Perfect. Sold my .IBMAS Jan 95 calls this AM on the small bounce. Right before the PR confirming that IBM was paying the dividend again this quarter.
Almost like IBM's PR machine is connected to my options account somehow that has a counter trigger to my positions. Awesome!
How many years are folks willing to give Rufus, WITH CONFIDENCE, to do something that anyone else in charge of a public company could do in a week?
Pull certs? How hard is that?
.DIJWB DIA NOV 80 Puts
I've stated months ago about new subdivisions close to me. Two story homes with basements for under 300k! And they have been sitting now for about 2 years. I have to wonder how the builder can float that for so long. This is just north of Atlanta.
Being a homeowner myself, I've been bitching the last 5 years that builders need to stop developing the area with new homes. It was easy for me to see the excessive increase in supply of new homes since I don't make my living building them.
Messing around missing my opportunity to open some puts on DIA early this AM. You just knew it was going to give up it's gains.
Darn.
Agree 100%. Supply/Demand? LOL!
Right on!

Your call was right on.
You can't keep IBM down. LOL!
I averaged down on these:

Put in a sell for 4.30 and went to lunch with the wife. Came back and it was sold. Yeehaw.
IMO, the DJI closes green today.
Not sure I'll watch today... errr... actually I will. I like horror films and it's close to Halloween. LOL!
Is the Dollar gaining or is the Euro losing? Both? Or is the Euro just losing faster than the dollar?
Thoughts?
Oh, those poor OPEC members:
http://finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker/article/100364/He-Called-the-Peak-in-Oil-Now-Bleier-Sees-50-Crude-in-Early-%2709?tickers=FCX,XOM,AGU,POT,GLD,OIH,COP
"Today, Bleier predicts oil will fall to as low as $50 a barrel in early 2009, and, short of turning off the spigots entirely, he doesn't think OPEC -- which is meeting in Vienna this week -- can do much about it."
That's just too bad.
I think there was a march in New York city. I don't think they were armed though. LOL!
Until folks vote out the incumbants and stop voting "party", we'll not do a damned thing. PERIOD.

The first two round trips in these worked out really well! I guess I have until January. LOL!
What? Of course they did. LEH actually had money to pay the CEO a golden parachute without selling stock to do it after they failed. LOL!
Free money, IMO:

Buy on the dips!
My guess is over 100k. I found it reading about a road show a few months back and from what I read, I got the impression it was one of the elite cars. It certainly looks that way!
Is anyone interested how a start up company like Tesla could put that together before GM or Ford?
Who cares about Tesla any more? Here's a wicked one that charges in 10 minutes:

Simple question: Are there now more single family houses than single families? LOL! One more... will it ever be as easy to get a mortgage as it was between 99 and 2007?
If you have the stomach for it, buying rental properties is the way to go. It really always has been but now, more than ever, would be more profitable and stable, IMO.
I'd hate to be a builder right about now.
Thanks! It's funny. His favorite TV channels are the Military and History channels.
When I was 14, I was still watching cartoons until the Beverly Hills 90210 phenomenom started!
My 14 year old is interested in the current credit crisis. He couldn't quite comprehend how much bigger billions of dollars are than 100's of millions. He knows now! LOL!
I showed him how BRK bought the Intimates division of VF Corp for 300 million for Fruit of the Loom. Using that as an example, I said, "man, that's a lot of money, right?"
His reply was "right."
But, when you figure BRK has 30+ BILLION in cash, they only had to use 10% of that to buy an entire company!
Yeah, now he knows the difference. And I think that's how government gets away with spending so much. If a politician wants to spend, say 900 million on additional wellfare programs, they could get it passed by their constituents easier by adding 100 million to it so it's ONLY 1 Billion. At first glance, 1 Billion doesn't look nearly as menacing as 900 Million.
Especially when the powerball lottery is only 15 Million! LOL!
LOL! Yes, and I'm ready for a GOOG sell off any time now... SOOOOOOON!
Look for puts on IBM next week. It's gone from 88 to hit 95 today and yesterday. My guess is that it will move up another dollar from today's closing price whatever it may be on Monday's open. Place your bets accordingly!
IMO, of course.

Another Buffet saying:
"What is likely, however, is that the market will move higher, perhaps substantially so, well before either sentiment or the economy turns up," he said. "So if you wait for the robins, spring will be over."
.GGDWL GOOG NOV 360 Puts
The economy isn't good enough for big earnings to continue a run up, IMO.
I can't believe how many people (not here but the market in general) didn't realize that IBM pre-released last week! LOL!
The market reacted favorably last week but it didn't hold. Now today, it ran hard to the close and is still up AH.
Nice!
Edit - I remember trading penny stocks and a company would announce they were going to release audited financials. It never happened. Or, well it did once but those financials were fraudulent and the company went to the grey sheets. LOL!

Tony Robbins?
Turns out that today is a perfect day for IBM to be down. LOL!
I'm going to see how it looks around 3pm and decide if calls would be worth the risk!
I hope so. I'm buying long term into it as well as options. I'd love to see it back in the $70's again.
Well, YA! You don't get much better value than a .50 dividend paying stock under $100 that has a book value of over $20, P/E around 10, and close to 10 billion dollars in the bank. LOL!
Wait till the announce the dividend they do quarterly. It always runs up to that.
It should beat $110 pretty quickly, IMO.

.IBMAS IBM JAN 2009 95 Calls
I'm pretty sure it will be back over $95 in short order. IMO, of course.
Looking at LVS today.
LVSKD $20 calls.
Low float. It's on the bottom, IMO. And will move quick.
I think it was due to the rumor that they were going to miss is the reason they announced early:
http://seekingalpha.com/article/99202-ibm-pre-announces-a-strong-q3-but-don-t-expect-a-tech-sector-trend?source=yahoo
Yeah, but they already reported last week. They beat estimates by a penny.
Anyone buying DIA puts?
Looking at these: .DAVXG DIA DEC 85 Puts
I'd never call the bottom as far as the overall market is concerned.
My context was as soon as you sell, there will be a bounce. Whether it holds or not is up to folks much smarter than I. LOL!
