, if an infection develops odds are in your favor - you only have a 1 in 4 chance of dying. Right now, better odds on that than AIMH going through the roof. Get the shot so you will be around to see what AIMH does! http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001640/
Get well and good luck!
AdultProdigy- off topic, but did you see the recent segment of Shark Tank with the two guy from the Sopranos trying to raise $$ for their broccoli wad product? http://broccoliwad.com You signature pic sidebar reminds me of that. LOL. Real wise guys would not go to look to raise capital that way. Instead they would take you for a ride to a vacant warehouse in Bayonne and ask you to "invest".
not sure I'd want to put those on my feet! Just what I need, a pair of shoes that shouts "Can we talk?"
volume indicates they only cleared $65 for breakfast...
then I won't ask about lunch...
GM all! Is this the Breakfast Club?
I think there was a Joan Rivers ad for something a while back along that line where she asks if she is smiling as she can't feel her face. LOL.
Farsis, see my post 599 as to why I don't think andr shareholders will do anything.
