I agree. In fact, I am changing my thoughts. Now I am hoping to see a fluff PR that pops it back up to the .008 range again - just to keep certain people from getting back in or increasing their position before the "real" announcement. I don't mind seeing others prosper, but when certain people try to manipulate others so they gain by their loss, I hope they get what is REALLY owed to them.
Wow, I wish I had the kind of money that oily guy has - I'd be adding to my position today at these prices without question! Alas, my account is limited to what I can do with my employer's contribution to my retirement fund.
Sorry if this has been mentioned, but I was out all last week on a business trip & have been trying to catch up with everything.
I know that there is no point in PR-ing anything until they tell us how much we are getting from the buy-out, but has anyone heard any solid info regarding receipt of the latest shipment? It was on its way over as of 4/2, and I just wondered if it has gotten there or not?
Oops, meant to send PM, not public ;)
Please don't say "WE" like you are lumping yourself in the same category as me with my investment in GBDX! Thanks!
My real question is this - Why all the pointless reposts?
My opinion (nothing more) is that there will be no more PR's until it's a done deal. This to me is a good thing, regardless of the whining I have seen about people saying that they "need to" update us.
If there was no real deal on the table, they would be pumping the heck out of this to get the PPS to climb as much as possible & dump. They are not doing that, but we at least did get the shareholder update, which I feel had enough substance in it.
They have no reason to keep pounding out the PR's saying "OK, we are in talks" then "Talks still going, but looking good" then "We are getting close to a deal" then "We are still hammering out the details" etc. becasue the money WILL BE made after the deal completes.
Does it really matter of the PPS stays where it is, goes up, or even drops until it actually happens? Well, the answer is yes if you have cash to buy more lower, but I don't, so I'm just waiting. It doesn't matter to me personally where it goes between now & the actual announcement telling us how much we are getting.
As always, IMO!
Back ON topic - I just got back to the office today from my company's user conference in New Orleans. Looking back a little, doesn't appear that I missed any action with BKMP.
Nice to see HRHR's self-imposed exile due to a certain loss has ended! Like him or not, he always brings some more excitement back to the board!
OT - Well, that's just great. It would be terrible if any of the people on campus could have actually had a firearm & been able to possibly do something about it.
I don't see the logic - How will I feel safer by having to surrended my firearm as soon as I get on campus? If I was in a situation where some nut job starts firing like that, I would like to have at least a chance to defend myself instead of relying on a rent-a-cop making $7/hour.
So is drugtester - and he's stuck there a month from the looks of it.

Dude, that "test" was over - This isn't new stuff, it's from 2006, isn't it?
Then to bring in a TFN reference, I bet he started pummeling you asking, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"
Wow, it's slow here. We don't even have all the 4/8 posts rolling off the screen to the next page yet. Let's hope this is the calm before the storm!
I got an E-mail this weekend that they expanded their beta test, so it's available to many more people now.
If those .0003's going through are buy-back, great - But with the large position I have of BKMP in my portfolio, it's lessening the emotional impact of my other stocks all being green so far today by showing my portfolio overall down! LOL
I agree with that, Neal, but a big company would also probably not be willing to dilute their own stock by issuing billions of shares of it even if we are worth the same PPS at the time of the buy-out.
With our current share structure, chances are that we will be worth at the most a single to double digit pennies max. Let's say that at the time of a buy-out we are worth .1 and a company like NewsCorp is selling around $20 - That would give us approximately 1 share of NewsCorp for every 200 BKMP we own.
If it was a company that was worth about the same as us, I could see them doing a purchase for both cash & stock to keep the massive dilution from occurring with them issuing shares for the buy-out. Maybe 1 share for every 100, plus the difference in cash.
Again, this is all said for illustration purposes only!
I can see a possible R/S coming down the line, if we get to that point. I don't see a multi-billion share company moving to a higher exchange, if that is in the plans. To qualify this post, I don't know of any such plans, just thinking out loud.
The reason I say "if we get to that point" is that I can possibly see a buy-out by another media company occurring not long after TFN gets its first real US carrier. If that does happen, depending on the details of the deal, it may R/S itself by giving us shares of another company in the amount of 1 share of it (for example NewsCorp) for every 100 we own, 1 share for every 1000 etc. The other possibility is a direct buy-out that could give us .005 cash for every share own, etc.
The numbers above mean nothing, just numbers I am using for illustration purposes.
Hmmm, that one is just WAAAAAAAY too easy - I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole!
Wow, was in a conference call & just looking at EOD T&S - I was expecting to see that .0075 be a painted close, but it was nice & solid toward the end there. I'm impressed!
Yup, that's why I'm wondering about a PR coming tonight or tomorrow to carry interest through to Monday.
Anyone expect a buy-out PR tomorrow or after close today? Just becasue the market is closed doesn't mean that they won't be working tomorrow. Seems like a number of companies enjoy putting out a PR after close for a long holiday weekend.
If you're talking about Mrs. McCarthy, as in my mother-in-law - YES, she has something to say about EVERYthing!
Quick one casue I have a conf call that should have already started - but I used to watch UFC on a regular basis in HD on INHD2 when we still had it, and it was AWESOME to see! You saw the little spots of blood on the canvas & felt like you were ringside! Now I catch it every now & then in HD, but since INHD2 is off our service, it's not that often. I have Comcast as well.
That would be great. I didn't know they actually work that way, so that's a good possibility as well.
The normal MM "shake" to see what weak hands will get scared & want o get out with a small profit as they see it drop. I'm not concerned with it.
I see he asked for major specifically - but I don't expact the first US carrier to be major. I think that they will end up aith a small one (or a few small ones) to start, then the big boys will watch to see how it goes before committing. I'm thinking something like a Blue Ridge Cable company (that's the small one that we have at our hunting camp in North Central PA) or something that is just covering a small area.
DOMS has a bit for 1M @ .0002 out there. Based on that, I'm afraid we may see a DT to get a big order filled cheap???
Agreed, I have no knowledge whether or not this true, but based on what I have seen, I'm guessing that they actually handle the highest retail volume of any MM.
I also generally follow the same "hate the game not the player" logic - But sometimes you can't help but bring personal feelings into it about one & dislike them when you see the same player winning too much because of (perceived) bending of rules or cockyness no matter how good they are at the game (TO comes to mind).
I have Schwab as well. I was not overly pleased with them for a while there, but I have to say that they have gotten much, MUCH better lately when it comes to taking care of things when I contact them. I would have steared people from them before, but now I have actually recommended them a couple times.
Anything is possible - But I personally don't see that happening. If I was involved in a high position with a company like this, I would prefer to get the money up-front. There really are no "employment contracts" any longer like there used to be. They can be broken at the drop of a hat. Plus, for working the company to where it is now with the possibility of such a buy-out, I would expect that these people would rather get out with their profits now.
Did you notice UBSS has an ASK of .0115? Also on BID with .0065. I watch them closer than any ofthe other MM's. Of course, with 5 minutes til bell, they tend to drop right before (per my experience watching other stocks).
Aren't the markets closed tomorrow? Might get an after hours PR, based on Sandy's past history - he likes to put out good ones after the bell before a 3 day weekend.
Someone tried to go the wrong way - but at least they missed it. There is a 0 share trade at .007 after close (4:00:27).
Don't forget that yesterday was a painted close. Seems that we are holding steady in .007's, and that's pretty good.
Also expect the usual MM games, for whatever reason they decide to play them.
I saw something about Willy Wonka saying something like 177M short so trying to cover? I doubt that they would be that stupid right now. I'm guessing they already have that taken care of with the looming possibility of the buy-out news any day. I think they just like showing that THEY have the "power." JMHO though.
I actually question the logic of the buy-back even occurring right now.
Well, I know why to a point - to get investor confidence back up from the extreme lows where it was recently.
But logically, why not wait to see what the conversion from preferred is before doing anything? If we end up with 20B in conversion dilution, 5B buy-back was wasted money since we'll still be diluted by 15B more than we started with.
Yeah, I know they will be a non-issue for at least a year (probably more) due to restrictions - BUT in the case of a buy-out, don't even the holders of restricted shares get paid the same as non-restricted? I don't know, maybe they don't, or they only get a % of what unrestricted does. Anyone know the answer to that?
I see everyone talking about sales for the most part when speculating on the buy-out price - Don't forget the value of the license! I have no idea what it's really worth, but I have seen mention of a (very) low of $17M for it alone! Keep in mind that they just lifted the export restrictions for roughs, there are only a few such licenses, and the rumor the DeBeers is all but out in Russia - I would personally put the value of the license alone MUCH higher!
I certainly am not a nut who expects something for nothing - suddenly a stock that many bought in around .004 or so doesn't often end up returning dollars per share. But you never know. I would be THRILLED with the .1 / share number that's been floating around - I'm just saying you never know!
I think we ALL know who I actually meant that for! LOL
It's just a shame that a couple of the other good mods like yourself have gone off to "greener pastures" due to circumstances.
Ditto, sharky! I enjoy seeing that there are actually a few others like youself that I know from elsewhere who have gotten on the GBDX train - Hopefully this one will come through soon to give us a little validation for waiting around in some of our other plays....
Mods (1 of you in particular) - Thanks for getting better with letting posts with substance stay, instead of arbirtary deletes of posts that IMO should have stayed!
I say let them sell at .0075 all they want - They will be the ones crying when the numbers are presented in a few minutes, hours, days, or weeks. Patience is the key right now.
The letter, to me, put a LOT of info out in writing that would probably only be allowed to be released if the ink is already starting to dry on the contracts, IMO!
Gosh darn it - I left it in my other pants!
